Decent food.. varied menu..nice ambiance.. good vibe ~drawbacks... lighting is so dark you have trouble seeing what you are eating. Asked that they turn the lights up a bit and was ignored. I have a tough time being "nickeled and dimed" to death also.. $5 for a side salad .. $2 extra for soup.."this is an up charge .... and no substitutes .. what if I'm on a special diet or allergic ‍ All in all a good place.. not inexpensive.. just be aware. read more

Had a friend recommend this place. I decided to try this on our anniversary. From start to finish this place didn't disappoint. Notified them of certain food allergies and they were very attentive and polite to accommodate. Service was fast and very friendly. Food came out one after another, apps, soups, salads then main course. Sorry it took this long to find this place but will definitely be going back. This is my new favorite place. If my wife is to be believed, I'm a bit of a food snob. Incredibly good-looking and flawless otherwise (that's her talking, not me), but she thinks I can be a little judgmental when it comes to food. And I suppose she's right about that (and how I'm essentially perfect otherwise). Let me be clear though: I don't need fancy fare, although I've eaten a lot of it. We just all have to eat every day, and I'd rather have tasty things to eat than the alternative. And if I'm being honest, my expectations were not super high for Timeless Tavern, not because of anything they've done, but because in my experience, restaurants can be hit or miss in Hamilton County. Timeless Tavern is a hit. This joint is everything I wanted. We spent the day tearing up floors, and we were tired and hungry and just looking for a good, hearty meal. That's what you can get here. A really good portion of delicious food, at a good price, from good people. Our server Becky was outstanding. She was welcoming and warm, and she led us to the right things on the menu: steaks. It seems like what they do best here, and we went for the garlic sirloin, the Delmonico, and for me, the chocolate, balsamic, and bleu cheese covered NY strip. Yeah, it sounds a little weird, but I felt like you don't put something like that on the menu unless you know it's good, and it was. The steaks were cooked properly, seasoned properly, and honestly a pretty massive portion as well. The menu said 16 oz, I wouldn't be surprised if it was more. I can't remember the last time I didn't finish a meal, but I took a little bit of it home for a snack later on. That's probably because they also come with soup and salad, which leads me to another reason Timeless Tavern is my new favorite place: The Chicken Riggy. It's a tomato-based, creamy, hearty chicken soup with rigatoni in there, and I was legitimately blown away by how tasty it was. As soon as I had a bite, I knew we'd be coming back here whenever we're in town. It was rich, and flavorful, and unexpected. Also, I absolutely love that almost all the salad dressings are homemade. Parmesan peppercorn? I'll always get that. I've written a lot here, but the moral of the story is that I love this place. The food is great, the people are great, and it seems like a fun and lively spot to just come for a drink if you aren't hungry. Best of all, the prices are super reasonable. Looking forward to when we're back in town, and I'm bringing the whole family. read more

We unsuspectedly wandered into one of the best dinners we've had in 20 years. Why you ask. All of it - from the minute we walked in we were greeted and seated in a polite, professional and uplifting manner. The host was an older man and cracked a funny joke that made us all laugh. The waiter, also a man, made suggestions, checked in and overall did a perfect job. The food was EXCELLENT. I think the owner popped over to check on us too. It was simply a great night. Been coming here for 4 years or more and on point every time. Amazing service and food. Well tonight was such a disappointment...started with their special crab cakes. They came out like hockey pucks. Returned them which I never do. I suck it up and eat them. These were inedible. Second batch came out. A little better but ate the interior and left the less slightly burnt crust. Next was salad. Always fresh and amazing but what we received was wilted lettuce. Blue cheese was best part of the plate. I do have to say my chocolate balsamic blue cheese strip steak was very good paired with 2 little bland fingerling potatoes and crunchy green beans. Bread was over toasted but butter was good. Their prime rib is not the same!! All I will say. No pics sorry as I wasn't going to write a review but feel I had to. read more

To be honest, the food is almost always good, especially steaks. . The ownership is on the rude side. If you call to make reservations anytime in the Summer, they kinda make fun of you for not knowing that they are always busy and have a " I can't believe you even called us" attitude. read more

The seafood bisque was delicious. However I was not a big fan of the chocolate balsamic strip steak. The steak is great and the added flavors were too much. The Timeless Tavern is a short trip from Sacandaga lake in a small town called Northville. Unless you are a local or vacationer it is highly unlikely you would know the spot or be anywhere near this restaurant. There is very poor cell service so it is possible you won't read this review without Wifi! Despite what I mentioned above this restaurant is decent and must be a huge hit with the locals. They had some decent beer on tap and an impressive list of dishes. Duck, pasta, and a monster cut of prime rib. A real meal can be had. I dined with a large party and people were generally impressed. I ordered an Adirondacker which was a roast beef panini with bacon and horseradish sauce. Nice bread. The beef was slightly dry so I asked for a side of au jus which helped. I ordered a side salad with parm peppercorn dressing which was kind of odd. This would be a cool place to order some apps and have a beer. I ordered the stuffed jalapenos which were tasty (more than 4 seemed appropriate for the price). I have also had the wings which are excellent and they offer a very unique flavor, honey jalapeno. Definitely check these out. A nice place in an area of NY that is definitely timeless. When I visit friends on the lake this is a spot that will continue to get our business. read more

Great food and service! On a Wednesday night in the middle of February, the place was jumping! Wife had the ravioli and I had a burger.

Disappointed in the treatment we received while attempting to have a nice dinner. The drink I asked for was sent back 2 times as was made incorrectly . The managements decision to not comp my incorrect drink the first time I asked them to, made me suspicious of their practices in the kitchen and wary of eating the food. I waited a year to check this place out so we made a birthday reservation and I was so excited! Normally I order a prime rib when I go out but everyone told me get there steak best ever so I ordered a steak and it was gorgeous this huge hunk of meat but it was so over cooked I was not impressed esp when I said medium on my steak and the vegetables where barley cooked green beans shouldn't be crunchy. I feel we were rushed by our waitress with the food and she kept asking if we were done and needed boxes like can we just eat please maybe she was new? We did order these fried mozzarella balls with there raspberry sauce they were delicious but when she went to bag them up she tossed the raspberry sauce and I kept asking for more to go and she had attitude and also said the cook won't allow anymore they need it so that was another disappointment I mean who does that it was maybe a tbsp? Anyways once we got home that night and for a few days after we both were very sick with stomach issues and come to find out they closed the restaurant from being sick. We had been wanting to visit after other family and friends had raved about this place. It did not disappoint. Such a quaint rustic tavern. Very comfy and inviting. The host was a perfect gentleman that brought us to our seat. We were quickly introduced to our very attentive, sweet waitress. We started with grilled clams as our app that were so buttery and garlicky!!! Next we were each brought a cup of seafood chowder. So chunky, tons of seafood, slightly peppery but so creamy and homemade exuded from this soup. Next was a fresh side salad. Then onto our main entrees. I had the chocolate balsamic strip and my husband the Delmonico. There was enough beef between the two meals to literally feed a table of ten!!! Cooked to perfection!!!! The sides of potatoe, fries, green beans and carrots were a perfect pairing!!! We will be eating leftovers for a few days, but cannot wait to go back!!! Highly recommend the trip to Northville for this amazing experience! A shared dessert and a much needed walk in the lakefront park out back was a wonderful ending to our 33 year Anniversary dinner outing!!! read more

Located right on Main street, totally unassuming place! Man and i thought it was just a little tavern! But inside it was a eclectically well decorated restaurant! I loved the cozy clean and up to date ambience! Food was perfect, farm fresh green beans and carrot slices done to perfection ! I ate them all, home made mashed potatoes and salad dressings were the best I've had in a long time!! They also offer homemade desserts!! My Jack Daniel's glazed pork chops were scrumptious!!!! Hubby had sliced garlic sirloin served on homemade garlic bread! He ate it all!! He also enjoyed his seafood chowder! Which had lots of seafood in one cup of soup!!
