I am so glad I went with my gut because they were incredible! They came out perfectly hot, nice and crispy, and were tossed in a seriously flavorful sauce that took them to the next level. The space itself has a few tables if you want to sit and enjoy your food, along with a super convenient self-serve water station. Definitely a great, lively little spot to kickstart your morning--don't skip the tots!

They have a tiny sign hidden behind the water faucet, so small that I didn't see it in two visits to the place. About 20 minutes in, I was made aware of the no laptop rule and put it off to the side. At this point I hadn't even finished drinking my coffee or eating my pastry. As soon as I was done with them, the same boss lady came over and basically asked me to leave because "there were families looking for a table." She even had the audacity to tell me to "read the room." At this point it had been 42 minutes since I entered the establishment and about a half hour since I received my order. I was seated at the smallest table in the place and not taking up much space at all. It would have been tough for even two people to squeeze in to the table where I was seated. Adding insult to injury, in between my two interactions with the boss, a customer rudely asked when I would be leaving. It took all my strength to politely offer to share the table with her, but she just said she wanted the whole thing to herself. So in the span of about 20-25 minutes I had 3 separate conversations trying to justify my existence at this tiny table. It was unreal and I honestly thought I may have been on some hidden camera television show. This place basically wants to take your money and then rush you out so they can get more people in there. I understand the obvious dollars and cents motivation for this, but it's crass and callous and completely unbecoming of even a small town coffee shop. I travel about 200 days a year and I've been to literally hundreds of terrible coffee shops, but I've never in my life been treated this poorly as a paying customer. Maybe just place a big sign informing everyone of a time limit on how long they can sit. Or at least tell the guy who walks in with a laptop bag and blatantly sets up his laptop that he can't hang out there (like I said I was unaware of the policy so obviously wasn't hiding anything). I would have paid double, even treble, to just be informed in advance so I could patronize a different local business in Whistler and avoid that experience.

So far We've tried a few breakfast items, sandwiches, quiche, as well as a bunch of baked goods, all of which are delicious. They serve happy hour between 3 to 6 for various drinks, and some of their baked goods are on sale between 2 and 3 to make room for more items between the morning and evening rush. They also have delicious sparkling water on tap, which is super refreshing. Highly recommend a visit here.

As I'm the Deadpool Alpha, it follows I'd dine at the Alpha of Cafes) Lauren warmly greeted us Alpha Salad! For Alphas w/ chorizo. In a gorgeous skillet! That 62 degree egg and greens were spectacular! mmhmm. But see what can make it more spectacular! Cousin Sandwich! Short rib, scrambled egg, Dijon on a brioche. Hearty! Wow! Tastymite Scroll! It has Vegemite! And Vegemite is an acquired taste with the exception of the added magic in the Tastymite! Because it was gooooood as promised by Lauren! And of course a side of bacon! Nothing says American more than bacon and so you knew I made the Alpha Salad out of this world good by adding the bacon! Oat Dulce De Leche Latte. My oh my and oo lala. That is the drink to order! And yes again, Lauren was right! Would order everything, again! Thanks, Lauren et al. Woohoo!

I guess my expectations were a little too high and my eyes ordered more than I should have. Ordered 2 cinnamon rolls and a long John. I was quite disappointed in both. The cinnamon rolls were quite dry and not enough ooey gooey cinnamon, butter and sugar filling. The frosting doesn't quite melt either. It was only when you got to the center was when the cinnamon rolls were soft with filling. The other parts are just dry and flavorless. The long John was also underwhelming. They used the same frosting as the cinnamon rolls inside the long John. I guess I'm used to more of a custard filling. Sadly, I'm still in search of a great cinnamon roll in Whistler.

Inside is cozy and busy. Luckily, we were able to get the last table. This is a counter service restaurant. They will call your name when food is ready. There was no sign but looks like we bus our own table too and place dirty dishes and silverware in a plastic bucket. Although they are famous for their cinnamon buns we opted to try their crêpes and got one each from their sweet and savoury options: "Breakfast" savory crepe which includes egg, Black Forest ham, mozzarella and balsamic glaze. I dunno but it was a bit too salty for my taste. "NSB" for the sweet crepe: Nutella, strawberry, banana, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Now this was yummy! They also offer sandwiches and waffles, croissants, vegan pecan bars, brownies and other sweet treats. The chocolate croissant was warm and delicious. Their pastry display is so beautiful. There are so many choices that it can be overwhelming. The person who helped us said that they're known for their scones. So we decided to try the blueberry lemon scone and the bacon chive scone. Both of the scones were SO SO SO delicious. We also got lattes there and their coffee is also really good. We had such a good experience the first day that we decided to go back the next day. There was a line this time, but it was definitely worth the wait. This time, we tried the egg and cheese brioche, raspberry and white chocolate scone, peach tarte, and giant chocolate chip cookie. Again, everything was wonderful. You really cannot go wrong with anything at Purebread. I would eat here everyday if we had one by us at home.
