Quality is my focus when it comes to hair care - the Tina Pearson salon cares about your hair. Everything in New York city is like fast food. No one really takes there time in the city and the hustle and bustle is second nature like breathing. BUT - at the TP Salon, you not only get swift service, but also deliberate TLC for your hair needs. The salon has a wonderful atmosphere. You are greeted by the receptionist when you first walk in. The next person you see is most usually the person who will wash your hair, asking you to take your jacket, purse and refill your hands with a refreshment. Within 5 minutes you're in the chair getting your hair washed (if that's the beginning to your treatment for the day) from an experienced technician. Soon thereafter, you are sitting in your stylist's chair, being blown out. My biggest gripe with hair care prior to coming to the TP Salon was that stylists had so many clients, there was no personal touch or personal attention. If I was having an issue with my hair or wanted to begin on a certain track, my stylist never really remembered. It always felt like starting from the beginning, instead of picking up where we left off. My experience at the TP Salon has felt much more personal. Tina makes recommendations throughout and even if I am not scheduled for a trim, but a cleaning up is necessary, she takes care of it. If she is not available, I am able to hop to the chair next to her's and have Leah do my hair who is equally as conscientious with a superb flat ironing technique. I have been a client for 4 months and I like the results I'm getting. My work requires me to be on television and well managed hair is very important. I have been With Tina Pearson from 2007, 2008 through 2015 where Tina provided me with my hair cut after having a bad situation with my hair that NO ONE could fix, I mean no one..from Florida, NC , ATL.. I was recommended to Tina by a friend to her upper east side location. My hair at the time was long and severely damaged. Tina provided her champion skills as an Artist that she is with hair providing me that " Halle Berry " look but better! with her style, professionalism always greeted with superb style of assortment of her products, Tina maintained my hair for 10 years. Tina Pearson salon relocated to NJ and in 2015 I stopped cutting my hair. I had another tragedy to my hair due to Covid and suffered trying to get someone to compare to Tina Pearson Salon with Seven different stylist( so called champions)... I was devestated .. I was able to Find my way back to Tina Pearson Salon yesterday!!! I literally prayed... low and behold after being messed up with my hair for a year, went to Tina and came back to life!!!! Words could NEVER express how greatfull I am to being back into the hands of Tina Pearson Salon. The staff is amazing !!! The " energy" upon entering alone brought me back to life. After being canceled on twice by a stylist to cut my autistic son's hair, I called Tina Pearson Salon in desperation to find someone that could scissor cut his hair. I was able to get him in the next day! A Saturday no less! I arrived about 15 minutes early for my appointment so that my son would not be completely overwhelmed and Beyonca was ready to take him as soon as we walked in. I explained that my son was autistic and very sensitive to touch and because of this he had not had a haircut in a year and it was starting to become to much for him to have me comb out. My son has 4C, very coarse, hair. Beyonca was very gentle with him from wash to cut. He did not cry once! He even let her use the clippers to clean him up a little. She even took the time during the entire process to tell him how good a job he was doing. My son had his iPad and did not play with it at all! He was total calm and felt safe with Beyonca. His haircut took less than 30 minutes from start to finish. Iam so happy that my OLD stylist flaked on me because now I have found a salon that his 100 times better that my son and I can go to. Thanks to the Tina Pearson Salon my transition from relaxed to all natural hair has been one of the best beauty decisions I have ever made! I have been a client at the salon for several years. Although they helped maintain the health of my hair while I had a relaxer, I wanted to attempt going natural. Every step of the way Tina and other stylists knew the best techniques and treatments to deal with my ever changing hair. I continued to receive compliments from others throughout the transition; mainly all my friends were amazed with how silky, shiny, and straight my hair looked without getting a relaxer! Admittedly, I had no interest in chopping off all my locks, which is sometimes suggested to those of us who decide to stop relaxing their hair. My hair has been a challenge for me for as long as I could remember. I have been relaxing my hair since I was a teenager. Never knowing what to do with it, I always stuck to my trusty ponytail. When having my consult with Tina she sat me down and explained my hair too me, which is something i have never had done at other places. I made an appointment with Nicole for a haircut. I was 15 minutes (or less) late for my appointment, and after waiting 30 minutes, the receptionist told me that Nicole would be working on her previous client first. Given that I was late, I said, "no problem, but could you give me an idea of when she will get to me?" She goes, talks to the stylist, comes back and says at least one to two hours! They blamed me for being 15 minutes late. Clearly, Nicole was behind schedule and did not want to cut my hair. They could have, and should have called me (they had my phone number) to tell me that I should reschedule, if late. Nicole sat me down to give a 'consultation' and it was not confidence inspiring. I traveled an hour to get there, only to leave without any service. I did not have a coupon, so I was prepared to pay full price for the service. They've lost a client forever. Totally unprofessional: blame the client! Do not double book appointments. I usually get my hair cut across the street from this place and never have I had this problem. read more

Out of all the salons I've been with, I have had the best experience with the Tina Pearson Salon. I have been living in New York for 14 years now and have had my share of experiences with several hair salons. Tina and her staff have been doing my hair for nearly 2 years now. They are all very nice, highly professional and (most importantly!) really good. For at least 9 years, I've tried to grow my hair longer and several stylists prior to Tina have promised me long, beautiful hair "in two years". No one has delivered on their promise except Tina. Since moving to her, I have enjoyed an improvement in the health and growth of my hair. I love my recent long, layered cut. Oh, by the way, my husband loves it to. This review is way overdue. I first met Tina at her clean and calming salon in November 2016. I was thinking about going natural after years of damaging my hair. She initially had a consult with me and suggested that I cut my hair due to my scarring hair loss. She also gave me a hair regimen including using her hair products. Not only does she do beautiful work with your hair, she understands the most common hair disorders. She has cut my hair, grown my hair, colored my hair, cut it again lol, and placed a full installation weave, all while maintaining the health of my hair throughout the process. I always receive a warm welcome as well as the best shampoo service and steaming treatments. My confidence always gets a boost after leaving her salon. So glad to have met Tina and her colleagues...I just wish I found this salon sooner! read more

Went here a few times and Tina the owner did cut my hair one time before and she did an ok job, just cut my bangs too short. I recently booked an appointment for a hair cut with her again and was very dissatisfied with the results after paying 100$ just for a haircut. I just asked for a trim and she shaved my sides and back too low and when I got home and saw my hair, it was completely crooked. I expect my hair to be even after I just finished paying 165$ for a cut and wrap of my short hair. She never offered me a mirror to see the back of my hair so I did not notice it until much later when I got home and decided to look at the back of my head. Beautiful interior, calm & soothing atmosphere, quality products (i.e. Mizani), and a remarkably professional staff that treats you like a client, not just a customer. Upon arrival, you're greeted by the receptionist, given a smock, your coat/baggage is taken to the back and I'm always offered a beverage (usually water, but sometimes wine). I just had my first experience at Tina's salon and I must say that I was really pleased with my experience. I am Spanish woman who has a difficult time finding a person to cut and style my hair. I have always dealt with other hairdressers doing what they want to do with my hair and not what I ask. I definitely needed a change and Tina did an amazing job! The staff is friendly and very professional. It was a little more then what I usually pay but I didn't have a problem paying for it because it was what I needed and wanted. It was worth it! Always a wonderful experience from start to finish! The first visit I had a color/wash/blow dry/style, my hair is natural and I have to admit that was the best my hair has looked and felt . Literally I travel planes, trains and automobiles to get to Tina Pearson's Salon because it is just that good! I live in San Francisco and flew to Philly for a meeting. I headed to my sister's in DE for the weekend and realized that Amtrak + Uber = the best moisturizing treatment and trim for my naturally curly (as in kinky and fragile) hair! Great, comfortable, and relaxing salon! I was very pleased with the overall atmosphere and how great the employees treat the clients. It was my first time coming to the salon and I was a walk-in. I needed my hair done within the hour because I had a meeting to attend, and Tina (owner/stylist) got me in and out. She curled my hair quickly but efficiently and perfect, which was what I liked. I go to the Tina Pearson salon weekly and have been extremely happy with the services I receive. The stylist I see weekly is Leah (she's great!), but I am comfortable allowing any of the stylist in the salon do my hair.
