Before the pandemic I could not get enough of the food here. The egg rolls were the best, I always thought it was because of the 1 little shrimp that was in each and every one of them. After the pandemic, it was like Ting Hao just became Hao. Half of the things that made everything so tasty were missing from each dish. Oh, how I miss your fried rice. Lady at the counter was nice. This is a takeout restaurant so the ambiance was as expected. The lady was blowing her nose and had snot just sitting in her nostril which was off putting when placing an order for food. That should've been my queue. Looking at the menu prices I just knew the food would be at least a little tasty. Absolutely not. I would've been better winging it at my house. The noodles taste like sodium and they were overcooked. The shrimp was undercooked and the rice was the same as the noodles. Just tasted like nothing was added but salt. So, I've been going to Ting Hao for years. Always great food for a good price. Well, they still have good food. I understand inflation, but everything has doubled in price. It's a little ridiculous, especially considering they are carry out only still. You still get a ton of food, but it's not the bargain it used to be. The Eggrolls have changed also. Now they are pork instead of shrimp and made completely different. Still good, but not as good in my opinion. I'll go back, just not as often because of the price. read more

This is the only Chinese restaurant near my house, so I decided to give it a try. I just ordered steamed dumplings and it was $10! The most expensive dumplings I've ever had. I don't know what happened with changes in staff but it tasted awful. Ordered Szechuan chicken and General Tso's chicken. They said 15 minutes. Nobody else there and it took 30 minutes. I ordered the Hunan chicken lunch combo which included fried rice, soup, and an egg roll. All were very good. Came to about $9 including the drink I ordered (they only take cash). Had to drive around to find a Bank of America but it was worth the search because the food was very good. The customer service was great as well. Ting Hao is my favorite Chinese Restaurant in Salisbury. In my opinion, their food tastes better and the service surpasses any of the other Chinese Restaurants in the area. Located in the same strip mall as Food Lion and Family Dollar (or is it Dollar General?), this restaurant is my choice and worth the further drive for me for the quality. My husband and I usually get an order of fried pork dumplings, chicken lo mein, and either beef and broccoli or sesame chicken then eat like royalty for two days. Their rice is light and fluffy, and I don't know if it is the oil they use or what, but the veggies and meat just always taste so much fresher than the other joints. No other Chinese food restaurant in Rowan County even comes close to the deliciousness of the food at Ting Hao. None. Everything there is delicious, particularly the soups (egg drop, wonton, etc....), the rices, the chicken dishes......anything you would want. The prices are reasonable and it's in a fairly decent location. I suppose the only drawbacks would be that the place itself isn't much to look at when you walk in (or past), and they have some very strange requests or policies about payment. It's definitely never been the kind of place you would feel you need to go in and sit down to eat, if anything it's only a take-out kind of place. But it is well worth the trip to go down and bring home some of the best food in Salisbury. read more

Two came with fried rice, egg rolls and egg drop soup, mine came with white rice, egg roll and hot and sour soup. My son said his egg drop soup was good -- much better than the General Tso's which he only picked at. Apparently, the chicken was full of gristle. Gross! My chicken and mushroom dish was good, although the egg roll seemed to be full of stringy cabbage and not much else. The hot and sour soup was way below par.
