I was going to write a bad review because I got cut off at the bar after having a few to many but I cant, they were just doing their job and I have no bad feelings because of it. They are a fine bunch of folks working there and probably did me a huge favor and acted responsibly. We were looking for a place to stop in with our kids (13 and 15) for dinner while visiting the area. Yelp says okay for kids, but this place really is more of a bar. Waitress was rushing around although we were the only non-bar patrons. She wasn't very welcoming. My husband was going to order nachos but the description didn't list jalapeno peppers. When my husband asked about it she seemed lime it was very unusual to have jalapenos on nachos.. But she said they could add them for "extra." Really? Nachos? No thanks- he got the fish instead. Our food came out quickly. I ordered the smothered chicken which was pretty good but the baked potato was not hot and the veggies were obviously frozen and not seasoned at all. Do yourself a favor and don't go here. The food isn't worth the price (standard bar menu but not very good quality). But it all comes with a side of really, really bad service experience. Unless you're a local regular, you'll be treated like the cousin no one likes or wants to see at the family reunion. Here's a rundown of what I encountered: Waitress got our drink orders wrong, several times. Not a big deal. I can live with that. We all make mistakes. We asked for a few minutes to go over the menu. Didn't know that would be the last we'd see of her for a while (she decided to take a load off her feet and sit down and talk to the only other patron in a booth). Well she eventually returned, we placed our order and she fixed our screwed up drinks. Time passed and she brought our food but without silverware. Sadly, we had to interrupt her conversation with the several men sitting up at the bar playing quarters. We finished and awaited the bill. I elected to stay behind and pay the bill while the rest of my party left. Again, I had to wait until she was done talking to get my bill. Honestly, the quickest response I got was when she came back with my credit card to sign the bill. I can forgive the food. It's a local tavern. I more or less expected what I got. But the service? That was just bad. I mean really bad. And calling everyone baby or sweetie when you're obviously ignoring me isn't going to fool me. Really wanted to like this place, too. Great service. Amazing food. I had the fried pickles spears which came out fresh and piping hot. Great seasoning and crunch! Then I had the cheese steak with French fries which was delicious and had plenty of cheese and flavor! But the best part of the entire meal was the dessert! Pumpkin sweet potato tart with brown sugar cinnamon ice cream! It's magical! And my waitress Laura was very attentive, they were a little busy and she was all over the place making sure everyone was taken care of. Timothy's is very unpretentious and has a great down to earth feel. Another reviewer likened it to Cheers, and that's pretty accurate. Had a good lunch here today. I tried the prime rib sandwich on toast points and my husband had a burger. My "sandwich" was a thick slice of prime rib, cooked perfectly, but only warm. It arrived with an au jus that hinted of Rosemary & was perfect for dipping, served hot, which warmed up the beef. Delicious! My husband's burger was juicy and cooked as requested. He said it was very good. The true gem of the place is Laura, the lone server at lunch. She was friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. A+ We will definitely be back! read more

The service at Timothy's Pub was wonderful. Our waitress was very kind, albeit forgetful, and very patient. The food on the other hand, either undercooked or still frozen. My sister was given the wrong thing twice, my brother in law had watered down tasteless fish, my boyfriend's appetizer was half-finished and my burger was burnt on the outside, and cold on the inside. Traveled to the area on business, the waiter was slightly rude and almost made us seem like we were a bother. The atmosphere was dark and drab. There was very little parking. The only reason I'm giving them a 2 star rating is due to the Long Island Iced Tea being strong. read more

Another Northern Michigan small town joint. Overwhelmed by a group on a Sunday afternoon even though we called ahead and they said it would be no problem. Have stopped here twice on trips and have not been disappointed. Has a nice atmosphere to it. Heavy wooded walls and posts which I like. The wait staff is very friendly and they will cook your burgers to order (med rare for me). Family friendly. We had kids ranging from 9-16. The food was ok. The fish and chips were very filling but the fish had way too much breading. I ordered three fillets as it was only $1 more for the third one. I would probably not go there again but you might have a better experience. Be aware it is basically a bar. The bathroom was in desperate need of cleaning and updating. Great lunch! Tiny little place and the parking isn't great BUT the food is fresh and worth the visit. I had the open face prime rib sandwich and it was excellent. Not from Gaylord. Stopped at Timothy's Pub after being turned away from Mancino's 10 min before their closing time (wasn't happy). Glad it happened. Timothy's food was very good and the service couldn't have been better. Friendly, warm, excellent/funny server. Will return next time in area. This is a great place for lunch. My wife and I are on Otsego Lake for the summer every year and eat in town often. Timothy's Pub is one our two favorite places in town to stop for lunch. Laura, the weekday waitress is reason enough to stop in, but the food is really good as well. You just can't beat good people and good food! read more

Don't get me wrong, this is a hole in the wall. But everytime I go in, I get fast service. Generally, I get the worst service 'up north ', slow, people don't know what they're doing, definitely the B Crew employees. But at Timothy's, they're fast, friendly. Bartenders are talkative and nice. Good drinks. Now the food is bar food, the drink choices are limited but for a beer, shot, easy cocktail and some bar food and quick nice service, this is the place. read more

My wife and I stopped here for some appetizers and drinks firings Red Wings game. The place had a really nice atmosphere. It was a little hard to see the game, but everything else was good. Not a bad place, kinda noisy on the weekends. 90% of the crowd is 30 plus, but the younger people seem to run the jukebox and rap gets old fast. My biggest issue is that my son has gotten food poisoning twice from there. Probably never going back. read more

So much bang for so little buck. This is as solid a choice you can get as far as good food goes in Gaylord. My husband and I are here for a while on our honeymoon and trying lots of different restaurants and this is by far the best restaurant and bar we've stopped at. The prices are so good, you'd almost expect lower quality food for what you pay, but you get some really top-notch stuff. The service is great too! Our food came out in no time and our waitress was genuinely friendly and enhanced the whole experience. My husband had a sausage burger with sauerkraut and I had a bacon, spinach, bleu cheese, and sundried tomato wrap and both were to die for. We also shared some delicious mozzarella sticks which she didn't hesitate to give us two dipping sauces for when we couldn't decide between them. Not only that but the pints of on tap beer were an amazing price of $3.00 per pint. We both had the Horny Monk and when the bill came we were surprised at how great a deal it was for such a big amazing meal. We'll be back for sure. read more
