This is a good place for an overnight stay. Room was clean, there was a fridge and toiletries, and free water/drinks/snacks at the front office. Staff were very friendly and always available. Worst stay of my life. Absolutely filthy inside. This deceivingly had good reviews, but it was worse than if I had just gone to a gross motel. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. There was clear water damage all over. When I went to pull a tissue out of the tissue box on the wall, the metal plate fell off and scraped me. It exposed a disgusting inner wall, which made me not want to use any of those tissues. The carpet was filthy, and when I entered the room, it smelled so incredibly strong of a chemical it made me cough. It was about 10 at night when I arrived, and it looked like the windows had been kept open all day to air it out and it had not done that. I looked around thinking a Glade plug-in had exploded, but didn't find one. The bed sank in about 6 inches when I sat on it and no, I am not very heavy. The next morning, I woke up with extreme irritation in my throat from the chemicals, and I was having an allergic reaction all night with trouble breathing from the chemicals in there. The next morning, I went to the front desk to tell them that I would not be staying there a second night due to these issues. I mostly mentioned the strong chemical and my allergic reaction. They refuse to give me a refund for the second night that I had prepaid for because they require 48 hours notice of cancellation. He offered to give me another room that had not been cleaned for a few days so hopefully the smell would be better. It turns out that that chemical smell was Lysol. They had sprayed it on everything in the room and it was also on the bedding. They insisted that every hotel does this, but I have never ever had this problem or smelled these chemicals in a hotel room. I had to leave and pay for a different hotel for the second night. I am still hoping they will issue me a refund for the second night that I did not stay there. I informed them that I could not risk it with the breathing issues t and the chemicals that had poisoned to me all night. That this was a medical issue caused by bad practices and they still refused. They told me they would email the manager and maybe they could do some thing, but they would not make any promises and I would have to wait the whole weekend to hear back on Monday So now I am out $130 about and had to get a different hotel 45 minutes away. I don't understand how any of the reviews said this was a great place unless they just gave me the worst room they possibly had. Under these circumstances they're absolutely should've been a Refund And I hope the owner reaches out to do so and make this right. This motel was Awesome! The price was great, much less than other motels with less quality rooms. The front desk staff was polite, helpful ans k owlwsgeable when I had questions The lobby has complimentary Taryn fruit, cookies , fruit infused water and water The room was super spacious and hands down the cleanest and without foul odors. If ever in the area I would stay there again. It also had I dining table, mini fridge, microwave & coffee pot. Allow this motel is still renovating..ithe rooms available are relally nice & was quiet.couod barely hear the freeway. The new mattess in the room was super cozy, and comfortable. If you ever need a motel in that area I strongly suggest checking it out 1st, before the other places. read more

My husband was traveling from Lebanon, OR to Mount Vernon, WA in late April 2023. He got sick and had to find a hotel asap. He is lucky he found this hotel! They helped him to his room, gave him water bottles and bananas, and let him stay an extra hour or two after check-out. The compassion of the owner and clerk were outstanding! This Motel could be fantastic and my stay started fairly normally. I was in between residential residences and had to stay 15 miles out of town here as it was Easter weekend when I needed a room and this was the most decent motel available somewhat near me (little did I know our local tribal casino hotel w a pool and gaming and kids activities, had JUST OPENED also). So, around the west coast many Indian families are buying up motels, hotels, pretty much whatever they can and this was non the less. Now, for the record, I have nothing against any other nationality owning anything in this country, it is America. Everyone gets their shot. But the problem is that our culture and others don't always mesh well. Or have the same social cues as everyone else. So, I stayed in one of their family suites as I was with my sister and son, and for one weeks stay (from Tuesday to Tuesday) it was about $1200 total. I ended up staying about 5 weeks. The Motel was NOT very busy. Yet they moved my room once (total bitch to do) and then wanted to do it a second time for "spring cleaning". The toilet in our room leaked and was not promptly fixed until the end of our stay. Room keys hardly worked. There is no food, entertainment, or much of anything to do right off the freeway there (or really anywhere in Castle Rock (unless you want to hike to see Mt. St. Helens or lots of outdoor stuff). The staff of all men were PRETTY cool UNTIL.. Checkout day comes, right at 10am they start blowing up the room phone. Like really?? I could see if someone was ACTUALLY going to rent out our family suite but we were the ONLY ONES in that part of the motel for the ENTIRE STAY. So give this single Mom a break. I'm dealing w a 3.5 year old who is so confused why we had to leave his home base anyway (constantly asking when "can we go huome mommy?? " Tears follow ) so I called to get a later checkout at noon. Ok fine, he says. We had a ton of stuff too. And it was 85 degrees out. But oh no, 12:01, phone is blowing up AGAIN!! So I answered and as he explained if we weren't out very soon he was charging me for another night!! AUFKM???!! Oh, hold on while I beat down all the other potential patrons who need a room (NOT!!) so I can come give you assholes MORE MONEY!!!!! Because I couldn't get moved out EXACTLY at noon??? Does the $6,000 plus I just paid for staying not count for any kind of hospitality??? And staying in pretty much a SHITHOLE?? Guess not! Then he threatened to charge my card on file so I said "be my guest! Why don't we call the Sheriff too and see what he thinks douche bag?! Once he realized my card on file no longer worked, he then demanded that I come in before I leave to pay in cash!! Ha! By this point I was so pissed off I wasn't going to pay for SHIT more with these yayhoo's!!! I actually had to buy my own mop and shark mop back to use in the room because they were that dirty and the maid service was less than five star let's just say. Lovely young lady so I each tipped $100 for my stay there but they just didn't have a whole lot of guidance from the owner. The end of the story is I went into the office and pay them an extra hundred plus dollars for my overage on my time there which I got out of there by about 130 so an hour and a half after my late check out and I will never stay there again and I will tell every single person I know to never stay there because I too am in the customer service in the street and that is not how you treat a very well paying guest who didn't have to pay that much But is in a shitty situation right now with my home and it's just what I had to do. He could have cut me a break on one day or an hour and a half overage on a move out. It wasn't like I was just sitting there doing nothing, twiddling my thumbs we were actively hauling stuff out. And none of them offered to help me know they all sit around and talked in their language and tried to get tough guy with me and it anyways it's unfortunate because I did like the guys when I first arrived but their true colors came out at the end. read more

We were in a bind: we didn't want to spend more on lodging that on our actual trip while on vacation in OR and WA. I looked up inexpensive hotels and found Timberland Motor Inn. While the accommodations were somewhat questionable from the looks of their website: http://www.timberland-inn.com/, I still called and booked a room. It turned out to be a god-send of sorts. The decor is cheap and cheesy...actually it's god-awful tacky, but the owner at the front desk cut us a deal. For $20 extra, she bumped us up into a bigger room with a jacuzzi and you wouldn't believe the size of this thing. I'd almost bet it was bigger than my first apartment in Dallas! (Pictures of the room will follow later). Overall, the room itself is questionable, but appears very clean and much quieter than the hotel we stayed in the night before. It's also 5 miles from Mt. St. Helen's National Monument (where we're headed tomorrow). For location, price, and service, I give the joint a 3-star rating. P.S. They do have free Wi-Fi, but it doesn't always work. However, the owner hooked us up with an ethernet cable so that we could keep in touch with the outside world. read more

Like a reviewer below, we were in a bind as many of the hotels in the surrounding areas were booked due to an event. If they charged around $40 for a night, I would have no complaints. I've stayed in roadside hotels for less money that were in better condition. Cigarette burns in carpet and blanket, the room smelled like trucker farts and cigarettes. TV had an eerie red glow, wifi is brought in by a rotary phone. Save your money and keep driving...I feel completely ripped off. The trash cans and phone are neat, though. read more

This was the most unprofessional hotel I've ever been to the clerk was, rude, pushy threatened me with a 500 fine for smoking or damage I had already told him it was my wife our baby and I and we didn't smoke he repeated this 5 times told me there would be a 200.00 deposit from my credit card that wouldn't be returned for at least 3 business days, wile we were talking a lady came in for an extra sheet he argued saying her room had sheets finally agreed to give more sheets talking down to the women sad ill bring them to your room personally now get out! This place was unacceptable and the clerks behavior was unbelievable I told him I wouldn't stay here if you paid me good day. read more

Took my kids on a road trip (CA to WA) last fall and this was first night in Washington... we'd never been here and didn't NEED to stop in Castle Rock just somewhere around there give or take a half hour drive (trying to limit driving hours per day) and Castle Rock had a cool name and a hotel with decent prices so that was our decision process. We'd gotten hung up in Portland then some traffic, so we were on the road longer than expected and arrived exhausted and starving. Luckily there was fast food (burger king) directly next door. In the morning I was thrilled that there's a little coffee shop (like a drive up / walk up - not a restaurant) on site. The man that checked us in and out (not sure if he was manager or owner?) was very friendly and helpful. I was surprised he was familiar with my hometown. nearby towns - I didn't expect someone in Washington to ask me about Martinez CA, I thought that was cool, small world! The rooms were clean and what you'd expect, parking was convenient, across the way there is a cool bigfoot themed store, it was definitely a cool experience, and we will for sure be staying here again next time we go that way!! read more

After a long trip, I found I was too tired to continue my drive into Seattle. I needed to stop for the night and the Timberland Inn was the only motel that had availability. As you can see by the photos posted, the room décor, furniture, television and phone are very dated. That being said, my room was spotless. I don't know how they have managed to keep everything in such pristine condition for 20+ years. The innkeeper was so friendly and hospitable. I am happy to support this hard-working family and their business. I plan to make a trip to Mount St. Helens and will definitely stay at the Timberland Motor Inn on my next visit. read more

Now here is a motel to avoid! Started with a request for additional $10 payment for a king-sized bed instead of queen. Room was very basic, smelled badly of stale mildew, smallest thinest towels possible, old TV that was very marginal, loud air con. Topped off by the morning "breakfast" that was hard to believe with small plastic bowls for cereal and coffee of sorts - an insult to even call "continental" or a meal. read more

Pros: Clean Cons: Way overpriced at $150/night. Staff super offensive with the "Don't smoke in the room. Not even outside with the door open or I charge you $200!" Um, we dont smoke but thank you for reprimanding me. THEN...enter surprise middle of the night nosebleed in bed. Mortified that I accidentally bled on the sheet, I wrote a note with sincere apologies. Checked out, staff chases our car down waving fists. Husband goes back in and is informed of an additional $25 charge for soiled sheet (again with a nasty toned reprimand). While an accident, I feel the $150 for 10 hours of rest would include leeway for a soiled sheet. It wasn't the charge as much as the staff attitude that was offensive. If you stay, make certain you don't bleed. read more

Bad service, also they reuse everything and I know this because my mom worked there and with the shampoo bottles(and conditioner) if there is like just a tad bit in there they will refill it with other bottles from other rooms that have been used and with the wash rags or face cloths and towels they don't even wash them if they looked like they haven't been used then they will just keep them there and won't wash them or change them out and also with the trash bags they just dump what's inside and keep the trash bags and don't change them so I would not recommend this place. read more

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!! We stayed there this weekend - rented their jacuzzi suite so that we could soak after a long day of hiking. When I went to bed, I dropped my pants on the floor, and woke up the next morning with them completely covered in ants! They were all over the corner of the room. We then discovered that sometime when housekeeping was in the room, our camera mysteriously disappeared! After my little experience here, I would highly recommend that people do not stay here, or if you do, watch for the ants in the carpet, and certainly don't leave anything of value in the room! read more

Filthy/Rude/Doomed...at check in instructed to swipe keycard slowly. Door opened, Room was Uncleaned. It happens. Returned to office for new room, same lecture on Swipe Slowly. Door would not open. Returned to office and said I wasnt staying please refund. Snake at desk telling me no no no heres new keys, refusing to refund. Then returned my cash and said no refund of deposit until after thorough inspection next morning as she couldnt leave desk. She called me a drama queen on exit. I parked in front of rooms. She appeared at car window saying get out of lot. I said after "inspection"and refund. She looked into the filthy room and room that wouldnt unlock. Told me get out, deposit reversed. Her paranoia and lack of guests makes me think hotel buys defective keycard systems from black market meth thieves. Her customer service guarantees death of rundown hotel. She was 12/5 7pm shift. This was a dump. The room had dirty carpet and hairs in sheets. They promised a microwave, there was none there, and then they argued about it with me. The breakfast was disgusting and made me sick. The coffee tasted like sewer water and there was stale cereal. I became ill and we had to eat elsewhere. Please, save yourself aggravation and stay somewhere else. read more
