We got inside and tried to use the restroom to wash our hands before ordering drinks and the older gentleman who is the bouncer comes into the bar and calls both of us out in front of the large crowd in the bar. The bouncer was yelling at us, telling us to get drinks first or get out if we just wanted to use the restroom. It felt very awkward getting yelled out from across the bar when we just wanted to wash our hands. He stood there eyeing us making sure we got Dinks after we washed our hands.

Since it was the World Cup and many guests would be camping out for the entire match, table service has a per person minimum spend of $25. This is a really a non-issue because a cocktail is around $15, so two drinks, or one drink with some food, will easily hit this minimum. My wife and I shared crispy pork schnitzel ($17) and an order of their deviled eggs ($12). The deviled eggs were nicely seasoned and included a small salad shrimp on top for some variety. The pork schnitzel was perfectly fried and the potatoes in the included side-salad was well-cooked and not over dressed. I would recommend enjoying the schnitzel with some mustard. Both drinks that I ordered -- an Old Fashioned and a Boulvardier, were well prepared. No notes here. Service here was top notch. Throughout our stay, our server checked up on us multiple times and we never had to wait long to place another order for drinks. Tipping options on the receipt include pre-calculated 18%, 20%, and 22% options (on top of the 5% SF Mandate). Last but not least, the restaurant had clean bathrooms and a bunch of large TV screens on every wall. If you're looking to watch a sports match, Sam's Tavern is the place to go!

Got completely ridiculed in here several weeks ago by one of the 'regulars', and that regular had a team of regulars backing her up. This was totally uncalled for. He treated me disrespectfully and asked me something absolutely absurd. After he continued harassing me, I reacted by giving him a small slap across the face. Instead of taking what had happened seriously or making sure I was okay, Jason and Jesse decided to kick ME out of the bar and ban me, while the man who sexually harassed me was allowed to stay. What made the situation even more disturbing was the way they treated me afterward. They laughed in my face while telling me I needed to leave, and as I was walking out with my girlfriends who witnessed what happened they were laughing and calling me crazy to the group of friends that harassed me I understand that a bar may have policies regarding physical altercations, but the complete lack of concern for the harassment that led up to the situation was appalling. I was the woman who had been sexually harassed, yet I was the one removed and banned while the man who made sexually explicit comments toward me got to remain inside and was seemingly treated like a friend. Based on my experience at night, I absolutely would not consider this a safe or supportive environment for women. Being sexually harassed is already upsetting enough. Being laughed at and punished afterward while the person who harassed you is allowed to stay made the entire experience significantly worse.

After I got a pair of cocktails for my wife and I we relaxed close to a small bench where we saw several other people sitting. Out of nowhere a middle aged White guy started screaming at a group of Latino customers next to us because he said the bench blocks the view of one of the screens. Keep in mind, there was no signage not to sit there and it looked like it was designed for seating. Because they were moving, my wife and I started to move, as well. Suddenly, he turned his focus to us and screamed that we weren't moving fast enough. I let him know calmly that we were moving, but asked if he could lower his voice because he was making a scene. He continued screaming at us. At this point, the whole bar was looking in our direction. I let him know again that we are moving but the his behavior was unprofessional. A few other patrons saw what happened. They told us, as they left that they were so upset with his conduct that they left. Another staff member apologized for his behavior, as well... but the damage had been done. We had been embarrassed and disrespected in front of the whole bar (in front of my wife no less). Later, I saw a few other patrons that had been in the bar earlier. They said he did the same thing to them. It is worth noting that everyone he did this to was either Black or Latino. I'm not sure if this was his motivation, but among the crowd, he effectively disrespected and embarrassed the majority of Black and Brown customers.
