    Beef Burrito Platter

Such a special restaurant in Madison!! For Mother's Day, my family and I tried Phil Sandoval's and immediately fell in love with it! Not only were the servers super friendly and made all the mom's in our group feel extra special, the food was so so delicious!! I got the beef burrito platter and was so impressed by the taste of it and how it filled me up so quickly!! Just thinking about it makes me want to go back! The dining room is also decorated super cutely, and it was a really fun place to be! There was fun music in the background, and all the windows along the walls make it super open and light inside. All in all, 100% would recommend to anyone looking for delicious food and a fun time!

I tried Phil Sandoval's for the first time the other day after driving by and the inside is just as beautiful as the outside. The building is super spacious and welcoming! The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the chicken burrito platter and was blown away by how wonderful it was, especially with the cheese sauce! But my favorite part was our amazing waiter, Alexys. He was so polite and knowledgeable about the menu. I can't say enough good things about Alexys and his kindness!

Finding the two baskets of chips and two cups of salsa for a table of 7/8 is like Where's Waldo!

The long awaited "new" Phil Sandoval's in Madison! My family was excited to go here after church ended a little earlier than normal. My daughter and her boyfriend were in town, and my father-in-law was along for the ride...I needed a table for 7. The wait was going to be about 40 minutes--no problem for us. It was a little cold and misty outside, and the waiting area was jam packed inside. Phil's uses text messaging flyover alert you when your table is ready. Comfortable with that, we went to our cars to stay dry and warm. My wife had stayed behind at church to socialize and hitched a ride with my daughter. Well, I got a call from my wife 20 minutes after my check-in...our table was ready. I'm not going to complain about them being 20 minutes early...odd that my wife stumbled into that and I didn't receive a message from Phil's, though. As they led us into the dining area we could see it was very open. It is also much brighter light-wise than most cantina's around here. I would describe the atmosphere as loud. I could talk to my daughter next to me, but defiantly could not talk with my older daughter across the table from me without yelling. They had chips and salsa on the table promptly, but it was very stingy. Two small baskets of chips and two little cups of salsa. I was paying the bill, but was so far removed from the chips and salsa that I couldn't partake. I took it as God's way of saying "you don't need that," but I did like watching four of my family members enjoying them . Picture attached...finding the chips and salsa was like playing Where's Waldo. My son ordered some Queso. They brought him Queso...and we had to ask for another basket of chips. I did get to try some of his Queso. I will say...this is THE GOOD STUFF! There was some confusion going on with the bathroom sign. I needed to wash my hands. I don't speak fluent Spanish, but was looking for bano. I saw the sign Pachanga Room. If I had thought hard I would have known it was dance/music. I didn't think that hard. I waded back there and only saw a bunch of people eating. That one is on me. I did find the bathroom, but it wasn't clearly marked from my point of view. Picture attached. The food was good...similar to my favorite (Rosie's) with some minor differences. All in all, it needs to mature. The confusion coupled with the mediocre service...3/5 for me. The food is good, though, and I hope I expedite less confusion and better service to update update my review in the coming months.

My favorite texmex place! There's a lot of places to eat in Madison and Huntsville but we all have the same complaint.... It's just not good. You spend a lot of money to eat out to be disappointed. We cook more at home now than ever before because of the lack of good food at restaurants. It's funny because you will see the same people working. They just jump from one place to the next. The Sandovals on 72 doesn't disappoint! Great service and great food. We finally learned to order our food after the queso because the food comes out super fast! We like to enjoy our drinks and chips before our meal.

The fish tacos are my new addiction. If they were a man I'd do marry them . Really they are the best if you love fish tacos you have got to stop by here and give them a try you will not be sorry, and you will not leave hungry. Bet you will be back again and again

She arrived at 8:50 and she was told the cake wasn't ready. They were rushing to do the lettering on the cake. She did finally get it at 9:20 but with her being 19 she was not going to point out the defects. She waited to get with us, adults, so we could address it. They did show her the cake as they quickly boxed it. So they didn't ask her if it was right... Realistically they wouldn't be able to fix it. The color is supposed to be light blue but I suppose turquoise is close... smh. This would not be easily corrected and it's fine. It would have just been nice for them to do what was discussed like the lettering around the base because our daughter's name is too long for the top. I like how they wrote it over the decoration even though this was not supposed to happen. Oh! And instead of "Charlotte's First Birthday" it's "Charlotte first birthday" in poor condensed font to fit it in. The cake isnt terrible but I expect better quality for $80. It isn't what we wanted. I did call them and let them know but again, what can they do. I'm including photos. I would have rather pay a fraction and order from Publix. They never do me wrong. And while it's more basic I get what I ask for. We did get cupcakes too. They turned out ok but it's a real disappointment about our daughter's first cake. Not the end of the world but a disappointment I'd like to spare others from if possible.

Only reason this is a 2 star instead of a 1 -- it's possible the ice cream is good, but I sure didn't get to try it. Located off the main drag of highway in Madison, this is a small chain offering rolled ice cream, milkshakes, cookies, and liege waffles with decadent toppings. It's been here a little while and so I thought I'd stop by for an afternoon treat while waiting to attend an event nearby. I entered into the smallish, narrow space and was immediately struck by how...dead it felt. There was one other customer (or perhaps an owner/manager, though if it was, that's kind of disappointing given my experience). It was kind of dark inside and it smelled weird -- not noxious or anything but a little musty and certainly not a yummy, sweet, ice cream, cookie, or waffle scent like you might expect. I wasn't greeted but I wandered up to the register where an employee was listlessly -- and I mean LISTLESSLY - pushing around a few sad ice cream rolls. Every other time I've watched ice cream get rolled the worker has almost been like a hibachi chef, rapidly cutting, dicing, rolling, and flipping. This reminded me of picking a scab. I said hello; I don't remember if the young female employee said anything back, she might've muttered an acknowledgement but it definitely wasn't a warm welcome. Having never been here before, I was a little unclear on the process (eg, what are mix-ins vs toppings; what's available; are there pre-made creations, etc), but she never offered to answer any questions or render assistance, even as I stood for several minutes gazing up at the menu. All I heard from her for a while - as she continued to listlessly scrape the ice cream around - were several very loud, gnarly-sounding sniffles. They were bad enough that I started to feel concerned she was sick. These concerns were further worsened by the fact she wasn't wearing gloves. While that thought flickered through my mind, I abruptly heard her say, "I'm sorry." I assumed she was talking to me since I'd been waiting for a while, and so I reflexively said, "You're fine!" I quickly realized she wasn't speaking to me at all and was instead having a conversation on the phone through the headphones she was wearing. Nice. This went on for another minute or two -- it was a fairly personal conversation and she seemed to be consoling someone on the other end -- and I just decided it wasn't worth the hassle and frustration. Y'all know I try my best to be very forgiving of service and such but this was a bridge too far for me. I had read reviews prior to coming here about service being bad and I thought surely people were overreacting or being entitled but now I don't think so. Perhaps the product is good, but you'll be hard-pressed to sell much of it if employees aren't even willing to make it for customers.

This dessert shop is located in a sort of inauspicious looking shopping mall in Madison. It's right next door to Just Love Coffee and a storefront that says it's about to become "Dogtopia." The parking lot is very long and fairly wide; no troubles there. I arrived right after they opened and it was spotless and had that nice, bright, clean scent I associate with freshly mopped floors. I understand it's sometimes annoying to have a customer come in on the early side of opening, but a staff member came out and served me politely. I explained I'd never visited before and she gave me a brief run down of what kind of treat I could build. They have Italian ice, soft serve, and then what they call gelati -- not to be confused as the plural of gelato; this means a mixture of both Italian ice AND soft serve. This seems to be their signature thing. You can build your own gelati by selecting flavors and toppings, or pick from a curated menu of popular combinations. I chose the latter, since it was less intimidating, lol. If I remember correctly, what I got was called an Oreo mud pie. It had cookies and cream Italian ice, vanilla and chocolate swirled soft serve, and crumbled Oreo pieces layered in. I got the smallest size serving and thought the price was reasonable and the serving size satisfying. Overall, I enjoyed this dessert. I definitely liked the soft serve more than the Italian ice, but that doesn't really surprise me; I usually prefer creamier treats. The soft serve was smooth and had a distinct vanilla flavor. The Italian ice was okay; oddly, it had a peculiar minty taste to it, in addition to the faintly chocolatey, faintly creamy cookies and cream vibe. Perhaps it was made in the same machine as a different, minty flavor? Not really sure what caused it, but I didn't dislike it. I appreciated that the staff member asked while I was eating if I was happy with what I got. This seems like a sweet place to bring kids and family members for a unique dessert. Give it a try sometime.
