I've been going to Tim's for years and I've always always been pleased with the skilled craftsmanship of their work.

Not exactly what I was expecting and I'm definitely disappointed with the results. I have a really important event tomorrow. I had a ton to do and didn't have the time to do it myself so I called Tim's Shoe Repair and asked if they could do a same day "spit shine" on my boots. They told me they could and that it would cost $45. I dropped them off at 8am and picked them up at 3pm. Granted they look nice for everyday but this is not a "spit shine" at all! Under any definition, and certainly not worth $45. I think the gentlemen could see the disappointment in my face and he gave me some wax, I guess assuming I'd have to finish the job myself. I still can't believe my boots sat there for 7 hours and I paid $45 for this. I learned a lesson today, just do it yourself, which is exactly what I will be doing for a good part of the night. I bring my black Red Wing work shoes in once a month for a tune up (polish and shine) and it is always a fair price. I have also had my shoes restitched and have had minor repairs done as well. In today's consumer-driven, throw-away society, gotta-keep-up-with-the-joneses, it's all too easy to throw away those favorite, well broken-in shoes and just go buy another pair. I love shoes, not as much as good food mind you, but a very close second. Great shoes and socks can really make a man, just as much as a savoir-faire sense of style and a great set of clothes. So I have a great pair of shoes I bought a few years ago that were made in Spain. Uniquely stylish and oh-so-comfortable. About $300 if I recall, but well worth it. My only dislike about these shoes was the fact that the heel was faux stacked leather (a rubber/plastic heel with a faux stacked leather applique wrapped around to give the appearance of a built, stacked leather heel. The shoes looked great until the leather that was wrapped around the heel began to get worn, showing what was REALLY underneath. Agghhhh! No! So, I stopped wearing them but kept them in my shoe closet nonetheless. I would look at them longingly, knowing how comfortable those shoes were on my feet. Well, visiting one of my favorite wine stores in Temecula (Wine on a Dime!), I saw Tim's Shoe Repair next door. What the heck, I thought I'd give it a try so last weekend I brought the aforementioned pair of shoes in and asked them to replace the faux heel with a new, hand-crafted stacked leather heel. No problem they said, give us three days. I just picked them up. OMG! They look AMAZING! Incredible craftsmanship! Great price! Excellent service! I can once again proudly wear my shoes from Spain. Apparently Tim's Shoe Repair repairs all kinds of shoes, mens and womens shoes and can do just about anything from a simple clean-up, buff and polish to a complete rebuild. So my fellow Americans, hang on to those favorite shoes of yours and stop by Tim's on a whim when you need him and you'll be as pleased as me. read more

Our dog chewed up a pair of hiking boots tongue and cycling shoes. After 7 trips back and forth from Tims, I finally just settled for their repairs. The posted pictures of the finished shoes tell the story. I've since colored the black leather strip they added red to more closely match. The repair method was discussed after at first they said they could not fix them. The final execution was less the expected for craftsmanship. read more

I took my Danners to get resoled. They charged me about 100 bucks to resole them. I also dropped off a few pair of boots to get shined and they were horrible. I should have just sent my boots back to Danner to get resoled!! Don't recommend this shop at all!! read more

Honestly, the service isn't great but it isn't bad either. I've come to this location on two other occasions to get my shoes repaired. The first time it was extremely smoky, when I walked in I thought I was walking into some kind of bar in Las Vegas. The second time they could get my shoes taken care of and were friendly. It was almost like it was the owner gentleman who was probably helping me. I love my shoes that I wear them probably every other day. I really needed my shoes taken care of as soon as possible, but understand that it takes time for good quality repair. When I pulled up this morning the sign showed that they were closed but clearly people were in there. The lady at the front had her breakfast on the counter...she asked the guys in the back how long it would take to get new heel taps only on my shoes and that I didn't need them today but what was the soonest. They replied not today at all...she explained again... They replied at least Wednesday of next week. It wasn't the length of time to get the repair done, it was the tone in their voices. It was as if I was lucky to have them working on my shoes. I told the lady that I would take my shoes elsewhere and thanked her for her time. I really don't know that I will be back to this shop because I just feel very lackluster about this establishment. read more

This is a small shop in a strip mall across from McDonalds. I brought in my wingtips (yes, I'm old school like that) for a tune up. New heals and a shine. The service was great. The guy behind the counter was full of suggestions on replacing the heals and ways to get more life out of the shoes (these are vintage 100% leather shoes). Instead of trying to take me for a full resole, he was quick to mention that I only really needed the smaller job. After mentioning a 5 day turn around, I told him that I might be interviewing for a job in them. He was quick to suggest that he could get them done the following day. They are THAT flexible. It looks like their big business is in cowboy boots. New heals with top shelf leather = $19 btw....I'm pretty happy to make them my 50th review. Woo hoo! read more

We came here looking for a zipper to fix our roof top tent. The owner was very helpful. He explained our plastic zipper was not easy to fix but it was something he could do if we were not able to fix it ourselves. He showed my husband how to fix it using a spare part he had but explained if we couldn't do it he would help us by taking the tent after hours since it is too large for the shop and not something he normally works on. Needless to say we were able to fix it thanks to his great explanation but if we need any shoes or purses in the future fixed we are coming back here. They are honest, good people, which is nice to find. read more

For the last few weeks I haven't been able to figure out why my most comfortable work heels have been uncomfortable, I finally realized that the sole was completely torn up! I figured I had to toss them, but my cousin suggested that I try Tim's Shoe Repair and see if they can be saved. I was happy to find a shoe repair in Temecula (as I just moved here) since I typically need a heel replacement on one of my shoes every month or so. The first time I attempted to bring the shoes in the store was closed for a wedding... no problem, its a family owned business!! I stopped in the next day and the gentleman behind the counter said that the shoes could easily be repaired with just a half-sole replacement ($13). Not the whole sole? Nope... he said I needn't waste my money on replacing something that was perfectly fine. I left the shoes with him and was told they would be ready 4 days later. I finally got around to picking the shoes up today and I was shocked that you can barely tell where the replaced sole is! The tip of the shoe looks a little malformed, but I think I might just be seeing things. Surprisingly, it also seems the shop had given the shoes a nice once over as they were very polished when I picked them up! Definitely will be my new shoe repair store! My shoes were expertly cared for and repaired. The only complaint I have is that when I tried to call the shop the day of my pickup to see when they would be ready and couldn't get an answer. When I drive down there they weren't done and I had to wait an additional 30 min in the shop. Despite this minor hiccup, my shoes were ready the day I was promised and they look incredible! This may be my first yelp review, I've never felt compelled enough to leave one, neither good or bad, but the quality of work here was impressive. I brought in a 3 year old pair of oxfords that were my daily drivers. I have literally walked thousands of miles in them. They were practically destroyed, holes in the soles through to the skin and even worn through in the toe area of the uppers. A sole replacement is pretty straight forward, though I didn't expect the uppers were repairable. Somehow, they fixed the uppers, as well as replacing the sole to my specific thickness specifications (I'm type A like that) and the shoes are just like new. On top of this they did a quick hole punch on a strap for a relative's pair of shoes, for free. Highly recommended. read more

I have been going here for the past four months to get a shoe shine and taps in but no longer will. Felt pretty uncomfortable with Cody today with all due respect. Try to charge me $150 to relace my old baseball glove. I showed him a place where they charge $60 (Charlie Rose in San Diego) and he told me to send it to "China" instead. It might of been because I am of Asian decent that he referred to China but I am Filipino. I hope that "Tim" sees this review. I brought a leather couch cushion in for repair since my young grandson had scraped it with a toy. A family member thought they could fix it, and ended up creating a more significant blemish. John and the staff were so wonderful. They fixed it perfectly and it looks beautiful! This was a difficult task since the cushion has a texture and two shades of brown. The guys in there today were super nice! I brought in my sandals that I had just bought the other day and within an hour they had a huge scuff on them. Yelp did not disappoint me! Everyone said great things so I thought I'd give them a try. It only took them about 5 mins and he got rid of the white scuff mark (which is all I cared about) and got it to a tone a little darker but doesn't bother me at all. I noticed my boots' heels respectively soles seemed to be coming off, so I looked Tim's Shoe Repair up and headed there around Christmas. It turned out that they actually were NOT separating, but I asked it to be fixed anyways, so they did a great job of actually separating and cementing them back on. I couldn't be happier. Was happy to take my expensive NAOT sandals to Tim's for a resole, When I picked them up from a large bald man, not Tim I was surprised to see the work, the back of the sandal had a pull up portion I asked them to remove, they over cut towards the sole and cut where the heal would be with a dull knife, they added / stacked the sole to the bottom of the sandal to the point the shoes look very odd and distasteful, their is an area where an arch undercut was and they put this bottom of about 3/8" over it and did not bother to blend it, They said $45 to do the shoe's including a tan polish up front, What I got was a rush job, not neat, I asked about this and why, the man said thats a lot less than usual and the were also not tanned, I asked them to put something on them and he did a quick polish, really no effort. In the end I would have been better to save my money and not use Tim's and cut the backs off my self, I have better tools. Low rate work, waste of time and money! read more

Excellent business! I brought in a pair of leather flats that had an uneven seam on the inside of the left heel. I couldn't wear them it was so painful (left a blister for weeks). The gentleman took a look at them, identified the problem, took them in the back, "filed" the seam down, and handed them back. 5 minutes max. No charge. I offered to pay, but he said no.
