The Tijuana Torta is so bomb! I highly recommend this one. It is stuffed with meat. The grilled onions are mouth watering. And they give free frijoles that you self serve into a small cup. You can snack on them while you wait. I only rate this place 4-stars because this place is small and there are always flies everywhere there. Food quality is worth it though!! Just order to-go and eat it elsewhere. Make sure you get a side of those grilled onions! read more

This place is underrated. It's really good and they have good service. I tried the asada and chicken tacos and I liked the asada better. Their aguas frescas need improvement as they didn't seem freshly made. The to-go beans are delicious (they're a bit spicy). Their salsas and other garnishes were also good. I just don't like that the garnishes are open for anyone to grab (buffet style/self-serve). read more

Just bought tacos from here to go, and i asked for some guacamole to go. Then the guy who was packing the food to go said it is $1.00. And i was like sure, no problem, and went to pay at the cashier, then the guy said, yeah we got no more. Great tacos with a load of extras available for free. Beans, all different salsa and chilies. Great place to grab and go, the only down side is the people who hang out in front asking for money, some of them are really aggressive, and for the many Taco places available in Pomona including the street vendors it's not really worth the bad experience. read more

I felt the Carne Asada and Chorizo tacos were delicious. Chicken and Carnitas were slightly dry and needed salsa for moisture. Salsa bar is free which includes three or four different choices that scales the heat from mild to hot. It also includes free beans as well as lemons, radishes and peppers. This STILL HAS THE BEST PASTOR TACOS. It's so good! Freshly cut pastor and topped with onions cilantro and guac. Love this place. I'm glad they expanded their menu with other taco options. **Beware** I visited this location after visiting La Michoacana next door. The location seemed modern and the aroma drew me in. I ordered a Huarache with Al Pastor. The female cashier verbally stated that my total was $7.07. I handed her my card and she swiped it. She then took the receipt out and just asked me to sign. It wasn't until later that I noticed that she had helped herself to a tip. Allow me to describe the service type of restaurant. This is very much a fast food style restaurant where you order at the cashier and they just call your number to pick up your food. Food is served on a paper plate. There is nothing that would warrant a tip here but the most concerning part is the sneaky underhanded way they "steal" your money. Just had some tacos from here. I had ASADA, AL PASTOR, TRIPAS, and CABEZA. I placed my order. The order came out fast. The TACOS were pretty big. They do mot skimp on the protein. The ASADA tacos were marginal at best . The AL PASTOR were just ok. TRIPAS we're not great but edible and the CABEZA were really bad, so bad that my son couldn't eat his and I just took two bites and called it quits. I went there because of the reviews but whom ever gave them great reviews must not be a street taco enthusiast. If you want better tacos than this place, just go to any other place close by. The TACO MAN, El Rey, hell, even TACOS MEXICO are better than this place and that's saying a lot. I do not recommend this place. read more

So glad that I was able to find this place in Pomona. Mother moved to this city a couple months ago and kepy telling me how she was not finding any good Mexican food to eat near where she lived. She moved from Los Angeles where good Mexican places are a dime a dozen so she knows what it should taste like. Visiting here I find this place on yelp and decide to take her and my brother out to eat. Her sign of a good Mexican place is that it's full and busy on a weekend. We get there and there is a line out the door. I think we found our new place", she said. We order just about everything. A torta, burrito and a few of their signature tacos. I forget what they are called but it's not the regular ones. The food comes out and it just looks amazing. The tacos are huge and loaded. We all try a bit of everything and all we can do I look up at each other and smile. The meat is fresh and cooked to perfection, the veggies are plentiful and their selection of salsas is excellent. I came in with pretty high expectations since the reviews seem to be pretty good but... unfortunately I was disappointed. Now, around the Pomona area, there are lots of taco shops, taco trucks, King Taco is nearby, etc. so tacos around here need to be superb. When I got to this location after a long work day, I was ready for some tasty tacos. While I was waiting to order, there were 4-5 homeless people wandering around asking the shop for food, asking patrons for food, etc. It made my experience a bit uncomfortable as the shop doesn't have much seating space. I braved through it because, well it's Pomona so some of this is to be expected. I finally received my tacos and womp womp, the tortillas... I don't know if they were wheat or old or overdone but they were hard and didn't taste very good. I ordered two asada, two cabeza. I normally prefer cabeza because the meat is more tender but with these, I couldn't even taste the cabeza meat. All I could taste was the tortillas. I did not end up finishing my tacos and scurried to my car to get home I also ordered the pina water but... i could tell it was just made with a powder mix. No pineapple at all -- not even the dole canned pineapple. I won't be back here as there are plenty other taco shops closer and better to me. read more

The air is filled with smokey meats being cooked on the grill. The pastor is slowly turning next to the heat lamp. Your nose smells and taste the flavorful meats. Your salivating for the mouthwatering tacos. The tacos are made with fried tortillas, tender and flavorful meats (carna asada, pastor, carnitas etc.), guacamole, onions and cilantro. To add some extra spice to the tacos there is a salsa bar that has red and green chili sauces, jalapeños, radishes and marinated onions. Also there are two pots of beans with bacons. We stopped by Tijuana's Tacos on a Saturday evening. We got there right before a rush of people and were fortunate to get a seat. Ordered some quesatacos which were good, but my husband and I really enjoyed the complimentary frijoles charros. They had a little bit of a spice to them but were good and made your taco's feel like more of a meal. If you are in the area definitely give them a try. This place is good for picking up food to take home. Not much space for sitting and dinning. We sat outside which as ok cause it was in the evening. Not much space to sit inside. read more

Random drive by and got the urge for tacos. I walked in and looked at the menu, originally thought about doing traditional tacos but then I saw they had specialty tacos. I decided I'd go for the chile taco which had asada Anaheim chile and chorizo on it and I ordered another one that had asada pastor and nopales. They've got a nice little bar for likes pickled carrots and a few different salsas. My order was quick and after first sight I thought they looked amazing. Looks can be deceiving though. I went in for the nopales tacos first and damn... can't be this good So I go in for another bite. Damn damn! Ok this is good. I eat it with salsa all over and my cucumbers. Then I go for the chile taco and this one was just as if not better than the first. I gotta say, I eat tacos from all over and I know what's a good authentic taco and there isn't too many places who can hit it on the dome, this place does. What can I say about my experience? If you're looking for some delicious tacos, then definitely avoid this place. The meat, bland. The salsa, bland, the tortillas, cold. I ordered carne asada tacos, expecting delicious, flavorful tacos- an authentic experience. But ended up disappointed and my craving unsatisfied. I am close to tears! On the upside, they do fill the plate with what looks like a pound of meat, though unflavorful it is. But if all you crave is creamy and delicious horchata, then that is all I recommend because the horchata was rather above average. Worst Experience!!! Was referred by a friend (his yelp review for this place was 5 stars) so I had high expectations. We initially went into the next door ice cream parlor and that was awesome!!! So we stopped by here to grab some tacos.... The place was really small so we decided to grab our food to go. We ordered 1 Vampiro/ 18 Tacos de asada/ 4 tacos de Lengua/ and 4 tacos de tripa. Everything went smoothly until we got home. We realized then that we had only received the Vampiro and the 18 asada tacos. They failed to give us the other 8. The dissatisfaction emerged when I called in to see what we could do about it. The lady on the phone (I believe her name was Crystal) acknowledged that the kitchen messed up our order, yet the conversation went something like this- Lady: are you able to drive back to pick up your missing tacos? Me: I live far and am home already, that would be really inconvenient. Lady: can you come back tomorrow? Me: Well I'm not sure about driving all the way there for tacos tomorrow, can you like give me the credit for my missing food for next time I visit? Lady: Well I need to know exactly when you are going to come, so I can give you the missing tacos. But I don't work on Saturdays or Tuesday's (I think she said) therefore I won't be able to help you! AND REFUND IS NOT AN OPTION!! (Harsh tone) Me: oh well I'm sorry but I cannot tell you for sure when I'm coming in to pick them up, is there a way that you can mail me a voucher for the tacos or my money back at least. Lady: NO!!! I cannot help you!!!! I already told you to come pick up your missing tacos either today or tomorrow, you said you can't so I'm sorry!! I don't understand why anybody needs to take the blame, it doesn't matter if it was the cook or the cashier, or the owners fault why I didn't get my tacos, you are all 1 unit/ you are all ONE TEAM! It's only 5 min away I tried tacos al pastor I do think that it would be so much better if they added grilled onions in the al pastor meat as it traditional made like that. Seemed authentic w all the neighborhood residents hanging out on the sidewalks. Outside patio seating and indoor tables (4) available. 3 salsa and radish/ pickled carrot and onion bar. Guacamole on tacos seemed canned like baby food and nacho cheese on nachos was the liquid orange kind from childhood. Tacos here were amazing and delicious. Lots of flavor and meats pastor so charred and crunchy. Parking lot limited so park on street curbs. Police officers drove by a few times and one homeless person rinsed off his hair at the hose in front of the side walk by the patio seating. He wanted money not food.
