When I first went to Tint World under the new management and owner I wanted my Tahoe completed with a whole new stereo system, and I got it done by a young kid for $250.00 for the entire stereo to be completely put in. The kid did a awesome job and he took his time and it sounded incredible. I didn't have any complaints about his job he done. I then came back and an older guy put in my backup camera and he went above and beyond and did a terrific job and I had great respect for the job he done putting it in. I bought another Tahoe and I went back to Tint World to just have certain wires ran because I wanted to do my own install this time. I got the same older Mexican guy who did a terrific job putting in my backup camera. I asked for him to run 2 power wires from the second alternator to the back where my second battery was located and run my car audio jacks and my remote wire. Well unfortunately I didn't get that done like I asked. He only ran one power wire and a supposed remote wire that I never could find behind the radio. I was charged $300.00 to have one power wire ran and that's it. I had to run my own remote wire and the other power wire that I asked him to put in and I had to run my own car jacks from the radio back to the amps. Which was what I paid them to do. He did a rush job on what I asked him to do and it has taken me about a month to fix his slope job that he did. I am very disappointed with the quality of work that was done this time. I feel I was ripped off by them this time. When initially I had to end up doing all the work myself after his slope job. Trust me I won't be going back to Tint World ever again for any more work. I feel like I ripped off by them like I did with the owners of the Tint World that was there before them. Just make sure that they do the work like you ask them to when they are done. Thank you for your time reading this. I just had to make sure I expressed every detail of what happened. I almost forgot he also only installed one 150 amp fuse to run 2 2,500 watt amps. Unfortunately the fuse burned in half the very next day. I even told him that 2 250 amp fuses were used on the last build and the were melting and so were the fuse holders. Had a sound system installed. HUGE MISTAKE. Within a week one of the cables they installed was too short and broke. They first tried to blame the Amp that I didn't purchase from them as being the problem, when it was their installation. Now the system has shorted again and this time caused a major wiring issue with the entire car. These are the least professional group of people in the business. Never take anything that you value there, they will destroy it. Side note: they manipulate their reviews on their own website. They claim a 4.5 rating but when you go to independent reviews their ratings are 2 and are full of complaint after complaint. read more

I've had all 4 of my vehicles in for various accessory add-on's and windows tinted. I've only had one issue with drivers side window tint. It had some streaks and bubbles that never cleared up. I returned to address the issue. Store Manager took the car assessed the issue had me leave the car and replaced the tint turned out perfect. Couldn't ask for more...Very pleased with their professionalism, customer service and flexibility to drop and pick up my vehicles. Recently had some issues with an aftermarket rear view camera I purchased. I couldn't get the camera to work. Brought it in and they fixed the problem and now I have a functioning rear view camera on my head units display. Awesome job and I do recommend this facility/store for your accessory add on's... like remote start, auxiliary lights, LED day makers headlamp replacement, vehicle wraps and tinted windows. Got a sub installed. They did it wrong and said I needed a new alternator. Mechanic said alternator was fine . Took it back they kinda fixed it. Still sounds bad. It's pains me to have to click 1 Star as this specific tint world franchise deserves NO stars. Despite all the negative reviews I felt comfortable with Brandon and felt like he would do good work. My vehicle was in and out of the shop 4 times for a simple remote start and window tint job. Every time the vehicle came back something would be broken....clips, moulding..ect. The first time it came back my truck wouldn't shut off and sat there running with the key out. One occasion Brabdon was supposed to deliver my vehicle back to my work. I sat outside my work with no vehicle and had to pay a taxi to get a ride to get my vehicle. To this day my door will not lock, the window tint has numerous bubbles and the remote lock button will not work...The owner (Brandon) is not CAPABLE of making this right and has refused a refund. His offer was to fix what was broken..he was given 4 chances to do this and failed on all 4 occasions. Brandon made promise after promise that we would not keep. I called around to other shops in the area to fix the work. All specifically stated they would not work on something that Tint World did. I called the franchise headquarters who also told me that Brandon was the only one that could make this right. I am out $400 now and will have to pay a REAL mechanic to fix my vehicle. More time will now be wasted in court fighting the incompetence of this business. Do yourself a giant favor and keep your money in your pocket!!! read more

It took them a day and a half to install a remote start to make it work partially (they got it to start my car). They made me come back on a next Tuesday (23rd) and was told that it will only take 30 minutes but when I showed up, I was told that my appointment is not until the 30th (next Tuesday again). So on that day, I was told that it will take longer than 30 minutes (actually 3 hours) They got the door locks to work with the remote but they didn't even get the trunk to work. They ceramic coated my Ford F-250 and it exceeded my expectations. The interior was spotless and also rotated my tires and plug patched a nail in my tire. The same same day they also ceramic tinted my Jeep Wrangler and installed some new speakers. I Highly recommend them for all your auto accessories and detail work. DON'T GO THERE!! You been warned. This place is really bad I had my new truck front end wrap 3 weeks ago (witch took them 3 days )and it's peeling off they left a lot of bubbles on the film. They installed the wrong door handles on my truck and I didn't let them finish my deleted Crome moldings and they just won't get me my money back it's $500 that they own me. This place took 7 days to tint an Acura integra charged for tint removal when there wasn't any tint charged for a strip on the windshield that was never applied one price was told and when checking bank statements the charges 125$ more than agreed price and at the end of all this the tint job looked like crap and needs redone go ahead and deal with them if you don't mind being over charged scammed and get crap quality work read more

TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!! I had a wrap done on 2005 Charger R/T & the next day, after closer inspection in better lighting, I realized there was scratches along the edges. What an awful experience to say the least. Brought my truck in to have a tire patched, since other shops in the area didn't have machines big enough to dismount the wheels and tires. They managed to leave a nice deep scratch in my $1000.00 rim. They told me that they weren't liable to fix it, but never ever had me sign a liability form prior to work being done. Following the work being done and me pointing out the scratches, they argued with me and told me i was at fault, then tried to get me to sign the liability form. Took my car to get tints at 8am and they didn't finish til 6pm lol. The worker printed the wrong size for the window, and was smoking WHILE working on tinting my windows. Also noticed they left my car running for 30+ mins. However, the tint does look good with no bubbles. Overall a nice job with applying it. read more

These guys go well above what is needed. I purchased their Protective film for my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and they went above and beyond what I asked for. Although they were not able to meet the time frame they had quoted me the few extra days they spent on my vehicle were well worth it. They came in on their day off and even stayed after hours to make sure I got my Jeep back. The extra time they needed was do to them running into issues with the cutouts and the manufacturer directions not clarifying some of the issues they were seeing. It was also do to the vehicle being so new and the many cutouts that come with a Rubicon hood. I would recommend them without a doubt. A lot of individuals get hung up on timing but if getting the job done right versus me getting my vehicle back on time I will take having the job done right every time. They communicated to me throughout the process and they even ended up doing areas I hadn't even considered all at the same cost of my original quote. They even gave me a discount on tinting my passenger and driver side windows and did a hell of a job on that as well. read more

This place is full of shit took my truck there last Summer to get fully loaded meaning changing my lights front and back getting TVs inside Head rest TV deck and a flip down 15 inch speakers custom-made box and tweeters let's just say my truck was there for around two months steady telling us to hold off we could get it done just don't wanna rush on your vehicle get our vehicle back and our transmission went out the transmission place said it was due to faulty wiring reading bad to my motor all that wiring was done at Tint World our speakers kept jumping out the box due to poor wood he custom made our box with took it back to them in December because the owner Brandon told us he would fix all our poor done from his work non licensed workers did sad to say took it there beginning of December and it's February now and while my truck was there it got broken into and stole our tv deck and other miscellaneous products out of it had to call corporate twice and should have reported them to police but they assured me that they would replace my thing only for me to pick it up super pissed that my things were not replaced I was told to leave they business and never return and they was going to call the police on me so I went to the Loves Park police station and officers told me they don't now how that business is still open they in there once a week from customers complaining and very poor work that Brandon and his team members do so save to say I will be taking them to court and please don't do business with them very unprofessional and non license workers read more

Please listen to the reviews! I got 2 12" subs in my car here and have had nothing but problems! The fuse blew and exploded in my car plus it blew my amp. They replaced the fuse but would not do the amp even though I had a warranty! I bought a new amp on top of my 700 installation and fixed it myself in 10 mins! Now the fuse blew again and when I call the owner yelled at me telling me that I need to pay for it and that I don't know what I'm talking about. What happed to the customer is always right. The shitty thing is that the manager told me that if I had more problems that he would fix it for free. They didn't have me in the system and told me that I didn't get it there until they looked up my number and saw that they didn't put my info in. read more

I would NEVER go to tint world if I were you. In January 2021 I had to make 3 appointments to get my windows tinted and re-tinted. The first appointment they did all 7 windows but didn't do the rear window correctly so I had to bring it back to have it redone. Melissa the Manager/owners wife/ person who did it said my rear deck had to be removed so she could the tint on right and asked me to bring my car back after it had been there all day. I said I would and scheduled another appointment and did so for the following Saturday. I showed up the following Saturday and she asked me to reschedule because she was over booked and didn't think she could get it done. So I said that's fine I'd rather have it done right rather than have them rush and have it screwed up or not done right. I scheduled again for the following Saturday and dropped my car off. This is where it really went down hill. I dropped my car off in the morning, they again had my car all day. They called at the end of the day and I went to pick it up, went inside got my keys, they said it was all done made small talk and I went to leave. I went to the parking lot and started checking how they did and I opened my rear driver side door to look at the tint on my rear window and noticed they cracked a trim piece on my rear deck. The crack is about 8 inches long. Neither Mellissa nor the tech who removed the deck bothered to tell me about the crack when I was inside, because by their policy if there is damage and you leave they are not liable. Well they tried to say the tech could try and "mend" it back together. Or maybe it's a junkyard piece. Rock River Ford could order the piece and have it in a week. I told them yet they didn't want to fix it. I told Mellissa trying to mend a piece of plastic back together was not an acceptable solution. Mellissa stated she had to ask "Brandon" who is her husband if it was okay to fix it. And for some reason it was going to take her over a week to ask him. Yet she lives with him. I made numerous calls to tint world asking them to step up and do the right thing and have it fixed the right way. I was hung up on numerous times by the manager/owners wife Mellissa. I took my car home and parked it for a couple days only to find out the next time I used it they damaged my rear window defrost lines and that no longer works either. So I paid over $300 to tint my window and got a damaged vehicle as well. Tint World corporate does not enforce making their franchise owners fix the damage they cause. They lie and say they are out of products to up sell to a more expensive service or product. I've read numerous reviews of people asking for a service only for them to say they are out and refer them to a more expensive service. Check out other reviews on BBB and google. You will see a consistent pattern of this and other poor professionalism. I believe they do the up sell thing also because the owner Brandon Kurth has numerous small claims court cases against him for past and pending/present business practices. You can look up the small claims cases as it's all public record. I've also found they use fake profiles to respond to customers and and to try and pump up their review grades on sites. Tint World did a great job removing my old tint that was rippled and an even better job re-tinting my car. They also fixed an electrical issue I had with my car lighter socket that prevented me from using a changer. I had my car into other shops around Rockford and nobody could find or fix the issue that they found and fixed under 30 minutes! Very reasonable prices. I will be back for all my future car needs since they do just about everything. read more

I had my vehicle windows tinted here recently and would NOT recommend this business at all! Initially I was told that it would take about 1 1/2 - 2 hours to complete the tinting. After literally 4 hours I asked if they were almost done and their response was "You're still here?" I looked at my car and noticed bubbles on almost all of the windows and even a couple of hairs under the tint. They admitted that at least one of the windows needed to be re-done and told me to come back first thing in the morning that next Saturday. I came in first thing in the morning on Saturday just like they told me to and they told me that they could not do it that day because they did not have the tint needed in stock. No one called me to tell me this in advance and this was a complete waste of my time and gas to run across town for nothing. *I must note that no one apologized for this inconvenience either. They then scheduled a THIRD appointment and the worker ended up re-doing the wrong window. When I pointed this out, he admitted again that he had made a mistake and then re-did 2 of the other windows. They refused to re-do my back window which was the worst and has a crease and even a hair under the tint that is very noticeable. (There are also bubbles that he was not able to get out). They said that they have a "5% policy" which was stated no where on the paperwork that I received and that they would not re-do a window that had less than 5% damage to it...let me say that there is MORE than 5% damage/defects in this window and I still have some bubbles in the other windows and it's been a few weeks now. I have had multiple other cars with tint and have NEVER had this problem at all. Having a brand new car with crappy tint sucks. read more

Wouldn't touch ya with a 10 ft pole . I've hsd plenty of work done on my vehicles there and so have family and friends but after tonight's conversation I wouldn't go near you with a 10 ft pole . The thing I was having issue with was one of my leds I had bought from YOU and the YOU installed and is warrantee by YOU was flickering on the way to work early this morning and shutting off completely at times . I drive a really long way to work and it's usually in the dark so obviously lights are important. One of the two lights on the drivers side is not on . I called you and explained I need you to look at it for above said reasons. I spent 20 min on the phone why YOU couldn't do it . YOU said in the computer all it said was led install and that you were not even sure I bought them from you really ??? Great job of keeping record of what customers did or didn't buy from YOU. Your store and customer service are in shambles and blame all your problems on past employees to the customers, pretty sad and tacky . You should take ownership for running that franchise into the ground and not blame it on employees who no longer work there and can't defend their self . I work 10 hrs and can't just drop my car off and leave it there all day lol . The rude lady put me on hold for the 4 th time and a guy answered and asked if i wanted a Saturday appointment I can't because I work 2 jobs right now and I said I'll take me business to another shop and he rudely hung up on me . Speaking of other shops thank god there was one not far from your location actually 3.9 miles to be exact that stayed late unlike you to help me out and got me safely back on the road. They took the time not YOU .the lady on the phone at your place seems a little crazy . Js.
