One of the best pizzas in Little Italy. Takeout only establishment but great prices and the best clam and garlic pizza I've ever had. Lines form pretty quickly during meal times. If you're ordering whole pies, recommend calling order in for quicker pick up.

I tried the original North Beach Golden Boy Pizza a while back but didn't get to taste the pizza fresh on the spot because my parking meter expired, so the squares had to endure a car ride home. Golden Boy Pizza opened a location in my neighborhood sometime after the initial experience, and I always planned to go check it out, but it's located west of me, and I don't often venture out that far. However, I was feeling pretty hungry after 4 consecutive days of functional strength training workouts following a brief hiatus from working out after I got my first tattoo, so I decided to give it a go. I took the L line to Taraval and 26th Ave after my workout and when I arrived, there were a few people waiting to pick up their orders and a very short waiting line to place new orders. I was served within a few minutes and unironically ordered the same exact two flavors - pesto veggie and combo - as I did at the North Beach location, which I realized only after comparing the photos in my library. I'm truly a creature of habit and consistency. Once again, I got the paper receipt to sign and add tip. I find it really annoying that the tech is not up-to-date, but it is what it is. At least the prices are unbeatable. After paying, it was only a short wait until my order was called. I scurried home to eat while still hot. Upon removing the squares from the paper bag, I noticed that despite my efforts to rush back, the wrapping paper stuck to the cheese. I tried my best to extricate the paper, but some of the toppings got removed or displaced in the process. Once again, the squares were soggy but at least still warm. I decided picking up the squares with my hands wasn't going to fly because of how gooey they were so went to grab a fork. By this point, I realized that focaccia pizza just isn't my thing. While I love pizza and like focaccia, the combination just doesn't hit like traditional pizza, regardless the style.

We had order delivery take out before and found they had really good pizza, so today I got to try it at the storefront! I had the combo and the clam & garlic pizza. The combo came with pepperoni, sausage, onion, mushroom, zucchini, and tomato. The clam & garlic pizza came with baby clams, chopped garlic and pasley. Both tasted really good, highly recommended if you are in the area!

Date: Sunday, February 22nd, 2026 Meal: Dinner Delivery Ordered Thru: DoorDash DoubleDash DashPass Time Place: around 5:45pm Arrived: about 45 mins later Delivered to: Outer Richmond *Clam & Garlic ($16.25) - Small (13x9) *Service Fee ($2.44) *Estimated Tax ($1.40) I really wanted some clam pizza. I was ordering something around this area and decided to DoubleDash from GB. They are not included on DashPass, so I saved on the fees since I added this to a current order. I've had the clam pizza from the NB location many many times, so I have fond memories of it. For some reason, this one didn't live up to that. The crust was kinda doughy and under. And there wasn't much clam flavor. I didn't get much of those chewy little pieces of chopped up clam. Idk if it was just an off day, but I'll probably try ordering from them again since I adore their clam pizza. I'll just make sure to DoubleDash to avoid those extra fees. REVIEW #3992

Golden Boy Pizza, how I have miss you so so much!! While enjoying a slice of my favorite pizza ( clams & garlic) it sure brings back memories of my very first visit to SF. I had to squeeze in a slice of pizza before I left SF and asked the other half to take me to Golden Boy, I was expecting to go to their original location in Little Italy but the hubby mentioned, there is a GBP location close by to where we were at, which was works out better. I really like this location of Golden Boy Pizza with the parking situation too, we scored a spot right across and crossed over. They were busy but it got more busy after I put in my order. Staff were super friendly as usual and ordering was so quick and simple. Wow, the pizza prices are still such a great deal! I got 2 slice of clam & garlic for us and a combo slice to share. The pizza at Golden Boy are SanFranSicilian Style pizza and they have been serving SF since 1978. Pizza by the slice are available in cheese, pepperoni, sausage, combo, pesto veggie, clam/garlic and starts from $3.75-4.75. Why do I love Golden Boy Pizza so much, I just love the flavor, the cheese, the dough, the crispiness and where can I get clam & garlic, only at GBP of course. The combo is my 2nd favorite, I love the sausage and everything on that pizza, so good! Darn it has been years since I last had Golden Boy Pizza and so HAPPY, it just really hits, me doing the happy dance eating pizza!! The best pizza spot in SF!!

San Francisco is in the midst of a heat wave, where it seemingly makes everything taste - better? I pose it as a question because I scarfed down 2 slices of pizza on a hot, sweaty, and sticky day. I can attest that even with the heat; I did not regret eating pizza. One can say that Golden Boy is a San Francisco institution just as much as the House of Prime Rib. Everyone will tell you to order Golden Boy's garlic clam pizza, and one absolutely must, but, their other slices deserve equal attention as well. I had returned home from work on a humid day, and to my surprise - my family had ordered pizza from Golden Boys. My eyes lit up the moment I saw the rectangular box. I had never eaten pizza from Golden Boys, until now. What did I have? The photos don't really justify just how insanely good the slices are. - Garlic Clam: clams and garlic are highlights, but, I would have liked more clams and maybe more sauce? A delicious bite nonetheless. - Pepperoni: this simply cannot be messed up; red sauce and crisp pepperoni slices. This is, yes, though simple, probably one of the best pepperoni slices I have had in a long time. - Veggie: white sauce, tomato, cucumber, olives, and mozzarella; this was my favorite slice in the boxed trio. It was fresh, light, savory, and so well composed. I was surprised! The star: if I were to not eat pizza, then I would eat just the focaccia style pizza crust. The crust remained light, airy, crisp, and not soggy at all. I can't really elaborate on how the service and ambiance was as this was a delivery made order. What I can say, is that the boxed pizza we received was packed well, made fresh, and arrived warm to our door step to enjoy in the comfort of our own home. This does demonstrate that the attention and care that Golden Boys put out in their food equates to being a well loved establishment here in San Francisco. Can't wait to try their other slices!

We always order the combo pizza from Golden Boy, and not once has it ever disappointed us. Every single time, it comes out perfectly cheesy--even without asking for extra--which already says so much about the quality. The flavors are incredibly rich and well-balanced, with each topping complementing the others so well that every bite feels satisfying. What really sets it apart for me is the dough. It's just right--crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, with that perfect chew that you don't often find elsewhere. It holds everything together without being too heavy or too thin. You can really tell it's made with care. Honestly, it's one of those pizzas you keep coming back to because it consistently delivers. I love it every time!

It was a Friday night, we'd just made a cookie run (Christine's, I'm obsessed) clear across the city, and had no dinner plan. So... it was finally time to try this Golden Boy Pizza near our house. I placed a pickup order through DoorDash (gift card perks), and it was ready quickly and smoothly. No complaints there. I ordered a "small" which is eight slices, and my partner was immediately annoyed at my choice. Turns out, two slices were more than enough for a full meal for me. Their Sicilian-style squares are thick and filling. The last time I had Golden Boy was about four years ago at the North Beach location, and I remember loving it more then. Maybe it was the late-night energy, or maybe I just ordered better that time? I've heard people rave about the clam, so I'm thinking I might not have chosen wisely on this round. Will I be back? Absolutely. But next time I'll skip the full pie and show up in person to order by the slice so I can try a few different flavors. That feels like the right move here.

Came here because I found good reviews on Yelp. So we went to little Italy to walk around. After walking, we went to Golden Boy Pizza. There was a line of people waiting to order but the line went quickly. We ordered a clam and garlic pizza and a pepperoni pizza. We walked to the park and sat down to eat it. It was so delicious that we finished our slices and we didn't even share. lol Loved the price and it was a cool area and vibe!

Note the new prices for 2026. My pizza was ready in about 20 minutes, well sort of, on a Monday at 7:45pm. My order was phoned in, a large 1/2 pesto veggie 1/2 combo $30.50. When I got there in 10 minutes, it wasn't ready yet, so I paid. Things got busy for the slice take-out counter and I guess they forgot about me. My pizza was ready but they didn't call out my name for 10 minutes. Luckily the other slice girl noticed me and checked. I'm not sure why I tipped the other guy as he was busy doing his closing duties and forgot about me. Pizza is still great, but I can confirm they use less butter in their recipe now as suspected in my previous review.

I've made another checkmark on my eat local list for year 2026. This is #4 to date. I called in my order at 4pm for a combo pan of eight slices. Said ready at 4:20pm for pickup. Whew. This beat the one time I called and was informed it'll be 45 minutes. It was ready for pickup at given time. Paid for and took the box home. Parmesan cheese and red chile pepper flakes provided. I always find the need to reheat my pizza slice In the microwave. Each slice is very cheesy and soft like focaccia. This is a to go place; however they've added one bar high table alongside the parking meter.

Stop by to grab some pizza half and half service was fast and prompt pizza was good fresh love the burnt edges and cheese taste on point. Wait time for lunch can back up a little service by the slice so you can try all the flavors, gold pepperoni and combo.

I ordered the - Buffalo Wings - How Mushroom The buffalo wings were delicious and although on the pricier side, was just good enough for me to overlook it. It comes with green onions as a garnish with a Bleu cheese dip and carrot sticks. The only negative thing about this was that there wasn't enough carrot sticks. The How mushroom was recommended to me by a staff member and I thought was just a little plain; it was on the more bread side which I'm pretty sure is the standard for Detroit style pizza. In all honesty, I wish there was a bit more toppings to accommodate the amount of bread to topping ratio as this felt more of a cheesy bread sticks from Pizza My Heart. My favorite thing about this place is there were chilled glasses with taps for still water and sparkling water, which was free. In honesty, the sparkling water is an essential need to kill the grease in our meal. Overall, the staff were pretty friendly and helpful during the ordering process, the pizza itself wasn't for me. Would I come again? Only if I'm craving pizza and happen to be in the area.

It was my favorite for 50 years until a couple weeks ago when I ordered a delivery of Gioia. Wow. I stayed over in The City again this past weekend and had Gioia delivered again Saturday. I designed my own pizza with a Margherita Pizza base and then added pepperoni, Calabrian chilis, and anchovy on the side...well done/crispy. The roasted tomatoes are key...depth of flavor, umami-heaven. I'm a pain in the ass, so I call to make sure my pizza is made to spec. The staff, led by Kait, is unparalleled in their willingness to help. I just cannot recommend Gioia enough. I wish there were one in the 925, but Berkeley is as close to my home as a Gioia is based so far. I've not had a pie from Berkeley, but I believe Gioia is completely committed to maintaining the quality of their pizza. Nothing else comes close IMO.
