    El Maleficio

I was really craving an aguachile for my lunch, so decided to give this place a try. And honestly, I'm so happy I did. My order was delicious! For a Monday, it wasn't so busy, the place was nice and clean, a few ppl eating there too. I ordered "El Maleficio" and mannnn, not only was it hooked up--but it sure hit the spot. I will definitely be coming here more. Definitivamente voy a volver.

First time at this location, and it was pretty good. I ordered a half dozen oysters, which the oysters seemed fresh, but lacked any significant flavor and I usually put Tabasco on them and they did not have any. I also ordered tostado de se ceviche which was outstanding, I used one of their salsa negra which had an amazing flavor. The food was brought out quickly by the server. The interior was small, but had sufficient seating.

Loved this this place! The ladies cooking were so nice, helpful & the food was delicious! My husband ordered a wet burrito verde, he loved it & yes he ate it all! I ordered a taco de Camaros, very tasty; I couldn't decide between the Camaron & ceviche pulp & the consome de Camaron so I ordered both! ‍ great choices! Since I was cold, ate the consume & took the ceviche home, no regrets! Ambiance is ok, nothing spectacular but we were there for the food

Excellent food, service and prices. The seafood was fresh and the salsa and sauces were bomb! Get the cabeza instead of the asada, very tender.

First time here and won't be my last. Tried the tacos and the shrimp cocktail. All was so fresh, flavorful and delicious. It's not a fancy place, but service and food was excellent. Giving 4 stars cause they don't sell alcoholic beverages.

We have been coming here for years & they NEVER disappoint! The tacos are sooooo bomb! No other place compares to this place it's always consistently the best tacos we have ever had. The service is always top notch, the employees are so friendly we feel like regulars even when it's been a while we don't go in between visits here they remember you. I love the ambiance of a small, cute local spot with great music playing that makes you enjoy your food even more. Highly recommend!

Came here during lunch hour for a good seafood bite and this place didn't disappoint! I was very much in love with the spice and quality of this food! When consuming ask for the VIP sauce!! It will levitate your taste buds to another level! I love the spice! The service was good I got a bunch of tostadas and my meal was ready under ten mins! This spot is a bit small but if you're coming in for a party of two this is a great place for you! I'm coming back here for my lent Fridays!

Best mariscos in LA County!! We walked and were greeted by the owner, very friendly and super nice. Restaurant was nice and clean. Quiet and chill setting. I ordered some tacos de pastor and they were super bomb, the red salsa was off the hook. I ordered the Malifico agua chiles hands down best agua chile so far. My new go to spot in Pomona!!! Muy rico con mucho sabor.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was super welcoming and took the time to walk us through the menu and their specialties, which made ordering a lot easier. The shrimp tacos were a pleasant surprise--not your typical style. They're fried and topped with a flavorful sauce that really sets them apart. Solid choice if you want something a little different. The real star of the show was the Poseidon botana aguachiles. We were originally deciding between the Poseidon and the mixta, but they mentioned they could make the botana a Poseidon style, and that's what we went with. Absolutely delicious--super fresh and packed with flavor. Highly recommend this dish. We also tried the tostada de pescado (size small), which was probably my least favorite. It wasn't bad, just didn't stand out compared to everything else. I'd personally skip it next time. One thing to note--there's a small parking lot that was more full than expected given how many people were inside. It seems like it might be shared with nearby businesses, so just keep that in mind. Overall, great experience, great food, and I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu.

Food was fine, but the service needs a lot of work…read more It was our first time coming here, so I had no idea how anything worked. When we first arrived, the front was completely disorganized, and there were no lines at all. People were just crowding around the hostess table, so I had no idea how to add my name to the waitlist. There were no signs that showed where the line starts, and no line was being formed at all. The hostess kept having to walk people to their table, so it was nearly impossible to grab her attention. When I did manage to do so, she was very rude and prioritized other people before us. She obviously saw us come in before other people, but ignored that fact and just added other people to the waitlist first. Ridiculous. Their waitlist system is through Yelp, which sends you a text when your table is ready. Based on the app, it said that our table wouldn't be ready for about 1.5 hours, so we decided to walk around the outlet in the meantime. After nearly 1.5 hours, I saw that we were 2nd in line and decided to have our family walk back to the restaurant. While we were waiting outside for me to receive the text, we heard the host call my name and say that our table was ready. We met with him, and I said that it was odd since I hadn't received the text yet. He said, "Oh no, the hostess told me about you guys. You said that your phone was dead, so you'd hang around the restaurant and wait for us to call your name." No. We never said that. They have us confused with a different party. This means that if I hadn't checked the waitlist regularly and had just waited for that text, it never would've come, and we never would've gotten seated. What a messy system. Also, I've never been to a seafood boil restaurant where we have to ask for the bibs. Normally, they're given to us right when we're seated, so it was weird. We noticed other people were given bibs right when they're seated, so we're not sure why this happened. Other Kickin' Crab locations also give you an entire bottle of ketchup, whereas this place only gives small plastic cups. Weird. I think the employees and other customers would agree with me when I say that the entire place is completely disorganized because multiple orders around us were being messed up. The table to our left was missing its piece of corn and sausage in its bag of shrimp, while the table to our right was missing crawfish in their bag. The workers were obviously trying their best to straighten things out, but it didn't seem to be working. The menu is consistent with their other locations, but the market prices are a bit higher than what we're used to. Compared to the location that we always go to, this place offers bigger frozen crawfish, but the bags were mainly just the claws, so it seemed like a big ripoff. * Cajun Fries: 8/10 - nice cook, but there was only cajun seasoning on the top * Shrimp (Head-On): 9/10 - good flavor * Crawfish (Frozen): 6/10 - big crawfish, but the bag was mostly just claws and not enough garlic The place is located at the Shoppes of Chino Hills outlet, so parking is relatively easy. After being seated, the servers were nice, but it was difficult to enjoy the experience because of everything that had already happened. Overall, the service was a huge letdown, and we did not feel comfortable eating here. Places like this are why tipping is optional. The workers at the Kickin' Crab location we usually go to are way more laidback and friendlier, yet still maintain impeccable service. Would not return.

I really enjoyed the dinner I had, they offer lots of options, from freshly made buns, dumplings to fresh seafood. The menu is pretty extensive and they also offer cooked dishes from the kitchen. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They made sure we get the best experience as it was our first time dining at this place. We had the big eye fish as they called it and they steamed it at the other empty table because our buns and dumplings were steaming at the same time to save time. They finish the fish at the kitchen with the hot oil and sauce. We also had the pork and shrimp buns, and beef dumplings. They were delicious! You can make your sauce at the station too and they provide good options. We also got the baby oysters appetizer that was soaking in some sort of light soy sauce marinade. Also got the soft shell crab and you get 3 whole crabs for $10! It was so worth it! The whole restaurant looked clean and inviting. The booths were spacious. I would definitely come back here and try other dishes!

The meat was sweet and tender, and the sauce had a nice balance of savory flavor without overpowering the natural seafood taste. You can tell the quality of the seafood is solid. The sea urchin egg custard was super smooth and silky. The uni added a rich, slightly briny depth that paired really well with the delicate steamed egg. Definitely a standout if you like uni. Each dishes had its own highlight. Ambiance is modern and clean, giving a slightly upscale seafood house vibe. Service was decent and the food came out nicely presented. Prices are on the higher side, but for fresh seafood and quality ingredients, it feels reasonable for a special meal. Would come back again to try more of their live seafood options.

Debit Card can also bypass the surcharge, but there's a $20 minimum for Debit Card. Also, prepare to order for TO-GO. If you choose "full service dine in," they automatically charge 18% gratuity.) I arrived at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) on Saturday (around 9:45AM). Parking is easy. There's a wide private parking lot. Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) includes an area to purchase prepackaged snacks (like a convenience store) and a counter (with sizzling food on hot trays). The ordering process is fast since customers just point at precooked items - similar to Panda Express. Staff is cordial and friendly. An elderly staff member would place the selected food in a container. Cashier (receipt says Maricar) is also hardworking and professional. Staff speaks Tagalog and English. Despite the long line of customers, the process flowed quickly. The food is fairly good. The Breakfast One Item Meal - Longanisa ($11.99) comes with Garlic Fried Rice and Fried Egg. The three big Longanisa (aka: Sausage) came very plump, juicy, and wet. The Fried Egg tasted clean & fresh. Unfortunately, I hated the Garlic Fried Rice. It tasted dry, coarse, and chewy. That rice was left out for too long. Concerning the Palabok (16oz - $14.99), this dish came flavorful but very cold. Regardless, I enjoyed its wet and zesty sauce. I liked how its noodles felt soft and moist. And I enjoyed the powdered Chicharon (aka: crushed deep fried pork) which added a comforting, crisp texture. The shrimps had a nice chew, but they tasted somewhat rubbery. Concerning ambiance, Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills) is surprisingly enchanting. I appreciated the dining area's floral decorations & glittering lights. The location is also relatively clean. Some tables had small bits of crumbs, but the floors were very well-swept. There's even an outside sink for cleanliness near the dining room. Unfortunately, the restroom is out-of-order. Still, I appreciated how the interior felt airy and well-ventilated. Overall, I had a good experience at Seafood Ranch Grill (Chino Hills). Although some options didn't taste the freshest, the food captured some enjoyable flavors & textures. It's a "not-bad" location. 4.3 out of 5
