HardHeads in Crystal Beach is a great place to watch the game, get some cold beverages and enjoy a good time! We came between meals so ordered some nachos and funnel cake fries which were both really good. The funnel cake fries needed a little more powdered sugar so that's just what we added. My vodka cherry limeade was quite tasty! Go check the place out!

Crystal Beach ~ Hardheads I've had the pleasure of visiting Crystal Beach due to my family owning a fabulous beach house. It's miles of beach yet ironically it's not commercialized at all. You won't find a Walgreens etc. but there's one market for all of your food needs and a few bars and restaurants. My first night there was visiting this cute establishment. I wish I could've taken more pics but when you've just jumped off a plane, taken a two hour ride to then hop on the ferry to get here, it's tough. The food was great, service was sweet. I'll have to find the rest of the food pics but suffice to say, this place is worth visiting.

I will have to come back for a second chance for this one. Based on our first experience, it's just okay, barely. Our experience was on a Friday night, and I'm guessing for this place, busy. Our server looked pretty intimidated by everything, even a simple request for lemon looked like it may be rough. I did get the lemon though, so there's that. Smoking is rampant here In crystal beach, and allowed in this entire restaurant. Gross, no second visit is going to change that. I mean, wtf? Cigarettes kill Texans too. The super nachos ( probably not correct name) were really good. I enjoyed those more than my blackened catfish. I heard the ceviche was good, but I heard that about the fries too, and that was wrong. Still, we will probably go back for another visit at some point as we really like this little area.

Perfect for a Friday night. There was not a wait - we waited almost an hour last night at a different seafood spot. The fish bites were light and crispy as was the fried shrimp. The ranch was was bigger than normal. excellent meal!

This has to be one of the best go to restaurants in Crystal Beach area. We were acknowledged by the bartender as soon as we walked in. The service was impeccable, the decoration is interesting, and the vibe was friendly. The food was tasty! I like how they had fried pickles and fried jalapeños.. they were good not too spicy. The fried catfish filet was well seasoned and tasty, my only concern was the cole slaw that came with it (I forgot the name of the side), but it looked very sticky as if it had cheese or Xanthan gum. The chicken fried steak sandwich was good just add a bit of mustard and ketchup to taste since it does not come with gravy. I think the gravy would add a nice touch to the dish, but then again it is chicken fried steak in a sandwich/burger style. Ooh and the sweet tea was refreshingly delicious!

I was visiting from out of town at a beach house a family friend kindly let us use and she said we absolutely had to stop in for dinner here one evening. We were a larger group of 8 but they had no problem accommodating us. They don't take reservations but we called earlier in the day and they told us when to come in for dinner service (6 on the dot) and they had an area set up for our group. I can't rave enough about this place. The service was impeccable and every staff we interacted with so, so friendly and welcoming to us. Most of our table went with their many diverse seafood options and said how delicious everything was. I wasn't in a seafood mood and opted instead for the grilled chicken smothered with bell peppers and mushrooms. I was genuinely shocked by how moist and juicy the chicken was and loved the blackened cajun seasoning used on it. The salad that comes with the entree was also a VERY generous size and you could easily get filled up on it if not careful. No visit to Bolivar will complete now without stopping into Stingaree from now on.

Everything was delicious, but the surprise star was the mango habanero dipping sauce. 10/10. Hush puppies dipped in that were amazing. Really anything... it paired with the oysters or shrimp, too. The coleslaw was the only miss, but it's complimentary. Mine was a bit frozen still and relatively flavorless. Skip it and you'll be just as happy. The desserts were all amazing. Chocolate cake and key lime pie were HUGE and great. The ... Chocolate torte... I think it was... was excellent. I'm not gluten sensitive, it was just worth trying. Our waitress, Kristina, was patient with the kids and all our questions. Such a great place. If we weren't stuffed to the girls, we'd consider hitting it up for supper before leaving town.

I dove directly into my coconut shrimp and forgot to take a photo. I actually finished the plate which is a major rarity for me. I also tried the hush puppies and cilantro lime rice (with COCONUT!)... both of which are the best I've had in this entire area. The hush puppies have the perfect amount of jalapeño in them. For drinks, I had a loaded landshark (always refreshing and lovely) and a frozen house margarita. Yum! The only thing I'd recommend they improve upon is the indoor chair material. Fabric is never a good option, especially in a kid-friendly place. While comfortable, it's not worth the messes that get stuck to them. I had to switch chairs around and settle for the least dirty one. It's not a good look and no one wants to sit atop another person's spill.

We met on the early side of the evening and were seated right away. Our server was super nice and very helpful. We ordered drinks and later ordered our meals. The drinks were tasty. I ordered the Fried Seafood Platter. It was very good and had a lot of seafood on it. I ate less than half of it and took the rest home for dinner the next night. My wife ordered Fish Tacos and felt they were "okay" - not extraordinary. She too took half her meal home to eat the next day. I also want to add that we rode up the elevator with the Food and Beverage Manager and he was quite pleasant. In fact, every employee we met at Fin's greeted us warmly and were quite cheery. We'll eat at Fin's next year when we return.

The staff acted irritated from the moment we walked in, the beer ordered wasn't cold, and the gin drink tasted like somebody rinsed a pine tree with sugar water and charged $14 for it. Then came the food. Somehow they created a salad with absolutely no flavor, which honestly deserves research funding. The broiled seafood platter we ordered looked like it had hit the kitchen floor and got plated anyway. Bland fish, rubber shrimp with the texture of hot erasers, and that poor crab died in vain for that disaster. The vegetables had been steamed to within an inch of their lives, then apparently bullied the rest of the way. Lastly, the shrimp frogs that were supposed to come with the platter must've hopped away before the plate made it to the table. Do yourself a favor and pass on this place like it owes you money.

It is only $10 and includes a single smash burger, a small fry, a chocolate chip cookie and a can of soda/fountain drink. Food: Let me tell you that this is one of my favorite burgers of all time. I got it with cheddar cheese, pickles, mustard and bbq sauce. Delicious! The fries and the cookie were also good. The first time I came, I opted for the fountain drink. I don't know if this was a one-off, but it was awful. Sickeningly sweet. I ended up throwing it away. Second time, I chose the canned soda (coke). This is one of the best values that I have encountered in a long time. I suggest that you eat it here. My to-go order was good but I really enjoyed it hot and fresh off the griddle. Full disclosure, when I got it to go, I did take it all the way back to the West End (about a 25 minute drive). I really recommend that you give this place a try.
