Place is clean. Two of the employees were sitting at the table, I honestly thought they were customers but they were up once orders started coming in. No one greeted us upon arrival and even though there's a checkout counter, the self service machines seemed the only option. Later in the visit, I did see folks being serviced at the counter. The music was current but didn't quite match the vibe of the restaurant-it wasn't loud or annoying though. Everything was pretty much self service, however when I asked the employee about a beverage, he was kind and informative. They were even cleaning the kiosks which was so refreshing to see! BUT, after tasting my food-I didn't care! We ordered samosas, masala fries, aloo saag with naan-hot, chai, the traitor drink and garlic naan. The prices were reasonable and the portions were hearty. The samosa had the perfect crunch and inside the texture was fluffy. Everything had perfect levels of spice. The masala fries-omg-perfect balance of textures. Bottle up that sauce and send it to my house! As a vegetarian, it was so nice to have masala without the chicken. The saag definitely had a kick. I literally was eating it by the spoonful not even with the naan. The naan had the right amount of crisp. Splurge and get the garlic one too. It paired so nicely with the spice in the saag. I felt every bit of spice in my chai, it wasn't overpowered by water or milk like others I've had. The mandarin cardamom was "great". We stopped in for a quick date night and have literally found a new fav! I don't give five stars lightly, but...it's well earned.

I was excited to try this place finally. I ordered online and they were very fast. I got the chicken 65, but it was almost over cooked and dry and the sauce that came with it was incredibly bland. I didn't like it. The naan was good. The samosas were good. My husband liked his lamb bowl. It was also kind of expensive in my opinion and they try and auto add tips for online orders that you pick up.

The food was very flavorful and the lamb had the perfect texture. The service was faster than I expected and the tacos make a really quick a la carte option. Their organic drinks are all refreshing. I liked the mango one the best.

The atmosphere is good and the food in decent for what it is . It's not your traditional Indian fare but it's a cool spin on Indian food like Indian street food . So if you want something a lil different then this is a good spot .

Food was fresh and flavorful. So many items on the menu I wanted to try. Great juices and teas instead of the usual soda. Loved the fresh garlic on the naan and the green sauce it came with. Fun relaxed atmosphere we will definitely be a back soon.

It's really nice to find a Mexican restaurant that actually feels authentic, because a lot of places around here just don't. I'll definitely be back!

I'm a Huntsville native and people here will swear by Phil's. Sunday after church hour long waits…read morefor a margarita and chicken, cheese, and rice after a long church sermon are somewhat of a ritualistic, ironic part of a typical southern weekend. However, I can swear by the fact that this proves my theory on Mexican food, in North Alabama at least, being worshipped only if it tastes like cardboard and has no seasoning. This is not my first time at Phil's, either location, and every time it is always unremarkable. But this time, it was inexcusably bad. My fiancée's margarita tasted like water with lime in it. There was no triple sec or tequila taste, though she did say she felt a little buzz from it. So clearly was there but, to what cost? $9 for a tasteless marg is a little high. The queso had legitimately no flavor. Not even cheese. Just like table cream. It even had peppers in it but you could not taste them. This was the time where we questioned if we had caught COVID in the 10 minutes we had been in there and lost our sense of taste. I quickly learned this wasn't the case when I tasted the salsa which had the flavor of body odor and canned tomatoes. The chips, however, nice and crispy. So a plus there. Get the chips. Don't dip them. We split the chicken fajitas and the 3 minutes it took to come out after we ordered it, should be taken as a sign that it's not going to be great. The grill marks felt laughable as the chicken had no texture or flavor of something that was grilled. It, along with the peppers and onions, had a slimy texture and, again, absolutely no flavor. It seemed to me that this was a classic case of either Sysco's Finest or Sous Vide cooking. The rice on the side also had no flavor but the beans actually had a great taste, but a few felt under cooked and slightly crunchy. The stand out was the home made tortillas which we thick and fluffy. This made me question why, if you're going to the effort of making tortillas and chips in house, why cut corners on your MAIN part of the meal? As for the service, it wasn't bad but the waiter had to be asked multiple times for refills and was very inattentive to our table while favoring who seemed to be regulars behind us. Phil's has the essence of "what a Mexican restaurant tastes like in Norway if opened by a British person who had Mexican food once on a work trip to Idaho." Decor that's trying too hard, food that has no seasoning, and service that is lacking.

However you can buy a "3 flight" wine tasting or a "6 flight" wine tasting from a specific list of white wines or red wines. We ordered the "6 flight" consisting of 3 whites and 3 reds to taste. We liked the ability to choose the wines from the list. We also ordered a caprese crostini tray to nibble on while we tasted the wines. Most of the wines were "OK" to "Good" in taste with a couple of wines that a bit too young for tasting. But it was my mistake for selecting them. All in, it was a fun way to spend the Erving. We will definitely be back to try The Stem and Stein once again. Thanks. Rob F

I even branched off for a cider which was delicious. The food was great. I tried the pretzels and the cheese dip was great with just a touch of spice. I was told the menu was new and tried the BBQ brisket Reuben and it was a great combo of BBQ and complimentary flavors for an overall satisfying sandwich... Always hard to find the combo of good beers (or at least a really good selection) and good food but this is it. I added this to my list of places when I'm visiting.... I'm usually in Huntsville but it's worth branching out to Madison AL
