    Plain chocolate birthday cake.
    KariSue F.

I ordered a cake for my daughter's 6th birthday and had just an awful experience trying to get this cake. I'm really disappointed with my communication with Sabrina. I was under the impression that I could pick it up by noon of the day we needed it, Sabrina even said so in an email, but by 11:30 she had refunded me and stopped all communication. I was walking out the door when this happened. I am very disappointed and now there is a 6 year old that is very disappointed. I even called Sabrina to try and work something out, but she is ignoring my calls and not willing to work with me for some reason. I will never order another cake from this company ever again if this is how they treat their customers. 3 stars only because we do cake club and that has been great. UPDATE: I don't know what is wrong with this baker. For my last cake club order she dropped off my daughter's birthday cake completely plain, no decorations 4 days after her birthday. No note, no apology, nothing. If she would have just apologized it wouldn't be writing this review. If you can't face your mistakes then you have no business running a business.

Our custom made cockroach cake! Exactly what we asked for

Couldn't be more thrilled with this bakery! Last year for my daughters 4th birthday she made the (fun and bizarre) request to have a cockroach themed birthday. Sabrina came through with the most incredible, realistic, cockroach cake! My daughter still talks about it and the guests were so impressed. Wonderful artistry and delicious cake too. Highly recommend for your most unique custom cakes!

Pastries here are fantastic!…read more My husband and I parked in the parking garage and we really appreciate that if you support one of the businesses with any purchase you input your license plate and get 3 hours validated parking! Also a bonus because the day we came was also the farmers market! Service was welcoming and friendly! They had a few tables with seating inside. We got the raspberry ribbon croissant and egg tart! Wish I had more tummy space to try more items because these pastries were delicious!

It was pretty easy to make a cake order and the writing was free, unlike online where it says $5 for writing. When I got the cake, I was a bit disappointed. The writing had bled onto the cake, there was a crack in the frosting and it appeared that the frosting at the bottom leaned piped to the board instead of the cake. I didn't bother mentioning this at pick up because it didn't seem like the worker was also the cake person. The cake itself was a tad dry but light and airy. For the price I paid, I was disappointed by the outcome. Even if it was due to additional cake orders due to mother's day, I do expect better than this when I buy a cake from a local bakery. Also if you like crispy croissants, I do not recommend the Sichuan pepper cruffin. It was tasty but it didn't have the crisp that you'd expect from a bakery.

Why does Mercer Island have an abundance of fantastic bakeries?…read more La Fete is a petite pastry / coffee shop that has amazing pastries. The earlier you come the more likely you will get to eat the delicious pastries, but if you come past 11 AM you likely won't find much. Their croissants are always on the menu, but many of their pastries are seasonally available so you have to come back. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but those pastries are amazing. The staff here are so nice too! Super tolerant as my indecision took over my brain seeing so many pastries! I think not having anyone behind me helped with that - a rare slow moment - because once the door opened I waved the white flag, asked them to pick me 3 of their favorites and off I went. The only problem with that is I can't recall the names of what I bought. The croissant, easy. The little puffy pastry with big sugar flakes and apricot that was very light? No clue except it was delicious.

They also have small baguette sandwiches that I'd like to try next time. There was tons of traffic on a weekday morning. Great place for catching up with someone.

Fresh Breads: The baguettes and fresh breads were perfectly baked--wonderfully crisp on the outside and soft inside. My only regret was not picking up a few extra loaves to take home. S'mores Supreme Croissant: Hands down my nephew's absolute favorite! It looked incredible and tasted even better. Next time, I am definitely getting one just for myself. Assorted Macarons Box: I bought a 12-piece box of assorted macarons as a gift for family we were visiting, and it didn't even make it past the first seating! The whole box was polished off instantly because every flavor was fantastic. Family-Friendly Atmosphere: The café seating area is super cozy and welcoming. My nephew had such a great time coloring at the tables that he didn't want to leave--he just wanted to stay and pick out more snacks! We had such a wonderful experience here. I can't wait to come back on our next visit to try out their specialty coffee and drink menu! Highly recommended if you're in the Redmond area.

It was fresh and delicious! It hit the spot for you Ube lovers! I also tried their Croissant Donut in which they were flaky and airy at the same time. The cream on top ties it all together. The pastries I tried had the perfect balance in sweetness and flavor! I want to come back to try more pastries, their lattes and drinks! This place is spacious with a lot of tables and chairs. Now it does get busy. So that tells me that their pastries and drinks must be good! The decor here is really nice and it has a chill vibe. I see a lot of people here to hangout with friends and also I see young professionals studying/working on their laptops while enjoying a coffee and pastries. The employees there were very friendly and they recommend a few things for my wife and I to try! I will come back and try some more things!

The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. There was a TON of almond filling in the middle. I enjoyed the taste and texture but it was too much filling for me personally. I would have liked more croissant in my croissant, so to say haha. The chocolate was slightly dark which worked well with the sweet pastry and filling! Overall I enjoyed the croissant but it was a tad too heavy on the filling and cripsy/crunchy for me.
