I was torn between choosing Tiki on 18th vs. another spot for dinner, and I'm slightly disappointed that I went with Tiki. Though the vibes of the restaurant and surrounding area were fun, the actual service, drinks, and food were lackluster. Drinks: - Pandan Painkiller (4/5): Good pandan flavor but a bit too sweet, was disappointed it didn't come in a tiki glass - Espresso Martini (1/5): Tasted watered down and off Food: - Calamares (5/5): Great crunch & flavor- was a hit at our table - Buko Shrimp (3/5): Flavor and texture could have been more prominent but I always enjoy coconut shrimp - Spicy Pork Sisig (3/5): Usually my favorite Filipino food, this dish lacked the usual crunch and depth of flavor - Salmon Curry (4/5): Overall tasty - Garlic Rice (3/5): Thought this would be sinangag (fried rice) but it was mostly steamed white rice with the suggestion of garlic flavor This might be a good spot to go when everyone's already warmed up for the night after dinner, but wouldn't be the place to be for the main event. - Ambiance: 5/5 - Food: 3/5 - Service: 3/5
Decided to try Tiki on 18th. Host is outside and he'll lead you to the dining area. It's a lit vibe. Service was ok but felt a bit off with the waitress. A different waiter almost brought our food to the wrong table. Probably one of the worst espresso martinis I've ever had. Had a friend try a sip and she agreed. Pandan Painkiller was a better cocktail but a bit too sweet. Food was not memorable either. Only enjoyed the buko shrimp and calamari. Salmon curry was ok. Not crazy about the mumbo wings; flavor could be more savory. Garlic rice did not have any taste and rice was hard to chew. Spicy pork sisig was not my type of dish (worth trying once). Automatic 20% tip regardless of party size. I probably wouldn't dine here again if I'm ever in the DC area.
Really good tiki bar. We got two drinks. I got one with coconut in it. I'm always afraid that tiki drinks are going to be too sweet, but it was just faint and delicious. That drink was called Trade Winds, and the staff was really friendly. We'd for sure come back.
First, we really appreciate the restaurant for being so accommodating. We had a last minute add-on and there were no issues with seating everyone. FOOD IS SOOOOO DELICIOUS! The veggie pancit was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavors. Chicken sisig was savory, sizzling, and irresistibly bold -- a Filipino comfort food classic with serious personality. Each bite was a perfect balance -- smoky, salty, tangy, and spicy! COCKTAILS - creative and quality! Can't wait to come back to try them all. The restaurant has a cool yet hip vibe. Dark with great music, not too intimate but also good for families. Bonus - very clean bathrooms!
We tried this place on the Restaurant Week for $40, and I personally think that the food is delicious and a good portion. The main course is a decent serving and can fill two ppl. I really love the dessert options. The turones and sweet saba were both really yummy and hits the spot. This is one of the Filipino restaurants that reminds me of what home cooked meal tastes like. The barista/owner? is also very nice and accommodating. The place is cozy and decorations are very artistic.
Continuing our tradition of decompressing at tiki bars, we saw that several recommended tiki bars in DC have closed in the past few years and headed to Tiki on 18th. All of the drinks on the menu (classic and bar-specific tiki drinks) looked like a good time and we enjoyed the ones we ordered. The vibe was chill on a Thursday night, the service was a bit slow (maybe because it was towards the end of their open hours), and the venue had a live DJ playing vintage and nautical mixes.
I visited Tiki on18th about a year ago while in Adams Morgan, Washington D.C., and it's been living rent-free in my head ever since. Being in California, I can't just pop over there again, but honestly, it's so good that it's worth the shout-out even a year later. They have this fun Tiki bar vibe that's totally Instagram-worthy. We're talking cocktails served in mini bathtubs and coconut milk cans. And trust me, the drinks don't just look good, they hit that perfect spot where the table gets louder and happier with every round. On the food side, they do these incredible Filipino dishes that still have me drooling when I think about them. Their pancit canton was perfectly balanced, salty, citrusy, with just the right crunch of veggies. Their lumpiang shanghai was crispy perfection, and the spicy chicken sisig, omg, I can still taste that crispy, citrusy goodness topped with an egg. It's the kind of dish you crave long after you leave. My favorite thing was their bagoong fried rice, it is rice with shrimp paste and topped with crispy pork belly and a mango salsa, it was the perfect mix of flavors and I really wish I could have some right now! They've got some menu staples and some rotating dishes, so there's always a reason to go back and try something new. And for my kids they had burgers and my daughter still says it's the best burger she's ever had. That's saying a lot! Their ube cheesecake is a dream. It's not too sweet, has this perfectly smooth texture and a crust that's just the right amount of crumbly. The halo-halo is the ultimate refreshing treat on a hot day. Basically, whether you're there for a girls' night, guys' night, or a family dinner, you're going to have an amazing time. And I have to shout out Jojo, the owner, who's incredibly welcoming and really makes you feel at home. I only wish we had one of these in California! If you're in D.C., do yourself a favor and go. You won't be disappointed.
Still loving this place so much! The Christmas/holiday menu rocks as always. Great drinks, reasonable prices. The hot cocoa with rum and the "snickerdoodle" were both great. The "milk and cookies" was also enjoyable! We had great service and so much fun. The place is now Tiki throughout and no more sports bar. The downstairs is fully renovated with a chill vibe.
This is a chill little spot that we decided to go to after a drag brunch. The weather was nice and their patio looked great. There were several tables and had happy hour on a weekend. Although the place was empty we really didn't see our server too many times, it wasn't totally big of a deal until we wanted to order more drinks and then we're waiting for said drinks. When we finally got them, mine was actually the wrong drink. To avoid the hassle i just kept it since it tasted fine. Overall it was a chill spot i would go back to for a good patio spot.
We just happened to come up on this place the night of the commanders playoff game and glad me made it before it got real busy. We walked in and it was packed with the commanders fans all bundled up in their gear. We just lucked up on a 3-chair table top and sat down. We all got another round of drinks and ordered more food. One friends ordered a burger and fries, the other some wings, and my greedy always hungry self ordered the sizzling chopped up chicken thighs and a side or garlic rice! OMG Batman! It was the business you hear me! Came out like sizzling fajitas on the player and the picture shows. I goggled it up like it was my last meal. So wish I would have took one to go...but it was getting late and the fans were piling in so after we finished our meals we dipped. Cute little DC bar with door major great food options!
COOLEST DRINKS EVER!!!! Checked out Tiki on 18th with my cousin and we had a blast! They have a pretty cool cocktail hour and ever cooler glasses that your drinks come in. Somewhere between the bar and my table I met JoJo, the owner, and he said we had to check out the newly renovated basement. And that's exactly what we did. It was a pretty cool tropical vibe with a huge bar wall filled with liquor. I took about 100 photos. The space is beautiful, the food was delicious and the drinks were great, I especially loved that they had mocktails so I could enjoy as well. Our wait staff was super sweet, everyone had a great night. Can't wait to go back! Great service. Good vibe. Strong cocktails. It's not an "authentic" Filipino restaurant, but it's wonderful as Filipino fusion restaurant/bar/gastropub.
Grabbed another restaurant week deal here. My first time going here. They have outside street seating and an upper and lower level inside seating. It's somewhat of a small restaurant, but, has ample seating. The service was spot on, no issues. As far as the meal. The temperature was spot on, freshly prepared. The size of the portions were really good for the price, the flavor of the dishes needs to be kicked up a little, kinda missing that wow factor. The Beef Pares had very tender chunks of meat, I think it would have been a little with stir-fry garlic rice, but still good. The Pansit had some amazing crispy pieces pork in it, the appetizers were good, the Maruya needed some honey drizzle on it and you couldn't taste the bananas. Overall it was a good experience and I would go back again. Try it out.
I ate here a few weeks ago. I saw a post on IG and thought the interior looked nice, so wanted to check it out. It looked a lot more spacious online than in person. It's actually quite a small space, and fairly narrow so it's not the type of restaurant that would accommodate a large group. I thought the menu was pretty extensive, and I was excited to try Filipino food as I've never eaten it before. We started with the Lumpiang Shanghai which are spring rolls. Those were nice and crisp. My friend also ordered the Camaron Rebosado which is similar to a bang bang shrimp. I really liked that. For my entree, I ordered the Ginataang Salmon at Kalabasa which was a salmon dish. The salmon was well cooked and had a nice presentation. It wasn't anything that struck me as something I haven't eaten before, so I would opt to try something different next time. My boyfriend ordered the Spicy Vegan Sisig and that was very tasty. He really enjoyed it. My friend ordered the Chicken Inasal and her dish looked very tasty. I tried some of her rice which was Java rice, and it reminded me a bit of Nigerian jollof rice. I would definitely order that next time if I return. I thought the service was pretty good. Drinks could have been stronger. Probably would go there for food next time, but not for their drinks. read more

I'm always looking for a Filipino restaurant when I'm at a new state and this place didn't disappoint! It felt like being home. They had a couple "street foods" in their menu that we tried like the "kwek kwek", and their chicken skin. They had an Ube Pinacolada and I'd come back just for it! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone traveling in the DC area that's looking for a unique Filipino dining experience. read more

First time having Filipino food and really really enjoyed this spot! Great service and fun lighting/decor that makes it feel like a late summer night even in the winter! Def will be really fun in the summer with tropical drinks and patio vibes. Here's a rundown of what I got (also actually obsessed with everything): - Mango Cooler cocktail: fun mango drink, came in a cute panda cup and was super refreshing! - One love cocktail: pineapple and coconut flavors made this drink taste like summer! Really loved the tropical vibes - Lumpiang gulay (mushroom & pork): skinny crunchy eggroll type app, really loved the vinegar dipping sauce too! - Bbq chicken sliders: tasty with huge chunks of tender chicken, yum yum sauce was really good on top - Spicy Chicken Sisig (added garlic rice): loved the presentation (came out sizzling) and enjoyed the flavors (chicken liver aioli & crispy chicken skins)! To start this review has nothing to do with the food. I am completely appalled about how this business handles their customer complications. I have been in the restaurant business for many many years. Worked my way from dishwasher through every position in the restaurant world for 18+ years. Worked hard to earn my highest title as assistant f&b. So when I tell you about professionalism in the hospitality industry it matters. These are the people that shape your community that bring that word of mouth business. People walk through different shades of life and you never know what someone is facing behind that smile or the tears. So when a customer comes to you with respect and kindness to handle a certain matter. You don't blow them off. However, since they don't care about my business why should I? Facts: 1) I won a $50 giveaway with "hypefoodies" in 2022, had some issues getting my gift card the first go around. This was communicated through my main account @sammichangarcia. Went through the death of my grandmother and a lot of family issues going on. Never had the chance to redeem it. 2) I reached out to them last month by giving the restaurant a call and asked to speak with a manager. I came across my gift certificate and noticed I never got around to redeeming it on time due to all the issues going on in with my family. I'll attach what I wrote to the social media account that reached out to me on the beginning. So you can see how rude they kept on being. 3) I gave them one last touch base and they completely ignored me after lying about being able to handle the situation... the least they could have done was either say no to assisting me or give me an answer. UNPROFESSIONAL. Thank you for showing your true colors and even if you all had said no to reissuing My gift certificate I still would have came to try your business, but because of how everything was handled you lost more than just me. read more
There are 3 seating areas : indoor (tiki theme), outdoor, and the sports bar at the bottom. Our waitress was so kind and answered all of our questions! I have been here previously with a few friends for drinks and they were amazing! Went back and realized that they had a food menu. The fries were definitely my favorite part along with the shrimp eggrolls. The quail eggs were interesting but overall, I wasn't impressed. Also not a huge fan of the fried chicken skin. The patio was fun, even on a rainy day when we went. And the service was good- especially for it being such crappy weather! We just had drinks and for me I wasn't a huge fan because immediately upon drinking it I started to get a headache- however, I don't fault the business for me not liking what I chose to order. The presentation of the drinks was so fun! On a different day I would try something else that's a bit less sweet and forgo the blue carecau because that's a guaranteed headache for me. I wanted to lean into the tiki theme though and give it a shot. Overall, definitely worth checking out the patio it's super cute and there's a variety of fun drinks to try and good looking apps as well. $30.36 (food: spicy chicken sisig, garlic rice. drink: water.) Tiki on 18th monologue: I really had no idea what this place was. I saw tiki on the outside (well, on the inside too when I went to the bathroom) and I saw Asian food on the menu. Yeah I was bit confused on the food mode I was to put myself in. When I got greeted by the waitress, Nkechi, she explained the dynamic of where I was. That helped my taste buds get ready for the items I ordered. Let's get into this dish. Yum, yum and yes yes yummmm, with the garlic rice. These items were new to me and will certainly not be the last time I try them. Oh, Nkechi recommended I try the garlic rice with my dish. Great recommendation. If you know this area, then you know that sitting outside is a great option. People watching is a thing! It was great entertainment while I was enjoying my meal. P.s. - I saw a french toast dish on the brunch menu that I really need to try. So yup, I'll be back for that. read more

Great happy hour spot! Love that their happy hour runs until 7pm. Drinks are always solid but I really like their mango cooler and Basic Beach - more tropical flavors. My friends also recommend the Mai Tai and the Saturn. Food deals are great as well during happy hour. I like the Mumbo Tofu and the Lumpiang Gulay. You can't go wrong with their happy hour menu. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I love their patio seating which is great during the warm weather but they also have heaters when it's cold out, making it a nice place to hang throughout the year. Service is always 10/10! Can't wait to be back for brunch or dinner! read more

Came for happy hour and loved it! The happy hour burgers were so unique and a great deal at $12. The lumpia were nice and crispy, and the mango salad with shrimp paste had the perfect about of funkiness to it. The drinks are also appropriately strong and super yummy. Dropped by for the first time after being in the area. A friend and I had heard good things, so we came in to share the Kahiko Punch. The drink was really good and was a great size to share. It was a very cute aesthetic inside and I loved the outdoor seating (it was just too windy to enjoy) so we opted to sit at the bar. However, the bartender was extremely dry so the attitude did not match the ambiance. I'm undecided as to if I'd return. read more
If you're looking for a happy hour spot with amazing drinks and great food this Tiki Bar should be your next spot. Their food is really delicious like that shrimp and the pork skewers! I really enjoyed their salted shrimp, it's some of the best shrimp I've ever had! This is a great bar with seasonal decorations and unique signature cups for each cocktail. This review might be a little biased as we had such a large party, we were able to have the place to ourselves. Tiki on 18th is located in the heart of Adams Morgan so be warned, parking is not the easiest thing to do in this area. We parked about 20 minutes away from here (walking) near some apartments. They offer a menu of modernized Filipino dishes along with tiki bar drinks. Let's start with the drinks... if you're sensitive to sweet drinks, only have 1 or 2. They're very good but I felt the aftermath the next day after a handful of them. Foodwise, we were asked to send over some dishes so that they could be prepared but it took so long for the food to come out. By the time the mains were brought out, we had filled up so much on the lumpia, bbq skewers and cheese sticks, we were not that hungry. When the mains did come out, I had enough of an appetite to try the chicken sisig and the chicken was very good. Very tender pieces of thigh with spice from the chilis. I would consider coming here again to try some of their other dishes. read more

This was a fun tiki bar! We stopped here during happy hour while in town for a conference and we had a larger group, so we were seated outside in a parklet. Thankfully the service did not suffer given that we weren't inside the restaurant and we had good service overall. We all had a variety of tiki drinks and they were creative and very tasty. We had also never had lumpia before, so we were very excited to try it. We tried every kind they had on the menu and some were so good that we got extra orders of them! This place was so much fun and we would definitely come back for lumpia and some great cocktails! read more
One of my favorite place to grab drinks and one of the best outdoor patios AND best happy hours in Adams Morgan! (Lol giving it a lot of accolades!!) The inside is very cute too albeit a bit small (second floor of The Game). It checks off all the boxes. Cute mugs and cups? Check. Different seasonal beverages? Check! Happy hour from 4-7pm ? Check! Supporting local/Filipino business? Check! Good service? Yup, that too! Some of my most frequent drinks are the saturn, rum barrel, and mango cooler (all of which are on happy hour! for $8). I also like the zombie - anything rum makes me happy! They also have non alcoholic drinks. I also love that currently they have holiday drinks. They have DJs and late night food menu almost every night. The best part is often nights, except maybe when it's undeniably gorgeous outside, you can usually get seated quickly. You can enjoy some of the food from the Game too. I love that this is a Filipino spot because hurray for more FilAm representation. My fav Filipino food it on the menu is the sisig and it's pretty spicy! I came for brunch only once and I did find the food to be a bit dry so that's why I subtract a point! Unfortunately for vegetarians I'm not a fan of their tofu options. Overall food is good though and they have Filipino desserts too! I'm obviously a huge fan because I come here multiple times a month sometimes. read more

Had a great happy hour experience at Tiki on 18th! Great food and drink options are available and the staff were so friendly. The inside is really cute with fun decor, but they also have patio outdoor dining as well. We were a party of 8 so we made a reservation beforehand. Due to traffic we knew we'd be running late so we called to make sure it was ok and they were super accommodating. When we arrived our table was ready for us and we were able to order right away. Most of us got their mango cooler drink which was delicious! All our drinks came in really cool glasses too. For food I got their tofu which was amazing. It had a sweet chili sauce in it with some arugula and overall really good. Some others got their chicken sliders and cheese sticks and all were delicious. I love that their happy hour menu included both food and drinks, and from everything we ordered nothing disappointed. Highly recommended coming here for happy hour, and would love to try their brunch or dinner sometime too! read more
Second time at Tiki on 18th! It was such a cute Hawaiian themed bar! It was very empty & we got a seat immediately. There were 8 of us and we got the cute window seat! They had different flavor mimosas but we stuck with the original OJ! We got a few apps and they were super tasty! Would def go back again! :) read more

My husband and I went here recently and enjoyed the chance to try something new. They have a small interior but patio seating as well right outside the restaurant. We sat outside with a friend. Service was okay. My only complaint is that we asked for a bit more time before ordering and once we were ready, we saw our server approach a couple other tables before disappearing for a while. When I went inside to use the restroom, I saw the staff was having some sort of meeting by the bar. This would have been fine had our server stopped by our table to check in or let us know before doing this (we would have even placed our order). Eventually another person came to take our order. The food was fine, satisfactory. Once we finished, it started to rain and started coming pretty hard. We were even feeling it through their covered structure. The food was good. Overall our visit was okay. read more

Honestly, go here for the drinks -which are delicious. And maybe the regular menu is better, but brunch definitely was just meh. We got: lumpiang Shanghai, lumpiang gulay, keso demonyo (which is cheesy and jalapeno wrapped in egg roll wrapper and deep fried), the shrimp sliders and the spam sliders. Get the keso demonyo. The lumpia was good but really greasy. The gulay was better than the Shanghai. We ordered mochi Ube waffles, loco Moco, the bartender plate thing, and garlic rice. Nothing really hit, the garlic rice was kinda mushy since it's short grain rice. We were disappointed that sisig wasn't available. The drinks tho? Yes. Yes get them all. Four stars for the drinks. read more

Cute place to hang out on a Wednesday night for their holiday themed bar setting! I got their Naughty drink and it tasted great! Basically tasted like Sprite with a faint vodka taste. I wish I could have taken the ornament home though. Their Filipino food is pretty decent too in my opinion. I'd probably need to try more of it to make an opinion since I only had a few bites. Service was very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend for a chill hanging out before the holidays end! read more
This rating is hard because the service is excellent and the food good, but the drinks are weak and the patio chairs are super uncomfortable. I forget our server's name but she was sweet and funny. I had the nitro strawberry daiquiri and the Three Dots and a Dash. The daiquiri was good but small and I thought it would have more froth, since it was nitro. I was unimpressed with the other drink. My ube chicken and waffles were delicious. Perfectly crisp and flavorful, it was one of the best versions I've had. The table also shared funnel fries which were delicious. I appreciate all the shade on the patio from the tiki umbrellas but the seats were unbelievably uncomfortable and they need to do better with their patio furniture. To start off, this place has so much potential, but it falls short in service and prices. I met with some coworkers here for happy hour. It's a cute place and the ambiance is tropical and fun. We sat outside which was nice with the weather. As for food, the appetizers are pretty pricey, but you get a good amount of food. I decided to go with the waitress' recommendation, which was the shrimp bazookas and added the BBQ chicken sliders. SO good! My favorite was definitely the shrimp bazookas! The drinks, however, were a huge disappointment. I ordered a zero proof pina colada, which was good, but extremely overpriced with the amount of drink you receive. I had about a solid 5 sips out of the drink and it was nearly gone. I told the waiter and showed him how the drink was all ice. He apologized (nice guy) and explained it was how the drink was made. The waiter said he would remove it from the bill. I asked later if it could just be remade. He said it could be remade if I didn't mind paying for it. Instead of remaking it, he added another drink to our bill. I was charged twice for this drink, which is not what we had discussed. When I received the "remade" drink, it was in a smaller cup, which he warned me about. It tasted exactly the same without all of the ice, so it seemed they were being dishonest. It felt like they didn't want to give you a lot of drink for your money and there's not even alcohol in it! It could understand if there was, but there was not. The desserts are also overpriced, so we decided to skip those. I would love to visit again, but I'm now hesitant given I was overcharged and feel their drinks aren't worth the hassle. The waiter was sweet, but he didn't seem to know how to handle the drink situation. Honestly not a great first experience, but I'm open to trying Tiki again since the food was decent. read more
Not a fan. I usually love tiki bar establishments so I wanted to see what this one was about Ambiance This is what tiki bars, usually, spend time and effort on . To give one the tropical vibe. There's not much of that happening here . There no Hawaiian or island music. We sat on the sidewalk. Came to Tiki as part of a Christmas bar crawl my friends and I were doing. They had some fun holiday drinks and the food was delicious! I'm generally not a rum person, but all the drinks here are well balanced so they're not too sweet or sunscreen tasting. We did 3 different lumpia, Lumpiang Shanghai (pork and mushroom spring rolls with sweet mango-chili vinegar), Buff Chix (buffalo chicken, celery, and carrot spring rolls, with blue cheese dip) and Cheese Stix (mozzarella and cheddar cheese spring rolls with Jufran aioli) and they were all really tasty. I'd come back for those alone! We also got Jo-Jo's Pansit (crispy pork belly, vegetables, soy sauce, mushroom stock, cornstarch noodles, lemon) which was great. read more
Brought a friend and enjoyed the outdoor dining; it was a great environment and service was quick and friendly. We weren't expecting the app servings sizes to be so big and we're pleasantly surprised. Everything was very delicious including our cocktails! read more
Great outdoor space! Brunch on weekends are relaxing and cater to morning drinkers. Menu is limited but has some good items. Been a fan of this place foe a long time. 1. Good Filipino food 2. Late hours 3. Friendly service. Adams Morgan has slowed a lot since the pandemic. The good is places like this have found a way to encourage people to come and stick around safely. The downside is that it has lost some of the uniqueness by limiting the menu. Will be back as it is comfortable. And will try broader menu options. Or come back when alcohol is what's being craved. read more
