We recently had the pleasure of meeting Julian and are very appreciative of his help! I usually only go off of personal recommendations when looking for help with a project, but opted to use a service because we were looking for something specific this time around. I had about four porcelain tiles that needed to be replaced and the grout fixed. Within less than 12 hours (I submitted my search request late Saturday night and got a call about 9am the next morning), Julian reached out and offered to help. I explained what we wanted to have done and he reassured me that it was something he felt comfortable doing, and then waited patiently for me to send him some pictures to provide an accurate quote and to address any other concerns I might have. I followed up the next morning with the pictures, and he confirmed how much the project would be, and we scheduled an appt for the next morning. I appreciated that he already had a plan in place to be extra safe with Covid precautions. The morning of our appt, he was communicative of when he would be arriving, took a look at the exact work that needed to be done, explained his plan in detail, and started right away. I had errands to run, but felt comfortable with taking off - leaving my husband to answer any questions he might have. He did an amazing job! He was thorough and made sure that he left our floor in a much better position than before he began. Honestly, I knew the people who had done the initial work weren't the most credible (were used by our landlord), so I really appreciate that Julian not only did the work that I requested, but took the time to fix the other team's errors to avoid more problems in the future. This act of honesty is a huge deal and why I wanted to leave a review: he could've simply patched up the work, knowing that the tiles would break again, ensuring more work from him in the future, but he made it a point to do the right thing. Our tiles look amazing and I'm enjoying not hearing a cracking sound whenever I walk into the room. They're secure, beautiful, and better than I had expected. I seriously dreaded this project, for months!, and feel silly for not having reached out sooner. I had called over 10 companies and the only person who returned my call the same day was Raul. He's very genuine, honest, aaccommodating, and dependable. He came to the house the same day, gave us an estimate, and was able to start the work the following day. He did such an amazing job on the kitchen tile that we asked him to also remodel our old 1960s shower in the Master Bathroom with a beautiful marble tile with glass and stone mosaic border. I just moved into Evergreen area and my kitchen island was huge. I wanted someone to cut 2 sides and bull nose it. I was able to remove the top (with plywood attached to it) and was looking for a granite fabricator. Called several guys but none of them showed up for final work. Called Raul on Thursday evening @ 5:00 PM. He came next day at 7:30 AM, got me the final product at 2:00 PM same day. Now that is what I call service. He also cut the left over granite to fit it at another place. What I liked about him is commitment, delivery and his positive attitude. Reached out to ESD to fix a crack in my granite by the sink. His workmanship, communication skills, professionalism and politeness put him above most contractors. Left a message and got a prompt call back. I provided the details and based on this he provide a quick estimate. We set a appointment and he then followed up with a quick text to confirm the date, time and price. He showed up on time and was very respectful of our house. He offered to put on shoe covers, put down floor protection and cleaned up the entire area after his work. He even sealed all the granite in my kitchen as a courtesy. He did a great job at repairing the crack and also sealed around the sink as an extra. I asked him to do some minor repairs on the granite edging and on my floor tile grout. He offered to do those as part of the cost. I paid him for those out of respect to his extra work. I would recommend him to my friends. If the wife would let me, I would like to have him come out and replace the floor on the downstairs. :) read more

Raul returned my call the next day and was able to come that week to drill a hole in granite for a reverse osmosis kit that I installed myself. (The other hard part was making a hole in the drainage pipe, which I did with a soldering iron -- open your windows for that). The charge was $125, and it took about 15 minutes including set up time. It's a lot louder than you think when you're drilling a granite countertop, but that part only took about 30 seconds. I wouldn't try it yourself, even after watching many YouTube videos, unless you've got other granite to practice with. read more

I've been bitten by the interior decorating/small scale home improvement bug and I decided that what my kitchen needed was a filtered water dispenser. A few months ago, I had Dave's Custom Plumbing put in a water filter for my cold water tap for my kitchen island sink, but soon discovered that that wasn't the practical way to go as people would do things with the filtered cold water tap other than drinking (i.e., wash their hands, rinse dishes, etc.). I went over to Barron Park Supply in Palo Alto and got the necessary hardware (water dispenser itself and washers) and had Raul come over and drill a hole through my granite countertop. Raul was prompt, professional, and courteous. Although the process of drilling a hole through stone was a noisy one (especially at 7:30 in the morning), it was a necessary evil and Raul was swift in getting the job done. I now have his name and number and will call on him for any stone-related jobs that may lie ahead in my journey towards home improvement perfection. read more

I need to cut few pieces of 18x18 granite tile to smaller size, went to few stores and none of them provide the service. I found contractor page at yelp and start calling every phone number I could on Sat morning. Only one place said they could do it but I have to wait till Monday morning and bring my tiles to the shop. While waiting for another contractor to return my call, I got a call from Raul, he returned my call which he missed earlier (I didn't actually leave any message). We discussed briefly on the phone about my needs. He showed up one hour later at my door and brought his wet tile saw to help me. It's a quick setup and the whole process took about 20 mins. He charged me less than the shop asked and I didn't have to take my tiles to the shop at all. I don't think I will be able to find anything better than this. So glad I read previous reviews on ESD Stone & Tile and, specifically, Raul. We had a few small chips in our kitchen granite and asked Raul if he could repair for us as well as re-caulk. Raul was very quick to return my phone call and we were able to set up an appointment for later in the week. He arrived as scheduled, listened to what I wanted to do and addressed a couple concerns I had about the granite. He did an excellent job on the chip repairs and caulking and, in addition, polished up and sealed our granite and tile behind the counters. Everything looks so shiny and new! Things I really appreciated about Raul were that he put a tarp under his truck to protect our driveway pavers and his entire work area was tarped to protect our wood floors. When he was finished, he did a very thorough job of cleaning, even cleaning up some stray German Shepherd hairs on the floor from our pup. I needed a section of backsplash replaced in my kitchen after replacing a window. The original granite installer that I had lined up to do the job got overbooked and was unavailable. After emailing a few granite installers, Raul was the first to respond to me that same day. At the beginning of the job, I realized that I brought home the wrong piece of granite from the stone shop.
