This was my first time here and I really liked it the owner Tina was very sweet and all were friendly I loved the older lady that did my pedicure wow she did wonders love all the massage and therapeutic touches she does I almost fell asleep,lol the color came out perfect and they are extremely clean!! If I could give this place zero stars I absolutely would. I just want to let you know that I won't be returning for any more services from your shop. I paid $70 to have my dip taken off and acrylic put on. I wanted French tips. Now. I made you aware that you had cut my finger open and you said the file did it. Well my finger blew up after I left your shop and got infected. Which tells me you weren't using clean supplies. And on top of that. My French tip isn't glossy at all it's matte because you took off to much of the gel top coat. This is absolutely horrendous. And definitely not worth the $70 I paid you. read more

They are cash (or check) only, which I didn't know, but she was very accommodating while I ran over to the ATM (kept my ID, which felt reasonable). Would go back. OK, I'm going to start this review by saying I'm NOT easily pleased. I've been getting my nails done for about 10 years, used to do acrylics and now I do gel. This was one of the best mani/pedis I've ever had. I called to make an appointment, they told me I could come in within the hour! Score! Pedicure started first, which was FANTASTIC. Some places will use a cheese grater, or a pumice bar, or a foot scrub, they used all three! Polish job was fantastic and extremely thorough, she checked each nail after painting. After the polish was done I got an oil massage, with reflexology, AND hot stones. Absolutely amazing! While I was getting my pedicure she asked if she could start on my nails - sure thing! Again, super thorough, checking each nail after polishing. The little things matter a lot here, when I sat down they brought a bottle of water over to me, and gave me a wrapped pillow to sit with. Asked every step of the way if I liked the color/paint job. One thing to point out - they prefer cash/check kind of a downer for me. But another high point - they give you a frequent customer card!! Horrible. Had an appt. Acted like they had no idea I did. Paid extra for a certain Pedicure it was awful. Had to re-do my and file all 10 of my nails and repaint my toes. I scheduled an appointment for a pedicure and I was taken 30 minutes late. The pedicure lasted a total of 25 minutes. I'm not even sure if the woman took any cuticle off. The hot stone massage was maybe 5 minutes long. The polish looks horrendous. I can't believe I paid $40 for a half fast job. I will not be returning! read more

I went into Tina's after reading these yelp reviews. The other places I have been going, my nails have chipped within days or they can't take me for hours. I went in around 4:30pm, and Tina said she didn't have anything till 5:30pm. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait that long, but as soon as I walked out of the door, she came running after me and made sure that I was able to get my nails done. The pedicure was amazing. Both Tina and her mom were so incredibly nice and accommodating. Everything was clean and sterile. I am definitely going back. I would definitely recommend making an appointment. read more

I really hate to do this but my service today was horrendous and painful and now have to get redone and spend more money. Before I go complaining about the service I want to say how friendly Tina and her mom are. The actual salon is gorgeous and extremely clean. I really thought I found my new spot until my nails were done. A gentleman nail tech took me for a basic manicure with gel nail polish. I had my nails clean no nail polish and cut short (prior to coming in for services) and it took 55 minutes for this service that should have been about 35 minutes. The whole cuticle cutting was also very painful and I was just trying to be positive and not try to complain. My nails were filed unevenly and sharp at some areas and thats the only thing I asked kindly for the gentleman to fix one finger at the minimum which I think he got mad and called over the mom and Tina and was speaking their language. I decided to keep quiet until the end after that. I now have nail polish out of my nail area (on all nails) with a lot cuticles hanging and one finger bleeding. Just a bad experience and in complete pain. Tina came to check on my at the end and you would think she would comp the services but didn't offer nor did I ask. I still tipped the gentleman for his services. Tina then came over and said "next time I will do your nails I hope you come back" & gave me a $5 off card. Not sure I will be back, I really want to give them another chance but I see my hands and I cannot believe they he did such a bad job. read more

Very nice staff and clean environment. The moment I sat down they put massage chair on for me, they are in great condition. They also brought me over water. The pedi is spa pedicure( sugar/salt rub, oils, hot stones)and they take awhile, which is a treat. While I was getting pedi done they started on my mani in the chair so by the tome I sat down I just needed them painted and a quick massage. Only downfall is they prefer cash or check. Also it's difficult to divide up tip since I had 3 people working on me. Overall I'll go back again and see how it goes the next few months. read more

Amy and Tina (mother and daughter) are so friendly and accommodating right when you walk through the door. I got a mani/pedi, which I am usually picky about. They both did a lovely job and even though it was a little more expensive it was definitely worth it. While this place is clean there is no need to go. I have tried it 4 times now and each time I ask myself why did I go here?? As everyone else has said it is extremely overpriced. Then they advertise they take cards but the card machine is always broken - which they don't tell you until after it is done. However, after I walked to the nearest ATM someone else was using the card machine. When I asked why they said they like cash better. Well OK keep hiding your money from the government. My bigger issue is that when I ask (and pay a high price) to have the old gels removed they absolutely kill. Most places will soak your fingers and scrape off the old nail polish. These people stick things under them to peel them off. This is so painful. Imagine someone taking a hard object and pushing and pushing it against your nails. When I clearly was in pain the girl looked up and smiled "does it hurt"... no Tina my eyes are just watering because it feels good. This has happened twice... you'd think I learned my lesson the first time. Another day I saw them do it to another girl who was physically crying in pain. Also this way of doing it ruins your nails. They scrape a layer of your nail off too ruining them. I went and bought a kit to remove them myself for $20 pain free (they charge $10-20 to remove them depending on the day). The manicures and pedicures are nothing special to make it worth it. There are plenty of other salons. I've had more than enough of them. read more

Tried out this nail salon a few weeks ago and got a mani/pedi. The location and setup is very clean and well taken care from what I could see. My pedicure was great and the woman was very nice. The one thing that bothered me is that the entire time I was there they talked very little to their clients. All of the staff were talking to each other in a language that they know do not understand. I think this is rude. I also didn't like that two technicians were going back and forth between 3 clients. There was no customer service or consistency. They did a great job on my nails and I am very happy with them. It hurt to give 3 stars but there is much room for improvement. read more

My mother and I have been going to Tina for about 3 months and have been getting our nails and toes done every 1-2 weeks. Tina is an excellent nail tech and is always very accommodating and thoughtful of your comfort. She has done beautiful nails for us all throughout the summer and they usually last for at least a week. The salon is always clean and sanitary and they always wash the machines and tools thoroughly. The hot stone foot massage is one of my favorite parts and feels so relaxing. For the level of service, this salon is reasonably priced. A regular polish manicure is $25 dollars. Before finding Tina, we had our pedicures and manicures done at our hair salon in Salem. The girls at our hair salon were very nice but did not do a good job on our polish and to my disappointment, did not offer gel pedicures, something that Tina offers and does an amazing job at. All in all, the Tina Tran Nail Spa is my favorite salon in Salem, and I look forward to more appointments in the future! read more

They took all 3 of us right away, and were so beyond nice and welcoming. They did an excellent job one ALL 3 of our manicures. The place is big and clean and quiet. Not smelly at all. I don't think this service was good enough to post more than one star. I had a not terrible but bad experience. I went there asking for prices but all they wanted to do was charge me extra for nothing really!! My nails were perfectly short and my cuticles were done prior to going and I was only there to get a polish but Tina would keep telling her mother something in Chinese and I just wanted them to be painted. I got way overcharged and my nails chipped in a week!!!! & for something I told them to not do and they still insisted. Went here for the 1st time as a walk- in for a gel acrylic fill. Very clean open concept salon & I was welcomed nicely by Tina. I was doing errands in salem, nh and was in need of a manicure and did not feel like driving out of my way to my usual nail place. Since the reviews for this place were amazing I went in. Its on the main strip towards the mall, but tucked away in a plaza. I almost missed it. There was a 20% deal going on, if there was not I would not have gone as my nail place is $5-$10 cheaper on every service. Really clean inside and the woman and her mom were very friendly. It was a Saturday at 1pm and there was me and two other people in there, which I thought was surprising. The mom filed and cleaned my nails and I was not that impressed. She used the thin thin ivory board, which I really dislike as my nails are thick and also she cut me twice which was annoying, but she did apologize. Her daughter was doing someone else's nails, and once she was done she had to refile my nails. I really was annoyed with this. It has been a week though, and my nail color looks great, but due to the way they clean and shape my nails, I will not go by again. Also, they did not use a sugar hand scrub, which my other place uses and I really enjoy that. read more

They are a small shop so call ahead for an appointment. They do not rush anyone and do a fantastic job. So dropping in sometimes does not work. Stopped by for a pedicure and was very impressed. Called a few hours before a Saturday afternoon and when I walked in didn't wait at all. Both the mother and daughter were very attentive, offered water and consistently checked in to make sure things were going well and that I was happy. Plus, polish still looks perfect and its been 2 weeks.
