I would totally skip this establishment. They run through different groomers regularly and you never seem to have the same person for your dog. You will ask for the full package, but they will skip things like cleaning ears and trimming nails. But they will definitely charge you for it. Then they're completely rude when you call and ask about the lack of service. It's just another big box corporate chain that doesn't care about customers. read more

Maybe it's because I frequent my local Petco that I didn't realize how amazing PetSmart is! They have dog training, dog grooming, a dog hotel, and a pet hospital. As well ass all the other standard items like various pets, food, toys; etc. This PetSmart is a one stop shop for all things animal. I cannot think of a reason one would need to go anywhere else. I also really enjoy how spacious and organized this location is. Even with how many amazing things are inside there's still so much room to comfortably walk the aisles. It was also very clean and didn't have a strong odor which I find to be common in pet stores. We watched a dog trainer with a pup for a short while and she was so sweet and interactive with both the dog and my son watching through the window. My dog is 6 years old now (as of tomorrow) so I'm not in the market for dog training but I'd definitely recommend them to anyone else! read more

Loyal customer for 4+ years. Jen H is our usual groomer. She is fantastic with our dogs. She always takes her time too make sure that she understands what we need and delivers every time. I dropped our puppy off for grooming , my husband picked him up. My husband thought I paid and I assumed he paid at the store. LILY F the groomer called and I apologized sincerely and was ready to give her my card information on the phone. She thought she muted herself and began to call us f'in idiots and cussing about us to whomever she was speaking to. I politely apologized and was more than willing to give her my personal information on the phone to fix the issue, it was completely our fault. Twice now I've stopped at this PetSmart to look at / buy fish for my aquarium but ended up walking out. Yesterday, for example, I stopped on my way home to check out the fish. I picked out a couple fish & a 10-dollar ornament and just stood around. There were a couple of employees to aisle over stocking or something. Another employee came close to the fish area but only picked up some cardboard and walked away. I tried to get into her line of vision but she expertly avoided eye contact. I thought of going over to ask someone for help but didn't think it was my responsibility to drag someone over to assist me. It's unlikely I will give them a 3rd try. read more

This is the 2nd time I've "RSVP" to an event at this location for an event. Today was the Halloween Treats from 10 am - 6:00 p.m. I arrived at 12:48 p.m. after traveling 25 minutes to get there with two dogs. NO TREATS available...they ran out. This has happened before but at those they didn't do RSVP so thought they would be better prepared especially for an ALL Day event. I had two dogs in their costumes. First off, i feel icky leaving a bad review. I'm not a complainer and i've worked in customer service my whole life, so i get it. However this was my first experience at this location, and I don't think i'll be coming back. I have a small dog who has always gotten her grooming with Petsmart. I have on her profile that she has a slight heart murmur. Usually there's no problem given it's not even a medicated or major issue, just something to be aware of. Today I had to get off early from work in order to get my puppy to her appointment- morning appointments aren't really an option for me. I get there, I wait (and notice a lack of customer service, but hey it's hot out and some days i hate being at work too, so who cares) and speak with the lady who will groom my dog. To make a long story short she says she cannot take my dog because of the murmur. Apparently they only take them in the morning because it's an express appt, and she "doesnt have time" to groom my dog. I've never had morning appointments, so I thought that was odd. I had to leave as another dog was coming in, feeling disappointed and like I wasted losing 2 hrs of pay. I'd think you'd look over your appointments for the day and call if there's any concerns about what was written on the schedule. I get things happen, but mixed with the lack of customer service and no communication.. idk it just leaves me feeling not too hot. Update: Made a 6PM appt at another location. Called and made sure that'd be ok. Was told that it wouldn't be a problem and that my experience at the other location was strange given my dog is not on medication and won't require an express grooming for a mild concern. The staff that work at the counters are hit or miss. My review is specific to the PetsHotel. The staff there are attentive and wonderful. I'm most impressed by their attitude over the phone, check in and check out. I had an issue with my vaccine records and they were kind enough to call my vet and access them FOR me. One less thing I had to do to prepare for our trip. We love the hospitality they offer at this affordable and caring location. Great job to the team there! read more

The store on 35 round rock is a joke. Delivered the wrong items and supposedly resent them and they never showed up. Won't send them again. I made an appointment in the store on 11/21/25 to have my ShihTzu groomed. I was scheduled for 11/22/25 @ 9:00am. I had to be to work in South Austin at 10:00am. The lady that was in the store was very nice and even text the groomer who was assigned to groom my pup to let her know that I had made it there early. I waited for about 15minutes which was understandable since I had arrived early. When Angie the groomer for my pup entered the store she walked in with attitude and no smile on her face. When she approached me and my pup there was not a smile or any sign of friendliness as she says, "let's see if we can get this done today." I then asked, "what do you mean see if we can get this done?" She then says your dog is matted and we will have to charge you $204. Her unprofessional attitude and unfriendly demeanor immediately made feel like I did not want to deal with someone of her caliber. So I left and went to another Petsmart where I was quoted $150 for grooming services. I will never return to this Petsmart for grooming services. If you do choose this location please don't go to Angie. She is unfriendly, rude and unprofessional. I will be contacting corporate on Monday to formally file a complaint against her as well. read more

I come here with my 5yr old pup Haley! They now require appointments for the grooming salon. So call and make an appointment with the salon before you come in. Haley comes in for bimonthly (every 2 weeks) nail cut and grinding. She always is greeted with a smile from grooming staff, Ginger, and is treated very kindly. Nail trimming takes less than 10 minutes and they're always so professional and friendly. Haley doesn't use their other services (ie bath or hair cuts) so I can't say anything about those. I am sad for the staff working there, sad for the whole depressing vibe and toxic working environment there. I was told a 2cm goldfish needs a 50 gallon fish tank while the put hundreds of them in a 20 gallon tank, with several died fish body floating on the surface. I treated them as normally reasoning humans, told them once the fish gets bigger, I'll transfer them into bigger tank. Four years later and we are still taking our dogs to Petsmart. Today Christopher groomed them. Teddy just got a bath and scissor trim, but Toby got the lion cut and oh-my-God, he looks so stinkin' cute!! We've had all good groomers at this location, but Christopher was so professional and personable. We really liked him and plan to ask for him next time we go. I sent the below message to corporate and got nothing but call after call from the store manager. I don't care what they do on the location level. I want to know what they will do on the company level to prevent this. What happened with the employee who did this??? Are they looking into ALL locations and the quality of their kennels? This is just the type of thing I hear about when it comes to service at Petsmart and even Petco (but this isn't about them). They need to fix it on a company level. I messaged corporate again and they said to MAIL A LETTER to their corporate office. Well, here it is in the form of a review. "I brought my dog in to this Petsmart location early March. I get a call an hour later saying that he was injured from being shoved into one of your kennels and had a major laceration on his leg, enough to need surgery ASAP. Who are you hiring that SHOVES someone's pet like this? Clearly he didn't feel comfortable with the kennel or your employee, perhaps offer him a treat to lure him in or have some patience with a pet who is uncomfortable? According to your staff, there is a metal partition in the kennels to separate the pets that caused the injury. WHY is there even anything in there to begin with that could cause injury? The girl who took my dog to the back room had a bit of an attitude about me coming in late (I called ahead of time to ask if that was ok), my guess is she was the one who shoved my dog into the kennel. Low moral or just bad hires? Dogs have an intuition with our attitudes. Petsmart did pay for the Vet Hospital bill, and while we appreciate the stepping up to the plate, my sweet dog is injured, depressed and not acting like himself. That being said, I am very curious if there are cameras where you keep your kennels. To have gotten such a long jagged laceration, your employee without a doubt pushed and shoved the hell out of my 110lb dog to get him in the kennel. He has bad hips, so I'm sure having his butt being pushed hurt him, plus your employee with the bad attitude probably put him on edge. I hope Petsmart makes this right and STARTS changing how they treat customer's family members. Otherwise, you really shouldn't be in the business of pet care. This PetSmart was pretty clean when I went in, which is impressive for a pet store. The product selection is also extensive and well stocked. Unfortunately, there was no way I could find anyone to help me. Sometimes, this is the difference between an efficient shopping trip and a frustrating waste of time. Other times, this is the difference between a business keeping or losing my business. Making a purchase was absolutely necessary on this trip, so they got my cash but not a happy customer. One thing I noticed as I walked around searching for my items was an employee reading a magazine rather than supervising the dogs in doggy daycare. Two of the dogs looked on the verge of fighting and she didn't notice at all. I'm guessing there's a rule regarding phone use, but I don't think going old school with a magazine should be allowed either. Keep the dogs safe PetSmart! read more

I took my 10 year old Great Pyrenees in for a bath and brushing... I spent at least 10 minutes clarifying what I wanted and insisted that I did not want his mane or skirts removed.... Pyrs grow their manes like lions; over their lifetime. They butchered his mane and his skirts are gone! He will never recover either in his remaining lifetime. I am HORRIFIED with what they did to his beautiful, majestic coat. Do not take your dog here unless all you want is a wash or if your dog has a single length coat. They have no idea what they are doing when it comes to dogs who have multi-length hair. And they do NOT listen. Beware!! read more

Shame on you PetSmart, this type of neglect is unacceptable. Had 2 staff members tell me he was fine and that he was normal. There is obviously something terribly wrong with his skin. Neither of the two employees even entertained the idea that he may be sick even after I told them that he looked very sick. They just told me well if he gets sick (he already is btw) bring him back we'll send him to the vet. Fair enough. Took him home anyway to see if I could help him plus I figured the only way he will receive veterinary attention is if I buy him and return him. Fast forward to now. I went to return him so they could take him to the vet. I asked the manager if when he got back they were going to sell him back at the price I bought him, she told me she couldn't guarantee it. I told her so basically if he comes back and they are selling for 30 I have to buy him for 30? Sounds to me like I'm going to be paying for vet bills if that happens. I also mentioned that there was a side neck in the same tank that looked just as sick and asked that they strongly considered taking it to the vet also. I also told her I would be back to see if they actually took both turtles to the vet or just put them back up for sale. I've never really had bad things to say about any Petsmart but this one really pissed me off with their lack of education on what a sick reptile looks like. read more

I've had the greatest experience taking my boy Dallas here! Dallas goes to daycare 2-3 times a week and he's always exhausted afterwards. Would give zero stars if I could. We have tried the Doggy Day camp service at this location twice and most recently the grooming service once and we will NEVER be back! The first try at the doggy day camp we dropped our 8 month old lab off for a few hours and when we picked him up instead of him being in the play room he was in the back in a kennel. Second chance this last weekend we needed a bath after a day at the dog park. He couldn't be seen for grooming and after the disappoint from the first day camp we had been offered a free stay at the day camp to redeem themselves. We get a call that our dog is ready for pick up and we were told to get him at the doggy hotel. When we got there the girl couldn't find our dog for like 5 min (while I'm about to have a panic attack and my boy friend is about to yell at someone for losing our dog). Then we get home and after paying $40 dollars for a bath-there is dirt ALL OVER our white dog's stomach. They only washed one side of the dog. Did they think e wouldn't notice dirt on our white dog?!? This is the absolute worst service we have ever received at a Petsmart. At this point I haven't consulted management as it is the weekend. But if they don't give us a full refund we take even our pet supply needs elsewhere. I can get our dog food on Amazon and free delivery! read more

Call out for Katrina at Petsmart in Round Rock!!! Normally I'm not into corporate businesses like this, but I've always had great results with specific Petsmart groomers. We hadn't been in for a while with the pandemic and then an unfortunate weather event that closed the store for a period of time. After a death in our smol pack earlier this year, I realized my one remaining boi had been neglected and needed the full spa treatment. I was ELATED to find our groomer, Katrina, was back in action and so quickly available! There was definitely an adjustment in his first visit back, but we LOVE LOVE LOVE that KATRINA didn't hold that against him (or me) and loved on my boy the way she always has and took care for of him like a mama would. He needed a lot of downtime afterwards, which is somewhat a usual thing, but he's clearly feeling better and happy to have all of his bits and pieces back in a more orderly fashion! We love you Katrina! Marty and I know how much you love him! And we love you just as much...or more! read more

The first picture (on the left) was when I first dropped her off at PetSmart... the second picture (on the right) is when I picked her up. Yesterday afternoon, I pulled into Round Rock, TX imagining how excited my pups would be when they saw me.. Well that's sadly, not how my story goes.. While I was out of town, I left Lady (my lab mix) at PetSmart in Round Rock's PetsMotel. I even paid a little extra for her to get her own suite because it had more room and she had never been boarded up while I went on vacation before. I called while I was out of town to make sure she was okay and enjoying herself. Every single time I called the employees told me she was perfectly fine and happy, they were totally lying to me. When I picked her up from PetSmart she was supposed to be bathed and have her nails grinded. I noticed when I picked her up that her nails were grinded, her coat was damp from a bath, but something was off.. While Lady stayed at PetSmart, she got "happy tail." Which caused the tip of her tail to bleed from being too happy and wagging it too much in a small space. As I got in my car to leave, I noticed how bloody it was and got heated. I could tell that her bloody open wound on her tail had been a scab that had been reopening over and over. There is a vet in the same PetSmart as the one my pup was at but they didn't tend to my dog, bandage the wound, or clean it. My poor dog had been sitting in that room for about 5 days miserable, bleeding, and no one at their store was honest with me over the phone and told me what was going on. They also never gave her the treats I brought for her or gave her the toys I also brought for her. Makes me wonder if she actually was put in a doggie suite or they threw her in a regular kennel like the other dogs... Anyways, after spending 45 minutes at the vet Lady ended up having to get two shots and was put on antibiotics because PetSmart failed to tend to my dog while she was bleeding and had an open wound under their watch. In the end the vet bill was around $220 and PetSmart paid for it but that still doesn't change what happened. I hope my post helps someone in the future when they're deciding where they want to board up there dog while they're on vacation. Note to self: Never leave your dog at Petsmart again. read more

Took my dog to get a bath and a sanitary trim on New Year's Eve. I called and they said it was ok to bring her in as a walk in which was great! The girls were kind enough to take her back and did the bath and a light shave for her sanitary area. Took only about 1.5 hours from drop off to pick up. Our dog was soft and lovable when i picked her up. They give you a little report card that indicates skin, coat, ears, nails, teeth, and anal glands. It also includes a few coupons which is nice. Only thing that bummed me out was that when i picked her up the anal glands expression that i verified was part of the service (and listed on their website) was marked other. I asked the groomer why it was marked other and she said she didn't do the anal gland expression and didn't offer much of a reason other than i didn't explicitly state it to her. It's part of the service and listed as such... still a little confused why they just skipped it all together. read more

Absolutely the worst service. I went to the store yesterday and apparently I was inconveniencing the associates because I had questions about the fish. The older woman named sharon or shannon kept snapping at my questions. She made it very clear she thought I was an idiot and she had better things to do.When I walked away she proceeded to make fun of me to the other associates who were working on a shipment of fish. Honestly if you are going to treat people like trash then DON'T work in customer service. One of the rudest B'S I have ever encountered!
