The portion was on the smaller side, but given the price, I'd say it's a good deal. A large plate of this elsewhere would probably be around $16. I loved the flavor of the pad Thai and that it didn't have that overly sweet flavor Americanized pad Thai tends to have. Authentic and delicious. I just stumbled upon this food truck yesterday after going to a daytime movie at Parkway Cinema. There are specials of the day for around $5 cash only: For the soup--- The noodles and toppings are packaged separately from the soup broth. The broth is made with a meat base with flavorings of mirepoix and star anise. The toppings were cooked beef, sprouts, cilantro, green onion, meatball, and flat rice noodles. Very similar to the lunches that I have had at the Wat Thai Temple in Tampa at their Sunday market. The Pad Thai was also delicious and all of the vegetables were still crisp. The sauce was not too heavy with oil. Tofu, Chicken, and Beef were mixed into the noodles, so I do not know if there is much of a vegetarian option. They also carry Spring Rolls, grilled meat on sticks, and Sticky Rice with Mango dessert. The price great compared to the quality of food received and the convenience. We will definitely be stopping back when we are in the area for lunch on weekends. They are open for lunch both Saturday and Sunday, parked on the corner of Tallavast Road and Lockwood Ridge in the Shell gas station parking lot. I've seen this food truck several times but didn't stop until today. We ordered Pad Thai Chicken and Thai Sticks (which are Satay if you know Thai food) to take home and they were EXCELLENT!! Not only was I wrong, I was really, really wrong. This truck is better than most Thai restaurants. I had the Spicy Chicken Basil, "Thai Hot". Finally, someone that listens when I say "Thai Hot", and it wasn't just hot...it was perfectly balanced and flavorful, while being hot. Best Thai I've had in Sarasota, and I've tried them all.
