    Braised Pork Empanadas
    Tiffany W.

No idea about their pizza, but their empanadas are not worth it. I ordered 3 pork for $10. Mine were slightly burned and had something stringy inside that wasn't mentioned on the menu. I wasn't a fan of the sauce either...it was slightly sweet. Very unimpressed.

    Margheroni without basil :(

My friend and I grabbed dinner at Ballston Quarter this past Tuesday. We both ordered a pizza from Timber Pizza Co. Even though I have walked by this vendor countless times, it was my first time trying. My friend is a huge fan of the pizza here, so I knew it had to be decent. MARGHERONI - 14 This is the Margherita with pepperoni. Unfortunately, they didn't have basil, which makes half of what a Margherita pizza is. I thought the pizza was decent, seeing that I wolfed down 5/6 slices within 20 minutes.. The crust was good and chewy enough for me to eat it instead of leaving it behind. The pepperoni was on the greasier side. The mozzarella cheese was pretty standard. Overall, it was a solid meal, but nothing out of the ordinary.

This is a solid, fairly priced lunch option in the extremely overpriced Ballston Quarter mall. I got a personal pepperoni pizza that was delicious and filling for $14. Service was friendly, and my pizza was out in 5 minutes. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if I was in the area and in need of food, I'd definitely stop by for lunch.

    Margherita with Peruvian, sweet peppers

This Timber is hidden belowground in a mall food court, and lacks the charm of the Petworth original. The basic ingredients are the same, and there is plenty of quality there, Ordering a pizza with some Peruvian sweet peppers was wise; I don't know where you can buy those things but they are delightful. However, it was an awfully small pizza. My salad had some interesting puffed grains and was worth getting. However, I was not thrilled with the overall amount of food for the money. If you're in the area, sure it's a good pizza. But I'd rather go to Petworth or go somewhere else for a really top-notch experience.

So delicious! I got a cheese and bacon pizza and the crust was so chewy it was so delicious! Fast service too!

Decent inexpensive pizza. Came here after some disappointing bbq. Service was friendly . Food came out pretty fast. Two cheese pizzas about $22 or so. These are personal pan sizes. Very very thin crust. I would return if my kiddos wanted pizza and I was in the building.

The pizza was pretty good! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The size is a good size for a personal pizza. The taste was yummy but nothing exceptional. The dough was a little too doughy for my liking; could have used a tad bit more time in the oven. I got a Pretty in Pepperoni and added mushrooms. Next time I will try their specialty creations!

    Super greasy pizza

Update: The wood-fired pizza has really gone downhill. The last 2 times hubby and I were here, the pizzas were heavily coated in grease. After 1 slice I threw in the towel. Not sure if the staff changed? We really enjoyed coming earlier this year with the convenient Ballston location and could save ourselves the trip into DC to Timber Pizza. Quality control has become a serious issue and we'll have to drive to Pentworth if we're craving pizza!

    La Chula Pizza

Yeah, it's too good to be TURU! We tried pizzas from their special menu for this Memorial day's weekend: Veggie Supreme La Chula Pizza The blend of Mozzarella and Provolone cheese on both the pizzas was EXCELLENT! Loved the flavor of Spicy Apple Sauce over the La Chula. Definitely enhanced the taste! SO GOOOOD! Definitely gonna visit again soon!

Cheese Please with no tomato sauce and added spinach
    Lindsay H.

When I placed an order for a cheese pizza with no sauce and spinach, I initially wasn't expecting much in comparison to a lot of the other specialty white pizza's that I've tried in the past, but Turu's has mastered the art of simplicity when it comes to pizza. The crust on the pizza was delectably light and had just the right amount of chew in its bite! The cheese was wonderfully stretchy and not overly greasy. I would come back to the Quarter Market solely for this pizza!

Pizza, pizza, pizza!!! Turu's has some of the best pizza I have had to date!! Word to the wise, look at the whole menu and the specials before you order to make sure you are not missing anything or having an ah ha moment wishing you would of ordered something else. Your pzza of choice is made and cooked to order in front of you so you can see the process from start to finish. Watch them dress your pizza then slide it into the wood burning oven as your mouth waters with anticipation of the final product. The pizza was fantastic!! I am a lover of fresh mozzy on anything and my pizza is no exception. The pizza was pipping hot, the crust the right level of crispy and the cheese was melted, like melted melted. Playing it safe, pepperoni was the choice but I will be back to try some of the combos they have to offer. Staff was super friendly as everyone greeted you and all had smiles on their faces, you can tell they enjoyed the moment they were in. The wait is not overly long as they are super efficient and if you are unsure if you will eat it all in one sitting, get it to go so its already in a box.

When I had ordered previously, I always found that my pie was not ready and I had to wait. Each time, I waited a bit longer, and each time, still not ready. So, this time, ordered my pizza before 9:00 PM and did not depart immediately -- but instead waited a full 20 minutes before even walking there slow. When I arrived, the pizza was..... still not ready. It occurs to me that this shop is situated in a time zone that is somehow TEN MINUTES BEHIND the time your order is due. The guy says "five minutes." In any case, I stand, I wait.... and I.... wait some more. It wasn't five minutes. Lots of workers standing. Nearing the 9:30 mark, someone finally says "have you been helped?" And whadda ya know? Found out the reason I was still waiting - BECAUSE MY PIE WAS SITTING THERE THE WHOLE DAMN TIME! Getting cold. She says "we're just getting that cut up." But they weren't - it was already cut. They took one of their old pies off the rack and slid it right into a box. It wasn't in the oven. I could feel it was cold, but yes, I took it and went home. I can't say you couldn't eat it but.... it wasn't good. We did eat some of it, but only after baking it in my own oven. Good thing I ordered in advance, eh? If you are going to do a take out here, my advice would be to skip ordering altogether, and just go there and get the slices yourself. They won't be too fresh, but at least it will be fast. Better yet, go across the street to Quincy Hall, (or over to Wise Guys) where they will bake the pizza to order and have it hot and ready when you arrive. Keep in mind here they charge $32 for a pizza, full price only. NOT worth it, won't be back, do not recommend.

Doordash did a speedy job of delivering the pizza, so no quarrel with them. I grew up in NJ so I have eaten probably more pizza than the average person. I know what I like. I don't hold any pizza up to those standards because it just isn't fair to. Still, I enjoy Non-NY Metro pizza enough, which is usually what one finds down here. All that being said: This pizza is WAAAAY too salty! Almost inedible. IDK why this is. But both the sauce and the veggies are oversalted. I hope my blood pressure doesn't jump. I'm not looking for health food, people. But I also know flavor shouldn't be overpowered by NaCl. And now, I have a headache after eating a slice. G r e a t. Maybe this is an anomaly, but for a first timer, I don't know that I'd order from here again. Disappointing, and for what I paid for the pie (a medium which was over $30) I am not thinking I will try this again. Of course, if you dig lots of salt, this may be your jam. I like flavors beyond salt.

Enough about parking lol Went here at around 4pm on a Friday afternoon. Ordered a cheese, Hawaiian, and BBQ Chicken which was literally ready in 15 min. First impression was that the pizza looked kinda "pale." All of them had a significant flop and no crunch. Sauce is light to the point I had to look deeper to see if they actually used tomato sauce. Some slices were also not cut all the way through...which kinda frustrated me, especially when hangry and not wanting to deal with extra mess or breaking out cutting utensils. Cheese was cheese...Hawaiian doesn't look anything like the pictures....more like a puny version of the pic they had. BBQ Chicken tasted good and brought back memories of the same offering at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) All-in-all, I think leaving the pizza in the oven a tad longer to develop that nice undercarriage would've made a load of difference. But at that price, I'd rather stick to my Little Caesars.
