I had heard rave reviews of Tim's Too from friends, so when the opportunity to try it came about last week, I jumped to it. The interior is not quite what I expected based on how the exterior looks. I was expecting a casual upscale feel instead of a casual feel with cramped tables. I've been to a few Mongolian grills and this one is so-so. The food was OK as was the selection. The service was a bit slow, especially to get beverages. If you have a Mongolian fix and are in the area, this might do the trick. If you can wait, go to a different place. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the place, as it is similar to the Flat Top franchise (An Asian Grill), which I am not a huge fan off. However, Tim's seems to use better quality rice, noodles and add on's. Basically, you make your own dish and the chef cooks it on a flat top grill. They have a wide variety of items to add to your dish and variety of sauces to can sample prior to pouring a bunch of it on your meal. Moreover, they have an interesting selection of beers (Bear Beer, Ed Hardy, and other relatively obscure beers) for a place in a very touristy area. The waitress was good and explained everything well. It came to about $40 (for two), which is kind of a lot for Asian food (especially considering the area), which is my only complaint. Very good, health ingredients cooked to perfection on a flattop grill with lots of sauce and flavoring options. The flat bread is awesome! Get an extra. It's pretty cozy, so a group more than 6 is tough. The service is generally good, though I've noticed when they get busy they may not be staffed for it. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. Yes it is a small place that is not decorated as well as I would like especially for the price which can be a little on the high side, but I love the place. They please both myself a meat lover and my wife who tries to eat vegetarian as much as possible. I am so glad that I just have to walk a couple of blocks to get here and do not have to travel 30 min to either Kalamazoo or South Bend to get Mongolian. Good Asian grill. We went in around 1130, there were some people but not crowded. Veggies were fresh and line was clean. I wish they had a separate bowl for the sauce, it was hard to tell if you had enough. I managed (9 scoops) but both my companions had food that was light on sauce. Meat was a little overcooked and honestly my least favorite part of the meal. Maybe I'll go all eggs next time. The flat bread is delicious! The restaurant was packed by 1215 so I recommend getting there early, lots we're standing and waiting for a table. Despite that, service was fast and professional. read more

Go to Tim's Too for lunch and the price is reasonable at $9.99. If you go at night or after five o'clock they tac on $6 bucks for basically the exact same food. I guess you can get one fried shrimp with your meal. Its ridiculous to up charge that amount just because it's dinner time. A mongolian bbq knock-off of sorts, this place is relatively small and cozy but you can make yourself a decent stir-fry if you have the right ingredients. They do offer beer & wine, and it'll get packed quickly, so timing arrival would be important. There's service but it's got a laid-back feel like you're in a college town restaurant. Honestly this is not the place to get Chinese food. I don't think that the food is all that great, it reminds me of subway where I can just put everything together but for a cheaper price. The only stir fry that i know of in the area unless you go to south bend area. You are charged one price for as much as you can fill in a bowl. There are many options of foods to choose from. Dinner time is $15 per person (which is pretty expensive in my opinion). The price is the only downside. read more

Stopped in Friday night for dinner, from the beginning we were not impressed. We had never been here before and when you walk in there is a sign that says to please wait to be seated. We waited awkwardly for a few minutes before one of the guys working the grill told us to have a seat. Once we found a spot it was about 10 minutes before we could catch the waitress's eye. She explained to us how getting our food works, very similar to any other Mongolian grill place. She took our drink orders and then we headed to get in line for the grill. It was fairly busy and the food in the bins were intermingled and a bit messy. Once we loaded up our bowls and set them at the grill we went back to our table and waited another 15 minutes or so before our waitress brought us the wrong drinks. She apologized and came back 10 minutes later with our correct order. About 30 minutes after we had dropped off our food at the grill, it arrived at our table. If you want any sides like rice or spring rolls you just have to ask your waitress for them. There are no menus or prices of anything listed anywhere. The worst part of the whole thing is the flat bread. Everyone raves about the flat bread including the staff. Let me tell you, the flat bread tastes EXACTLY like pillsbury flakey biscuits that have been flatted and thrown on the grill. Ours turned out a bit doughy. Overall I was not impressed. There are better restaurants in the area. read more

Many previous reviews have complained about the cleanliness of the place, but guess what, spills happen! As a mom of three kids I know this! Of course sauce is dripped and there may be ONE piece of broccoli sitting on the counter! That's just what happens when you let people serve themselves in such a small location. Granted, it would help if they made the glass higher. The food here is always fresh and delicious! Sauces are all amazing, and there are so many different combinations you can make, as well as lots that caters to people with dietary restrictions. Our whole family is vegetarian, and there is a color-coded stick you can put in your bowl to let them know you want it cooked on a separate grill so meat juices don't intermingle. The only downside is that the veggies are sometimes a little less cooked. You can get tofu and delicious, warm, flaky flatbread in your bowl for no extra charge! We only come to visit family in the area, but when we come, a visit to Tim's Too is always a must! read more

Yes the place is a bit small and has a limited drink selection but the wait staff is very friendly and the food is great. There are a number of fresh ingredients to choose from and you definitely won't go home hungry if you pile up your bowls. The sauces were great and our waitress was extremely accommodating for a special cooking request. Tim's Too is one of the best restaurants in our area! I love how you can customize it to exactly what you want. The food is not mass produced and then just thrown in a microwave. If people are complaining about not getting enough to eat then they aren't putting enough food in their bowl! $15 for dinner can be a bit steep for some however, I can easily get 1 dinner and 2 lunches from one trip to Tim's. can't beat that!!! People have reviewed different kinds of meats touching I've never seen that and we've been to Tims well over a dozen times. The dining area is a bit tight but when it's nice out you can dine outside. The sauce truly does make the meal. Be sure to sample and create the right sauce for me it's the orange ginger and garlic something....amazing! Just the right amount of kick. The price is a little bit higher then most other Mongolian style places i have been but still good. My family loved that they separated meat into a new bowl and had gluten-free and vegetarian protein options! The price wasn't bad either.
