Service was great, they weren't very busy so it was easy to get a table and get served. We paid $40 for a private booth but were the only customers in the facility. So the extra $40 was wasted. She signed us in and then stated that she would be next door with another group in their escape room during our hour on the axe throwing lanes. Half of our group had never been axe throwing, she barely showed or explained throwing and was out the door. I have been to other businesses before and it was customary for them to stay with your group, ensure everyone was successfully throwing and then lead some games. Instead, our hour and $212 was wasted trying to learn on our own. I would never visit here again nor recommend.

I'd never thrown axes before but had some time to burn before dinner so gave it a try. You sign up for different increments of time; I got 30 minutes. Several lanes are available. Think of it like a short bowling alley - but with axes. As it was my first time I received a lot of mentorship. Turns out I was throwing too hard, so the axe handle kept hitting first. But when I loosened up I was hitting near the bullseye fairly consistently. Obviously - sharp weapons and alcohol go together, so there is bar stacked with craft beer. Noshes are also available although I didn't try that. My favorite setting was the one where you throw against projections of zombie heads. After I found that one, I basically stopped looking at other options...because why would you? So there you have it; sharp weapons, alcohol, and training for the Zombie Apocalypse, all wrapped into one!

We started throwing in leagues here at end of 2022 and have been enjoying it since. There's bowling football (kinda), darts, and occasionally corn hole. In the summer, there's food trucks and a restaurant has opened at the end of the parking lot. The drink variety is pretty great with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages along with snacks. You get coaching when you go in for a group to help you learn how to throw and get to play a variety of games. If you have enough time, you can try throwing the big axe. What I like most about Urban is that the employees are super welcoming and the axe community is too if you decide to join a league. You can learn to tweak your throw from a variety of different people and hone in on your technique. You don't feel bad when you're first not great at throwing since so many people want to help. There are various groups that host fundraising events and charities that collaborate like BARCS and Baltimore Humane Society. Give Urban a try!

This was booked for a work team event…read more Axe throwing is hard. So I tried the rage room ($30 per person for 30 minutes), I liked trying it once but it's not my thing. Too aggressive. The rooms are tiny. The shards of broken glass got in my boots :( Ouchie. The earmuffs don't work well so also my ears were also ... ouchie. The staff has an attitude that will grow on you, I'll just say that lol. The inside smells like sweat and beer. They serve snacks and alcohol if you like that.
