Great service and even open during snowmageddon! I'd come into town specifically to meet a few of my college buddies and it was snowing like crazy. A lot of places were closed down, but these guys were open and I was glad. Not only was it a great atmosphere and fantastic service, the food was amazingly good! What I really enjoyed were the appetizers upfront with the cauliflower bites taking the number one spot! Crispy and so good. The tater tots were a must have and the shrimp was amazing. My Nashville hot chicken was great. My friend had the tacos which were humongous. Another friend had the burger which really hit the spot. This is a great place to eat for sure.

Overall, good food and service - would return. We had a large group at lunch time on a Wednesday. Service was smooth with quickly getting drinks, taking orders, and with food coming out. Most of us at our end had salads. The beet salad with added chicken was very good. Most beet salads a don't have a lot of greens, but this was more greens with some beets. Nice ratio! Other favorites were the wedge salad with steak. We also had an order of fries and tater tots for our side of the table. Fries were good, reliable fries. The tater tots are very different than typical tater totes. They had seasoning and different texture than I've seen other places. It reminded us of the flavor of potato pancakes.

Weird experience for me. Just a different one I guess.. I don't eat seafood but I think when you can smell it very strongly in the parking lot, that's not a good sign? Idk though... I mean I can see if it were a restaurant specializing in seafood but I don't think that they are. So when you walk into a restaurant you step up to the greeter stand; do you A. Wait for them to great you B. Immediately say "party of two" Well we waited, then the gentleman said "what can I help you with?" I was totally caught off guard; am I in a department store or a restaurant...Food, a table... Very hard getting over the strong seafood smell. I would imagine this may be fine for people that eat it but I am highly allergic to it. This was the plan for today so we ordered reluctantly from the happy hour menu. The choices seemed exciting enough but we were extremely underwhelmed. This post is long enough. We won't go back.

Went with the kids after a long day of traveling. Everything was great. From the tater tots to the burger. The kids loved their chicken fingers and rigatoni, I had the smash burger which was exactly what I wanted. Service was perfect with great recommendations on food that we all liked and recommendation on a local beer. Felt warm and cozy in the restaurant, great for a nice, relaxed dinner.

Stopped here for dinner while visiting family. It had a great ambiance and vibe. We ordered the cauliflower bites as an appetizer and thoroughly enjoyed the sweet and spicy hili sauce. It was packed with flavor and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Parmesan which good but lacked a lot of flavor. Our server wasn't the friendliest or attentive, had to ask him twice to refill our water glasses because he forgot and he didn't seem to want engage when we asked him questions about the menu.

I went here for lunch with co workers. The word tavern is a little under stated for this restaurant. It is a very nice up scale "tavern". Decor is amazing, lodge like, open air seating and airy in the dinning area. I had the lunch chili with half a tavern smashed burger, Fantastic. I think it is really a whole smashed burger with only half the bun!!!! Prices reflect the quality, and decor.

I was visiting family in the Solon area over memorial weekend and had dinner at Burntwood tavern on night. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and and a great patio area. We were there on Memorial Day so maybe not the best day for judging a restaurant as many staff way down for slower business. Our server did a great job food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen. We had a blackened salmon salad , fish and chips , the smoked wings and an app of house made tots. When the food arrived it was presented nicely and everything tasted good nothing exceptional but a solid meal. I will give it another shot being that the day was not the best to create an opinion from

The restaurant was lively and bright inside, with eclectic decor. Lots of seating options as well. We started with some cocktails, and I was impressed with the flavors combinations they offered. The violet skies was refreshing and light with the perfect amount of sweetness. I also tried the goddess spritz, which had a great watermelon flavor. The crispy calamari was a great starter, both sauces (chili aioli and curry aioli) complimented the dish well. Prior to our entrees, we also enjoyed some sesame red bean paste balls, which I LOVED. The flavor and texture were great. As an entree, I ordered the market fish which was a monkfish with mushrooms, green beans, and pomegranate. This was the best fish I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly, and all of the flavors blended together beautifully. The mushrooms were a great compliment to the nuttiness of the fish. 10/10 dish. I also tried my partners dish, the Sunday sauce, and it was delicious! The different meats in the dish made every bite full of flavor. The meatballs were also well balanced. Lastly, we enjoyed the house-made tiramisu, which was divine. It was rich and creamy with an amazing coffee flavor. Truly a wonderful way to end the meal. The ambiance, great. The food? Amazing. But the best part of our experience was our server, Kean. He made this experience for us truly memorable, and I would recommend this restaurant just based on his hospitality alone. He was attentive, gave us amazing recommendations like the market fish & the calamari, and overall we just really enjoyed chatting with him. I will be back, see you soon Elle!

We had an amazing time. From all perspectives (e.g., a warm, inviting dining room vibe, a thoughtful menu and carefully crafted cuisine and drink preparation - loved the octopus app and entrée options, the high touch yet non-intrusive service, etc.). Elle far surpassed our expectations and should be high up on your list of Cleveland 'go to' restaurants. The food was overall, very bland. It was expertly prepared, fresh, and beautiful. But the taste was quite boring. Be prepared to eat a second dinner when you get home. Also be prepared to sit at the bar- this place is very tiny. The vibe is nice. Low ceiling, dimly lit, comfortable cozy. The server/ bartender (I'm pretty sure she was running the whole place) Nikki, was phenomenal. So friendly, good drinks. We started with the oysters which were good. The mignonette sauce was a little different, it had lemon zest in it. It was very good! But the give you laughable amount. Like, a splash. Then we had the fig and prosciutto toast. This was the highlight for us. Tasty all the way around, 4 generous servings on the plate. Jam was so good and the prosciutto was warmed up ever so slightly. I had the hangar steak with some unseasoned boiled carrots. The steak was tender and high quality, but I couldn't taste a bit of seasoning. Also served with a tiny crispy potato pancake. Husband had the halibut special. This had some wasabi crust and if you got a bite of the wasabi it was good. The bites that weren't crusted were boring fish. Again, very fresh and prepared well. Black rice and asparagus also boring. I got a hint of lemon on one bite I tried. We also had the Brussels sprouts, which were charred along with the few pork belly pieces. Husband finished with a whiskey crème brûlée which he enjoyed. He did not, however, enjoy his Dark and Stormy. He said it was all booze and no beer or mix. Sadly, we won't be back.

Per our request, our party of six was seated on the outdoor patio overlooking the Chagrin River waterfall, which made for a beautiful setting. One thing to note: you cannot reserve patio seating in advance, but you can request it upon arrival if space is available. We started with four appetizers: *Heavenly Biscuits - AMAZING. *Short Rib Potstickers - Excellent. *Spinach Artichoke Dip - Excellent. *Grilled Artichoke - Good, but not really my style of dish. For entrées, we tried several different items: *Grilled Fish of the Day (Grouper) - Excellent, although the portion was on the smaller side. *Lake Erie Walleye Fish & Chips - Very good. *Thai Steak Noodle Salad - Excellent. *Steak and Frites - Excellent. We also ordered two sides: *Coleslaw - Very good. Is it the best coleslaw I've ever had? No. Is it excellent and worth ordering? Absolutely. *Roasted Baby Yukons - Excellent. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the restaurant graciously provided a complimentary dessert sundae. While the gesture was appreciated, I do wish guests were given a choice of dessert. The sundae was fine, but with several outstanding ice cream shops nearby, the ice cream itself was fairly average. Service was quick and efficient overall. There were a few minor areas for improvement: Wet naps would have been appreciated, as we had to request extra napkins multiple times throughout the meal. Service slowed down a bit during the dinner rush. The steak entrée arrived noticeably later than the rest of the main courses, which may have been due to the kitchen being overwhelmed. It also took a little longer than expected to receive extra plates when requested. These were relatively minor issues, however, and did not significantly detract from the evening. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience with great food, a beautiful patio overlooking the waterfall, and solid service. We would gladly return and would certainly recommend it for special occasions or a nice evening out.

Tonight my wife and I decided to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary at 17 River grill. Now I've…read morebeen there before no stranger to it but I felt there was some issues that needed to be addressed. Our reservation was for 7:30 we arrived about an hour early just because I really like being prompt. At first glance when you walk into place I reviewed the dress code. Apparently I'm the only one that reviewed the dress code. Baseball hats, t-shirts hoodies not the collared shirt casual business attire that was required on the website. We checked in for our appointment our only prerequisite is we really wanted to have something with the view for our anniversary. We waited in the bar and ordered some drinks while I pass the time with my lovely wife. There is a fruit fly issue that needs addressed. I could not help but notice for all the employees standing around they're certainly were a lot of tables that went un bussed. As you had people that wanted to be seated one could logically deduced that bussing the table with one way to do it. After a while I went back up to the server station to check on our status all three people at the service station were entrenched into their phones. Tick tock, Instagram doing anything but bussing tables and tending to the customers. I interrupted the ladies whom were supposed to be working to have them check on a table for me. Nothing was available yet but the table had to be cleaned off. Ironic because they could have put their damn phones down and cleaned the table. One of the biggest time wasters with employees and restaurants is that phone. There's a restaurant in Cleveland called Town Hall that once reported to work your phone gets locked up therefore you get locked in to your job. This place would benefit greatly by making their employees lock their phones up. We ended up getting a table on the patio downstairs and my wife nearly bit it on the dirty and greasy carpeting as we walked downstairs. It was gross and indefinite need of being cleaned. Overall everything seemed sticky and dirty windows made it feel unclean. We were seated at our table for about 12 minutes until we were approached by our server she was very nice but clearly she seemed a tad overworked I'm not sure how many other tables she had. I counted no more than four different servers and two busboys walking by this table that had a bunch of dirty glasses on it and nobody bothered to pick it up. My steak frites were the highlight of the evening my wife had the filet which was also amazing for her. We had finished our mail and our conversation and we're ready to go but unfortunately our server was MIA. I could see her through the windows she wasn't wasting time she was actually working she appeared to be one of the only ones working. She must have received my message and came out to bring us a box and the bill. I went into the into the restroom on my way out of the door and in the men's stall I couldn't help but notice the lock had been busted and you couldn't lock the door. Which was super awkward as I was using the restroom there was a fellow who opened the door and got an eyeful. Nice evening cap. As we traversed the slippery greasy steps to head back up and back out I couldn't help but think how far this place must have fallen. I was unable to spy any management as I kind of felt feedback was necessary at this point. I chuckled to myself as I passed the hostess station in the same hostess that seated us, that I had to have her get off her phone to seat us was still on her phone. Must have been a really good video. So to whomever the owner or manager of this establishment is do yourself a favor: eliminate phones. That's the only way to save this place. There's no excuse to leave glassware and dishes piling up on tables that could be used to seat folks that want to have an enjoyable dining experience. * Clean your establishment. * Eliminate phone usage. The lack of productivity did not go unnoticed. I was not the only customer whom noticed. * Repair broken restroom locks in the downstairs men's toilet * Address the fruit fly issue in the bar * Degrease the steps and carpeting before someone is injured * Make an attempt to enforce the dress code so you don't look like a chili's * MODs need to be visible. Management by presence is an effective way to enforce duties. It's a shame that a place with such a fantastic view is not a place I would go back to.
