Came for a balayage and cut because my last stylist didn't quite give me what I asked for, and I gave minimal instructions for what I wanted and it came out perfect. My hair usually is difficult to lighten as it is naturally pitch black and yet I got to this gorgeous color in half the time it took at any of my past salons. I love Tina's beauty salon! I've been coming here for years and I've recently been coming more frequently during the year. Both stylist are great and I have no preference. I love to come to Tina's to do my root touch up in between highlighting with my main hair stylish. I love the color my hair is when I leave Tina's. I naturally have black hair and when I get it colored here it does not turn orange or brassy. The price is also very affordable compared to many other salons. To get my roots touched up is around $40-50 I also come here for my haircut every few months! You really can't beat the price of around $20-$25 for a women's haircut. I am always satisfied and pleased when I leave. I also recommend Tina's Beauty Salon to my friend and colleges because do beautiful work for an amazing price. I haven't had my hair cut in almost a year so I knew it was way past due. I went in at 10am so I only waited about 5 minutes until a lady took care of me. I've had a ton of bad hair experiences in the past with people going scissor crazy & taking off way more than I wanted, however this stylist listened to me with open ears and really respected the amount I wanted to cut off and everything! (I did not catch her name but she was extremely sweet & so easy going. She moved from California with her kids JUST to help Tina with her hair salon & that definitely takes some guts!) I asked for long layers, & very, very subtle highlights. She did an amazing job! I do wish my highlights came out lighter but I did ask her to make them really subtle since I've never highlighted my hair before but I'm really enjoying me new do & I do hope to go again soon for lighter highlights! --- On a side note I did get to see Michael do hair & he was soooo particular & very crafty! If you an the type of person that wants a "V" shaped haircut DEFINITELY GO FOR HIM! I watched him perform that V shaped haircut on a woman who had hair down to her butt & the results were STUNNING. Came in at around 5pm with my friend, we were the only two customers at the time. Requested a trim and layers today with who I assumed was the owner. She was very nice but I felt a little ignored. More in length was taken off then what was asked and overall felt like she wasn't very focused on my haircut. Distracted by the TV and fellow colleagues, a lot more was taken off than what I was ready for and than the length at which I requested her to stop at. To which she replied had to do with layers, which may be true. But in previous haircuts layers don't take off quite so much length. After the cut, my hair was blowdried and straightened. It was a nice touch but in straightening an area close to my ear, the flat iron was definitely too close for comfort. I really wanted to like this place after seeing so many good reviews on here and from friends. Generally disappointed with experience and cut. My skin wasn't in the best shape that day, and I walked out of there after 45 minutes of attentive care, numerous masks, and an intense hot bamboo treatment, to feeling like a new woman!! Hot bamboo suction + facial = wow. I was this*** close to driving to another facility to get a $70 facial, and I am glad I walked into Tina's first. Julie was the lady who did my facial, and she was very pleasant during the entire process. This was my very first facial so I did not know what to expect, but she made it painless beyond what I expected. The bamboo was not too hot, but there was pretty strong suction- pulled the disgusting stuff off of my face. The bamboo treatment took about 10-15minutes or so. The rest of the time she did the "typical" facial treatments: mask, steam, massage, another mask, and another massage... felt amazing. The only downside was the noise from the salon can be heard in their "facial room". It didn't help that there were kids running around screaming the whole time in the salon. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend to try it, half of what a facial normally costs, with the same benefits. My skin was so soft and rejuvenated! I am going back every month. read more

I've paid more than a hundred bucks at different salons, and there is no better haircut for 1/5 the cost. For the money, there is no better haircut in the city. Michael is my primary, but I've been satisfied with every other person in the salon. Probably one haircut every other week for the past ten years. If you want foo foo and frills and spotless workstations, then this might not be your place.
