Fantastic I food and a great selection. The front door is deceiving and looks like the gateway to a dive! You shortcut through the bar to a dining room and fabric curtains bisected the dining room. The food was terrific! My only disappointment was that I could not get salmon (vs chicken) on the Mediterranean Salad without paying full price for both meals. That wasn't the customization they promised in the menu. So, I ordered the full Dijon salmon meal and loved it! Mom had the pulled pork and hubby had the pork chops! In the area visiting friends for the weekend, we stopped by timeless tavern for dinner on a busy Saturday . I was here years ago when it went by a different name, but can't recall my experience. However, this time I certainly recall. We had a round of appetizers, there was a lobster dip that was excellent, creamy, tasty, not overly salty. The sauce with the escargot was very good. I had the pork osso buco, my wife the duck. The osso buco was a larger than expecting serving, super tender and tasty; the duck was perfect, crunchy skin, tender non-fatty meat, and a fantastic glaze. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had heard that the food here was good, so friends and I checked it out 2/18/2015. I arrived early and sat at the bar and had a beer, decent selection of bottles, a few drafts. Lottery games were available for play. Locals were there for after work libations and conversation. Booths were available for dinner and or drinks. We went into the diningroom for our dinner. Gas fireplace and clean woodsy decor. The menu has a great variety, appetizers, lighter entrees, sandwiches, etc. I had one of the specials, fried shrimp and cole slaw. The shrimp were butterflied, had breaded and deep fried, the cole slaw has house made. Yummy on both counts. My friends had the fish sandwich with a side salad, and the Adirondacker - a roast beef panini, with fries. Everything was clearly fresh made and delicious. The service was prompt and friendly. Desserts were a variety. i had the lemon and blueberry tart. There was also a toll house pie, and a peanut butter pie. Total with drinks and dessert plus tip for 3 people came to $85. Wow! I have been coming up to the ADK area most of my life and this is now a new favorite! I live in Texas, so I know good steak, the Delmonico steak was cooked perfectly and one of the most flavorful steaks I have ever eaten, anywhere. The service was excellent, and very accommodating with our 11month old son. My entire family also loved their meals (garlic sirloin, grilled salmon and chicken piccata). We decided to eat here at the last minute on Labor Day Weekend. Even though the hostess told us they night not be able to accommodate our party of 5 they were quick to put a table together for us in the dining room. We were then greeted by our server, Ashtyn, who gave took our drink order and gave us a run down of the specials. We ordered a bottle of Folonari Pinot Grigio and a Guinness on tap. The prices for the beverages are extremely wallet friendly, the apps we ordered we shrimp cocktail, xxl with a sharp cocktail sauce and French onion soup a tad on the "meh" side. Entrees were a queen prime rib served rare to be shared, the bar special strip steak and 2 prime burgers. All of the entrees were spectacular. We were extremely happy with our food and the service. I will definitely visit again and recommend Timeless Tavern to all of our out of town guests. read more

We were disappointed when we had dinner with friends at the Timeless Tavern on Saturday night, June 2. The temperature was quite warm to hot in the restaurant. When we asked our waitress about this, she stated that the air conditioning was on, and there was nothing they could do about the temperature. We found this to be a puzzling statement, but continued on with dinner. One of our party ordered the strip steak, which was surprisingly grizzly at one end. It was better in the middle, but was cooked more rare than the medium ordered. The other meals were ok. This restaurant still offers soup and salad with their entrees, which is rare these days. The soup is always good and loaded with content. The temperature in the restaurant continued to get hotter the longer we were there. As we were leaving, we asked another server about the temperature being so hot in the restaurant. (It was much cooler outside, by the way.) That server repeated the exact same phrase that our waitress had told us.."air conditioning is on..etc." Obviously something was very wrong with the air conditioning that evening. It appears that management had told the servers exactly what to say. Management should have just been honest and said there was a problem, and apologized for the situation.Their attitude was flippant. Have to say that the restaurant and bar had pretty much cleared out by 8:15 pm on a Saturday night! One of our friends wrote an email to the owner afterwards about this situation. The owner never responded. This behavior does not indicate good customer relations or even common courtesy. We will be taking our business elsewhere for the foreseeable future. There are lots of other restaurants in the area. We had been to Timeless many times prior, but that will not be the case this summer. We are telling all are friends and neighbors about this lack of good customer service. There was one other time a few years ago when the owner told us he needed our table, when we were lingering talking with friends after our meal was finished. We had been planning to order dessert and coffee, when our waitress came back, but we left instead. It appears the owner needs some schooling in how to treat customers. read more

If you haven't been here you NEED TO GO! This is your go-to tavern that has GREAT food, friendly staff and that hometown bar feeling you can't find anymore. They have a lovely dining room in addition to the bar and seating area if you want a more formal dining experience which is very nice. The owners Tom and Lisa are wonderful people and Lisa KNOWS HOW TO COOK! She gets it right EVERY time! The wings are delicious as are the soups...but everything on the menu is very good. Big pile of French fries, Two patty like size of "Ruben like" sandwich. First I request Horseradish, as I don't taste any on the "Ruben". Second, I don't find any corn beef ! Its ROAST BEEF! Third, there is NO SOURKROUT! The waitress says Oh that's ""our interpolation of a Ruben" ! Fourth, I Find Bacon mixed in the cheese. I inform the waitress that I have pork allergies and I'm ticked off that you have poisoned me. Answer "Oh don't worry I'll take that off of the bill". WARNING These people have NO IDEA WHAT-SO-EVER, of what they are doing to people. They practice deceit and know they are doing it. The "waitress" KNEW IT WAS NOT A REUBEN WHEN SHE SERVED IT. I was their idea of a "Reuben" It was made from whatever they had left over.. I will not be returning to this place, my first trip is my last trip. This is the worst place that I have dined at in years. I ordered mushroom talapia with white wine. The waitress was named Ashley. I asked what the vegetable was - she said whatever they put on the plate. I said carrots would be good. I asked if I could substitute the starch for a veg. She said that I could order a starch or go without, but I'd still be charged for it. So I said mashed potato. Soup & salad came with it. After several minutes, Ashley came by & said the kitchen was backed up. About 10 minutes after that, the soup came out, a greasy chowder - no thanks. A long time later, the salad came, just lettuce with 1 cut grape tomato. Finally the food came. The fish was black on top with crumbs, no mushrooms. I took a bite & it tasted like mold. When Ashley came back, I told her it tasted like mold & she took it away. The potato tasted old, flavorless. The veg. turned out to be green beans which I don't care for, with 1 piece of carrot. The bread was a loaf in a basket with butter tabs, but no knife to cut the bread. Their were 3 other people with me. Two were okay with their food. The chicken alfredo was watery, but edible. It was 7:10 pm when we went in, seat wait was 20 min. We were seated at a bar table about 7:40pm. It was after 9:30pm when we left. Ashley brought the check, & said the charge card machine was broken, atm was down the street. All 4 full priced dinners were on the check. I told her that I shouldn't be charged for returned food. She replied, "I have no power over that." I said, "Well then, send out the power." She walked away. My companion paid, rather than have conflict. I would not have done that. I was a waitress & bartender for several years. I never charged people for returned food, & I made sure my customers were pleased with my service, as well as the food & beverage. I brought the owner back to the table to make sure all was okay & the people left satisfied. Needless to say, I will Never Go Back there, & I will tell everyone how bad the service & staff are.
