Definitely a spot with potential, and up front, I'd recommend trying them out. So I got this via delivery since I arrived in town late and was ready to eat and call it a night. Unfortunately, there was no option to request utensils and they didn't include any, so this whole meal was a bust. I'm not taking that out on the review here, just making a note so hopefully they take note to include that option. The hotel I was in didn't have any, and most places around were closing so I was out of luck. I ended up having to fashion some sort of scoop out of the styrofoam container that the rice came in. Did it work? No. But was it at least serviceable? Also no. It was a freaking mess and I basically ended up pitching it. But from what I could taste in between dripping bites all over my hotel room was pretty good! I went with the basics and got a chicken tikka masala. It was not quite the medium spice level, so I'd round up if you like spicey. The chicken was great quality; very tender and flavorful, definitely the highlight. The vegetable samosas were nice and easy to eat so I had two of these which are always good. Same feedback as above, needs a little more spice and flavor in the filling but solid. So all in all, in the unique situation of arriving late and getting hung out to dry on utensils, not great. But the food and prices and everything else were fair to good, so I kind of land in the middle with this one. read more

The food tasted great, but the spice level left a lot to be desired. My partner ordered Spicy and felt it was still lacking in hard hitting spice. I ordered Chicken Vindaloo and got spice level: spicy because, after ordering hot from other Indian restaurants, I was afraid to order extra spicy but since spicy was more like mild maybe extra spicy would've been at least medium. It was not spicy at all and was pretty bland. I only ordered from here because the place I wanted to order from couldn't take any orders at the time. I'm sure they were busy because their food is excellent!! Bombay Grill has a 4.8 rating so I thought they must be good. Wrong!! Idk how they have a 4.8 rating! I put some scorpion hot sauce on the vindaloo to make it hot but it just didn't have the good vindaloo taste it should have. Won't be ordering from here again! I'm a big fan of Indian food and I typically order it when I'm on the road. So after settling into my hotel room during a trip to Louisville, I did a quick search on Yelp and found Tikka House. Fellow Yelp Elite Emily H. had great things to say so I was sold. They also had my favorite dish. Ding, ding! I ordered for pickup directly off their website and was given a 20 minute wait time. When I arrived, there was plenty of parking out front, as it's in a small strip mall. When I walked in no one greeted me. I called out for someone a few times... nothing. After several minutes I noticed my food sitting on a table behind the counter. After calling out again and not getting an answer, I grabbed my food and left. It was paid for and I was hungry so I peaced out. Once I got back to my room I was starving so I dug right in. However, there weren't any napkins or utensils in the bag so I had to wait for room service. I guess that's what I get for just grabbing my food and bouncing. That being said, when it was time to eat, I enjoyed every bite. I ordered the navratan korma. This dish is super creamy and packed full of vegetables like carrots, peas, and cauliflower. It came with rice and I also got some of their bullet naan, which was spicy! All of it was really good but I probably would have gotten a mild spice level for my entree had a noticed how spicy the naan would be. Oh, and I got an order of the veggie samosa (3 pieces) and they were great, and enormous. Of course, I had leftovers which made for good snacking. I would be happy to eat here again! read more

Tikka House is one of my favorite Indian restaurants. It's got great tasting food that will fill you up. This time, I got the lamb korma with butter naan. Tikka provides nimki to every table (like chips at a Mexican restaurant), and they are delicious. It tastes so good and gets your appetite ready. The lamb korma was great. It doesn't look like a lot because it comes in a small dish, but there is more than it seems and it is very filling, especially with the unlimited rice. The butter naan was excellent and paired nicely with the lamb korma. The environment is very nice. It's calm and quiet and has a lot of seating. It's a tidy looking place with dim lighting that sets a nice dinner atmosphere. The servers are all very sweet. Our table didn't get too much attention so sometimes our waters ran dry, but if you call for the servers they are very responsive and friendly. Tikka House is an excellent place for Indian food that tastes great and fills up your stomach. It's a nice place to eat at and one of my favorites in Louisville! read more

First off I am thankful for Tikka Houses hours. We had a lot going on yesterday morning so we needed a late lunch spot. All the Indian places that are close to my area closed at 2:30 but not Tikka House, they were open from noon to 9. We were promptly greeted & seated upon arrival. They brought use out waters and a delicious little appetizer of some sort of chips and sauces that I loved! The entrees came out quick and hot! We ordered the Gobi Manchurian (fried cauliflower) it was very yummy, would have liked it a touch crispier but the flavor was great. I got the Chicken Tandoori, the chicken was so flavorful, moist on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside (apparently I was wanting crispy foods). It came with a tomato sauce on the side that had just a hint of sweetness, it was delicious. Easily the best tandoori I've had. My husband ordered the chicken korma and he really enjoyed it. Spice was good and very creamy! Oh and last but not least the garlic Naan was delicious, had just enough char on the bottom and it was huge! Food was good. Service was good. Tucked behind Paul's Fruit Market is a small, unassuming restaurant that serves up some of the greatest Indian food around. My only wish is that it had not been such a raw, ugly, stormy day so we could have had the opportunity to sit outside. My entree was the Lamb Vindaloo (A spicy and tangy lamb curry cooked with potato cubes and light coconut milk). I asked for it to be spicy, and it sort of was? But not to the level I would have liked. Still extremely delicious though. Then, my friend who is mad for all things bread, ordered three huge naans: Cheese, garlic and bullet (Naan stuffed with green chilies and spices). These were crazy good and were so big there was a ton left over. I definitely want to try all the flavors! Service was prompt and professional, and the ladies who brought the food were so nice. Came here on derby day so it was pretty quiet but it was my first time at this restaurant and my friends recommended the Lamb Vindaloo and it was really good! Savory and I got medium spice which was the perfect amount for me. Comes with rice but I do recommend getting the Garlic Naan or one of the others to dip, very good! Will definitely come back. I enjoyed my time here! The food was really good. They have gobi Manchurian, which is a hard dish to find in Louisville, so I was excited. The service was excellent! This is a solid place. I would leave 5 stars if it wasn't for a few minor tweaks they could make. For an appetizer we got gobi Manchuria. That was fantastic! For the mains we got chicken tikka masala (came with white rice) and ordered some garlic naan bread. Both of these were great and the portions of the rice and naan especially were very generous The service was highly exceptional, it was probably some of the best service I've had in a while. I was glad to leave a larger tip than I usually would. They were absolutely on it. Only have a couple gripes. The chicken was pretty dry and this a bit tough to eat. I have been craving indian food for the longest time and really glad my friend took me to tikka house. We ordered the chicken 65 which almost looked like and reminded me of their version of general tso chicken. Lightly battered, crispy to give it a bite and that sauceee though. We ordered it medium since we both got vindaloo which is usually mad spicy. Ordered a side of chili garlic naan, we literally were trying to kill our insides i guess with all the spicy food. I am a spicy lover and when i want hot i expect hot. We got the chicken and lamb vindaloo which came with rice. Eat it with the rice it'll help with the spicyness. That said, my friend found hers spicy eventually. I sadly did not. It started out not spicy at all but slowly could taste more of the flavor and the heat. We both got it at a level 3. I guess i may need some more but then again i want to be able to enjoy and eat it. But i've had much spicier vindaloo where i could barely eat it after a while, i actually prefer my stomach to get killed if it's that numbing haha. But super good and flavorful. Checked out Tikka House on a whim when one of our favorite restaurants was unexpectedly closed. We placed our order to go and honestly most everything was good! We ordered samosas, chicken tikka masala, rice, aloo paratha and garlic naan. The pricing was very fair in my opinion and it was ready sooner than the time quoted. The only issue with our order was the chicken was quite tough, which normally with chicken tikka it's pretty tender from simmering in the sauce. It was a bit off putting and I have a weird thing about tough chicken. All in all we will definitely order from them again, and I can totally see why it has the amount of stars it has! read more

These pop-able chicken bites are batter-fried chicken cubes tossed with spicy yogurt chili sauce. They are lightly spicy but not too spicy for folks with sensitive tongues. They reminded me of an Indian version of boneless chicken wings and am looking forward to getting these again on a return visit. But even still, it had a enough heat from the spice to warm me on on the cold winter night. The lamb was tender and the sauce flavorful. We ordered the Garlic Naan (A MUST) to share which was so tasty! Not too thick, nice texture and delicious garlic taste. We ordered two dishes, the chicken tikka masala and a lamb dish. Portions were definitely extremely generous! The rice was delicious too, but the chicken tikka masala was the star!! The only reason I didn't give five stars is because of service. They were very under-staffed the night we came. There was one waitress. She was also the hostess, the food runner, and she was getting food ready for the dozens of door dash and grub hub employees picking up. You know it's good when that many people are ordering takeout! It was quiet when I came here on a Wednesday evening around 5 and it was empty. It's a good vibe for a date. I saw some people come in here for to go and one other couple came and ate a meal. Service was quick. They gave complimentary naan (or maybe they were pita) chips with tamarind sauce and some onions mixed with red stuff at the beginning of our meal. We also got yummy gulab jamun at the end. So good! We shared dishes. We got one order of garlic naan which is just one naan cut into four. And then we shared chicken tikka with lamb curry. If you mixed the sauces, it really had some heat! I think they were both decent. The Tikka didn't have much chicken in it. Also, the food just was alright.
