Crispy potato w/ chorizo w/ a garlic and cheddar bagel and caramelized onion cream cheese
    Kelly F.

Best bagel sandwich I've ever had. The bagel wasn't dry and was incredibly soft. I got the crispy potato sandwich with chorizo and I couldn't recommend it enough! The staff were also really helpful when ordering. We did have about a 20 minute wait on a Sunday around 11 am and the wait was outside to control the crowds.

Oh Tilly, get in my belly. Just another morning in the West Loop when I strolled over for the best bagel in town. Always fresh, I had my pick of their baking goodness. Daily special grilled cheese bagel for me, and get this- JPG giardiniera cream cheese. Shout out to Jim for yet another delicious partnership-bringing my favorite giardiniera to a bagel. Genius!

Tilly Bagel Shop is such a comfort spot on a snowstorm day -- open early as usual, warm and welcoming, with lots of bagel and cream cheese options. Online ordering for pickup is super easy, which is a big big plus in winter and for families w kids. We ordered the Crispy Potato & Chorizo sandwich (Tilly Crisp with Honey Vanilla cream cheese), the Veggie sandwich (Tomato Grilled Cheese bagel with Honey Vanilla CC), and an Egg & Cheese on the Chicago bagel with Caramelized Onion CC, plus a few extra bagels, cold brew, and a latte. Every bagel sandwich was a hit -- flavorful, satisfying, and comforting. We'd absolutely come back!

My partner and I decided to stop by for breakfast since it was super close to our stay. Needless to say- such a friendly and comfy spot, especially on a rainy day. Food & drink: (4/5) I don't think I'm a huge fan of bagels in general but these were definitely one of the better ones that I've had! We got the garlic rosemary bagel with lox, and the bagel of the week (cardamom) with blueberry cream cheese. The bagels themselves weren't too dense, which seems to be the problem that I usually have. I did take off one point because I felt like the flavors weren't too stand-out. I probably wouldn't come back by myself but would enjoy it if my partner wanted to go again. Service: (5/5) The people here are also so friendly! You can feel the positive energy the moment u walk in. Love. Other notes: I'm not sure if this is standard but I really liked the area where you can add honey, syrups, and milks to anything. Where I'm from, these typically come with additional charge.

Amazing bagel shop in Chicago. Fluffy and fresh made bagels. Really filled with ingredients. The Tilly Bagel has some spice to it with a good chili crisp flavor. The potato inside was like freshly made hash brown with its own good taste of its own and well seasoned. Caramelized onion cream cheese itself doesn't have the onion flavor, it tbh tasted like a regular cream cheese so doesn't shine through. Rosemary garlic bagel was also just a hint of Rosemary not very potent. Good texture.

WOW! The new bagel the smoked brisket is incredible. Honestly one of the best bagels I have had. In order online and I'm able to pick up within an hour. I got the smoked brisket, tomato grilled cheese bagel, caramelized onion cream cheese and added a hash brown. The brisket is cooked incredibly, so tender. The added hash brown also was a game-changer. Please keep this on the menu forever, I am obsessed!

Ambiance - small, cute, neighborhood bagel shop, offers sit down/standing area to enjoy food, also love that I got to see the bagels being made Service - weekends are usually packed, short line outside, i'd recommend ordering ahead online for pickup, 15 min wait outside + 20 min order/food ready Food - they definitely pack the bagel sandwiches with protein, the lox bagel sandwich was soooooooo good but the Chicago bagel was definitely harder/chewier than I expected

The crispy potato with chorizo bagel was SO good. I picked the Cacio e Pepe bagel with jalapeno cream cheese and the combo was the perfect balance. The bagel was loaded with crispy potato and lots of chorizo which I appreciated. I love that you can really customize your bagels here. It was pretty busy on a Saturday AM but line moved pretty fast. There's seating inside but can be limited on weekend AMs, however, a walk around the block isn't bad too! Definitely stopping by again for my next bagel fix.

I was truly impressed with my bagel from Tilly's today! I tried their bagel of the week and added bacon and chive cream cheese and bacon. The bagel was delicious and the perfect density. Just the right amount of cream cheese and bacon was thick and cooked very well.

We shared: 1. Chorizo egg cheese on everything bagel w/ caramelized onion cream cheese 2. Bacon egg cheese on tomato grilled cheese bagel w/ Sun dried tomato cream cheese Great flavor and chew in both bagels. I loved the fluffy egg. The recommended cream cheese for our breakfast sandwiches were very good. The only weak point was bacon - overcooked and dry. Friend's latte is comparable to Starbucks. No issues with service. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu.

Got the crispy potato with chorizo bagel sandwich with hash browns, chorizo, scallions, and salsa verde on an everything bagel. Hands down one of the best bagel sandwiches I've had in a long time. Everything was hot, crispy, flavorful, and the bagel had that perfect balance of chewy and soft. It was messy in the best way. I also got a matcha but the way they do it is kind of a DIY situation. They hand you a plain matcha and send you to a little syrup bar to customize it yourself. Cute idea but not helpful if you don't know how to make matcha. I had no clue how much syrup to add and ended up with something that tasted off. Next time I'll probably skip the matcha or ask if they can just make it for me. Cool vibe overall though. Chill spot to sit and eat. The sandwich alone is worth coming back for.

Came here around lunch and got the chicken Caesar bagel sandwich and it did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and super quick with the turnaround of the sandwiches. So we were in & out. Now let's get into this bagel.. it was HUGE! And all the ingredients paired well with one another. I got it on a cacio e Pepe bagel with bacon & chive cream cheese. It was stunning! I could only eat one half because the sando is too big for just one sitting. Would recommend trying them out.

Stopped by after seeing another location in the city that had quite the crowd. This location also had a line when we got there, but it moves pretty quick! The staff is super friendly and cool. I ordered an everything bagel with bacon, egg, and vegan cream cheese. The bagel itself was pretty thick!! It was yummy, but I think I could've gone without the vegan cream cheese, it almost felt like a big glob of butter, but other than that my bagel was good! Obviously you can't compare Chicago bagels to NY, but if you're looking for a good bagel this is it! Seating is limited, but it's a cute little spot.

I really want to like them so much more than I do. If there were a continuum from hipster deli…read more(think Mile End) to traditional deli (Manny's, 2nd Avenue, etc) Schneider would on the hipster side of center. Two of us shared a half pound pastrami on rye with a side of hash browns. The rye was pretty decent but the pastrami was sliced far too thick and the meat was lean. That is not a good thing when it comes to pastrami and I attribute the lean meat to the deli catering to its hipster-ish audience. Although the flavor was decent, the sandwich was dry and difficult to eat. We disagreed on the generously sized pickle. One of us thought the flavor was just right, the other not so much. We both agreed on the hash browns. It's a no-go. They were well fried but entirely unseasoned. I understand the lack of schmaltz but there was no onion or salt or anything else. Waffle House has nothing to worry about. (IYKYK) Service was fast and polite. The space is tiny, but it works. Prices are okay for this area but if you want traditional deli in Chicago, go to Manny's.

You'd swear these are the most seeded and topped bagels you've seen. Their poppey bagels are so…read moreseeded they look like a cocoa powder dusted donut, same with the sesame and everythings. I don't know what technique they do it get or keep so much topping on them, but it's a pleasure to have too much rather than not enough. They service beer here which makes it slightly unbreakfasty and their bagel sandwiches used baked eggs rather than griddled/flat topped or from a pan. Keeps them fluffy, but I prefer mine a little runnier. Service is very good, friendly, not rushed or fake hospitality. They cure their lox in house which to me feels more tender than other places, probably just a lower, longer heating or a gentler cure. Excellent schmear, a not heavy handed when scooping (respect the schream cuz). Prices are pretty good considering the care and love they put into the bagels (hand rolled, multiple proofs). They have crunch, chew, density, but air pockets. Chef/owners def put thought into the menu with flavors like zatar, dilly ranch deviled eggs. Dr. Browns sodas. Baclava cappuccinos. White fish on bagel chips, Bagel dog is such a simple combination of not just the everything bagel seasoning, but the dough as well. And the mustard pairs better than had they added schmear (sorry Seattle dogs, i'm not a fan, i only like my cream cheese in philadelphia sushi rolls, lol) . The pizza bagel needs more toppings like pepperoni, sausage becuase then it would eat like a normal size bagel bite. The challah bread on the rachel really is more well rounded than the reuben. It's something I've been recreating back home. Giard cream cheese, cmon ya'll are really hitting the nail on the head for a Chicago bagel shop. I guess that's why there are 3 locations now. The Haystack with apple butter works better than expected, but also works with a chive cream cheese sub, no ketchup needed (if you do go with the harissa ketchup from the yada yada). BEC with a side of salted tomato and harissa ketchup is amazing. If everything was 10% more like toppings wise this would be amazing, but they always seem to skimp on something whether it's the schmear, pickels, salad. I feel like i was haggling for my meal sometimes. Prices area little high for most items, but of great value for others. It's busy in the mornings, but lines move long and only once did I have to wait for a fresh batch of anything despite some large orders ahead of me. It's a 20 minute train ride, but worth it. Prime location near Wrigley.

If you place an order for pick up, it could be ready 30 minutes early or 15 minutes late - hard to time pick up. So you like a warm breakfast sandwich? You might get it! Or you'll have an un-toasted, soggy bagel. The hashyb is good when the bagel is toasted and the bacon cooked, but now the ratio of times this happens is on the unfavorable side. The lox bagel also doesn't come on a toasted bagel meaning it ends up very wet and unsavory, I ended up eating the contents of the bagel without the bagel as it was falling apart. The coffee tasted burnt. Again, when they are on it - it's great! I wish they were more consistent, I will not be returning to pay $$ for a bagel that might be decent.
