This restaurant is the favorite dinner spot of my gf. I love it too and am always happy to stop by. The place holds more than might meet the eye upon entering. There is plenty of space at the bar, at high tops in the bar area and in different dining room areas. Service is always top notch as servers are uniformly attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We have tried and enjoyed many items I'm in the menu. The playtime we went, she ordered two sides of risotto for dinner: mushroom and spinach. Very tasty and well prepared, she was happy and had plenty of leftovers. I recently enjoyed their NY Strip, cooked perfectly to medium rare with sides of asparagus and mushroom risotto. Delicious! We're been there many times but have never tried dessert because the meals are so filling. Drink menu is very good with plenty of wines and beer plus a full bar. Always been a big fan of Triv's but not anymore. Had the ribeye for dinner and 1/3 of it was fat. Ate what I could of my steak and left the rest of the plate. Told the waitress it was a terrible steak and she even said, that's a lot of fat. She took my plate and spoke to her manager. He said "well, you've eaten it, and plus it's a ribeye so there's gonna be fat on it" - Not THAT much of my steak! Then they asked twice if we wanted dessert, and we declined both times. For a higher end restaurant that's over $100 couple I expect more. There is no way the chef looked at a steak like that and said "yeah, that looks ok to me". Not sure if it's the new ownership or not, but I had never had a bad meal there before . They should be ashamed of serving food like this...... read more

The happy hour was so good that I went back two days later to try dinner! You don't see happy hours like this anymore with great prices and quality food. Everything on the happy hour menu was delicious. The calamari was cooked very well and had a really good sauce/dressing. The chicken skewer had really fresh vegetables and a great balsamic glaze. The meat was tender and juicy. I don't eat red meat, but I tried the sauce that came with the peppers and the meatballs, and it was perfect! I love lobster ravioli but I prefer when it's made with red sauce. This lobster ravioli came with a white sauce and I was expecting there to be chunks of lobster but I think that everything was just blended together and stuffed into the pasta so it was more like a lobster flavor. Not my favorite, but it was still good enough to finish later. It's nice to sit on the patio when the weather allows and on some nights there is live music by the bar which was a great time! The singer/guitarist was very friendly and entertaining. On both nights, our server and bartender were very attentive and made sure to check on us often. I would highly recommend for a date night or just getting together with a friend. This was a Friday date night choice for us. At first when we parked it seemed so small from the outside. When you walk in you are greeted by a hostess with a big smile. Everyone that worked there were getting ready for the busy night. It was as if I was watching a perfectly choreographed dance. We were quickly taken to our table and a gracious lovely young lady came and took our drink order. She came back quickly and went through the specials. She had me at CHILEAN SEA BASS!! My husband ordered the Seafood Risotto. Our server kept us posted on our food order, made sure we had water, bread, drinks, etc. Ambiance was great, lighting, dark curtains between tables. It was also unbelievably bigger inside than I thought. Our food presentation was excellent. It was also a great temperature. Loved the food, absolutely delicious. One of my biggest shout outs was that the server and the chef made sure that they were very careful with my food allergies. Trivs offers great happy hours, appetizers, specials and the wine list isn't too shabby either. This time around we started with the scallops and they were like butter, perfectly seasoned with the right amount of char! Delicious. The fish was flaky, full of flavor and so light, abs the portion was huge. My husband loves the coffee crusted steak, medium rare and it's made perfect. Try a local restaurant, they have been around a bit, but that's a testament to their incredible service and high quality. I have eaten at Trvis before, and it is usually excellent. I ate there this week and ordered a swordfish sandwich and was quite disappointing. When it came, I was expecting a slice of swordfish on a bun. What I got was some kind of chopped and reassembled swordfish patty. It had no taste profile like swordfish and was quite dull. The major flavor came from a nice bun and fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion. I would not recommend this if you go there. My advice to Trivs would be to delete this from the menu array. I will go back to Trivs because it has always been very good in the past. read more

When we first walked in, they sat the three of us at a table for two. Usually this is not much of a problem, but the door and another table did not allow space to do this. The hostess attempted to push the table over without warning the guests she hit. Luckily the people did not pay too much mind. To avoid exacerbating this fiasco, we requested to sit at a different table. Upon first glance, all I could focus on was how the place looked tiny and crowded. After sitting down, I noticed the modern interior decoration paired with the dim and sophisticated lighting which did create a nice aesthetic. On Fridays, they also have soft rock live music. However, due to the congestion of the place, we could barely hear anyone in our party talk. We decided to just stay for happy hour appetizers. We ordered the Bocce Ball, the Caramelized Brussel Sprouts, and the St. Louis BBQ Ribs. The Bocce Ball was what held everything together- it was an excellent meatball smothered in marinara sauce and a variety of cheeses. I would advise against the Brussels though, they were mushy and under seasoned- I would bring your own salt if you want them. Could not believe these could pass as restaurant food! And the Ribs we're also okay, fairly standard BBQ style ribs, nothing to rave about. I would say the presentation of the food beat out the flavors. My sweet tooth took control once again so we ordered the Brownie Sundae. Okay, this was HUGE and pretty good. It was extremely decadent melt in your mouth chocolate goodness. If I were to come back, I would just stop in for dessert! All in all, it was a below average dining experience with subpar food. It was incredibly difficult to flag down the waitress, and at one point one of the members of the wait staff tried to take away a half eaten plate! Incredible. Luckily, the patrons of the place were patient and friendly, otherwise I could see this being a problem. read more

Was excited to try a new place for my birthday after recently moving to the area. Great cocktails and atmosphere. However, service was not to the caliber one would expect at the price point. Server didn't check in after delivering food, empty cocktail glasses for over 15 minutes, a little snotty, etc. Had the seafood risotto. Not good. Not terrible but not good. You eat with your eyes and it looked like lobster bisque dumped over rice. Not attractive. Risotto was not creamy. Seafood was ok. Obviously a popular place, but I don't think I'll return for a meal. Strongsville has no shortage of great places to eat. Trivs is one of the places to go if you want classy, high quality food served by amazing people. I'd put it right up there with Pomeroy House for the dining experience and food quality. Yeah, you're gonna plunk down $80-100 for two people for food, drinks, and maybe an appetizer, but this isn't Outback Steakhouse or some other chain. The owner, Mike, is a hands on owner who can often be seen visiting tables and asking his clients what they thought of the meal. I ordered the center cut steak with the salt and pepper glaze with rice and Brussels sprouts. It was absolutely amazing. One of the best meals I've ever had. They also have live music in the bar area almost every night! I can't say enough good things about this place. I have my usual haunts around town, but I was looking for somewhere "new" to take my girlfriend and her daughter for dinner. We were going back and forth when she suggested Trivs. I had only been in there once before, and only for a couple of drinks, but the only thing that stuck out in my mind at that time was that there was carpeting on the floor in the dining room, which is just a personal turn-off for me. That being said, it was something different, and I had heard a lot of good things about Trivs over the years from others, so I agreed to give it a try. I will start by saying that the service was excellent. The staff are friendly, energetic, and extremely attentive. I really enjoyed my interactions with all of them. Unfortunately that's where the enjoyment ends. Trivs bills itself as "one step above casual dining," and I would agree with that. I guess I was hoping that they were just being modest. They are not. While the menu appears to be more of a "finer" dining experience, it really isn't. I don't know. Old fashioned maybe; maybe a little lesser quality than what one would expect? Regardless, it was all just a miss for me. I included some photos of the meal. None of it was "bad," just nothing to write home about. The Bruschetta was probably my favorite dish, the duck spring rolls were probably my least favorite, and everything else was just sort of in between. I wouldn't recommend Trivs personally, as I think there are better options in the area, but if you do end up going, I think you'll find friendly service and "decent" food masquerading behind a higher price menu. read more

Food leaves something to be desired. I ordered the walleye sandwich not much walleye first off, secondly it was mushy and it was bland. I got the sweet potato fries with it which were not great and bland super thick and chewy. My friend ordered the rib eye wrap it was decent. With the beer battered onion rings which were not good. Kitchen was slow took fifteen mins to get our food even though there was maybe five tables in the place. Had the grouper special and hubby had seafood risotto. Fish was great but risotto was way overcooked. His was ok but again the risotto was not good. Not a whole lot of seafood for the price. Said there was supposed to have lobster but I think it was chopped up so much you couldn't tell it was there. Sat on the patio and it was nice. The inside looked very nice. He was set up in the corner of the bar. The BBQ ribs that I ordered were covered in the BEST bbq sauce I have ever had. Made in house.
