So, this place has really high reviews and it absolutely deserves them. The selection is stunning. The care they provide for the fish, plants, and the overall organization and layout of the store is glorious. It is the kind of store you could find yourself popping into just to kill a little time, because it's lovely and the vibes are so nice. If you're an aquarist that dies a little inside everytime you see a betta being kept in someone's decorative antique thimble? Rest assured that their bettas are not kept in cups, but in lovely little temporary tank homes, that are all clean and well maintained. I didn't see a single betta that didn't pass the "curious, clear eyed, symmetrical, glide and dart" test. I also heard them teaching a couple about nitrogen cycling, tanks size, and letting them know that they really wouldn't advise buying their betta today. Though if you have the cash to burn they do have pre-cycled tanks ready for purchase. I've been here twice now. Once to get all the gear for my tank and fishless cycle, and then back about a month later to pick up my first betta, Mr. Pants. I'll be going back this weekend for a nerite snail, and the weekend after that for a couple of skrimps provided our betta accepts the snail w/o a fuss. So with all this glowing review, why only four stars and not five? Well, the service could me a smidge better. The lad that helped us on our first visit seemed like he really knew what he was doing, but was super awkward and really hard to talk to. We made it pretty clear that we were totally new to aquarium keeping, had nothing, and needed a full setup, but he left out several things we ended up finding out we needed. The most important of which was a water testing kit, which seems like the first thing that might come to mind if someone is buying all the stuff to do a fishless cycle? The guy that helped us out on our second visit was friendlier and easier to talk to, but did kind of seem like he was in a rush and helping us was a bit of a hassle, even though it was a Tuesday afternoon and there were like four people in the shop. I would normally grant space for a busy, popular store being perhaps understaffed, or overworked, but both times we went there were at least four employees on the floor, it was just that only one of them seemed to actually be there to assist customers. Anyway, none of that is enough to keep me from going back, obviously, but just know that you need to do your own research about what you need before going in, and be willing to overlook some less than stellar service. My go-to place for plants! Selection is usually great with a couple of misses occasionally. I will say that some of their bettas don't look super great at times. Last time I went they had one in the front in a super small tank (maybe 2 gallons?) and I hate that they have a sorority. Sororities are hard and almost always fail so I feel like that's a bit misleading. Customer service can be not so great at times. I don't think anyone has willingly asked if I needed help, I always have to chase someone down and feel like a bother. read more

I almost walked past this place since I thought it was a place for kids swimming lessons. But then I saw the fish tanks inside and decided to walk in. I'm glad I did because I needed a sunburst platy fish for a project. The staff was super helpful and friendly in helping me to find what I needed. After several years of using a fish store on Burnet and having fish after fish die which was unusual, but I thought maybe it was an issue with my tank, I tried tried Tiny Aquatics. I honestly got more fish at one time than I should have and not a single issue! The store was clean, smelled decent, staff was happy and joking around, in addition to them being genuinely nice and helpful. In 40 years of getting fish I have never before have I been told to not let light hit a fish bag on the way home, never. The store is also less expensive than the place I had been going. It's a shame that I forgot to take pictures, this place is absolutely worth it 1000%. Me and my friends traveled 1.5 hours to get here. Starting off they have multiple display community tanks with fish ranging from bettas, to glass catfish, to inverts. When you walk in on the left there are empty displays to show you what you can do it's smaller tanks; still on the left till the back of the store there are multiple tanks filled with everything you can imagine (all of which you can buy from). In the middle there's hardscaping (hard wood and rocks of varying sizes). There's also a handful of types of floaters in portion sizes. In the middle I also saw Indian almond leaves for 1$ a piece. Which is crazy. I found a large tank filled with snails nertiles and mystery of all shapes and sizes (of which I bought 3 mysteries 4$ a piece). On the back wall it's almost wall to wall of shrimp of all shapes and sizes. In the back middle is the area that you're gonna find all kinds of food (including hikari and bug bites), hides, pumps, and nano tanks. On the right in the back there's a wall of male bettas each in a 5 gal tank with plants in each. They all have the prices clearly displayed, and even have some interesting varieties (a few red galaxy bettas and even shorter variety fins). In this area you can also find betta specific gear such as hammocks and betta food. Throughout the store you will even find tanks filled with plants some aquatic some high humidity terrarium plants. Everything is reasonably priced the only thing I'll say is to at least bring 100$ because the variety of everything makes it hard to hold back and not buy everything in the store. What I bought: Guppy grass-10$ Cuttlefish bone-3$ Hikari Daphnia- 9$ Betta fish (yellow and white with a blue spot, named Ikeanator, IKEA for short)-25$ 3x mystery snails (Larry, Garry, and Annette)-4$ a piece 4x black kuhli loaches-5$ a piece ----------- I plan on going back when my new upcoming tank is done cycling. We have been absolutely blown away by this place. The prices and variety of fish are amazing. The extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff make it a very enjoyable experience. One of the small things I love about this place is the tags that have the price for each fish also label how big the fish will get. This is extremely helpful considering that they have some fish that I am not at all familiar with. This is great when considering potential over-stocking. Another thing I love is that their Betta selection is good, but each fish gets its own small tank with substrate. They aren't left in tiny cups that are otherwise empty. I'm SO happy we stumbled upon this amazing store! My daughter is wanting to start a fish tank and has been researching like crazy. We popped into Tiny Aquatics today and we were BLOWN AWAY by the amazing staff! Everyone was SO attentive and they educated us so much. They've started us on our journey and we can't wait until our new tank is cycled and ready for some fish!
