This was the second time I have visited Kaanapali and the second (and third) time diving with Tim and Tiny Bubbles Scuba. My wife and I dove with him and two other gentlemen at Airport beach for a morning dive and Tim, as always, was extremely professional and courteous. He is very calm and ensures everyone is comfortable prior to diving and provides many tips and tricks both above and below the water. In fact, I have been using his secret de-fog formula since first diving with him in 2016, it is the best stuff ever and cheap and easy to make. Later in the week on this trip, I decided to take Tim up on an offer for a night dive in Kaanapali. This dive ranks as my favorite dive ever! We saw so much and Tim was an excellent guide as we navigated the darkness and was sure to point out every cool thing he saw underwater. I already knew Tim was an exceptional person, let alone a great scuba guide, but what really set him apart is how he treated my family prior to the night dive. My daughter is just shy of 10 and was very upset that she couldn't go as she wants to get certified too. Tim took the time to explain to her the process or getting certified and how he can't wait until we can all dive together. We did a shore dive, out about 600-1000 yards, with depths of 10-35 feet. The reef is in pretty good shape. We saw lots of sea life, including turtles and barracuda. The owner, Tim, is the consummate professional and a master of customer service. His communication before and during the dive was simply amazing. My fiance and I did a discovery scuba dive last week with Barry, and we really couldn't be happier with the experience. We were expecting to be part of a group lesson, but it turned out it was just the two of us plus Barry, which was great because neither of us had been diving before and we were able to get tons of individual attention. I tend to be kind of an anxious person and was a little nervous at first, so I was grateful for how slowly and methodically he took us through the process of learning to dive. We started with a short lecture and then a couple of lessons in the hotel pool first, where Barry taught us the basics before going for real in the ocean. I had a little moment of panic in the pool, and he could not have been kinder or more patient with me as he helped me practice again the technique that I'd had trouble with. In all, we spent about two hours getting our gear right, learning, and practicing before leaving for the ocean dive. We each got one full tank to use in the ocean, and they let you stay down until you reach the warning line on the meter. So the slower you breathe, the longer you get to stay. We were down about an hour, but it did not feel that long! The conditions that day could not have been better, and we saw tons of fish, coral, and a turtle. Plus we could hear humpbacks singing almost the whole time. It was magical. Barry was just the perfect instructor, occasionally checking in, reminding us to equalize, adjusting the amount of air in our vests, and checking the air levels in our tanks. He keeps a little underwater notepad with him so he can write notes to you, and he let us know partway in that we were doing great. He even encouraged us to do underwater flips, which wouldn't have occurred to me on my own but was really fun! He also took over 100 pictures and videos of us and the wildlife, which we were happy to buy from him afterward in addition to his tip. They were much higher quality than anything we would have taken with our own little underwater camera. All in all, I can't think of a single way I would improve our experience. If you're going to Maui and considering diving for the first time, I can't recommend Barry and Tiny Bubbles enough! read more

We got a recommendation from one of the regular divers to reach out to Tiny bubbles scuba, which we did, and are extremely happy to get certified with them! All 4 ocean dives were with Tim. Staying 3 doors down from the Tiny Bubbles dive shop I wanted to go out for a dive. I talked to Tim and set up a time for 8:00 a.m the next day. Showed up with my divers certification card and went for a beach dive. Not knowing what to expect from a beach dive compare to a boat dive. I had to say it was fun and I had a great time. Great experience diving with Tiny Bubbles! I was staying at Maui Eldorado, a few miles away from their shop and did a couple of morning shore dives with them. I went not with Tim, but with the other instructor whose name I forgot (must be Robert). He was extremely nice, attentive and helpful! First dive was more of a refresher dive, but on second day we went with scooters and it was great! Each time we were done by 10am and I could go spend the rest of the day with my wife who was just waking up by that time. I highly recommend Tiny Bubbles Scuba! I did a intro dive with Rob Groh and it was really awesome. This was my first dive in Maui, I had done intro dives in cancun in the past but this by far was the best. I was so lucky to be with Rob and his attention to details, from the poolside lesson, to into the pool to the drive out to Canoe Beach for the dive. Luck was with me as I was the only one on this dive so it was a solo guided dive for the price of a group. I will recommend Tiny Bubbles to anyone that wants to dive Maui. One thing or I should say one of the many things that impressed me about Rob was his care for the ocean, on the dive he stopped to pick up trash we found on the bottom and packed it out, he took a couple minutes to remove a huge ball of fishing line and hooks from some coral. A true sign of his caring for the environment and the creatures that live here. Some highlights, hearing the whales song underwater, playing with a octopus, and if you have never seen them squirt ink you would be amazed at the amount they squirt. I researched all the places in the Lahaina area to have my 13 year old daughter certified for Open Water SCUBA. I found Tim's company Tiny Bubbles and we shared a few emails and I decided to use them to have her certified. What I liked 1) her dives would be private - just my daughter, her instructor, and me (already certified). 2) they were really flexible and communicative 3) Price - not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. Once we arrived, we met Robert who was to be my daughter's instructor. She had completed her classroom and pool work at home so she only had to complete her 4 ocean dives. We got all the paperwork in order and headed out to Airport Beach. Robert spent lots of time explaining what she would be doing on the dive and made sure she understood. We got suited up and headed out. What was great about her doing a private certification was that for each dive, there was only about 5-10 minutes of certification requirements and the rest of the dive was spent enjoying the dive. Quite different from my experience where I had to wait around alot while the others completed their requirements. On our second day, my daughter had some issues clearing her ears on our first dive. Robert offered to delay our second dive that day to later in the week to make sure it was more enjoyable. I really appreciated that. Had we been on a boat, it probably would not have been possible. We finished up her last dive a few days later and two days after that we received her email certification from PADI. All in all diving with TB was a great experience and I would highly recommend them for certification or even if you just wanted to enjoy a nice shore dive in Ka'anapali. read more

We came across Tiny Bubbles Scuba on a recent stay at Kaanapali Beach Club. Am a certified diver but had not gone diving for 5 years so was a bit rusty. Tiny Bubbles is fully stocked with all the gear I needed. Robert my dive instructor was totally great, we did a refresher practice dive in the pool and then we went on a beach dive. We dove about 50 yards off of Kaanapali Beach in approx. 35 feet of water, fish turtles and a wonderful time. Robert was there with me every step of the way and would highly suggest for beginners though experience divers. Robert also told me there are a few other dive sites on the island as well. read more

A couple weeks ago I decided to take my boyfriend on his first dive and he LOVED it! Tim gives you a quick low down of the rules, equipment, and safety instructions. Then he suits you up and you get to practice in the pool your equalizing, breathing and under water communication- all of which Tim breaks it down for you so no need to get nervous or have seconds thoughts about being 30 below! After you've mastered the pool, he takes you to the ocean. He knows all the good spots to find turtles, octopus, and even reef sharks! We got caught up in 2 schools of fish and swam with too many turtles to count! I can't express enough how great of an instructor Tim is! If you want an upgrade from snorkeling this is a must! My wife and I had such a great experience with Tiny Bubbles on our honeymoon. This is a really late post! but we havent forgotten the lifelong memory we made going scuba diving for our first time. It was on our last day out in Hawaii. This was back in 2014 :/ please forgive me for waiting so long to make a review. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an extreme value on their trip or vacation with the family. Not gonna lie, the price was pretty high, but isn't everything in Hawaii or when you travel for that matter!? and thats coming from a newly married couple just starting out. Comparatively, the price was great. The other options such as parasailing, jet skiing, and other activities ranged around the same price, for an activity that takes about 30 minutes or less. We had training that I believe lasted about 1.5 to 2 hours. and then we were out in the water for about an hour. Tiny Bubbles is interactive and a fun way to learning how to scuba dive. He goes through all of the training procedures. Something i found interesting was that in order to go down further, you have to breathe out. That doesnt sound to crazy, but when you are 20 feet under water, and breathing out to sink more made me a bit nervous at first, but i got the hang of it and really enjoyed my time. We saw a really big turtle and many schools of fish. Most importantly, I saw my wife enjoying herself. I really think that it was one of things that made her trip. My 30 yr old son & I recently did four beach dives with Tim and they were all great! Every time we went in, Tim was showing us (non-invasively) marine life that we would have otherwise missed. With his underwater slate, then he would tell us what we were looking at. This underwater paradise is Tiny Bubbles' home and what I saw is Tim touching or disturbing next to nothing. It was obvious to me that he has a great amount of respect for the environment. And boy, did we ever see and learn a lot. Tiny Bubbles is one of the best operators for Scuba that I've experienced. Tim and his wife are excellent guides. Tim took my dive partner and me on 3 guided dives including beach, scooter and night dives. My parents (in their 60s) snorkeled with Tim's wife as the guide on the surface above us for the beach dive. If you are not experienced, I highly suggest going with a guide and you won't go wrong with Tiny Bubbles. The services go above what most operators will do. From gear fitting, gear checking, and the fresh towel after the dive, you will be pleased. The bathrooms and hot tub are right there at the resort for your use. The outdoor bar has food for dinner after diving. This is a nice place to catch the sunset after diving as well. We especially enjoyed the pictures they took of our dives and my parents snorkeling. You will see many many turtles at the "cleaning station" right in front of Tiny Bubbles. Plus many eel and fish. read more

I was working on my qualification dives to get scuba certified and was pretty nervous. Tim helped ease my concerns and make my 4 dives with him fun and exciting. He spent the perfect amount of time with us making sure we were comfortable, then took us on an amazing dive where we saw beautiful coral, tons of fish playing and saw maybe 6 sea turtles. My first time scuba diving, Tim was really nice and fun to deal with. He clearly loves to scuba dive and it's always nice to feel like someone is taking you along to do something they really enjoy as opposed to giving a boring tour they've done too many times. It ended up being a small group, just my dad, me and Tim. He has a camera with a wide lens and a flash that he holds in the other hand, he'll take a bunch of great pictures and for a fee will mail you a disc of all the images. The underwater time was 55 minutes for us and the max depth was 34' average was probably 20-25'. We saw a ton of sea turtles and got plenty of cool pictures with them! If there's the opportunity he'll present you with something to hold and take a picture for you. I had a great experience and would go back to him again if I return to Maui. The intro dive starts with a short lesson/lecture on the basics and then he takes you in the pool to try everything and make sure you have the basics down. Tim is a very competent and aware diver who won't get you in past your comfort level. Highly recommend for first time divers! I can only imagine he would be fun to dive with if you were more experienced as well as Hawaii has some great places he could take you. read more

My friend Alice and I became certified divers under Tim Rollo's excellent tutelage. He is a patient teacher with a sense of humor. These guys are awesome! The day I arrived for my scooter dive the surf was pretty high. After a short discussion Robert said we could try and make it out to the reef. After fighting our way through the waves to the dive site the visibility was poor so we had to abandon the dive. Although getting back to shore through the large wave was a sketchy to say the least Robert was in control and confident throughout the entire experience. Once back at the shop Robert assured me that we would be able to do a make up dive in the next few days before I left the island, even if that meant him coming in on his day off. Tim contacted me the following day to let me know Robert would meet me at the shop the next morning for the dive. Needless to say the scooter dive was amazing and everything worked out great!! I was very frightened about diving, even though I have a lot of snorkeling experience. Robert at Tiny Bubbles was really great at helping me get the knowledge I needed to safely try diving. Also, he was understanding and careful so when we went diving in the ocean, I felt pretty comfortable that any issue I had would be addressed. Despite my initial reservations, I was able to have a great time and Robert knew where to find turtles, octopus, etc. I really appreciated the way this company allows you to take a rain check and try again if the visibility on a given day is poor.
