We are typically seated right away, and the chips and salsa arrive almost immediately. One thing that has changed recently is their chips and salsa policy. They used to provide additional chips and salsa at no charge, but now they charge for refills. I believe it was around $3 for an extra order, which feels a little excessive. Our favorite menu item is the fajitas for two, with half chicken and half steak. It comes with six taco shells, a sizzling skillet loaded with meat, peppers, and onions, plus a plate of lettuce, pico, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything is super flavorful, and it's always more than enough food for us. I also like adding the table salsa to my tacos, although I'll probably do that less often now that extra salsa comes with an added charge. The service is consistently good and attentive, and we're usually in and out without any long wait. We went to Tijuana Taxi Co and had a great time. The food was excellent, and the service was amazing. We had a large party, and the staff was very accommodating. I love when restaurants offer complimentary chips and salsa--I truly feel that should be a staple at every restaurant, even non-Mexican ones. The steak quesadilla was really good. The steak had great flavor, and the meal itself was very filling. The toppings made it even better. The drinks were also great--strong without feeling like I was drinking pure sugar. Despite our large group, the staff was very attentive and made sure everyone was satisfied. We sat outside, and it was very nice. The vibe was great, and the weather was perfect. I'm very disappointed with how my recent visit to Tijuana Taxi on Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach was handled. About a week ago, I stopped in to ask whether they would consider donating a raffle item for Chiari's Little Warriors and our upcoming Walk for Chiari. I spoke with one of the gentleman managers, who was extremely kind and supportive. Tijuana Taxi has helped us in the past, and he immediately said they could do something again this year. Their machine was down, so he asked me to come back. I returned yesterday because I had specifically been asked to do so. When I came back, I spoke with the office manager, and I found the way she spoke to me to be very rude and upsetting. I was even more disappointed to learn that she later told the gentleman manager that I had been rude and was demanding gift cards. That is not what happened. I was simply explaining that I had returned because I had been asked to come back regarding a donation that had already been offered. I completely understand that no business is ever obligated to donate, and I would never demand a donation from anyone. If they had changed their mind, I would have respected that. My disappointment is entirely with how I was treated and how the interaction was later described. I do want to make clear that the gentleman manager I originally spoke with was wonderful, kind, and gracious. Unfortunately, the way my return visit was handled left me feeling very disappointed. read more

I came here on vacation - we had the option to sit inside or outside which we sat outside. It's a super nice ambiance on the patio. If you don't go during happy hour their margaritas are insanely expensive - $13. It was our waitress' first day so I can't say anything negative about her. Our food was good - no one had any complaints. I would just say when I think of Mexican food I don't think about spending $150. read more

Came here for a quick dinner with my friend. Our server, Carson, was super nice and attentive. We were able to get a table right away, even during the dinner rush (it was on a Tuesday though so wasn't too crazy). There was a good amount of tables I side and outside. We sat inside and started with chips, salsa, and guac and that was super tasty. All 3 of us did the taco Tuesday taco platter. I got the pulled chicken and it was messy but delicious . Party of 3. We arrived at about 2pm on a Wednesday. There was about a dozen customers total. Food was stale and aged. Except for the fried onion rings. They were hot, delicious and plentiful. However, they were served without ketchup. By the time she came back to ask if we needed anything else, the onion rings were half gone... I moved on. We weren't expecting 5 star experience but good service can overcome a lot. Guacamole was slightly past fresh and tasted like the avocado was over ripe. The cilantro rice was a little dry and room temperature. The Mexican street corn was not hot and not fresh and a little hard. The chips were not served with the guacamole and only brought afterwards when requested. The waitress was very nice but we noticed she ("Gi-Gi...nickname for Giovanni) didn't write down anything we ordered. Likewise, there was mistakes in 2 out 3 of our orders. Eventually, I ordered a skirt steak to take home for my wife. It comes with mashed potatoes and plantains. My wife doesn't like plantains so I asked we could substitute asparagus. She said yes, for an additional $1. After the meal she asked if she could put in the to go order to which I answered yes please and thank you. ​Gi-Gi brings the to go order and announces that she was wrong about the substitution, "the plantains are considered a garnish and not a side and therefore could not be substituted for another side at [ the agreed upon and sale price stated]. " Without mentioning this to me beforehand, they substituted the mashed potatoes for asparagus and left off the plantains. If I still wanted the mashed potatoes (that the menu states are included in the $24.99 price, I would now have to pay for a separate side order of mashed potatoes and pay an additional $6.99. Naturally, I objected and stated the obvious issue of them selling me an extra item that was supposed to be included and sold to me for a different agreed upon price. She just shrugged it off and said, there's nothing she could do...that's the way it is. My wife is sick and home waiting for her dinner...I ended up paying $40 for the skirt steak meal with asparagus ( no plantains) and a styrofoam cup of mashed potatoes to go... and that's just part of the sad story of our visit and friendly lunch experience at Tijuana Taxi on federal Hwy in Deerfield Beach. My friends and I had a really nice time getting together so the horrible performance of the restaurant and staff didn't ruin our day or even our lunch engagement...but it sure ruined any chance of Tijuana Taxi of Deerfield Beach EVER getting our business again. I've literally NEVER given a bad review to a restaurant....but that's how bad this particular experience was. Not one person on the staff even attempted to communicate what went wrong, whether we were satisfied with ANYTHING or if/how we might reconcile the multiple issues in our bad experience. In fact, as we were leaving, 3 of the staff - including "Gi-Gi" were huddled at the hostess or greeting station talking together as we exited for the parking lot. It was awkward to say the least. We just spent about $125 for 3 people to have lunch and left feeling like we just got scammed. In conclusion, I would gladly forgive, forget and even venture another future visit ONLY IF I could get some kind of explanation, reason, conversation, communication and reconciliation from their management or ownership. I've owned and operated several businesses in my lifetime. I understand it's not easy and people make mistakes...but this was bizarre. It would take a lot of explanation to undo this blunder. Beef Taco were horrible. The beef was like like soup. Could not even stay in the Taco, what a mess, worse than Taco Bell. Chimichanga was not so good either. Baja Cafe (practically across the street) makes great Chimichanga by the way. El Jefe just up the street makes great Tacos. I will try a few more things but so far the only things they have done very well at is their fajitas and their baby back ribs. read more

I've been here twice. There won't be a third. Allison was our waitress both times. Worst service I've ever received at a restaurant. I requested salt/pepper and sweetener both times I've been there and she doesn't listen, then she gets offended when I ask for it again and makes it a point to not take our order as a result. The food is nothing to write home about either. The steak from the fajitas was stringy the first time and the queso was sub-par. We usually dine in, but my wife decided to get herself an entree to go. She politely requested a small side of chips and salsa, and the manager was rude as f***. They won't give you chips and salsa to go unless you're spending $25 minimum. (Her meal was just a few dollars less.). Yet if you dine at the restaurant, there is no minimum requirement to get chips and salsa. My wife explained we come here very often - which we do - and the manager could have been cool and said here you go, no problem. A small handful of chips likely costs the restaurant pennies. But he was a stubborn jerk. So way to go, Mr. Manager! We'll be visiting Baja Cafe from now on. Take your chips and shove them! read more

You can't go wrong here, a free standing building in a small shopping center with Ample free parking! Nicely decorated Mexican themed atmosphere, indoor, outdoor and bar seating. They have friendly staff , a large menu with plenty of options for food and beverages along with daily specials and happy hour. Our table ordered the Hacienda Burrito which was a very large portion, it was very good, sizzling hot full of flavor chicken fajitas ,which was also a good size portion and tacos. Tijuana taxi company is probably one of my favorite Mexican places to go to.The food comes out FAST- From the time i ordered to the time it was on my table was exactly 7 minutes. Drinks were also made right away. Perfect if you want to come somewhere that you won't wait for or spend a bunch of time there. The menu is huge but my favorite would be the Birria Bowl - so tasty. This Mexican chain restaurant is close by, nicely decorated w indoor and covered outdoor seating, fast service, easy parking, good specials and decent prices. I have had several dishes and the food is good, not amazing but good. The alcohol drinks all look big and refreshing..and you can request alcohol free. My last visit i ordered the fish tacos which were listed online but I couldn't find them on their actual menu which was hard to navigate. Im glad i asked our server and she gave me the choice of grilled or fried Mahi...California Style. . I will say it was delicious and i will order again and street corn was pretty good too! I ordered takeout as I frequently do and they forgot to include in my order the salsa and queso that I ordered and paid for. No problem, I called in and let them know and they told me that they would put my name on the list and would give it to me on my next order. Today I called in another to go order and referenced the fact that they had my name on the list for salsa and queso that they owed me. Robb the manager told me that my name wasn't on the list and he acted as if I made it up. Granted it's only salsa and queso but it's the principle and terrible customer service from a manager of all people. You should just know what to expect from the management when you go there. Having skipped dinner on Sunday but famished later that night, we drove north on US-1 past Commercial to find a decent place to eat. I had no idea (because I don't go out much these days) that most of the businesses in Pompano Beach along US-1 close early on Sundays. Not Tijuana! I had the Classic Taco Platter. What a rebel @Ariel W. The picadillo taco was OK. I really liked their slow-cooked, flavorful carne asada but loved the chicken! We had good service--Jenna was sweet, left plenty of napkins, and checked back often enough. I was a bit surprised, however, that the girls (not the guys) wear uniforms like H**ters but all black.
