Absolutely amazing experience! The Cuban sandwich was phenomenal--perfectly pressed with incredible flavor. The El Paso tacos were delicious, super flavorful and moist. The carne asada tacos were just as impressive--tender and packed with flavor. The birria tacos were outstanding, and the dipping juice took them to another level. We came for lunch not even realizing it was Taco Tuesday! So it was a nice surprise to get a discount. The restaurant is located in a strip plaza on the east side of the street . There's no sign above on the marquis, but you'll see the name spelled out on the windows below. There's ample parking in the free lot. Inside, the menu to me is more Mexican than Cuban. We'd had a lot of meat/steak so although that's what they specialize in (per our server), we chose an order to share of shrimp tacos. We got some complimentary salsa and chips while waiting. The salsa had a slight kick -- more than the usual gringo ones do. There were four tacos to an order with grilled shrimp topped with the traditional (authentic) Mexican style: cilantro and onions only; and the soft tortillas were doubled to make for easier hand holding. We'd also ordered some guacamole which turned out to be wonderful -- flavorful, chunky, and with bits of tomato and onions in it, too. We'd tried it with the chips and then even put some on top of the shrimp. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, then this small restaurant is the place. Enjoy! read more

I'm so thrilled we stumbled upon this place!! Absolutely legit Mexican food. Starting off with the chips and salsa- just like our favorite places in New Mexico- crispy fresh and while the salsa isn't hot it's the perfect texture and very flavorful. We got four tacos- a Birria, pastor, carnitas, and a chorizo; all were delicious. My favorite was the chorizo which was surprising for me! It was perfectly balanced with spice and the onion. We also got some red enchiladas which were really good- the red is smoky and again, not wildly spicy but very flavorful. The carnitas were juicy! After a week of fish, the carnivores came off the beach. We headed to Lighthouse Point to a quaint taqueria called La Cubana Mexicana. It's camouflaged in a strip mall called the Georgetown Plaza. Look for the red, white, green, & Modelo banners with a terra cotta pot painted in the flag colors of Mexico and a small sign "tacos open". We entered and were greeted by Shyla and sat in the back of a 6 table joint. As we decided on what to get, Shyla brought us fresh salsa and chips that were still warm with medium sized squeeze bottles of homemade hot sauces. The decor is bright and cheery with papel picado draped throughout, flags of North and South American countries dotting the wall, and a neon sign asking, "Soy Latino, ¿y que?". What a great vibe. I got the Birria C/Queso Y Consumé street tacos served on corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. My better half got the Chorizo street tacos served on corn tortillas with cilantro and onions. We shared an elote-Mexican street corn on the cob, charred with spicy and creamy chili, garlic, and Cotija cheese. The pictures do not do them justice. The four Birria tacos are presented in oval fast food basket with a small cup of consumé and lime wedges. What hit me like a Ranger Suarez fastball was the aroma of cinnamon and oregano and then garlic and cumen. First bite, the cheese is oozing out of crispy double corn tortilla perfectly grilled on flat top. Second bite, dipping in the consumé to add more flavor. Bites three, four, & five came in rapid dunking succession that I chased it down with few bites of street corn. I should have gotten a Modelo instead I slurped up some water. Not gonna lie, I ate the second and third taco and forgot to share with my better half, SMH. The four Chorizo tacos were presented in same fashion just without the consumé. I forgot to squeeze lime onto the Birria tacos but remembered for the lone Chorizo taco. It was scrumptious with adobe flavor. We finished everything without a crumble or errant cilantro leaf. We were totally satisfied and full. As street tacos snobs from Philadelphia, this is not Taco Bell or Chipotle. This is legit, straight up street taco fare. You will not be disappointed. We certainly concur with all the five star ratings. I regret not taking up Shyla's gracious offer of a small container of hot sauce, SMH again. read more

Visiting from Philly and went to the La Cubana Mexicana food truck two days in a row while it was serving lunch at a conference being held at Sunlight Church. Trying to lay off the carbs, I did the steak burrito without rice the first day and then the chorizo burrito without rice the second day. Used both red and green sauces. The burritos were amazing...both had a wonderful depth of flavor. If they ever want to expand to Philly, I'd support their business! You are blessed Florida! read more

We do a monthly taco tour trying tacos. Wow! This place is wonderful. The pastor tacos are made with pineapple. I'm not a pineapple fan at all but this was AMAZING! Try the Bierce WITH CHEESE. It's OMG! The chorizo has that expected chorizo zing that some places don't add. If you like real chorizo flavor this will satisfy. The carne asada was yummy, truly. I wrote a stellar 5 star review on Google and wanted to change but couldn't. The first few experiences were great because we went into the restaurant. Then we proceeded to use door dash as we have seen many of them in there picking up food. We wanted chips and salsa but it was not on the list so I called and was told to order a Coke and call back to let them know the order and they will replace it with chips and salsa. Well we got the Coke and not the chips and salsa. I called to let them know and asked if I wanted to come and pick up the chips and salsa.....no I didn't hence the DoorDash. Then last night we called ourselves and placed the order (same order) and my husband went to pick it up and we got the large chips but no large salsa!!!! I called and was a bit upset because twice now it happened. And they were small orders. There is no excuse for this whatsoever. Food is good but with this happening twice we will not go back.
