I've been hearing about this place for almost 2 years from my BF who used to work here when it was Medina Steakhouse. When we finally wanted to make a move to go during Valentine's, it was temporarily closed. Alas, we had to wait until the end of year for my birthday when it reopened to try it out. So I my anticipation and expectations were quite high at this point. This place really is more like a 2.5 star BUT I wanted to sprinkle a little recognition to the very solicitous (and attractive) servers as well as available parking. This place is billed as a French restaurant but their updated menu was completely devoid of all French items. This was a major bummer as I love French food and style of cooking. No duck, escargot, confit, nada. It was a bland menu with common Italian dishes. I ordered the pasta carbonara for my entree and was thoroughly disappointed. They used bucatini (while this is one of my fave pasta shapes) which is all wrong for carbonara. There was a lack of sauce as you can see from the picture and no eggy flavor at all. It was drenched in parmesan flakes and they didn't even use guanciale or even pancetta! The portion was too small for a pasta dish and for the high price. Our appetizer of pork belly was delish but I would've gone easier on the frying. BF's entree of spatchcock chicken was great as well. I ate a lot of that instead of my entree... Not impressed that in a place like this, they asked if we wanted to tack on bread service for $5.99. Wow, they can't even include it like most restaurants? Non merci! I look forward to going to a real French restaurant a lot closer to me with real French dishes and perhaps even free bread/rolls, literally SOMEthing. The newer one in Chagrin Falls looks tempting and authentic!

We received a Serenite gift card in a recent raffle basket. My wife requested that we visit, so off we went. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. We were given menus and our drink requests were taken. Since this was our initial visit and we had a gift card, I requested more food than I would have otherwise. We had an event after dinner, so we were on a time budget. For dinner, I requested duck and my wife, mussels. The side dishes that I selected were ratatouille along with some mushroom risotto. A short while later, our food was delivered and it looked amazing. My favorite dish was the ratatouille - the vegetables were fresh and absolutely delicious. My second favorite dish was the mushroom risotto - it was smooth, creamy, and filling. Loved every bite of it. My third favorite dish was the duck. I have decided that I don't like the gamey flavor of duck as much as I thought. It was cooked correctly and it was served over some thinly sliced potatoes. The problem I had with the dish was that the sauce under it had the consistency of water. I think the sauce should have been thicker. It permeated the potatoes and made them wilt. The flavors were good though. Our servers were very friendly. The manager greeted us and he was also very friendly, fixing an issue we had with the gift card. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

This place was really pretty on the inside. With all of the historic buildings in medina, it did not disappoint. Our servers were very nice and informative. We made a reservation in advance. The smoked salmon canapé's live in my mind. I wish I could eat them again and again. Everything else was delicious as well. As someone who loves cheese, the selection they had for the fromage was wonderful. We love sage derby cheese!

Tried this place out for Valentine's Day. We did the 4 course tasting menu. I started with a spinach and strawberry salad. It was sparse on the strawberries and almonds. Second course was artichokes that were wonderful. Third course was sirloin and lobster. Sirloin was very undercooked for the temperature I requested. Dessert was crème brulee that was great. My husband got the Caesar salad for first course which he enjoyed. Stuffed peppers for second course that were okay. Same third course. Fourth course was a chocolate duo which was his favorite course.

Who'd have thought? Mom and I are in Medina, OH and we found the BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!!! More than just the food, which was amazing!!! The culture, respect amongst staff, mission and the positive energy was palatable. We stopped in early, before opening, they let us in for a quick glass of wine and we met Rick the manager, Todd the chef and Lily the hostess. Made a reservation for about an hour later and then checked into our Bed and Breakfast next door. We had no idea what we were about to experience. This evening was amazing!! We started with the Ginger/Pear Martini (Le Poire Petillant) and shared the crab stuffed calamari. Then split the beet salad which which was deliciously, bity with the balsamic dressing and paired beautifully with the Malbec red wine that was next in line. The star off the show was the entrée which was ostrich steak, surprisingly similar to beef, as it is a red meat, and amazingly better than one would ever believe, served with a mix of root vegetables in a unique red wine reduction glaze on top. Last but certainly not least was the table side Cherry Jubilee we decided to crown with the Magic Rabbit Espresso Martini. https://sereniterestaurant.com

Always a good spot for a special dinner, date night with you and your loved one or a date night with friends. Took my girlfriend here for the first time. Let them know ahead of time that it was her birthday. We had reservations at 730 and we were almost late due to getting a flat on 71 but they were very accommodating. The hostess greeted us and wished her a happy birthday as well as the server and GM. She got the scallops and I got the elk loins. Both dishes were excellent. We also got the salmon canapés for an appetizer and it was delicious. The drinks were great too. For dessert she chose the chocolate duo and they put happy birthday around the plate. Restaurant has a great concept and great food. Bring your wallet but I can tell you, the food is worth it. We will definitely be back.

I meant to write this review months ago, but I never really go on Yelp to write a review because I feel word-of-mouth travels better. This is one of the best experiences I've had as far as service goes everybody I encountered was so kind and knowledgeable with the food and drinks. I had been meaning to check this place out for about a year or so, but didn't really have the time. Wow am I happy that I did. I love the aim that the restaurant represents. The concept is just straight hope and creativity and personally I feel a lot of establishments lack both. I was also able to try steak tartare for the first time in my life something that seemed so illusory to me I have to give special credit to the owner for making the experience one of the best I've ever had. Both my wife and I are big fans of Brandon Chrostowski and all that he is trying to accomplish with his "Pay It Forward" concepts and programs. We've followed him from L'Albatros to Edwins and now on to Serenite. We were a bit delayed in celebrating our anniversary this year (it is in August!), but agreed that this was the right spot to try and celebrate it in style. The staff and service were delightful, attentive and helpful. The restaurant manager came over to greet us during a lull, and ended up helping my wife choose a bottle of wine to go with our expected meal selections. It turned out to be an excellent choice! The meal started off with a basket of complimentary (warm) bread and butter while we sipped our wine. That was followed shortly by a side salad we chose to split. The salad with sherry-hazelnut vinaigrette was light and bitey (due to the dressing). Next, the main dishes came out. The moules frites I ordered had the mussels (in a white wine butter sauce) served separately from the crispy fries. No matter, I dipped when necessary. The portion size of this dish was outrageous! Not sure I've ever seen that many mussels on a plate, but could not stop eating them drenched in that delicious buttery sauce. My wife's hanger steak was cooked a perfect medium-rare and the Diane sauce (demi-glace with mushrooms, brandy and cream) was divine. She ordered the French mac-n-cheese as her side, and with its fontina and vacherin cheeses it was one of the best "adult" varieties we'd ever had. For dessert, we shared two dishes...the bananas foster (made table side) and the beignets with a trio of dipping sauces (caramel, chocolate and raspberry coulis). My wife thought the bananas foster was better than any we'd had in New Orleans, and the production put on to make them in front of you is fun and interesting to watch. The beignets themselves were on the small side, but they were served warm with plenty of powdered sugar. As for the dipping sauces, go with the raspberry coulis. Going in I would have said either the caramel or chocolate, but the tartness of the raspberries pairs so well with those fried pillows of goodness. Yum yum!!! After the meal, they even brought us each out a small glass of Prosecco (with a candle attached to each) in celebration of our (belated) anniversary. It was a lovely touch. I am hopeful that Serenite continues to do great things (inside and out of the restaurant) and word spreads so that they continue to thrive. Keep up the good work, team!

Nice restaurant, excellent attentive service. Maybe a little too attentive? At one point, I felt the servers' constant checkups a bit overkill. Better than being ignored, I suppose. We had the pumpkin soup which had a thick applesauce consistency, which was odd, but flavored nicely with fall spices. It could have used something salty...like some roasted pepitas maybe. My vegan gnocchi was okay. Loved the flavors and the fact they offered a vegan dish, but found the texture squishy. Gnocchis could've used a sear in the frying pan maybe. The escargot...again...okay. There seemed to be quite a bit of parsley (or maybe it was oregano?) which overpowered the dish. We were pretty disappointed in our wines and probably my should've asked for a taste before ordering. That would be my advice to anyone: sample the wine before ordering. Overall, we had high expectations, with Sérénité being a French restaurant and all...and while we had super friendly servers, we weren't blown away by the food. Not to say we won't be back...I'd give it another chance. The menu looked quite interesting!

The garnish was a flamed cinnamon stick and orange rind that looked like a sword. It was incredible. The vibe is nice and patrons are friendly. It's not loud, so you can carry on a conversation, and the music was nice. There is a cute little back room with tables too for groups of 2-4 people.
