When you arrive, you seat yourself. Gorgeous view of the beach from the table we selected! Server came by very quickly. The Dirty Monkey called my name bc of the banana cream rum. It actually had a tart taste. Wish I had seen the Tropical Flight bc I love to try different cocktails. My granddaughter could come in and that's why we chose this place. The weekdays Happy Hour looks amazing

Great Bar and great service. Bartender was kind and very attentive. I tried the Dirty Monkey and it was a great price for a BIG portion. Really good drink! It was Pina colada with banana rum, black rum, and a caramel drizzle

I love coming to this spot whenever I'm in Galveston. There's an amazing view of the ocean from the patio and the breeze is everything! For food today, I had the honey hot calamari as an appetizer, they were not good. They were not meaty at all very scarce I feel like I had more breading than anything honestly. I also got the honey hot wings and they were much much better and the fries were soooo good! I also had the frozen margarita flight, it was bomb. My server was attentive and very nice. Definitely recommend.

I love this place. Yes. Drinks are weak so I always get wine or cider. Most places serve weak drinks on the island unless it's a dive bar. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. It was my first time to order the shrimp cocktail. Yum! Today it was extra fun because we sat and watched people's reactions to getting a ticket for failing to pay parking at the Seawall. Lol

Once you find your way to the top this place is pretty cool. Nothing spectacular besides the view of the water. I'd agree with the posts about weak drinks. My BF said this drink (made part with 151 rum) would get my drunk, but the worst it did was give me an irritable hangover the next day These are tasty, though...

June 13th was when we visited. Busy spot but nice to sit and see the water. Good food. I loved the coconut rice, veggies & Diablo shrimp. Two of us got our food before the other even tho we all ordered at the same time and I had to ask again for my rice and veggies after everyone's food came. Waiters were eager to solve the issue.

The drinks were disgusting. Worst sangria and margaritas we have ever had. Only thing we enjoyed was the pina coloda.

Not a Tiki Bar. Their drinks are made with wine, not rum, so they taste nothing like traditional tiki drinks.

I'm all about tropical vibes so we made our way over for a nightcap. Located in a shopping center, parking won't be a problem. We were there pretty late on a Thursday night. Ambiance (4/5): Tiki bars are all about ambiance. Hawaii vibes. What's cool about The Great Kanakas Atomic Tiki Bar, outside of their excellent name, is that they're indoors but the bar makes you feel like you're actually outside. I liked the concept. Relaxed with the vibes you would expect at a tiki bar. Service (4.5/5): We sat at the bar and our bartender was attentive and friendly. She even recommended an off-the-menu drink that other folks like which was a nice touch. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet so I'm not even sure if they have food. Drinks (4/5): When you're at a tiki bar, you're looking for a creative mix of flavors with a nice presentation. I went with a cocktail with such a cool name that I couldn't say no. You'll know it when you see the menu. It's a long name, sounds very Hawaiian, and you'll have difficulty pronouncing it. You'll get a kick out of it. While the drink were solid, I've seen more elaborate tiki drinks elsewhere. I'm talking the type where fire is evolved or fancy garnishes. Overall: Clear Lake surprisingly has quite a few cool bars. This is one of them.

We tried a couple of drinks, and they were fine, and the bartender was patient and helpful. Perhaps it gets more interesting when it gets busier later at night, and sitting on the patio might be nice when the weather is cooler. This is just not what we're looking for in a cocktail bar, but YMMV..

I was on a mission to escape the hot humid tropicalesqe afternoon that is a Galveston Texas August day. Daiquiri Time Out popped up while spinning the Roulette Wheel that is Yelp. So,with door code in hand I headed out. Taking note of another Yelpers recommendation to arrive early as the place is small and fills up,we did. On the far edge of downtown in a non descript building this bar, billed as a speakeasy, sat. The sidewalk was melting under my feet as I walked towards the door. No entry code needed. After my eyes adjusted, what I saw wasn't what I expected. Dirty Dancing+Saturday Night Fever+Ms Kitty's Gun Smoke saloon had a strange feel. Ok, let's go. We, as the first guest of the soon to be 5'oclock crowd approached the bartender, alone behind a just right mixing station. After perusing a menu of specialties and being guided through a few questions,we ordered. The good- I found an interesting little place to beat the summer heat and enjoy a decent drink. Not so good- not as billed. Overall no quirkiness or unique qualities to write home about. No snackes served with each drink as described by others. Once the place started filling up and I started my second adult beverage, things were looking up. Go,but with lowered expectations.

Google is magic. I will say that no matter how fantastic the bar or options look, you will certainly have to bring it when it comes to making my favorite bevvie of choice. A group of Texas Realtors recently descended upon Galveston island for the annual TAR convention Sept 13th, 14th, & 15th. We were all wondering where to go one evening and luckily I was able to recommend this place --- thanks to "Yelp's A Beach" August 18th hot tip. Good- The location is fantastic!! Right next to "the Spot" and it's a stone's throw away from the beach. So the breeze coming off the Gulf in the evening is amazing!! It's the perfect blend of indoor/outdoor, you can choose to sit downstairs at the Margarita bar or upstairs overlooking the water. The multi-colored lighting creates a festive ambience and you can't help but be in a great mood. The decor is not too fancy or shabby either you could come straight from the beach or dress up for a night on the town. Now for the drinks ---- When I walked up to the bar and realized there was a wide selection of delightfully yummy sounding Margaritas to choose from I faced a major dilemma. Not only were there tons of options but also sizes. Unbelievably, you can choose 20oz up to an amazing 100oz-- I am assuming the jumbo size is for sharing with friends or at least one hopes. I finally settled upon the 20oz Margarita Sunrise, but the Mojito RIta was a close second in our group. They both were well made, on the rocks, and a solid 4 out of 5 limes in my book. Bad- You can't order Ritas upstairs, but you can take the ones you buy with you. Ugly- Nothing to report. I absolutely Loved it!!!!! Hope they franchise! I want one of these up on Lake Conroe.

It almost felt like a coffee shop... just with a different specialty beverage taking center stage. The atmosphere was cozy, relaxed, and welcoming. The staff were friendly and did a great job helping guests find something that matched their taste preferences, which I always appreciate. After grabbing a drink, I found a seat and waited for bingo to begin. While I was sitting there, I couldn't help but notice that this place seems to have built quite the community of regulars. There were gentle laughs floating around the room, inside jokes being shared, and an overall sense that people genuinely enjoyed spending time there. The lounge is also pet-friendly, which was a fun surprise. Looking around, I noticed a large selection of board games and card games available, along with a pool table tucked toward the back. It definitely feels like a place designed for people to settle in and stay awhile. When bingo started, it was well organized and a lot of fun. The prizes were actually worth winning, too which unfortunately I did not accomplish. Whomp whomp. lol Overall, I enjoyed my visit and can absolutely see why people become regulars here. While I'm not sure it would be a spot I'd frequently visit on my own, I do think it shines as a place to gather a few friends, sip on a drink, play some games, and enjoy a laid-back evening together. If you're looking for high-energy nightlife, this probably isn't it. But if you're looking for good company, cozy vibes, and a community feel, this lounge definitely has its charm.
