Food is great. Service is always good. It's has a nice lodge feel inside. I like to get there at 4pm when they open to avoid the crowds.

Just spent Friday Happy Hour at Timber Lodge. A friend recommended it and the Happy Hour menu looked good. The patio was small and was attached to the front of the brick building so it didn't look very cool so we chose to sit inside in the bar area, which is where you could order from the Happy Hour menu. We had a choice of 3 small booths or the bar so we sat at a booth. Our Server Allie was very kind and highly efficient. Everything was brought out quickly and she kept checking on us throughout the meal. We ordered the 5 meatball appetizer, which was delicious and enough for sharing. We also tried the steakhouse burger, which I found to be very salty but cooked perfect and the Philly Steak that was served fresh and loaded with peppers, onions and cheese. There was a small selection of draft beers and some bottles and cans. We ordered the Alaska Brewery IPA, Truth IPA, a martini and the Skyy Citrus Cosmos, that seemed watered down and not much flavor. We ended our meal with the Italian lemon cream cake that was the perfect size and not too sweet. I came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. I previously lived near the area before moving and it was once one of my favorite restaurants (when it was ran under the previous owner). I heard that the new owner was rude, arrogant, and awful but I'm the type of person that doesn't always believe here-say. Anyway, my parents arrived to my birthday dinner before me (on time), I was running 15 mins behind and the restaurant still didn't close for another 2.5 hrs. I arrive 15 minutes after my parents to my mother crying because the owner was screaming in her face. My parents are successful, retired, elderly, soft spoken, kind people.... The owner told my mother to "shut up" while she was explaining to me what happened. He then proceeded to get in her face and express how his restaurant does not want people like us in his establishment because "you people are always late" & something about lowering the value of his establishment. My 70 year old father was extremely upset. All of this because my parents did not want to order until I arrived. I'm extremely disappointed by the blatant disrespect and racism. I once loved this restaurant but we will never be back. He won't have to worry about my African American family again. I wish him nothing but the worse. When new ownership arrives I will attempt to try this establishment again. I feel sorry for any minorities (if any) that work for this man, I can only imagine how he treats you. read more

Just left Timber Lodge after dining there for Easter. Sadly disappointing. There were 8 of us dining - my family with our 3 kids, my in laws and my Dad. The bar service was slow but that wasn't the main issue. My daughter ordered Mac and cheese and as soon as it was delivered she saw a hair in it. The server was still at the table and took it and replaced it which was fine. Then my son ordered dessert - the brownie sundae - and he found a hair baked into the brownie. It wasn't until he was 3/4 through that he found it. My husband pulled it out for him. Once is unfortunate - twice in the same meal is unacceptable in my opinion. We told the server and the owner came over. Although he was somewhat apologetic he also felt the need to mention that they don't know if it could be customer's hair. It wasn't - in either case. He did credit both of those items but unfortunately the 2nd hair ruined everyone's appetite. Any food left - which was 2 additional deserts - were not finished. We also have leftovers that I will likely throw away. Our bill with the automatic 20% tip was $471 for 3 adults and 3 kids which is far more than we normally spend. That's a lot of money to leave feeling this disappointed. We had high hopes but won't be back. read more

We've been here before and it was great. Tonight the 4 of us got wedged into a corner table by the kitchen when there were many empty tables. The gals were on a bench and the guys were on chairs that backed up to other diners and it was very tight and uncomfortable. One of the diners behind us was so loud we couldn't hear each other at our table. Our waitress was pleasant but just not on top of things. One appetizer was meant to be shared and she never brought plates. She brought drinks and bread but didn't offer to bring the salads until the guys were done with the apps. She rarely came around to clear or check if we needed anything. We had to hold plates out of the way when a runner came with the mains. The steaks were not cooked as requested and after sending one back it then came out overcooked and the potato was cold. Not what we had come to expect from Timber Lodge. Edit: Wow what a response from an owner. If he's not happy with what was said he calls it a fabrication. Unbelievable. Saying he offered a choice of tables was not true. He led us to that table and didn't even wait to see that we were seated. This was the first time we didn't have a great experience at Timber Lodge. One guy in our party had never been there before and he didn't leave with a favorable impression. Every place can have an off night once in a while. read more

We were passing through Medina and really wanted to enjoy a nice romantic date at one of Medina's finest establishments... huge mistake on our part. $375 later (not including tip), this was the worst mistake of a stop. We were seated promptly at 8 pm when we arrived with no reservations. However, we didn't see our server for 15+ minutes. By this point our server has walked by us once or twice but never acknowledged our presence or even dropped off waters. We got up to ask the hostess to be seated elsewhere and she came running back rudely stating, "uhhh we're really busy tonight and have a new computer system. You need to be patient." Lol we were astonished - is this what "premium dining" service looks like? Now that kind of attitude is more than warranted for a IHOP or a Wendy's but when you're trying to charge premium costs for such mediocre and tasteless food, you need to hire the right customer service to align with your ridiculous pricing. Ok now on to the food. Omg... we ordered the couples dinner option and we had high hopes. We ordered medium rare, it came well done. We don't send food back so we left it on the table. The lobster was hard and chewy! Never experienced that before. I should've known something was off when I walked by the lobster tank and there were no lobsters in it. The table next to me complained about their food and demanded the steak be removed from their bill. We're not from here so can't recommend an alternative but this was a huge letdown and a very disappointing experience. Timber Lodge is a delightful, reliable "old school" steakhouse with a great bar and wine list. I've been coming here for the past three to four years, and I've never been disappointed. I really enjoy their prime rib, but their other cuts of meat are also really well prepared. The design and décor of the dining rooms remind me of those my dad used to take me to as a kid in the 70s. Actually, it hearkens back even further - probably to my grandparents' generation. Anyway, it generates a pleasant, nostalgic ambiance - the booths in the bar area and in the main dining room are really cool, ask for one if you can get them. It's also a lot of fun at the bar, and the ladies tending it are lovely and provide great service. My only gripe, and it's not really that big of a deal - I've learned to "slow down" a bit and be a little more patient than I was pre-pandemic - is the fact you can never reserve a table on Friday and Saturday nights and you might have to wait for an hour or more during those times. You can also not order take out then, so if you get an urge for their prime rib on a weekend night be prepared to wait for your table. On the other hand, if you do wait, you'll be well rewarded because it is pretty close to certain that your meal is going to be fantastic. read more

The food was not bad. The service was terrible. If Megan is your server, ask for someone else. We felt very ignored as attention was given to the table next to us, where they were drinking a lot. The only way to flag Megan down was when she went over there. It's ok. It's her tip. My dining partner is a very generous tipper and that won't be necessary tonight. What a difference the service makes. We had to ask for water refills, and the bread basket we saw on other tables. I was told because we hadn't ordered salads, our bread would come with the entree. Huh? Who wants it then? But she did bring it once we asked. Portions are large. My friend's scrod dish was quite average. He wasn't thrilled, but loved the asparagus. I had the Lake Walleye, which was huge and covered the length of the plate. There were veggies and rice on the plate, so lots to take home. However the "colossal" baked potato that is ordered as a side, after seeing the world's largest baked potato on another table, was extremely ordinary and in no way "colossal." The food was ok, but not worth the high prices. $10.99 for a bowl of French onion soup? $14.99 for lobster bisque or clam chowder? $36.99 for ribs? And $80 for a 1 LB. lobster tail? We took my parents out for an early Mother's Day dinner. I can't even explain how embarrassed I was to bring my parents here. For starters, it took us one hour and forty-five minutes to get seated after being told we would have around a fifteen-minute wait time. Next, once we finally got seated, THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. We never got our waters, there were kids running around everywhere, and the crayon they had put on the table was broken into three pieces. Along with this nonsense, children were running everywhere and spitting on the floor. Talk about hygiene! Once we ordered, it took us an hour just to get our side salads. (Just to get the order incorrect). After waiting for another half hour, WE FINALLY GOT OUR FOOD. Everyone who ordered got a steak and asked for Medium Well. On their menu, it described Medium Well as being "Slightly Pink". Oh what an understatement that was. Once everyone cut into their steaks, they were so raw we heard them mooing at us. My youngest daughter received a burger and asked for it Medium Well. She got rare. (Said to be nice). If we are being realistic, they just took the patty raw and slapped it on a bun putting it in the microwave for around ten seconds. My daughter wanted to be kind when the waitress came near the table and decided not to say anything about her burger. Until I said something, it was silence. Once we gave the waitress back my daughters burger, SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO COUGH ON IT WHILE BRINGING IT BACK TO THE KITCHEN. I cannot believe the nerve that not only the service has, but the cows as well. I heard some slurs coming out of our steaks. We will never be coming here again, it was TERRIBLE. Go to Dollar Tree, get a JimmyDean Steak breakfast burrito, DONT heat it up. And I guarantee you it will still be more cooked than our steaks. Once our waitress finally showed up after about 10 minutes, we told her we wanted to take it slow. I wanted to set the expectations up front so we were both on the same page. I told her we wanted to order a bottle of wine, enjoy it for one glass and told her we would then each order an appetizer and then after we eat that, we would order an entree. She proceeded to argue that they time everything and we should give her the entire order up front. I get that she wants to turn the table as fast as possible but every time at Timber Lodge we have put our entire order in upfront, everything comes before we are finished with the last course. We ordered everything separately in order to avoid that. The food was good but when the large "Nevada cut" of Prime Rib came out it was actually the smaller cut. We both told her that it was too small and she grabbed both plates off the table and returned to kitchen. When she came back, she had our original plates, admitted they were too small and gave us each another little slice of Prime Rib. We were a party of 6 that arrived on a Tuesday night and found the restaurant very crowded, which was extremely surprising to us. The atmosphere is rustic, with lots of wood, stone fireplace, and animal heads all over. There is a nice bar area that has seating as well. We asked for a table in a more quiet area because of the hearing issues of several of us, but the host just seated us in the noisiest section ever, right outside the door all the staff uses to bring food from the kitchen. It was not a table that worked for us at all because we couldn't really talk to one another across the table because of the poor acoustics and the location of our table. Our server was Kim and she was excellent. Service was quick, but not to quick and everything came out as we had ordered it. Most of us started with martinis, and my chocolate one tasted excellent. The menu is extensive, and there are also many options of add ons which were interesting. There were steak and seafood specials of the day. We were served warm rolls while looking at the menu, which were good. I settled on the house salad, filet mignon with garlic butter and the Asiago mashed potatoes. The salad was what a restaurant salad should be. It had lettuce and multiple toppings, including a hard boiled egg. The size was larger than expected and was good. My filet was perfectly cooked at the medium I requested and the mashed potatoes were good. All the food was served hot which is important to me. So why did I give it a 3 star rating, after I raved about the service and food? First, when you ask to be seated somewhere more quiet and you aren't, that's a take away. All the tables in the bar area were open, but they didn't want to seat us there. It would have been a much better experience for us. Second, the lack of prices on the drink menu are an annoyance to me. I don't ever mind spending money on good drinks, but I think it should be disclosed. Also, the server gave a great description of all the specials, but didn't provide any prices. My husband ordered one, and I was a bit stunned at the end when we received the bill. Was that our fault? Of course! We should have asked before ordering, but I have never eaten anywhere where they don't tell you the price of the specials. Atmosphere - Decent, but loud. The restaurant has a rustic feel. There is a small bar area that also has six or so four tops that is considered more informal dining. There are a handful of animal trophy heads hung in this room. The balance of the restaurant consists of a few dining area that have a combination of booths and tables. The tables are crammed in a bit. We were we arrived for dinner around 5:30 pm on a Tuesday night and by 6:30 the restaurant was packed. It was so loud that conversation was very difficult. Service - very good. Our server had a great personality and she was very attentive. Food - Excellent. Although the restaurant is primarily known for their steaks, the menu is varied enough. There is an emphasis at the restaurant on seafood (especially lobster) for the month of September. We dined with friends who have been here before and they loved the prime rib so much that they ordered it again and enjoyed it very much. I had the bone-in rib eye and my wife ordered the filet mignon. Both were great (very tender and flavorful). The house salad is excellent as well. The baked potato is big enough for 2 to share. My only complaint is that many entree items, especially the seafood, did not have a price listed and our server chose not to share any price information. Overall Value - Very Good. Prices are high (2 martinis, along with our steak and potatoes, totaled around $110), but portions are large and the food is excellent. Having said this, I have difficulty recommending this restaurant for special/romantic occasions due to the noise level and table spacing. read more

Timber Lodge hit it out of the park today! We waited last minute to make Father's Day plans. But we were able to call ahead for seating and we're seated soon after we arrived. Our server, Kim, was a delight. Friendly knowledgeable and efficient. Every bit of our experience was absolutely perfect- from the ice tea to warm bread, plump shrimp cocktail to fresh salads and our meals. Dad had a taste for prime rib, which their known for, so he and I both indulged. It was cooked perfect. Rare enough to be classic. But cooked enough for me, a heathen who prefers well done steak. Excellent jus and horseradish sauce. Moms steak was absolutely perfect and husband cannot stop talking about Chicken Cordon Bleu. Guys. When they say colossal potatoes, They are not kidding you. Crispy, salty skin with a tender potato inside. I got mine loaded and I have no regrets. Husband and I are plus size people, so comfort is key for us. Booths were ample size, plus seats. It was a hot day, but the restaurant was cool, comfortable, clean, and COVID friendly. All employees wearing masks. My wife suggested we visit Timber Lodge recently for dinner and I didn't object because I usually pick where we dine. We called ahead and were told that we would have a 10 minute wait for a seat. We waited 15 minutes and were seated at a table. The restaurant is pretty old and it has some nice history. It's decorated like a hunting lodge with deer and moose heads on the walls. There are scenes of pine trees and flowing rivers painted on the walls. Our server was friendly, detailed, and very attentive. She went over an extensive list of fresh items that were not on the menu. She also brought a bottle of wine to the table that they recommended. For once, I took two of her recommendations - the 21-day dry aged steak and a glass of that wine along with a salad. My wife ordered a chicken and rice dish. Our salads were very tasty and the wine was excellent. A while later, our dinners were served. My dry aged steak was delicious! It was cooked medium, as requested. I also tasted some green beans, which were also very good. The asparagus was lacking seasoning, but it was cooked correctly. All meals are served with onion straws, which were tasty, but I didn't want to fill up on them. The meal was a bit pricey, but it was very good and the service was excellent. Came here as a party of 6 to celebrate the end of the year. Firstly, all of our food was excellent. Some at our table got the prime rib, it was a great portion and cooked as ordered. I got their chicken marsala and mashed potatoes which were very good. Someone else got the special which was a beef Wellington. They said it was very good but for $60 (wasn't on the menu so we didn't see the price) that's just too much. Service could have been much better. Took probably 10 minutes to get our waters and then another 10 minutes to just get a canned beer, not even a draft. Then some at our table got their salads but it took some time before the rest of our party got theirs. It's not a big deal, but it sucks to be the person at your table who doesn't have anything. Note, parties of 6 or more automatically have 20% tip added, which is more than we would have tipped for the service. Food was great for us and it's a nice place, but with the service and the prices we probably won't be back soon. read more

It's been years so gave Timber Lodge another chance. Still over charged, and over exaggerated. It's the worst fancy place you can go to. My back still hurts from the old uncomfortable seating that hasn't been replaced but repaired. The steak pricing is really weird too. Also don't ask about the street corn for some reason they cut it up instead of giving you the ear of corn. Probably so they can charge more and give you less. I hate getting nickel and dimed at these low rent "fancy" establishments. Texas Roadhouse wins all day everyday in comparison. read more

This is a good restaurant. Very nice ambiance, lots of smaller dining areas instead of a big dining room. Lots of different menu items. The Lodi for is a delicious appetizer. We've dined here many times for special occasions. The last time we were in we ordered our favorite Prime Rib, which was fantastic. A table near us ordered the lobster. As the server was delivering their meals the rotten smell of bad seafood permeated the restaurant. It was horrible and ruined our dining experience. We decided that, if a restaurant could serve bad seafood, we won't be eating there again. So sad. read more
