I walked in and everyone seemed so nice, but it ended up being my worst nightmare. I am usually picky about my French being straight, but never had to be the complainer until today. I hated having to tell them that everything they were doing was wrong. My pedicure was $55 and the lady barely filed my nails and left a whole bunch of excess gel white polish on my skin. Close up is horrible. When it comes to my hands, the lady acted like she was about to do them great and she knew better than me and little does she know I know how to apply gel X as well and this was not it. She filed my nails too roughly, she applied a whole bunch of gel glue and gel polish leaving bumpy nails, dark nail beds, and extra white polish on my skin and she kept wanting to trim my skin to remove the white excess. I remained quiet until it was time to pay and I finally blew up once they told me they don't take Amex and that is all I had. I told them the sign on the door says Amex and even when I first came in they said they take "everything even Venmo". So here I am asking for the manager because my hands were $75 and I was not going to pay that amount for this awful job. Another lady comes and tells me she can fix them for me and to pay the full $135 total. I was very clear when I said I don't trust you to make them better. She offered for me to go back and have them fixed after work, and I expressed how much of an inconvenience that was since they were supposed to be done right the first time. I told her I would pay the $55 pedicure (THAT WAS NOT EVEN WORTH THAT AMOUNT) but I paid it and thank God for Venmo because I had to use it since they didn't take my card. If you like to have 1:1 service with attention to detail THIS PLACE IS NOT IT. I am for sure not getting married with these horrible nails. It's awful because they were so nice at first but can't definitely trust this place and I'm sorry to be this client today. I asked for gel X on my nails and just regular gel on my toes and initially I was actually really happy with the results-- the nails look really good. The problem is that within two days, i.e. Friday the day before my sister's wedding, my left hand, pinky nail fell off. When I say it fell off, I mean, I literally did not notice that it had come off until like I saw my finger. There was nothing I was doing that made it rip off or anything like that and I don't play with my nails. I don't bite my nails I'm actually really good about not picking at my nails. So I went back on Friday two days after I had come in and the same nail tech technician replaced my pinky nail. Fast forward to Saturday and I look down and my index finger on my left hand (I'm right handed btw) had fallen off in similar fashion meaning that I didn't even know it had fallen off until I looked down and saw my nails. I literally work behind a desk. I don't do yardwork. I don't do any type of manual labor that would make my nails prone to detaching and frankly I've had gel X done twice before on my nails, and I did not experience any of this. Since I was out of town, I plan to go back today, Monday to have them replace my index finger and literally before I even went to the salon I looked down and the middle finger on my left hand had also fallen off! The same woman who initially gave me the manicure replaced my pinky nail (the next day) for free... and when I came in to show her that these two other nails had fallen off she fixed both of them in like 10 minutes and I was actually going to tip her until she told me that it was going to cost me $10......... I would have to pay $10 for her inability to properly adhere these nails onto my fingers.... Literally, they weren't ripped off and in fact one of them fell off in my purse so I had the nail! lol This nail tech told me that i "need to stop picking my nails" which... UM WHAT??? not only was it an extremely offensive and annoying comment because I do NOT pick my nails and I will leave a picture of my nails with this review so that you guys can tell me if there are any signs of me picking my nails. I think you'll agree that I actually have really healthy nail beds/cuticles. There's no peeling or any signs of damage and to top it off I went there solely because it was near Zara where I was picking up my dress for the wedding and it wasn't actually convenient at all for me to go back there twice to get nails put back on and JUST TO REITERATE this all happened within FIVE DAYS (day 2, day 4, day 5) of them being applied to my fingernails. But this is what really upset me. After I adamantly denied picking my nails, the nail tech then tried to say that it had been two weeks since I'd first come (??!!?) implying that I was trying to like milk the system and get free nails put back on even though it's really obvious from my other 7 fingers that these have not been on my nails even 1 single week and they're supposed to last for two weeks. so I don't like to leave bad reviews, but this left the worst taste in my mouth. I paid the $10 but I will never go there again and I really was shocked that they had me pay for it considering I had already paid basically $55 to get them done in the first place and they didn't last more than a day until one started falling off and three days when the second one fell off and then five days when the third one fell off and then rather than owning the fact that clearly they don't know how to apply gel X correctly, they blamed me and made me pay for the inconvenience of needing these nails reapplied three times. I explained to her my nail problems and she got right to work. She was super meticulous with repairing the weak acrylic on all of my nails, filed them down, added some more, and left me with my nails looking brand new! They tend to switch off a ton and it's just kind of weird having to explain to many people what I want. 2. A refill for Gel-X has consistently been a 2.5+ hour long appointment. I think it's because of all of the switching off, there's so much repetitive filing. 3. I've never had a set of Gel-X last more than a few days without at least one falling off. I once left the salon and the thumb came clean off within 20 minutes and then I had to wait for almost 45 for them to glue it back on again. Another nail popped off within a day. I really wanted to like this place but can't come back, it's very inconsistent and honestly just a waste of money if I have to keep getting my nails redone before 2 weeks.

Not the biggest deal, really nice out and our favorite boba spot just a few blocks down Polk St. When we got back the other woman in the shop started taking off the gels, they were taking a while to saturate enough to fully remove so the cotton with acetone and foil had to stay on longer. My daughter's fingers started burning and when we let them know, Jenny prompted the other woman to take a look. Not ready yet so while the owner was finishing up with another client this other woman needed to take care of it. At one point a customer had to ask this other woman to help my daughter, that she would kindly wait. It took over an hour to remove and clean up her nails, no manicure after. Two hours later my daughter's poor fingers are still burning. Jenny was quite apologetic and adjusted the price as a courtesy. We love Jenny but maybe she needs some more support in her shop.
