I ultimately declined the appointment and said I would wait until my next scheduled visit. The owner then replied that I should find another salon that could better meet my needs. It's disappointing, as I truly liked my stylist and had enjoyed my experiences there up until this point. I suppose the moral of the story is that how a business handles customer concerns says as much about its professionalism as the quality of its work.

When I removed them, my natural nail looks horrible. She was very quick with the process too. No taking her time for quality of the nails. The acrylic nails started looking bad the 3rd day I had them. They were also way too thick, which probably is the reason why my real nails hurt when they were on. I guess it's hit or miss with the customers and who is going to have a great experience. Everyone should have a great experience that walks through that door. I even tipped $20, which was unnecessary. They lost a good paying customer. I will not be returning.

The woman at the desk told me she would take care of the cancellation. Never did she say anything about requiring a written cancellation in order for it to be effective. Three months later I was told that I was behind three months of membership. I explained what had happened & was asked if I had proof. Of course I did not since it was verbal. They then turned the account over to collections. I once again disputed the charges in writing. Malibu came back & said that they would not waive the fees. In order to avoid this showing up on my credit report, & for that reason only, I finally paid the charges. At that time I again explained the situation & said that I strongly disputed the charges. In my mind, I did nothing wrong. I cancelled my membership & was told that it would be taken care of. I don't see it as my fault that their employee deviated from their rules. Additionally, our family does have another membership with them that had not been cancelled. It also had not been used in some time. So, Malibu has made a few hundred dollars off of that membership without having to perform. That should have been enough for them to believe my situation & waive the fees. That membership will now be cancelled as well. Any future business from our family will be taken elsewhere. We will also not recommend Malibu to any friends. This situation has resulted in a loss of revenue & unhappy customers. Poorly handled Malibu.
