For years I have frequented a couple of local mexican restaurants; they were/are good but my eyes have been opened to Casa Tequila. Let me tell you what makes my appreciation of Casa Tequila... I have really enjoyed the other mexican restaurants we were going to for the past couple decades but the issue always come up when my wife and I travel to Mexico and enjoy authentic mexican food; arriving back at our local spots became a let-down because they were serving very americanized dishes (flooded with too much cheese and loads of unnecessary sauce. Casa Tequila is serving much more along the lines of what we have enjoyed in our many visits to various regions of Mexico; great balanced flavors and a menu with plenty of options. I don't normally go for the burritos but these burritos are the real deal (AND THEY ARE HUGE so come hungry)... try the "SUPER BURRITO" or the "ASADA BURRITO"; I've tried a bunch but these are the two I keep re-ordering. Recently I tried their "FAJITA TRIO" (fajitas with steak, chicken and shrimps)... it's a lot of food but leftovers always taste great the next day. Personally, we love sitting at the bar; the bartenders are amazing at making fresh margaritas (we always ask every mexican place to not use a pre-made mix... Casa Tequila hits the spot with amazing margaritas); although I normally have their flavored iced tea. read more

Dined solo before a show at the Boca Black Box across the street. The ambiance is that of a nice, clean Mexican restaurant. I dined at the bar, and the bartender was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were unsalted and the salsa was oddly sour. I had two skinny margaritas which were very good and ordered the tacos al carbon, which comes with rice and beans. The tacos stood out, the steak was tender and had great flavor. The rice and beans were average. I've been to this location with my husband before and enjoyed the fajitas, so I *might* return if we were in the area and in the mood for Mexican, but I wouldn't go out of my way, to be honest. read more

I ONLY REVIEW NACHOS. I came in expecting a Mexican restaurant to nail nachos. That's a reasonable expectation. Boy was I wrong. The Grande Nachos arrived in a ceramic dish so nuclear hot I couldn't touch it. By the time it cooled enough to eat, the cheese had souped itself across the entire plate and sealed every chip underneath in a molten tomb. The shredded beef was actually good. That's the tragedy. Good ingredients, catastrophic execution. The refried beans -- listed on the menu, credit for that -- were the murder weapon. Beans plus nuclear heat plus oily cheese plus ceramic dish equals guaranteed chip annihilation. What was left underneath wasn't chips. It was soggy, near liquid mush. The Fork Rule was violated immediately. I left feeling like my gut had survived a blitzkrieg. I went straight to Packy's just to forget what I'd eaten. This isn't a nacho. We used to be pretty big fans of Casa Tequila but we got the ick somewhere along the way and stopped going. Anyway, wife and my mother-in-law decided they wanted to go out for Mexican food and Casa Tequila was nearby so we decided to stop in for another visit. The place was pretty busy and we had to wait a few mins for a table. And parking was a little bit of a hassle too, we had to park down by the ice cream parlor on the other side of the shopping center and walk over. Once seated, service was very fast and they wasted no time in providing us with bowls of warm tortilla chips and salsa which were pretty good. As for my main, I went with the Caldo De Pollo which had chicken, scallions, cilantro, tomatoes and avocado. It was pretty good and hit the spot since it was a little bit chilly that night. The flavor was a little bit bland though, so I threw in some hot sauce and that did the trick. The only negative point of our visit was the bathroom which was putrid. I can't believe how disgusting and dirty the it was and honestly when it gets that bad in a restaurant it always makes me wonder what's going on in the kitchen. Probably best not to think about it. But yeah they may want to send somebody in there to clean up once in awhile. It was absolutely gross. Overall, Casa Tequila is a pretty decent place but nothing to write home about. Overall three stars for me, probably would have been four if the bathroom was decent. I would probably go back again if we were in the mood, but I'll steer clear of the bathroom next time. read more

I'm from south Florida, but this was my first time at Casa Tequila. I went on a weeknight with my family and we were seated immediately. They brought free chips & salsa as soon as we sat down. I ordered the taco salad with ground beef. I enjoyed the meal, but I found the guacamole to be a little too watery with no flavor. Portions were big. Service was average. The only big con of this place was the noise level. The restaurant splits into two different areas. We were seated in an area that felt like a giant food hall. The restaurant was half empty, but the noise level was loud! I can only imagine what it's like when it is completely full. Casa Tequila is located in a busy shopping center. While you may not find parking right outside the restaurant, there are a ton of spots in the area. While we sat inside, they do have a few tables outside the front of the restaurant. This is perfect if you want to sit with your dog. read more

Came here for a birthday dinner, and unfortunately this visit didn't change my feelings about Casa Tequila. I ordered the grilled mahi tacos, and I hate to say it, but they were horrible. I took one bite and knew something wasn't right--the fish did not taste fresh at all. I order fish often, so this was especially disappointing. I ended up sending them back and sharing chicken and cheese tacos with a friend instead, which were fine but nothing memorable. I've really tried to give this place several chances over time, and I usually leave less than happy. Sometimes I don't have much of a choice because we come with a big group and this is where we end up, but it's just not a spot I look forward to. The location is convenient--on Glades near Marshalls and the Turnpike--but convenience alone isn't enough to make me a fan. Sadly, this just isn't the place for me. I really want to like it. Service was none existent!! I went in for lunch, sat at the Bar no one else at the bar. I ordered a margarita and enchiladas, I was not given a choice on the beans, so when it came out with refied beans I asked for black beans, Hector do my plate back in a huff, one of the enchiladas were not cooked I told him and I ate the inside. I was left sitting for 40 minutes no one checked to see if I wanted another drink. It wasn't until I got annoyed did anyone care!! The food was nothing to brag about -- just average Mexican food. My kid didn't even get her tortillas until the end of her meal, which made it impossible to make tacos while eating. The worst part, however, was the surprise 3% credit card fee added at the end of the meal. Apparently, the owner has a small sign somewhere mentioning it, but customers are only made aware after they eat. In my opinion, it is the establishment's responsibility to cover credit card transaction fees as part of the cost of doing business. I don't go around restaurants searching for tiny signs or hidden notices. Very disappointing experience overall. I will not be coming back. read more

Food was fantastic, service was a little lacking. We were seated promptly at a communal table and given chips and salsa. That was a great start but it was some time before we met our waitress and were given water. Our waitress was very nice but spread too thin between both her indoor and outdoor sections. Between the 5 of us, we got chicken mole, fajita trio, pollo asado, kids quesadillas, and the kids chicken taco. Food was fantastic and the portions were very generous. My chicken mole had great flavor, the sauce had a nice kick but not too spicy. My wife's fajita trio had chicken, steak, shrimp onions and bell peppers. The dish was well seasoned. I live a few minutes away from Casa Tequila via golf cart. The food is outstanding! I absolutely recommend the Carne Asada. The steak is always cooked perfectly, accompanied by very tasty Mexican rice and fresh pico de gallo. Another of my favorites are any of their burritos! As for cocktails, they can be a bit hit or miss depending on the bartender that night, but the service is excellent! My wife and I often stop by for a few apps and beers at the end of a long day. In response to your comment, manager: I call it as it is. The terrible fish tacos came AFTER I flirted with the waitress. And by the way, she did not "turn me down". She said nothing. Just a scowl . I believe these rotten tacos were retaliation because the tacos had no flavor whatsoever. They tasted like dead fish. I don't think any spices of any kind were put on the tacos. They were the most bland things I have ever eaten. The flavor was absent. Nada. and, I have plenty of dignity, manager. I just don't like paying exorbitant prices for food that tastes this way. Got to this place at 230 pm place is massive and almost no one was here. Ordered a combination plate of chicken tacos and enchiladas beef shredded. I don't want to say bad things if I can but I can start by saying the menu is humngous there are over a hundred items on the menu. Ok so my food came and plate was as hot as a skillet. Taco was a piece of chicken in hard shell very dry but I noticed that chicken was t on of liquid but since chicken wasn't shredded liquid didn't get to center then had lettuce and cheese just thrown on top of food on plate not in taco. We met some friends here after finding a $10 coupon in the SaveAround Palm Beach FUNDRAISER coupon book. They refused to honor it unless we paid cash. Nowhere on the coupon does it say CASH ONLY. The OWNER is obviously using this as a way to get customers in the door knowing that most people don't carry cash. Good food and good staff but this was the first and last time I will be dining here. I am always amazed at the service at the large busy venue. No matter how crowded it is the staff is efficient, prompt and pleasant. Tortilla chips and salsa refills keep coming without being asked for. Traditional Mexican menu always well done with very generous portions at a modest price. Not fine dining but a great value. The only thing good about this place are the very cheap prices and a very large $6 margarita at happy hour . BUT, You get what you pay for. Fajitas, lots of peppers and onions, not much meat. Shrimp looked boiled not grilled. My Poblano Rellenos were simply wrapped in a corn tortilla rather than fried in a batter as they should be. Very tasteless. 2 women ordered 1/2 portions of Fajitas(I heard them) and unbeknownst to them were given full portions(again mostly peppers and onions) and charged for the full portion. And when they brought it to the attention of the manager she rudely insinuated that they should have realized it by the size of the portion. How would they know? Not returning. We were in the mood for Mexican food and wandered into Casa Tequila. It's now on our list of go-to places for Mexican. Fancy? No. Delicious? Yes. Filling? Let's just say a "doggie" bag escorted us home... but none of the delicious leftovers went to the dog! The place was crowded on a Friday night (yes, this is Boca in "season"), as both inside and outside seats were full and people were waiting for a table. Casa Tequila takes reservations only for parties of 8 or more. Fortunately, the wait wasn't too long, and we were seated in the bar area. We were actually happy with this as the soft leather seats were quite comfy. The menu is extensive and offers the usual assortment of fajitas, tacos, enchiladas, burritos and more. They also feature several other seafood, meat and chicken entrees. The made-to-order chicken soup and seafood soup sounded delicious, and looked enticing as the people at table next to us were enjoying the large bowls of chicken soup. We gobbled up a complimentary basket of fresh, warm tortilla chips and a nice, chunky salsa. There were several types of hot sauce on the table that could be used to spice up the salsa. Ole! I ordered two chimichangas with chicken, which came with sides of rice and refried beans. The chimi's were excellent: flavorful and filling. The refried beans were overcooked though and were disappointing. The menu featured two chimichangas for just a few dollars more than a single chimi. I couldn't pass up that bargain. The second one came home with me as the first one was sufficient for a meal. My wife enjoyed her "super" chicken burrito with grilled chicken, although the quantity of chicken seemed fairly limited as compared to the large portion of rice and beans within the burrito. She opted for black beans instead of refried beans, which was a good choice in light of the overdone beans I was served. The quest for a nearby West Boca Happy Hour spot is complete! We sat at the bar and ordered 2 delicious margaritas! $5 margaritas until 7pm on weekdays!! I went with the chile relleno and chimichanga combination which came in a nice portion. They also brought out nachos with salsa -- the nachos were just made, hot and crispy. It's fun to sample all worlds and I will check out more of their combinations in the future. Half of this is Tuesday's lunch. Casa Tequila is our Saturday morning happy place! We are always greeted with a smile and the lovely servers remember our favorite orders. We like to sit in the big comfy chairs at the tables in the bar area. The free chips are always warm and the salsa is perfectly spicy. Order an Agua Fresca margarita - it's the best! Table side guacamole is so good. My husband loves the Pollo Mexicano and the Camarones Chipotle is a favorite of both of ours. The pork carnitas are to die for, as is the steak Jalisco. My coworkers and I decided to go for an after work, Friday night dinner and they recommended Casa Tequila. We got there just as the Friday night rush was starting, so they were thankfully able to seat our party of nine without much wait time. I liked that there was seating indoors and outdoors, large tables and booths, and bar seating. I think this would be a good place to go no matter what vibe you're seeking. I ordered a blood orange margarita and chicken fajitas. The fajitas were piping hot and served with rice, beans, lettuce, guac, pico, and sour cream. No skimping on the sides, which I appreciate! The margarita was fine, a little on the weak side and kind of tasteless. Honestly the only part of the meal I didn't like, the food was delicious. I had asked for some spicy salsa and I don't know what was brought out to me, but it was more like Tabasco. I ordered a veggie burrito that was fine. My husband ordered the pork carnitas. DO NOT ORDER!!!! There was A RUSTY WIRE INSIDE OF THE TACO! When we called the restaurant to let them know, the gentleman on the phone was honest with us... they let us know that the pork carnitas meat comes packaged with wires staples into the meat. We returned to Florida after 6 months in NY and couldn't wait to return to Casa Tequila. It's hard to believe but we don't have a decent Mexican restaurant near us. Just wish we had a Casa Tequila near us up there. It is a consistent WINNER !!! When we arrived close to 8 PM on a Wednesday night we expected to find the place crowded since it is the start of the season and also the mariachi band is there on Wednesday. There is plenty of parking right out front ... There are a few tables occupied out front but it is starting to rain a little so we head inside. It is also quite empty.. We are shown to a nice booth towards the back. A female server brings us complimentary chips but she has spicy salsa and we ask for the mild salsa. She leaves for a few minutes and returns with their YUMMY, fresh, crispy, addictive chips and the salsa with just the right amount of KICK to it. The rest of the meal is as good as ever.... very large portions of freshly prepared tasty food and a delicious exceptional, enormous red sangria. We have enough food left for another meal. Also enjoy the entertainment by the mariachis whose serenading we thoroughly enjoy. Such a relaxing accompaniment to an exceptional meal The vibe at Casa Tequila is relaxed and casual. After we have boxed up our leftovers we ask our server if Martha is around and she comes out to talk with us. We tell her we can't understand why the place isn't FULL... One of our favorite places in all S. Florida.... wonderful, very generous portions of exceptional, fresh, flavorful Mexican food at extremely reasonable prices and the service is good.
