I was craving some Mexican food this weekend so I decided to check out a new spot I recently heard about, Tikismexicangrill. This spot is north of St Pete, actually Kenneth City. It is located in an older plaza and is somewhat hard to see from the road. I called in my order, so this review focuses on the food. I decided to try some tacos and a quesadilla. I went with a pastor, carne asada, and tinga taco. I saw they offered birria and decided to try a birria quesadilla. They said it would be 15 minutes which worked out well. I arrived and they had my order ready. I paid and walked out to the car to find only one box in my bag and it felt a bit light. I found 4 tacos in my box instead of the 3 I ordered and a quesadilla. I went back in and told them about the issue and they tossed a quesadilla on for me. It came up quickly and I was on my way. They were good about making it right. I got home and dove in. The birria taco looked great and also tasted great. The consume was on point as well. It was nice to find another solid option for birria close to St Pete. The chicken tinga was really tasty as was the carne asada & pastor. All of the tacos had a generous amount of filling. The birria quesadilla was hefty and quite filling. I had hoped it would be served with the consume, but it was not. They packed it with a solid amount of cheese and meat. The sauces that were served with the tacos and quesadilla all had great flavor and a decent amount of heat. Overall, the food was quite good. There was some confusion with the order, but they made it right quickly and I was happy with the way they handled it. The birria taco was on point and I really look forward to having a few more of those. I will definitely return in the near future to enjoy some of their other menu items. read more

I love to support local businesses and love Mexican. The first time was takeout and my food was excellent and food fresh. Second time, we choose to dine in and Quesa birilia taco preparation was not the same and we were all disappointed with our tacos and nachos. I made the waitress aware, she seemed clueless as to what to say. We paid and left. I am posting pictures from my first takeout, again, the better experience. Stopped in after a long and particularly exhausting day at work, in need of taco therapy. Tikis did not disappoint! The el pastor was good but the birria carne asada was the best taco birria I've had! I also had an elote which was tasty but cold. Jamaica was perfect. I'll definitely be back! Decided to visit this new restaurant in Kenneth City. While waiting for our food I decided to open a Yelp page for them. It took a little while to get food because they were fixing a large to go order. Hubby got 3 tacos and said they were delicious. I do not eat meat or dairy so ordered some black beans and rice along with a tostada with black beans, veggies and no cheese. The beans were delicious but runny and blended. So next time I will request a mixture of rice and beans rather than just beans. We shall return, it's nice to have another spot here in Kenneth City. I do hope they get a better understanding of no meat and no dairy. read more

VERY RUDE!!!! i am a first time customer. the food was disgusting, the workers were very rude. considering i'm an african american i got called a "bitch" and got told to "get the fuck out of here" i've never got disrespected like this before. fast forward i tried to sit back down at the table and wait for a manager to come and the worker named Jonathan literally walked up behind me and took away the chairs and the table. if i could give this no stars i would. literally the worst service i have ever had at a restaurant, the servers were nice but took 40 minutes to come and refill our drinks and chips. There were 3 tables in the whole restaurant including us and it took us an hour and a half to get our food. the burrito we ordered had a hair in it, the salsa and queso were very bland, the queso was genuinely just melted cheese. my tacos were fine i guess, but didn't have much flavor and were loaded with cilantro even though I asked for no cilantro. Horrible service, we had to ask for another drink. I would totally not even complain if they were busy but with only 5 total customers at the time it's unacceptable. Food was bland, salsa was so thick and frozen you needed a fork to even eat it. The margarita I ordered tasted like water. Called to order a burrito the guy told me to wait then left me on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. Went in to order the burrito for takeout in person. Waited another 40 minutes before they told me they were waiting on takeout boxes but that they would be there soon. Then waited another 15 min before I decided to just eat there. The server then brought out the wrong order and I decided to just get a refund after an hour of waiting. I'm a regular customer here and 03/13/2021 I brought a friend of mine to try out their Quesabrilla tacos and was disappointed that our tacos weren't prepped as usual nor cooked the way Quesabrilla tacos are made. I politely mention to my server that this isn't how the tacos are usually made, that I come here twice a week and would know and she states they are being rushed because they have a private party approaching and can't deal with something of the sort at the moment. We ask for the check because even though we didn't get enjoy the food, we were still going to pay, the young man stated ok. About 10 minutes later after still not receiving got our checks my friend asks for the check again and the young boy then stated we need to get up and pay at the register. So we did so, my friend then asks to speak to a manager and we got denied access to a manager because he was "busy" so we stated we'd wait. We went to return to our table and the young man picked up the table and moved it so we no longer had access to it. The young man then goes to the back and yells "get these bitches out of here." About 10 minutes after that the owner apologizes about his employees behavior that it's probably his first job and doesn't know any better then states he never has complaints about his tacos and to make us happy we didn't have to pay. Which paying never was an issue but because we were two black females he racially profiled us as if we were hard for the money. Then we stated we'd like to stay here while we write up a review and was told that the place was closed now at 8:00pm when online it says 12am.
