Probably the best barbeque I've ever eaten! We've gone every time we're in Weston. I have the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on top. My husband gets the combination sandwich. They say they smoke it slow...for 16 hours. We so wanted the banana cream pudding but were just too full. The wait staff are knowledgeable and fun. So glad to be back in barbeque country again! This was pretty much the only place open for dinner in Weston on Memorial Day, but I probably would have eaten here anyway. The brisket was truly amazing!!! Yes, a platter only comes with 6 oz. of meat, but, hey, isn't that the serving size that health guidelines recommend, anyway? Two types of house barbeque sauce were at ready on the tabletops. Both were very good, but I preferred the pepper sauce, which was a little less sweet. And speaking of sweet . . . unfortunately, the baked beans that I ordered as a side were so sweet that they were really inedible. The other side that I ordered, broccoli salad, was also sweet (with craisins and a sugary dressing), but it was so good that I ate it all. Seriously, though, if people in Missouri regularly ate this much sugar, they'd all weigh like 200 pounds! Oh, wait . . . hmm. I guess that brings us to dessert, which I skipped. First of all, this place is quaint, charming, etc. -- all things that make it comfortable to sit in and just look around. There was only one waitress for the whole place, maybe 10-12 tables, so there was some extra wait but it wasn't because she was sitting around, not at all -- it was really pretty interesting to see how efficiently she moved around and got stuff done. Weston the town itself is also a very interesting place to walk around beforehand or after. Food: Excellent. The brisket was superb (I don't really know enough about Barbecue to compare KC style vs. Memphis vs. Carolina vs Texas, I just know what tastes excellent, and this did). Sides were yummy too (I had mac and cheese, and let me tell you that the melted crispy bits around the bowl are my favorite part, and the excellent 24-hour slaw). Prices were excellent too (and by "excellent" I mean good value!) Drinks: Cheap, but mine was a bit weak. But it was cheap, so that didn't bother me too much. If you are stranded in the Food Wasteland near the KC airport, and don't want to go to Zona Rosa for lousy corporate food (I'll exclude the excellent Ixtapa from that descriptor), Weston is not far away, and I'd really recommend it! read more

Tin Kitchen isn't the BBQ that I've ever had as that claim belongs to Black's in Austin. Having said that, this place is definitely in the top five. The brisket on the Q sandwich was very tasty. The mac and cheese was delicious as were the handcut french fries. The only complaint is that the Nutty in Kentucky just tasted like a bourbon and coke. The salted nuts didn't add to the flavor at all. Next time I come back to West and I will be back, I'll be sure to visit Tin Kitchen again. read more

We had the TK buffet catered for a wedding rehearsal and it was some of the best BBQ I have ever eaten. The best brisket and slaw. Their BBQ sauce is perfect, not too sweet or vinegary. Their beans have so much smoked meat in them they could be a meal on their own. I highly recommend! read more

Beautiful building. Our waitress was great. I got the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and the pork was moist. They have three BBQ sauces. I added the sweet one and it was super yummy. Portions are big. I would have given a higher rating BUT there was a waitress there (not ours) with blonde hair, looked like she was just out of high school and she sat at the end of the table and just stared and gave dirty looks. I mean she was mean muggin. Remove her and it was a 4.5 event. Places should not allow their staff to talk crap and glare at their patrons. We visited Tin Kitchen on a Sunday for lunch, having heard rave reviews. We could not have been more disappointed with the food and the service. We ordered the 2 meat BBQ platter and the serving size for the meat was so small it was almost laughable. The fries covered the plate but we came there to try this meat which is why I ordered the $15 two meat plate. The waitress came over to check on us and we told her that we were disappointed in the portion. I'm not one to complain or give a bad review until we address the problem first so they can redeem themselves. We overheard the waitress telling the rest of the staff which just made us feel awkward. They made no effort to apologize or offer any more food. In addition, the brisket was dry, and the food was average in general. We will not visit there again and sadly disappointed with how we were treated after we addressed our issue. read more

They do not over dress their food, the food doesn't need it! The entrance fits beautifully on the historic Main Street with a simple White façade with black lettering, easy to find. Atmosphere is warm with photos of the area and seating for couple of diners to a group ready to go with high top table row right down the center, booths line each wall. CLEAN. The half-chicken is delish, the beans are real, coleslaw is southern style vinegar, pulled pork sandwich delish, ribs to die for. Make your way to the back, you will find the facilities, you can see them in action in the great hearth kitchen and there is an entrance to the Tin Kitchen bar, that is connected but in a very cool way. Amazing BBQ! Compares with the best BBQ that KC has to offer. I had The Q Sandwich (brisket with cheese and onion strings), which was as good, if not better, than the Z-Man at KC Joes. My wife had the pork sandwich, I had a bite, and it was awesome too. The coleslaw was vinegar based rather than mayonnaise based, it was excellent. Outstanding bbq about 20 minutes from the airport. Service is great and food is filling and priced right. About 8 beers on draught and 20 more on the menu all under $5. The combo sandwich came loaded with brisket and pulled pork with a few pickles on the side. I also had the broccoli salad and Cole slaw as sides. Everything I tasted was exceptional. Cole slaw had a nice softness to it with no overpowering flavors - just tasty slaw. The broccoli salad was a nicer healthier option combined with raisins and a similar slaw coating. The bread was toasted and the pepper bbq sauce was tasty but very unassuming. It's just some good sauce nothing more nothing less. The original tastes more like ketchup than bbq sauce so that was my one negative I could say about Tin Kitchen. The brisket was fatty and charred and just fell off as you picked it up. The pulled pork could be cut with a spoon. Both moist but and tasty on their own but perfect compliments to the mild sauces. Both the brisket and pulled pork were must orders. Different tastes but both exceptional. Low and slow I definitely shown at Tin Kitchen. This meat is well worth the trip from Kansas City and rivals some of the best in town. read more

This place is on main street in Weston, right across from the brewing company, its a modest spot with about 10 booths, 1 long table designed for groups and a few tall tables, they have a nice small bar and its cozy. The food was tasty and tender, the wait staff was helpful and pleasant, they have their own barbecue sauce which boasts three different flavors, menu is small but concentrates itself on their specialties. The wait was not long just had to wait on their fries, cause as you know all barbecue is precooked so a long wait should never be had, good food, good service, and easy to find, all around winner here. read more

The only problem that we had at the Tin Kitchen is there seems to be no real host/hostess. People would stand for up to 15minutes inside the door with waitresses passing by continually and not even acknowledging the customers. Granted, it could have been an off night. That being said after we were seated everything was excellent. House salad is more than you would expect, fresh & full. We ordered the Q brisket with crispy onions and a cheeseburger with fries. Everything was wonderful. Huge portions, you couldn't actually make out the plate. Fries are wonderfully seasoned. The brisket was smoked to perfection and the seasoning of the cheeseburger was delicious. Our waitress was attentive and service once we were seated the service was great. Happened to be in Weston for the first time and the Tin Kitchen was open. Local shop owners recommended them for their BBQ. I tried the pulled pork sandwich with slaw and my husband had the cheeseburger and fries. The pork was fantastic and I preferred the sweet and the original BBQ sauces. Couldn't decide which I liked better! The bun was toasted on the grill and helped make the sandwich wonderful! The slaw was good but could have marinated more. My husband thought it was a good cheeseburger, messy but full of flavor. The fries made the burger worth it. They were heaping and perfectly fried. Shoestring crunchy but soft on the inside. Found this gem today after hiking at Weston Bend State Park! And when we asked the other waitress she promptly stated oh she'll get it.... Then when we went to pay we asked nicely if they did military discount and the waitress was very rude in her response. The food was edible, but the service was ridiculous. We were crammed into this long, weird "common table" with a bunch of strangers sitting so close that you could barely move without bumping elbows with them, which was incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. All the while, there were open booths! Neither my boyfriend nor I were ever even offered a refill on our drinks or asked if we'd like anything else when we were done...just had the check tossed at us like they wanted us to leave.
