OMG you have to come to the best ever eclectic pizza place in the world. We have been planning a trip to Folly Beach for six months. We wanted one night without seafood. Woody's was the best. We had a appetizer cheese stick and marinara, bbq chicken, bacon chicken ranch, and vegetarian pizza, italian sub, various salads , build your own pepperoni plus pizza. So delicious. Came here after needing some food during the Mermaids and Mateys weekend in Folly Beach. So glad we did! We had (I think Melissa) as a waitress and man was she awesome. We ordered, by the slice, a couple of pepperoni pieces and they were so good! Great ratio of cheese to sauce and the crust was perfect amount of done/crisp. The picky toddler was even all about it and that's saying something! The vibe of the place is perfect beach shake pizza, laid back, family feeling. So much fun to see the meatball drop, however likely the worst experience with a bartender ever. I've never seen a bartender actively tell off their customers patiently waiting to order. The five stars isn't because this is the best pizza in SC, but for island beach pizza in the south, this is as good as it gets. The Good: The pizza is a solid 7.2/10. It is hard to get a 7.2 anywhere in the south, let alone a beach bar in Folly beach. It's a 7.9 considering. Salad was as fresh as it gets. They didn't overcharge for a cheap bottle of white wine. Found a table out of the heat in the middle of the rush (which worried me at first). The Challenges: None to speak of. I mean it is a beach island strip pizza place. Skip the place down the street. This is a cute small pizza restaurant on the main strip of Folly beach. It mainly has outdoor seating of both tables and high tops. A positive of this restaurant is that the environment is very relaxed and it's fun to enjoy pizza while people watching on the Folly strip. Plus it is dog friendly! The service here was friendly although pretty slow. It is a very busy restaurant so if your wanting faster service I would recommend putting your order in all at once or ordering to go. We got the Woody's special which was heavier on cheese and toppings. I enjoyed it however it did not knock my socks off. I also got the cheese bread but am unlikely to order it again as it was pretty average. Overall this is a cute stop and would be a fun place to check out if you're craving pizza on Folly beach. Called Woody's Pizza for pick up on the way home from the beach. They opened at 5 at the exact time I called. Not gonna lie, my family and I were pretty hungry at that point after a day in the sun and the sand. The voice on the phone that picked up quickly put me on hold for a minute. Once the voice returned I placed an order for a large pepperoni and small cheese pizza. I was told there would be a 40 minute wait time. Around 30-40 minutes later I arrived to a pretty empty restaurant and bar. I saw two other customers in the whole joint. They had music playing and sports on the televisions. I went to the pickup window and asked for my order. It looked like the waitresses are also the bartenders and answering service over the phone. They were very nice, nonetheless. The order came out a couple minutes later and the boxes were still hot. The pricing was affordable too. Pizza Verdict: both the cheese and pepperoni pizza were good. Not too much cheese or dough. The crust was soft and tasty. Nice balance overall. They put the cheese over the pepperoni so you might not be able to see the meat well because of how they make it. I'm a huge pizza fan from New Jersey, so I always try pizza wherever I go. On a scale of 1-10 from low to high, I would give this pizza an 8. There aren't a lot of pizza spots in Folly Beach so this place has limited competition. There's another spot across the street and that's about it. That being said, if you are in the area and want a decent slice, Woody's is worth it. read more

We sat inside where it was a few degrees cooler. The ambiance wasn't loud or obnoxious. Our server greeted us, gave us menus, brought our drinks, took our orders and delivered food in a friendly, efficient and timely manner. She checked on us regularly, but not so much where it became annoying. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza with pineapple and a sub, husband had the calzone, son 2 slices of sausage and pepperoni and daughter 1 slice of cheese pizza. The sub hit the spot perfectly; zero complaints and highly recommended. However, I prefer Chicago style pizza to New York; I like my pizza dough thick opposed to thin, and Woody's offers the thin crust. The slices are much bigger than I anticipated, equal to roughly 2 slices of a large pizza. Personally, the pizza didn't really do much for me. I wasn't crazy about the sauce. But my other half absolutely loves this pizza. Greek salad was okay. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: -pizza was phenomenal -accurate order -sauce & crust were good -very generous on toppings -allowed topping substitutions at no extra cost Cons: -only deliver if you're on Folly Beach (wouldn't deliver even a stones throw away to James Island..not even a 1 minute drive away from the Folly sign) -the lady who took our order on the phone was pretty rude (short, snippy, tone was very irritated) All in all, the pizza made our negative thoughts from the poor phone experience go away and we would definitely order from here again.
