this place is huge and full of all types of games, a putt putt, golf area, and things you wouldn't see anywhere else. It reminds me of a junkyard for video games not in a bad way. It's just so many off-the-wall things. the videos gives you an idea of how large the places but also the random games that you'll see here I did notice that there weren't a lot of employees. well took my kids in there to have some fun Sunday night and spent over $130 dollars just to get home and find out the candy my kids picked out with some of there 4500 points is in fact expired not by a month but as in 5/25/2024 the gummy's are hard as a rock....not cool. Well...this is a strange place. Has the look and feel of a decent arcade/fun zone type place but, when playing the machines, there was a decent percentage that weren't working, another percentage that didn't really record the tickets correctly, and almost every single claw machine was rigged to a degree that was beyond the norm. I know you can loosen the claw, make the claw hit the ceiling or jiggle on the way up to knock the prize out, make the prizes too small or too large for given claw, pack the prizes too tight, or put them out of reach for the claw. You guys have done it all. I know that maximizes money for you but I also noticed almost no one was playing them. You've got to have at least a small chance to win to make this place work. read more

I enjoy going here for the most part, I give less stars only because they do not have many things for younger kids to do, and unfortunately the ones they have are usually not working, I have been here probably around 10 times and not once were all the little kids games in the back corner worker.. there's only like 8ish? The food is pretty good, and they have a good variety of big kid, teen and adult games, and I like the various attractions like laser tag, mini golf, even an indoor roundabout ride like at carnivals. Overall, it seems a bit expensive for what's available but everything is more expensive now days. I would love to see a bigger space for the bumper cars, I think they would be a lot more popular if there was a little more space, the area is pretty tiny for driving in. The claw machine actually goes down after it dropped into the bin and pulled it back into the machine for the kool aide man stuffed toy. Most machines are broken. We tried at least ten of them. There seems to be no incentive to fix or refill any of them. Oh and some machines are $15 a play for the large claw machines. read more

This place is huge and has cool games, but holy cow, it is ridiculously expensive to play games here. I make really good money, but seriously i spent $80 worth of plays in less than 20 mins with my 2 daughters. I wanted to keep playing with them, but literally couldn't afford to justify another short round of play. The claw machines are expensive to play and of course you don't win on them either. Would rate 0 if I could. Took our family here and each spent over $50. The cards didn't record any points for my mom or my grandmother. When talking to one of the staff (the white guy with all the tattoos in the "party team" shirt) he said that I had 4 point when the cashier (Drew) said I just had 2800 (Drew was great) and the man in the blue shirt told me I was wrong so I went back to the cashier. He then said I had my points and when I asked to combine them he slammed the scanner on the table. Due to the lack of points populating on my moms card: the manager (she was nice and helpful to a point) said she couldn't see what points we got and gave her 500 points... this is after I played the same games and won over 2k and my 4 year old also won over 1500. When asking for staff names they wouldn't give them of their other staff and said "they have a name tag" how convenient it was that the name was covered by the wire to the earpiece. My kids come here with my mom once a month and spend decent money for a fun time. Well, unfortunately, today this changes. It's unfortunate that this is how the evening went. When asking for corporate information we were informed that the owner wouldn't talk to anyone and neither would the VP. Essentially it was a "sucks for you". We won't be back. I advise you don't go either if you want to get credit for what your playing. To the staff- be better and do better. The customer is always right even when they aren't. To the owner - you should teach your staff to have better poker faces and not cop attitudes. And from one business owner to another treat your clients better. Return business is better than early profit only to end up with nothing. As a response to your comment no one mentioned about anyone quitting we simply stated that the customer was right regardless and we stayed civil. We are not confused about tickets versus points. Regardless of your response some of your team didn't handle this well while others, as mentioned above, did a great job. read more

Alright so here's my take. I've been coming to tilt for years now, and each time I come in, it's always a just a touch worse. This go around, I was relieved to see new games and new prizes while also preserving the original arcade games. However, this place is plagued with problems. Games will break on you, games will steal your "credits" forcing you to stand in line for 10 minutes so one of the four people on the desk can fix it for you. The biggest problem I have is the card/token redeemer. IT IS rigged to not give you what the games say they give you. The games say you'll win 50 per card, and 3000 per set of cards. It doesn't, we had to argue with the staff twice before the correct amount of tickets were awarded for both me and my mother. I do wish the prizes at the counter were a little more adult friendly. A lot is kid prizes, which is alright, I get it, but still. Overall, it's a cash grab, the huge machines that offer the good prizes will cost 1/20th of your token if you spend the $100 on the cards. And the little machines are so busted with the claw, you'd be better off going to the casino and playing the slots. I took my son here last weekend for the first time while we were waiting for a movie to start at the theater next door. I have to laugh at all the bad reviews though. I imagine a blizzard of angry millennials that get upset and start melting when they don't win every game, every time. I remember going to the arcade when I was younger and realizing I was just going to lose my money, but that the fun was just in playing the games that you KNEW were not likely to give you anything ever. I mean, there weren't even many games that GAVE prizes then. You just played with the hope you might get a high enough score to enter your intitials. And that they might stay on the screen for a week, if you were lucky, before you got bumped off. On this particular night though, my son played a claw game one time and won a bag of 5000 tickets. His mother took him a week or so ago and said that he won 20,000 tickets on one of the skill games. This worried me so much, we immediately had to have a conversation about how the odds are MUCH greater in life that you will usually win nothing and to not get too excited about it. LOL We had one game malfunction while we were there but the staff immediately put our money back on our card. It was easy to find them and get it resolved. Anyway, just so you know what to expect, this place isn't as fancy as a Dave and Buster's or one of the more well-known arcades. In fact, it reminds me more of a very large boardwalk arcade. It DOES have some cool stuff like a putt-putt course in the back and an awesome two-floor laser tag room. We had fun playing it all and I would definitely come back. Maybe not the best arcade ever, but also definitely NOT the worst. It's Hagerstown, after all, not Washington DC. A solid 3 / weak 4 stars. read more

They have a mix of old and new arcade games, prices are not too bad, and really its one of few around the area. The biggest thing that turned me off however was when I got on the older Sega F1 Racing game and the Steering wheel was so miss calibrated/broken the paddle shifter was vertical which made it impossible to play. Then frustrated I got on the VR Motogp game and that headset was so un-calibrated looking "straight" my chin was almost on my shoulder.... Maybe its just currently some of their maintenance has fell through recently but it was extremely dissatisfying. read more

Update: 12/8/18 came for my second time and it was even worse than the first time the games are even more rigged than the first time played power drop which is a 100% skill game they rigged it and placed a screw so when the ball drops it bounces off the screw so you can never get a jackpot ever and even more games don't work they are all broke I have been to dozens of arcades and this just happens to be the worst arcade ever!!! Came here about a week ago with my girlfriend although we had fun it's almost impossible to win anything from any of the games for example the claw machines... the claws are extremely weak on all of them and are impossible to win anything.... the second thing is why so expensive? I spent 50$ dollars and walked away with nothing to show for it and only 1700 tickets most items that are worth anything require an insane amount of tickets I did the math the Xbox one would require me to have spent 2,000$ just to get it at the rate I was winning tickets if I spent 50$ a visit and got 2,000 tickets a visit that's what it would take UNREAL!! I know it's a business but come on Really? and the third thing is some of the machines do not work properly and they have only been open like 3 weeks which is disappointing if machines are breaking after 3 weeks this place isn't gonna last long..... Again overall I had fun but there are some BIG issues here that need adjusting if this arcade is gonna last otherwise once the WOW! This is one of the worst places to bring your kids. The employees are very, very rude and are dishonest. We played laser tag and the guy working there asked if we had played before we said no. Then we started playing and we're confused why he hadn't shown us a safety video. And the mid way thru the game the stopped us and said we didn't follow rules. (We followed all the rules) When we told him he skipped the safety video he just said "You said you've played before". And when we said no once again he just got mad and called the manager(also very rude). Overall it ruined my sons birthday party and was very trashy. DEFENITLY WOULD NOT RECOMEND!! read more

all i can say is take your money and go to an amusement park close by it will cost less and last all day. rigged games, broken games, super expensive games. Skee-ball game that is not full size and not playable due to the ball hitting the fence bar in front of the ball ramp all the time. the putt-putt golf course if 15 feet wide and 100 feet long and everything is a wall and a flat surface, nothing fun about playing putt-putt ricochet ball. you can spend 200 dollars here and be in and out in 30 minutes and leave with a candy bar as a prize. wow that is so much fun and enjoyment for my kids and I. We went here yesterday for the first time with the grand kids. The 2 staff members working (a young lady and a young man) where both so helpful! A diverse group of 8 of us went in late July '19. We played just about everything, laser tag, mini golf, mini bowling, bumper cars, several different pinball machines, old school games such as Galaga and just about every other game in there. We were there for at least 6 hours. We ate lunch, had a few drinks and had a fantastic time together. If you're coming to Tilt, simply to win high dollar prizes, I feel your missing out on what Tilt offers. If I play games at a fair, I don't expect to win the big prize for less than, or as much as a store charges and the same goes for here. We had a fun filled day and plenty of laughs. Claw machines are rigged to grab prizes loosely, games are overpriced, most don't work or partially work and have been this way for quite some time. Almost all of the pinball machines except for 2 have issues, and play slow because the fields are filthy.......... It's gonna be a no for me dawg. I suggest taking a ride out to Spinners or Adventure Park in Frederick instead. All of their games are well maintained and always work. read more

Place is fun and pretty big. I've been there a couple of times now no problems except when you're trying to check out with tickets and there are only a few girls working. I feel sorry for them running around getting yelled at. More help at peak hours would help. read more

We love tilt! My only complaint would be lack of workers. Every time we want to ride the bumper cars or do laser tag we have to hunt someone down. My little one does not like soda, apple juice on the menu or more variety would be helpful. Other than that, my son has the time of his life here. read more

visited tilt for the first time today and tried my luck on a game to win a "go-pro like" camera. their game malfunctioned and the staff was kind enough to load me onto another game. i won this game with her watching and the machine did not give me my prize. she said i should have gotten it so she was going to go get her manager. he walked over, watched the game not work and denied me my prize that i spent $10 trying to get. he was so rude about it and said the most he could do was give me my points back. i told him i want all of my points back on to my credit card because i will not be visiting here any time in the future if that's how they are going to rip people off. i will be sure to tell everyone about this place and how the manager couldn't even muster a word to me. read more

I go to arcades fairly often in my free time. Whenever possible to be honest. I have been to them all over the US, they are a bit of a passion for me, and I can say without any hesitation... Tilt Studios is okay, not great but good enough and totally acceptable for what it is. The games mostly work and there's a decent selection. The indoor mini golf and bumper thing is great for kids. The pinball selection is pretty good, through it could use a few more 90s machines in my opinion. My niece loves it, my friend's kids all love it, even I have a good time. It is a nice addition to the area. Sure, it's not as good a deal as Timeline in PA and it's not a pinball Mecca like Pinballz in Austin, TX but it's a fine little modern family arcade. All the problems I have with it are personal nitpicks about games selection and layout. Like I said above, more 90s pinball machines would be my preference. Maybe some cocktail cabinets instead of the tables and a few different choices in the turret style shooters. Seriously, why no Revolution X? Like I said, nitpicks. I haven't played their laser tag or eaten in the cafe, so I can't comment on those. I haven't used their bowling lanes either because whenever I have gone there is someone using it, but they seem to be enjoying it everytime. Finally, I can also say that my niece, who is a small child, has won on two of the games mentioned in other reviews, take that as you will. read more

The place is constantly empty and for a reason : It sucks. The games are greatly over priced. The games don't even take cash. You got to buy a card with credits on it to play. There are a lot of games though and this place is huge. I never tried the food but amazingly enough, they do take cash for that. This place needs to make significant changes immediately or it'll be history in a few months. I got a question for the owner: What were you thinking when you built this place? I love the old video games and I feel like I'm 16 years old again. I give this place 6-12 months and it will be closed unless something major happens. read more
