Timber pizza is newer to downtown and definitely with stopping in. Casual setting, seat yourself, order at the counter or bar. Thin crust with nice black char. Slightly bigger than a personal pizza but much smaller than a regular pie. Two salad choices; we picked the Samaan. With sweet potato and pistachios it was unique from other salad options I had and was happy to "fill up" on some healthy greens before pizza. Good size to split for an app. Cheese please pizza and pretty in pepperoni were our choices and we were happy. Went on a Thursday evening and there was no wait for a table, and our food came quick. There were 2 large outdoor tables, but I wish they'd add more small tables out there. You order at the counter and pick your seat. The kitchen is open concept and it's fun to watch them make the pizza. My husband and I split 1 pizza and the Caesar salad. Both were amazing! A Michelin guide restaurant, and I can totally see why. We ordered two pies for pickup, and it was really easy to modify all of the pizza pies to accommodate our dietary restrictions. The smell as we picked up both of our pies had us drooling over them. Both thin crust pies tasted great, although I will say the Bambino stole our hearts. A friend & I stopped in one night interested in trying a new pizza spot. Super cute from the outside, dark and cozy on the inside. Staff was friendly and very attentive. We got a couple pizzas to share so we could have some extra to take home afterward. Solid pizza. Friendly staff. Reasonable price point. We ordered 5 different pies, sat at the back picnic tables, ordered some bar drinks, and hung for a bit. Loved the pepperoni, ingredient quality, and yes, the wood-fired crust. Timber delivered a tasty, slightly charred, chewy, and crunchy crust. You can bring kids and comfortably sit 7 at the picnic tables. Our main/constructive feedback would be to either 1) change the ordering process or 2) add some big/clear ordering signs. For example, "Order food here", "Order drinks here", "Sit down here after you order", and "Pickup here." This is a DC brand that I vaguely remember from their food truck days. They then established a brick and motor location and what at the time was a fairly off the map part of DC for a restaurant and have since expanded throughout that region. Their expansion into Charleston surprised me, but there does seem to be a bit of a nexus developing between the two regions. I evaluated with a keen eye on whether it matches the original, a concern which I suspect will be esoteric to most I was not expecting it to be busy, but it was packed so I ended up just ordering takeout. The Charleston location is not in the easiest area to park. It is small indoors and had a couple of outdoor picnic tables. The pizza is a vaguely Neapolitan style. It does have some more American aspects, including the cheese selection and some herbs. I like the pizza, but it is a small and thin pizza that is not very filling and often serves is a good excuse to order the other things that they offer here. The old Timber had a Latin flair with empanadas and some excellent salads, and these have continued in Charleston. I got a nice looking salad accented with peaches that had some interesting crisps as well. My empanadas were charred much like a Neapolitan pizza and had a corn based filling. For my pizza, I added the miniature sweet peppers that are another distinctive touch. It isn't the best pizza in Charleston, or in DC for that matter, but their expansion has delivered some quality and distinctive flavors, and it probably will succeed for the same reason that the original has. read more

Fun new pizza place downtown! They have so many unique and interesting pizza choices and you can't go wrong. The service is great and the pizzas come out fresh and fast. They also have a good selection of beer and some really good mules. They have seating inside and outside, so take your pick! We ordered the green monster and the Westbrook pizzas and both were solid. We were in a large group and we got to try several different pizzas and they were all good. We will be back to try more! read more

Came here before with iur dog but we would have been alone outside so we came back without the dog. They do a good takeout business! Ok, so friendly staff, sat at the bar, nice bar. A few booths to sit.. The pizza are 12" so it's not inexpensive. The sauce was very good, the crust was very light, like one of the lightest. Almost like phyllo dough. So some plus some mixed. Came in on a Saturday and got a spot at the bar. I love that they have gluten free pizza and they offer dairy free cheese which is rare out here! Our pizzas were cooked perfectly! Came to Timber Pizza's grand opening and the music was pumping. The place had a great vibe. You are greeted with a nice welcome with an option to order at the counter or sit at the bar. I ordered vodka with fresh grapefruit to start which was perfect. For dinner you can't go wrong with the margarita pizza and LRF salad. I am very particular with my sauce on my pizza and I really enjoyed the flavor. As for the salad, I wouldn't change a thing, I enjoyed that as well. Host at the front was an amiable, attentive young lady who ensured we had everything we needed at our table by stopping by periodically to check in. I always find it odd when you walk into an establishment and aren't greeted. Just stared at. When I mentioned I had never been before there was no welcome or let me make a suggestion etc. As a relatively new place to the city, I would have expected a warmer welcome. Ok, we finally have outstanding pizza in Charleston! We are pizza connoisseurs and we love NY & Chicago pizza. Timber has a unique crust (thin and airy) and will make a profound impact on the Charleston pizza scene. The wine selection is simple and pairs perfectly with the pizza. The LRF salad was an exceptional start. We sat at the bar and Alee took great care of us. She was very cool, knowledgeable and had a a great vibe!. I work in the restaurant industry right by Timber and l've been a customer there multiple times and love the food. Though, for a Michelin guided restaurant, the service on the phone from the hostess is subpar. Never once has anyone told me I cannot pay cash at Timber when ordering pick up but today it was stated differently she told me "we don't accept cash" it doesn't say it anywhere on their website and l've never had that problem before. I don't have a problem paying card but the thing that upsets me is that after she said they don't accept cash, she just stopped talking on the phone and hung up. read more

What a fun way it was to spend our family night- Timbers Pizza thank you! We sat outside in the cozy courtyard and it was lovely- hand stained wooden tables, beautiful Japanese maples and perhaps creeping Jenny ivy on the walls. This restaurant has a very nice feel! decor was farm house mid century modern. You can see the pizzas being made and the owner is so friendly. Now for the pizza, it was meticulously and artfully prepared and incredibly delicious. We ordered The Bentley, Pepperoni and The Norman pizzas. Every bite was a party in my mouth and our young children gobbled down the salad with peaches and the pepperoni pizza. The crunch was in the crust and the bottom of the pizza was perfectly executed- not soggy and not hard. We can't wait to go back! read more

I ordered a pizza and they forgot to put one of the main ingredients, everyone else was being served , waited 40 min for one small pizza , when I got it the Bacon ingredient was missing- the main meat part of the pizza I returned the pizza and had to wait another 15 min for them to put the missing ingredient on my pizza , I lost patience and just left , you would think they would get their shit together. I was really hungry and just found the staff to be so passive and not customer friendly. They lost me as a customer. It's redicoulous that it takes 15 min to add an ingredient. I realize that the restaurant is new, however, it is part of a chain so they should know what they are doing. My pizza was very thin and not crusty. The additional mushroom topping was almost non-existent as was the toppings that came with the selection. We shared a salad which was wonderful and certainly enough for us both.
