So many donuts to choose from!
    G S.

To be quite honest, I'm not much of a big donut fan. But, when a craving for a sweet does hit, I make my way onto Staten Island to stop at a Tim Hortons. Tim Hortons Hylan Boulevard location is filled with an abundance of different donut types. They are constantly baking fresh ones around the clock so you always know that you'll be getting a fresh doughnut. They make some of the tastiest, and delectable pastries I have ever tried! Everything, from classic donuts, to their creative selections, muffins, and their large and fluffy cinnamon buns are always fresh, filling, and satisfying! I have never been to this Tim Hortons location or any other on the island and had a donut that I did not like or find fresh. My favorite donuts are the maple dip, honey crueler, and their little blueberry Timbits. They also make great muffins; their fruit explosion one is probably one of the best. Their blueberry is quite bland; that might be the only product I'll admit I like from Dunkin' Donuts better. Even the layout of the restaurant is quite neat; I never really find any spots or stains on the floors or tables. Their staff is quite nice as well. They are very friendly and they always greet the customers with a smile. Very patient, and very knowledgeable in their products as well. Be sure to try their other foods as well! To be honest, they do make pretty yummy lunch and breakfast options. They also make some incredible coffee! They get their coffee being straight from Guatemala, so you know their coffee is going to be strong and superb! Never watery, never bland, always just right! One of my favorite coffee spots! Wish they had locations down south!

I love the assortment of fresh pastries,I would eat 2 dozen of I did not love Robert Moses so much!!!There was a mild language barrier..maybe I tawwwk in long islandese to fast so I get it,lol.I did not see the option for black iced coffee so I opted for iced caramel..milk was very diff for me in my coffee.Sweetheart had the same.We split a honey dipped and a sour cream glazed. Both were moist(I rarely use that word...) and well glazed. The ladies room was clean and thankfully not being used. It was quick and hit my sugar craving spot! PS..TODAY I MADE ELITE!!WOO

Finally another option for coffee. Food is much better than Dunkin. I also think the coffee is better and stronger.

Overrated, even the over the top sugary donuts. They need training on how to run the place.

I went with the #4 (Menny Special) and #7 (Che Si Dici). Both are very different, both are great. If you want something savory and warm- go with the #4. If you want something that's more 'Italian' and cold cut oriented with a hint of sweetness, go with the #7. Charlie's doesn't really overcomplicate their recipes. The menu is a bit long (given the different combinations), but that's because their experiments are tried and true. The bread is excellent, not sure if made in-house but they're light, toasted, holds the sandwich 'innards' well (though some tectonic sliding iykwim) but still makes for a perfect big bite. Now these are not MASSIVE heroes like Lioni's (this is a good thing), but do consider these sandwiches more of an indulgence/treat. Well worth the trip/price.

I walk into a small shop, the large menu is front and center. I read on line what I wanted, the #6 - The How You Doin You're not finding this sandwich name in LA! This spot is pure Brooklyn, with some great sounding sandwiches. Trust me, I looked over the menu and wanted to try everything on the menu. The #6 was a fantastic choice, Fresh Brooklyn Italian bread with a perfectly Fried Chicken Cutlet and topped with Roasted Peppers, Fresh Mozzarella and completed with an Oil Balsamic drizzle. Cash only spot, that's ok. Take my money! I'm coming back for the Thursday Special, the Homemade Roast Beef and Melted Fresh Mozzarella sandwich. (How awesome does that sound?!)

They're known amongst my family for bringing out this ENORMOUS bread that seems larger than anyone can eat but you're surprised not only by the fact that it's hollow inside but also how quickly it disappears when you're enjoying the fabulous meze platter (a variety of dips that you can enjoy). My grandma got the lamb shish kabob (which was huge) and my boyfriend got the lamb adana. I got the mixed grill. Everything tasted delicious and we were very full with still more food to take home after we ate our fill. The portions are large and the staff is friendly and attentive. Our waitress came by a couple times to check on us and staff was quick to take away plates we were finished with and wipe down the table in between so we didn't have crumbs everywhere after the bread course. The interior of this place is also really lovely. They decorated for Valentine's Day and also put on the Olympics on TV, though none of the seasonal decor nor entertainment felt like it overpowered the cozy atmosphere of this place. My favorite part of it is that the seating feels incredibly cozy because you can sit in a nook with beautifully designed cushions arranged around the bench for comfort and style. Our meal was great as always and I'm excited to come back again!

Combined with their hot bubble bread is a treat. Shrimp casserole (my favorite dish there) comes out bubbling hot. You have to be careful not to burn your mouth and let it cool off a bit. Very tasty and the cheese melted on top gives it an extra touch. The crêpe for dessert was perfect. The fruit served with it was deliciously sweet. I'm lucky to have this place in my neighborhood.
