I only been in the store twice. On both occasions Tina herself was very rude to me. I first went to her boutique about three years ago because I have a unique bra size. So I asked what manufacturer/brand of bras do she carry. Tina rudely went into that I have to be fitted first and I have to pay $20 for the fitting ( for her time)! Um it's a bra store, this is why she is in the business but policy is policy I guess. But my question was never answered. She did say the 20 would go towards the bra if I purchase. Maybe it's me but I wanted to know was the brands she carries. I stopped in there Friday, only because I had to pick up something from next door, because I wanted shareware. I was met with a nice young lady who help me find exactly what I wanted. While speaking with her I found out the they carry the exact brand of bra that I purchase regularly. Not to mention two beautiful dresses that fit me wonderfully. So now I'm so excited cause Tina's closest is closer and less expensive then where I go. Also I would rather help out small business then shop with big chains. Like I stated earlier I was picking something up from next door to Tina's closest so I had to run home to get my credit card. I live within walking distance from the store even though I drove. So when I asked if the two dresses and the shape wear can be put on hold Tina emerged in her rudely state and said very loud and clear and said no. She when on to say the dresses just came in and go very fast. I understand her point completely. However she never asked how long did I want her to hold it. If she would have asked I would have said 5 minutes. But Tina was so stuck on saying no to holding, not to mention she was extremely rude and so loud, that question never came up. Tina made me feel embarrassed that I wanted her to hold something.She did say she would only hold one item. I then told the nice young lady that I didn't want nothing on hold. The young lady helping me knew I was going to get all the items and come back for bras. I So the staff and her customers were very nice sweet and very helpful. It's the owner that is loudly rude, unprofessional and unaware of customer needs. I will never return. Oh and I thought this would be great because I go by Tina as well. I LOVE this place!! Tina herself fitted me for a bra. I had ppl tell me I was in the wrong size and I was. I was also wearing the back strap higher than I was supposed to. Tina correctly listed all the problems I was having - neck pain and being hunched over. The right size made all the difference! I am more upright and the back strap took a bit getting used to wearing lower but now it feels amazing! I wanted a different color they didn't have in stock but she called and said she would ship it to me. Very helpful! Highly recommend it read more

My mother recently visited Tina's closet in search for a bra to wear under a formal gown for her daughter's wedding. The entire experience was beyond innappropriate. Tina was extremely rude and insensitive. My mother has been battling a weight problem almost her entire life, and Tina took advantage of that and ripped her confidence to shreads. She tried to make my mother fit into bras that were uncomfortably small, and then continued to cut her down. I have not met Tina, but I cant imagine she is Miss America. If you're in the line of business to help people with a personal undergarment....have some compassion and respect for your customers. Tina, I want you to know that my mother cried for two days after leaving your shop. Thank you for your kindness during the last few days of her life, as she died accidently and never made it to her daughters wedding. read more

I love Tina's! I first visited this store on the advice of a friend a year ago. After four children and countless (mostly ill-fitting) nursing bras, I needed help! The woman who performed my fitting was wonderful. She could look at a bra in about one second and determine if it was a proper fit or not. I had been wearing about a 42 DD but was quickly corrected to a 34 G. One of the other reviewers recommends "going to Kohls". As a former bra purchaser from Kohl's, Victoria Secret, many department stores, etc, I have to disagree! I quickly learned that my problem was that those stores simply do not carry bras that will work for larger-busted women. These stores tend to have bras that compensate by making the band size bigger and bigger, and the cups get wider and wider. The well made, well fitting bras I found at Tina's were SO different!! My band size is now my actual measurement, and the cups allow room for the breast without being ridiculously wide. They actually FIT! (What a concept) I had been fitted for bras many times in many different department stores, and only after this PROPER fitting at Tina's did I realize how badly I had been misled. Another customer commented that the bras made red marks on her and were so tight she could not breathe. For the first day, I was afraid I had made a mistake. I, too, felt like I could not breathe. But I think you have to realize that after you've been accustomed to a bra 6 inches too large around your rib cage, a well-fitting one may feel tight at first. From the second day forward, I have never worn a non-Tina's bra again! My clothes actually fit so much better. Friends thought I had lost weight. This is the first bra I have ever worn that the straps have stayed in place. I have always had to tug my straps back up on my shoulders. Once I had a bra with the appropriate band size, this never happened again. I was extremely happy with my trip to Tina's and have recommended her to many women since. Prior to going to Tina I had been "fitted" by every department store and every lingerie store between Texas and Chicago and nothing was right. Tina gets it right! My clothes have never fit better and because I am now properly supported I look like I lost weight. The bras are high quality and the prices are comparable to any other store you would find these bras and her alteration prices are extremely reasonable. I took my mom to Tina's Closet and she now comes all the way from Texas to get her bras. You will never get the kind of attention you get from Tina and her staff. They will work with you until you have the perfect fit. They have endless patience. They ask all the right questions and make sure that you leave with a comfortable and supportive bra. I've been to Tina's closet twice now and cannot rave enough about the outcomes! You should anticipate prior to walking in to experience something like you might when walking into the soup nazi's cafe. There are very specific ways about going through the shop (you will fill out a questionnaire, will be escorted back to the dressing rooms when time, and should not leave the dressing room or start requesting other options until Tina is satisfied with the correct size). Having said that, Tina is a PRO at what she does and it's no wonder she's short with newbies... Do whatever she says. In my first fitting, I told her everything was WAAY too tight and she informed me, rather briskly, that I didn't know what I was talking about and it fit perfectly. And so I went with it and bought three bras. They are hands down the best fitting bras I have and like she said, they do stretch a little. I went back to get fitted for wedding items and she (on the spot) made some minor modifications to some items hat made them absolutely perfect!!! This is hands down the best place in the world to get undergarments and if you go in with an open mind and ready to laugh a lot, you will leave with some great memories!! In terms of specialty shops this is a good one. It is an incredibly efficient place that really specializes in fitting bras. Tina runs the store -- everything from fitting to altering -- and runs it well. She's a nice slender woman and that's probably because she never has time to sit down once she opens. I was looking for a good nursing bra and was referred here. She measured me, and had me try a few different ones. With each bra she helped adjust it properly and had me put a shirt on to get the right "look." She knows that not all bras are going to work for a given size and she had several bras in the larger sizes for me to try on, since I'm nursing. I was also there with an older (early 70s probably) lady who was looking for a bra that didn't let her hang down to her waist. Tina put a bra on her and it took 10 years off of her! I don't need 10 years taken off of me yet, but its nice to know that's what a bra can do. When I asked for a sports bra Tina didn't bat an eye and went to find one in an appropriate size. I've been able to run in the bra a couple of times (I didn't have to double up bras, or add a cami with a built in shelf) and it has been great. I could probably take off my shirt to run and I wouldn't knock myself out since the bra keeps everything in place. The other neat thing about the store is the Support 1000 box they have. This is a new charity that takes donated bras and gives them to domestic violence victims. Since having a good bra can make a huge difference in a person's self esteem and presence being able to donate gently used bras is an amazing thing! read more

I have been going to Tina's Closet in Lisle since the late 80s as a teenager. Now, at 37, I still remain loyal to her shop for all of my bras and bathing suits (despite my living in New York, Boston and downtown Chicago during this time). Tina provides magical fits and quick fixes and has seen me through 3 babies and lots of bra size changes. Most of my bras have been custom fit to me over the years (where Tina has made in-store adjustments) and I was so happy to find that she does the same for bathing suits. After trying other stores when I was out of town/state, I realized how lucky I was to have found Tina so early on in my bra-wearing career. Tina's selection is all-encompassing and she can quickly identify what you need that visit. Every time I go to Tina's Closet, I walk out of the store with, not just a new bra or bathing suit, but confidence. It feels so great to have a bra that fits! I came into Tina's Closet for the first time this afternoon with my 3 year old. There was a bit of a wait (maybe about 30 minutes) but I had noticed there were 6 people in front of me to be fitted. When we first walked in, a lady was standing right there with a clipboard to find out what my goal for the visit was. She handed me a number and a form to fill out. Very simple questions. When I got called back the lady who was working with me measured me right away and, possibly my only negative side to this visit, didn't tell me what she measured me as, but I heard her mutter something and I asked, and she told me right away 42J...and I had been wearing a 44H. She brings in 3 bras before we get the right fit and I feel kind of stupid for having worn a bra since I was 9 (so like 18 years) and I still wasn't getting them in there the right way, haha. I read a lot of others reviews about the band being too tight...and surprisingly I didn't have that issue. After I sent her looking for a particular style bra, Tina came in to check out the fit and to approve on it (which I think is awesome and how I would run my business, checking every detail) and I told her about how they had grown 2 sizes in a month when my daughter was 8 months old. She told me the cause was hormones from after pregnancy and showed me this cream she's used for 20 years. I forget the name of it, but when I go to pick up my new bra this next week after alterations (which were shockingly inexpensive!) I will have to ask her again. I could see sitting from the outside that it looked like they were rushing, but they are fast-pased, focused, and busy! I did not feel rushed or pushed or anything, and having an actual conversation with Tina herself made me feel more comfortable. As I am body shy and hate showing it off and even thinking that someone else could see my stomach usually freaks me out, both her and the lady who did the measuring on me did not make me feel self-conscious at all! I went to Tina's Closet for a long line bra for my wedding on the recommendation of several people. All I can say is WOW!!! Tina found the perfect bra for me. As other reviewers have said, if you are not a small girl, finding a strapless bra is horrible. This was the easiest, most positive bra experience I have ever had. Tina is honest about fit and how things look. After having concerns about if the lace on the bra would peek over the top, Tina assured me with alterations in the dress it wouldn't be a problem, and if it was, to come back and they would alter the top of the bra. After hearing her with other customers, I totally trust her opinions. She really knows what she is doing. I will absolutely be back for more everyday bras. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Tina's Closet for about 20 years now - even while living in 5 different states over 13 of those years. I tried to find someone/some place in those other cities to fit a bra properly, and failed over and over. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't find anyone who could match Tina's gift. Therefore, I had to fit a trip in to Tina's Closet whenever I was visiting Chicago. While my size doesn't change drastically from one visit to another... it does change as weight changes so I'm never quite sure where I should be without being measured. Now that I live in the area again, I am thankful to be close to Tina's Closet so that I can get a decent bra when I need it. I learned a long time ago (thanks to Tina) that most people wear the wrong size bra - you can see it. I have sent friends to Tina's Closet over the years, and they all become loyal like me - as they realize that Tina is the best deal in town. Love this place! I won't buy bras from anywhere else. And these bras last a long time! There are a few issues. Sometimes it does take awhile before you can get fitted for a bra and there are only 2 chairs for people who are waiting. At the place, tina has to fit you. I really like that because you will leave with a great bra! And if the bra doesn't fit right, she can alter it! The bras are a little expensive but definitely worth it! read more

We have shopped at Tina's closet several times and even brought visitors from abroad to the shop. I can not fault the sizing and service we have received. Today I took my daughter for her own fitting and was alarmed when one of the assistants came out and told me my daughter was clearly going to take after me. I am overweight and have an ample bosom as a result - my daughter measured 32" although a large cup size but is not even slightly overweight. I was not in the store to discuss my body or my bra size - I did not wish to draw attention to myself as I am very self conscious and have low self esteem anyway - without anyone pointing out to me that I have huge boobs. I know. I was not there to discuss my boobs. The only customers in the store were myself and my daughter so she was able to hear - and be upset by - what the shop assistant said. On top of that, we were both made very uncomfortable by the loud criticism of staff members by Tina while we were sitting in the store. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable to witness. It was very undignified and I would always prefer to not have to witness loud condemnation of staff by their boss when I am aiming to have a pleasant shopping experience for my child. It was very awkward. So - please save other customers the discomfort of difficult staff management issues by discussing them behind closed doors after your customers have left. You may be very comfortable doing that in your own environment with staff who also hear the balanced positive opinions you have of them but it just made me want to walk out to avoid the squirming. Thanks for the well fitting bras for my daughter. I would not be comfortable returning for my own needs, knowing that your staff are so very familiar with their role that sensitivity is not high on their list of priorities. read more

Not a pleasant experience for me at all. I am a 2-time return customer but never again. I get it. A lot of women don't wear the right size bra; the band in the back rides up because of incorrect sizing, etc. She has her points but her customer service skills are poor. She's abrupt, somewhat aggressive, and has a 'her way or the highway' approach to any form of questions/criticism. She flatly will not admit she made a sizing mistake. I went in with a 36C and she sized me at a 32DDD. (hindsight now, but a 34 would have probably been correct.) IT WAS TOO SMALL! I should have listened to my intuition but I left buying 2 bras. One of them was especially tight and eventually caused red welts and a sore ribcage. Of course it didn't happen during the 30 minute purchasing process, only after 10 hours of wearing it the next day. I was miserably uncomfortable. When I came back to complain, she assuredly told me it was a quick 'adjustment' because the straps weren't long enough. I left there feeling a bit more comfortable but that's just because the new 'welts' hadn't yet appeared. Next morning I took pictures of the newest welts and immediately went back and showed her. She basically told me she can't find anything to work (without giving me an opportunity to try on a few different styles) and she'd give me a refund. I even showed her how the one bra was at least 3-4" shorter than the other one I had purchased from her. (both 32DDD.) She had a hundred excuses for that comment. She then made a snide comment about how the bra I was wearing didn't fit me properly. (It's because my old bra was the only comfortable one I had to wear while my welts healed!!). I will not be treated that way again. read more

They do give me red marks right under my breasts and they always break. the wires bend and i fall out of them, along with the traps snapping. Tina rocks...abrupt, a bit handsier than your victoria secret sales woman as you get into place and learn what a bra is SUPPOSED to do for you, but, TOTALLY knows what she is doing. Bras range anywhere from $28-$98, and I'm sure she has a few that go higher, but I've also bought the perfect plunge on sale for $10. Give her a price and what you're looking for and you're all set. And for pete's sake people, if you're being fitted to a shirt, dress or whatever, TAKE IT WITH YOU to the store. How do you expect anyone to accomplish anything without it? Don't waste their time or the numerous other customers who are waiting. Great place for larger sized women as well, and their miracle suit selection is awesome too! read more

I went into Tina's about a month ago after reading some of these reviews. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Tina was EXTREMELY rude. I walked in to her standing at the counter screaming at her employees right infront of customers about how they rung up a transaction the wrong way. She went into the fitting rooms ranting to customers about how she should just close down because she gets no help and her employees are idiots. So unprofessional. I should of left right then but was in desperate need of a bra, so I stuck it out and waited over an hour for my turn to be fitted. I was extremely disappointed with the service from Tina. She spent about a whole 5 minutes with me and put me in very uncomfortable undergarments. I ended up just sneaking out of the fitting room and leaving the store very upset. After telling a few people about my experience I realized I wasn't the only one who experienced this there. I even had someone refer to this place as "Satan's Closet" & found out a few days ago that Tina was arrested in March for assault and battery on one of her employees..I wasn't surprised. In my opinion, Tina's closet is the premiere undergarment shop in all of Illinois. I have been going to Tina for 15 years and have always walked away happy. She fitted me for my first bra and I have never been satisfied anywhere else. If you find a bra and it still doesn't fit 'just right' Tina will even tailor it to your shape! I now live over 3 hours away and still return to Tina's!!! She and her staff are knowledgeable, professional, and 'in my experience gifted'. read more

I was in the shop this past Saturday. I heard about Tina's Closet from a friend who said she was fitted in a 32DDD cup bra. I was bigger than her so I decided I would go and see what size I was. Tina had a great selection of bras for me to choose from and made sure that the bras fit. It was weird, all of them were the same size however; they didn't all fit me. Tina' came into the fitting room after I tried on each bra and adjusted the straps, explained how I should wear the bras and also told me how to wash them. I didn't know I was suppose to hand wash my bras. Tina seemed to be real Patient and brought me several styles to try on. She talked to everyone in the fitting room bouncing from one room to another. She was also talking about breast growing during pre-menopause to some lady. I listened because I think that may be my problem. I eat right and exercise so it has to be hormonal. I found out why I was so uncomfortable, I grew out of my bras and had to go up three cup sizes. I was still buying the same size I wore in High school only to finally see that my body changed over the years and that was why I was uncomfortable. She said now my wires would stop popping out now that I am in the right size bra. Reading some of the other reviews, I think I was in the fitting room next to Deborah one of the other reviews. I remember Tina polity telling someone that the cup style was no longer made. I don't know how she does it. She went from fitting room to fitting room helping everyone. If you want personal help you are going to get it here at Tina's Closet. I had to wait about 15 minutes before she could help me. Once in the fitting Tina is quick to figuring your size. The first bra she gave me fit perfectly. I tried on several more and bought two. I bought a Felina brand bra that was $39.00 and a Wacoal that was $60.00. This was the best bra fitting experience I ever had. I asked if I could wear one of the bras home. Great experience and I love my new bras. While waiting for a bra fitting, her employees were explaining that Tina also custom fits the swimwear. I plan on going back for a swimsuit this summer. I'm bringing my mother who desperately needs Tina's help on my next visit to Lisle. read more

Went here for the first time, referred by another bra stylist because they would not alter a bra for me. Tina's Closet agreed to do the job that the other store would not, and it was done within the hour! Four stars only because I was a little shaken by hearing one of the managers yelling at the employee who I asked to help me; the employee had said that she would have to check with the manager before confirming whether they could alter my top for me or not. It was very uncomfortable to hear and made me feel as though I was inconveniencing the manager with my question. Other than this hiccup, I was very pleased with the services I received and the price was extremely reasonable. read more

Tina's Closet did not live up to its hype. Take this review for what you'd like -- as someone who works in business development, my one experience there left me with the impression that Tina runs her business by making customers doubt themselves and feel dependent on her expertise. Tina's Closet's mission statement is "to help women who could not help themselves find a Perfect Fit". While most women certainly are wearing bras that don't fit correctly, I feel that Tina takes the "who could not help themselves" part to heart. Women don't know any better about what our "perfect fit" is? At risk of sounding dramatic, I would go as far to say that I felt bullied in my fitting. I did not feel that Tina took any of my feedback or concerns in the store seriously. There were 3 situations during my bra fitting where I felt extremely uncomfortable. First, I was fit into a waistband size that was way too small. None of the bras that I tried on or purchased fit -- I can hardly close the waistband to clasp them. When I tried to speak up about this at the fitting, I was told I wasn't wearing it right, & Tina pulled my waistband down. That did not solve the problem. However, I am not as assertive as I should be and didn't press the issue (which is my fault). But the way Tina was describing her expertise and how the rest of society has bra-fitting wrong, I felt she must know better than I. Secondly, I asked for a push-up bra. I was given a bra that made my breast spill over the cups and create llike a second-level of boobs. One assistant who was quite nice stopped by and kindly gave me the same bra the next cup size up. When I explained to Tina how the first push-up bra felt, she told me "Well that's what a push up bra does, honey! You meant you wanted a fuller look -- you should have asked for that." I felt she was talking down to me for not using the correct terminology, her comment made me feel like I was stupid. Lastly, I asked to look at some lingerie for my wedding night. Tina brought me lace panties with garter straps. When I tried to express that wasn't what I was looking for and I probably wouldn't feel comfortable in it, Tina replied "Honey, you will be married! This is for him now, not you!" I felt this comment was very inappropriate and her tone was condescending. I felt extremely uncomfortable. It made me feel like I must not care about pleasing my future husband. This was just my experience -- and perhaps Tina was just having a bad day. However, I wish that Tina showed me, someone who is a bit insecure and inexperienced with buying different bras or lingerie, some more kindness. In this business, you should not just care about giving women your idea of a "perfect fit". Listen to them and don't make them feel stupid -- they aren't! Their idea of a perfect fit is valid. Awful experience. I was yelled at by Tina both in the dressing room & in front of everyone in the store for not wanting to wear my bra down to my waist. The only reason they let me return -for less than full price- the ridiculously painful & uncomfortable bra is because I (unfortunately) began to cry in front of all of their customers. I have been to Tina's closet and always had a great experience until today. We are moving to AZ so I called and left a message regarding my size and brand of bra which I purchased back in the summer. They never returned my call for a couple of weeks. I finally called today and again got the answering machine which I didn't leave a message. Soon I got a call back and explained to the lady that I need to know the brand since we are moving away. She told me the size then when I asked about the brand she put me on hold, When she returned she said that Tina marked something down and she couldn't make it out and Tina was busy at this time and couldn't talk. The lady did say that I could come in they would be happy to fit me and get that brand for me. I explained that we would be moving and I just wanted to know the brand so I could look to see who carries it in AZ. The lady proceeded to say well we can always mail it to you ( I wonder who would pay for It, I'm sure it would be added to my bill).. Also I'm not flying back to Illinois every time I need a fitting just to order a bra from Tina. I have always recommended her to many people. HORRIBLE! Wish I didnt even have to give this place one star. First I waited 25 minutes to be called in with 3 other people. Next I was told I wear a 32DD. (I wear a 34C) The woman brings me this awful bra but I agree to try it on just in case I was wrong about my size. This thing looked ridiculous on me. Looked like I had cones not breasts and was so tight my skin was pinching out of it. Next the owner decides to bring me something but in a 32D since I was measured currently wearing a padded bra. I told her Im not a 32 but gave her bra a shot. It was better than the first but still not even close to what I wanted. The bra was fine but not the support I wanted for every day use. This place is terrible. Why cant I just be measured and BROWSE the inventory to find what I want? Instead these women are trying to read your mind and find what they think you want. They make you think you are going to get one on one great service but its just crap. You are much better off paying less and getting a bra from maidenform.com. PS.. I overheard the owner telling the girl in the changing room next to me you can get 2 or 3 bras for $150 - $200. SERIOUSLY overpriced! IN RESPONSE TO TINA's comments: Hi Tina- I am NOT a liar. I was being kind when I said I waited 25 minutes it was closer to 30. You were servicing number 82 and I was number 84. The woman who grabbed number 85 waited only 10 minutes and she came in 20 minutes after I did. Secondly I was being kind again when I said the second bra was better, it was still a mess. You ignored that I told you it was too tight, again I am NOT a 32. You could have taken the time to recheck when I told you it was too tight. I normally wouldnt tell people my height and weight but I feel the need to. Im 5'5 154lbs. Id LOVE to be a 32 ..but im not. Secondly in your response you said you brought me a larger size cup when you brought me a size down. All I wanted (if any of you would have bothered to just stay with me for longer than 15 seconds) was to show you the bra I was wearing in white. The fitting was good and seemed thorough. I bought two bras on her recommendation $125 now lies in the drawer. The bras are too tight and very uncomfortable. They have not stretched out as I was told. I wore them maybe 6 times each and hand washed them in her washing powder. I cannot breathe comfortably while wearing them. When I called to arrange an exchange I was told she does not accept returns or exchanges. ??? What store does not accept returns or exchanges? They were not tailored or even an unusual size 36DD. She may have made $125 but she lost a customer. I will never go back. Buy your bras at Kohls. They accept returns. No questions asked. read more

I've been to Tina's a few times and have had mixed experiences. As a big boobied petite lady it's hard for me to find bras thay fit - I'm a 32HH. I have bought probably 3 bras from Tina's in the past and have referrered tons of people, including my MIL who spent $1100 there before a cruise. It's time for me to go bra shopping and I'm actually not going back because of last time. I went in at 10 weeks pregnant a few years ago, looking for a bra would work at least a bit into my pregnancy, as my chest got larger. I was fitted for a $60 bra, which fit very well, and I was totally happy with it. Then, Tina gave it to one of her workers and told her to "take 2 inches out" and assured me it would only make it fit better. There is a strict no return policy and they cut the tags off too. When I got home, I felt like I was suffocating, the bra was so tight. Definitely not what I was looking for, it left awful marks on my ribs and shoulders, and forget about wearing it while pregnant. I was out $60 (even after calling and explaining what happened) and I have never worn it, even now, because after having a baby my size is totally different. So very disappointing... read more

Okay. I went into this store January 2009 at the suggestion of a woman at the Motherhood store in Naperville, who unfortunately didn't have my size nursing bra. I walked in...was whisked into a room with Tina who spun me around with a measuring tape, said a few things, left and then came back with this bra for me to put on...that, like others have said, felt like I couldn't breathe. Tina told me that it was supposed to fit like that and that it would stretch in a couple weeks. Then I expressed my concern that there was no 'padding' to cover the nipples...and she came back with these silicone pad things that she designed (for an extra 14.99 of course!)...5 minutes and $65 and I was in and out of the store, not really knowing what had happened. After one day of wearing the bra and my skin was red and sore AND the wire poked up at the top (OUCH!). I emailed Tina about the bra and she told me to come in. So I made the trek out again (I don't live close). Once again, I wasn't in there more than 5 minutes...they sewed a piece of fabric onto the bra and said here you go after Tina telling me that it was MY fault because I wasn't wearing the bra properly!! Oh my! So...the fabric piece never worked, I had to have a friend sew the top shut. I also had my husband cut down the wire...and that didn't work either. So I have worn this $65 bra a total of 5 times. 5 times! I wouldn't go back to Tina because of the lack of time she takes to explain things to you, she is quite intimidating and then makes it seem like it is your fault that the bra is defective! I found this bra in my drawer yesterday and tried it again in the hopes that maybe something had changed...and sure enough that evil wire is still taunting me. So I made sure to find a place where I could post this review to save others from having to waste their money. I went to Bali and found bras that fit PERFECTLY! I bought 3 of them for LESS than what I paid for the bra that I bought from Tina. Spend your money elsewhere!!! read more

For the last 10 years I've bought all my bras and swimsuits here. I've learned a lot about how bras should fit and I appreciate all that they've taught me. But I had such a bad experience here last Saturday I won't go back. Tina had only had 3 bras in my size and they really didn't work. 1 didn't fit well and the other 2 were very unflattering (they made my boobs look really flat and wide, my sister agreed). But Tina seemed annoyed with me that I didn't just want to buy them and leave. When I said I didn't like they way they made me look she said "That's all we have" and she was done. So, I left without buying a bra. Now I'm on my own to figure this out. I called the store (5 minutes after I left) to ask my bra size so I could shop on-line. I have been going to Tina"s Closet for probably 15 years or so, and to be honest sometimes I ask myself "WHY"? Yes, Tina has a huge selection of bras especially for the hard to fit woman. And for me, I always need alternations and she does a great job. Tina knows her stuff and I will give her that. But she can be rude and condescending and seems at times to have no patience with people. I have witnessed her yell at her own staff. She has to be right all the time and I always dread going in there when I need to, because I never know how I will be treated. I have left there humiliated sometimes and have felt rushed and overlooked. She says she will do alterations on bras not purchased there. And even though I am a long time customer and often buy from her, (not only bras but all my bathing suits as well), I think she resents that I did not purchase the bras I brought in for alteration from her. I know you are probably wondering "why I am still going there".? I guess because I have not found another place like it. But, you bet as soon as I find someone else, I will not go back there. read more

I have had two bad experiences here: the first was when I requested to be re-fitted, as I had lost some weight, and was refused and given two bras to try on that I already owned without having been asked even what I was looking for. In my most recent experience I, and other customers, had to listen to Tina absolutely berate one of her employees right out in the open for all to hear. Twice. I'm ashamed to say that I stood silently and even gave this horrible woman my business by purchasing a bra anyway. It's a very comfortable bra, though it's a maternity bra and I am not pregnant. I pointed this out to Tina and she tried to tell me that the company makes all kinds of cuts of bras. Not true, they make maternity and nursing bras. I have no problem wearing a maternity bra but I have a big problem being lied to and treated like a moron. There is no other local store for me to find my size, but I would rather take my chance purchasing online than go back to Tina's Closet. read more

Worst place ever. Bad bras and bad service.

I would rate this zero stars if I could, this place isn't even worth one. I'm a high school girl who is rather busty, and my mom found me this place. From the reviews we saw here on Yelp, it seemed like the perfect place! I was really excited to find a bra for my senior homecoming so I could FINALLY wear a strapless dress. When I first walked in, I was handed a clipboard asking my size, what I'm looking for, etc. but then I came across price range. I wasn't comfortable with how high the prices seemed. Then I was given a number to WAIT to try on a bra. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I finally got back to the dressing room (which smelled like body odor). I waited for another 5 minutes before Tina came around to me. She took my measurements and then made a snide comment about how "my bra won't be around my ankles anymore". I waited yet ANOTHER five minutes before she came back with a bra, then left me to try it on. I found it was WAY too tight and it left red marks all over me. It DIDN'T give me any support (which I was looking for) and it was OLD LADY. She brought even more people into the fitting room, making me feel even more insignificant than before, and then just left me there. She checked on every other woman in there but me. I slowly got dressed again, thinking that she would stop by. And then waited... And waited... And waited. Finally I left the fitting room, not helped. I still had the bra, so I gave it to the cashier since I didn't know what else to do. She gave me the weirdest look, like I was an alien or something!! I was SO insulted and DISRESPECTED. I left crying. NO GIRL SHOULD LEAVE A BRA STORE CRYING. When my mother went back in to say something, they acted like Tina was some God and I was just overreacting. I learned of this store through word of mouth and decided to give it a try. I was not impressed and am not sure what the hoopla is about. While I do think I got a proper fitting I was not impressed with the selection in my size or the attention I received. Tina popped in and out but really did not give me much guidance as to what seemed to fit best. I was left to decide for myself what felt the "most comfortable" and was given the impression that my questions were an annoyance. I purchased three bras and after wearing two of them for longer than fifteen minutes I am falling out of them in places and constantly fidgeting from discomfort. The kicker is that there is a "no return" policy so shame on me for buying anything at all. I'm not sure I understand the no return policy in an era where there is so much competition with internet shopping and big department stores. I feel like I wasted my time and my money! read more

I went to Tina's Closet based off of several reviews on Yelp. Come to find out, I should have listened to the people who gave this place poor ratings. When you walk into Tina's Closet, you approach the desk to tell them that you would like a bra fitting. You take a number, and have to sign a waiver that states that you will pay a $25 fitting fee if you do not purchase a bra from their store. I was extremely desperate for some new bras, so I went along with the fitting. I am a chesty girl, and 25 years old. The bras that Tina was bringing me were fit for a woman who was nursing, or just for my grandma. You don't pick out anything that you like, and I was able to choose from the gorgeous colors of black, white, and nude. I finally was actually able to pick out 2 plain bras that were good for everyday use. However, Tina told me that I was measuring a 33 inch band, and that in order for the bra to work properly I needed an alteration to take out the inch. At first I thought that this was a true bra fitting and they were going to fit perfectly. When the store called me a few days later to come and pick up my new bras I was eager to wear them. At first my boobs looked great, then after a couple hours my boobs started pooping out of the bra and I felt as if I was suffocating because the band was so tight. When I took it off, there were large red marks all around my ribcage. Not to mention the middle part of the bra RIPPED so obviously it was way too tight. I think that the whole "personalized fitting" is a scam, and if you want a true bra fitting that accommodates your needs, I suggest going to intimacy in Chicago. They were great. read more

As stated by many other reviewers, the store atmosphere is odd at best. After waiting a few minutes for my appointment time I was taken in the back and literally had the tape measure thrown around me for 3 seconds and off the sales girl went to find my bra. I thought that was a little fast... but I'm not the expert. She started by handing me two bras to see if the cup size was right- they fit, but I looked very matronly and "cone boob". I asked for more of a t-shirt bra, something I can wear with tank tops and half the bra won't be hanging out. I also requested a racer back. After trying on countless bras I was able to find one that was sexy and supportive. I asked if they had this in any other colors- no. Ok... I said I wanted the one bra. By the time I got to the register I was pressured into getting a second, basic black, matronly bra. I did not like the style when I tried it on and said so. I was told that I was wrong and this is what it should fit/look like. All in all I walked out of the store $170 down and only one bra I will actually wear. They do cut the tags off in the store and are very serious about the no returns policy. So beware if you have a hard time saying no... the sales staff is VERY pushy. read more
