This place is perfect for little kids younger than 7 I would say. I went with my 2 year old daughter and my 2.5 year old niece. It was perfect for them. They loved the train ride and running around all the tiny houses. We were there for about an hour and a half. We probably would have stayed longer, but we needed to get back home for nap time. There are plenty of shaded areas, so it's easy to find a place to cool off when it's hot. It's a great place to go to for a different play date. read more

She was almost 4 at the time, and it was perfect for her age! She had to take her time inspecting and commenting on every single building. Tiny Town is a literal tiny town in Morrison. The history, I believe, goes something like a gold miner with a family originally built it for his daughter so she'd have a place to play. Naturally, any family would enjoy a small town area full of doll-sized houses and play things so it became quite popular with children coming to visit quite often. Eventually it became such a big attraction that the miner gave it up to be run as an amusement area. Over the past 100 years it's been flooded, shut down, rebuilt, and passed onto various groups and today it lives on as a newer set of buildings with a few of the old ones set out for kids to explore. There is also a kids playground area, a snack area (with soft-serve ice cream!), and a coal-burning train that takes you on a tour around the entire grounds for $2 a person at a slooooooow speed. My one year old loves this place. He thinks it's the coolest thing ever that the buildings are his size. You can't go into them - they are most doll-sized buildings, but that doesn't seem to affect his joy upon seeing row after row of small stores, saloons, and homes. And the playground is fun, too. I can't imagine kids older than 6 or 7 enjoying a visit here, but then again I don't have any kids that age so who am I to say so? I know that as a grown up I found it entertaining and worth the $5 admission price. While I wouldn't necessarily rush here every week with my kiddo I'd be inclined to come back every once in a while to visit Tiny Town. It's cute. read more

Everything is Tiny Town is well.... tiny. The town consists of 200+ miniature structures (homes, salons, general stores, bars, churches etc) and a miniature steam engine rail. The train takes you through the hillside. Adults can ride the train, but there are a few carriages that only fit kids. If you have kids visiting that you have no idea what to do with, take them to Tiny Town for a day of fun. read more

With four kids in tow, I went to Tiny Town. My two young kids loved this place, as well as the two older kids (9-10). It's very reasonably priced, from the gate admission to the train tickets. The train ride is stated to last 9 minutes, and it takes you around the whole area. There are a ton of things to see, including hidden gems in various places, like in the trees. After the train ride, we walked out to the playground, looking at the multitude of buildings as we passed them. There were plenty of picnic tables to sit and have lunch. A lot of trees provided a good amount of shade, too. It was really nice to be able to sit and relax while the kids released their pent-up energy on the playground. There are four swings, a large play structure and a smaller play structure. We were there for nearly two hours, which wasn't enough time to go and look at all the stuff available. We didn't get a chance to sample any of the foods or peruse the gift shop. I look forward to coming back again, which we will hopefully get to this summer. read more

One of the best $10 bills I have ever spent when it comes to good family time in the sun! I try to get the kids out and about on Saturdays rather than holed up near a television screen, and since none of us (including myself) have ever been to Tiny Town I figured the time had come. Me + 3.5 yr old + 1.5 yr old = $8 to get in. SOLD! Another $2 for train tickets for me and the 3.5 yr old... SOLD again! My son was tha-rilled when he got to ride on an actual steam engine kiddie train, so much so that I sprung yet another $2 to get us a 2nd ride on the steam engine train. The tiny neighborhoods are so cute, and some of them are open to where the shorties can crawl/walk in where adults can't follow - a winning solution for both parties. :) I did have to get a little inventive to get my 1.5 yr old out of the mini-firehouse, but it gave the kids huge laughs so win-win. There is a great playground area at the east end of the park, with equipment of various heights/sizes so both my kids had a blast on stuff that fit them. We camped out by a park bench and munched on some provisions I had brought, took the last train ride and made our way home. Not sure how much concessions cost, since we brought our own, but it was an excellent and inexpensive little outing for all of us! read more

Tiny Town is even better than I remembered it from my childhood! This is a super place to take young children. My 2-year-old daughter had an absolute blast and just loved it. The prices here are very reasonable. We had two adults plus the toddler. Admission and a train ride for all of us came to only $14!!! We spent a good two hours here just walking around and enjoying it all. The volunteers and employees here were all really nice. The train ride was great. They also have a lot of nice tables in the shade for a picnic lunch. We didn't eat here or bring food, but I was surprised at how reasonably priced the food was here (basic stuff like hotdogs, soda, etc, but it was pretty cheap). Next time, I'd bring a picnic lunch and then get the little one an ice cream cone for $2! What a great way to spend the day. It's only about 20 minutes from Denver. You can't beat the price. Seeing Tiny Town through a 2-years-old's eyes made it even more awesome. I give it five stars all around for a good family time, great prices, fun train ride and enjoyable time. A mini version of Colorado history. This place makes me feel like a kid again. $5 gets you in to look at the Tiny Town. $15 gets you a ride on the tiny train and a visit to the town. A local called this place creepy but what can I say, I'm easily amused. It's tucked away on a weird road, but if you're from out of town, especially with a family, this is a place for the whole family. I don't think I'd visit it again, but if you're looking for something unique and off the beaten path, check out TinyTown. Be cautious when you're driving here though because there's a weird curvy turn you need to take to get into the town. read more

While driving on a road trip I saw a sign that said 'Tiny Town' I asked my friend if that was a real place... or just a town name. She said it literally was a... tiny town, so we promised to check it out at a later date. We came here with our 19 month old and his older brother ( 8 years old) early one Saturday morning. It was a short ride, and a easy one at that. Tickets were just a few bucks, and train ride was about $2.00 too... I wasn't prepared for this visit as well as I would have liked, but I'll tell you what I would have done differently too. I would have packed a picnic lunch for the kids ( I didn't). I would then spend some more time up there, after looking at all the cool little houses and buildings... like a mini Home Depot, FedEx, Post office... school house... movie theater.. oh and Harley Davison store... I would sit and let them eat and spend some time playing at the playground. Then when we were done, we would walk back through this super cool Tiny Town, and take a ride on the train before we left. The train ride was cool, and only about 9 minutes... however the smoke was.... a bit overwhelming ... I would also get there early when its cooler so that I can truly enjoy spending all that time outdoors with the baby . We literally went through it in less than an hour, and was gone before an hour and a half. I think had I planned better and brought lunch, we could have stretched it out another hour or so. This is the kind of place you pair with another trip in the area, maybe do some hanging out at Red Rocks, or spend some time in Downtown Morrison.. and then it would be a complete day out :) read more

A disappointing trip overall. My kids didn't seem to notice, but the buildings are in dire need of maintenance. There's a lot of peeling paint and chipped wood, and some of the buildings look to be on the verge of collapse. The real disappointment was that we weren't able to ride the train. We arrived at 3:30, and the sign said last ride at 3:45 (closing time is 5:00). The young lady selling tickets told me that the last train had just left. We went in anyway and five minutes later, we saw another train leave with room for more passengers . But it was too late to buy tickets and board. So frustrating! read more

You can see everything from the road as you drive bye, but it is definately worth the stop, don't be cheap. It is world famous! read more

I wouldn't call this place a tourist trap, due to the negative connotations, but it's similar to that on so many levels. We ended up here on an afternoon drive and, let me tell you, it was pretty fun. Our first order of business was to ride the mini steam train. They actually burn coal on the steam train, just like they did in the old days, and boy does that stuff stink. I can't imagine living in a time when coal was king... PEEE-YOO! My son had a great time running from tiny building to tiny building, and the pathway ends at a playground, where all the kids were running about, being kids, getting worn out before the drive back to town. This place was a bit strange, in that the entrance and concession stand were both cash only, but the gift shop accepts credit cards. In this day and of plastic debit, it's a little odd to see a place that's cash only, but it happens. I'm pretty sure, though, that I've never been to a place where it was cash only *unless* you were buying tchotchkes although, if you could only have a credit card terminal in one place, it makes sense that one place would be where the most expensive purchases will be. Overall, an enjoyable visit. But be sure to hit the ATM on your way out of town. read more

5 stars, for people with young children. People without kiddos would probably not find this place nearly as awesome as people with kids. We went up there today with our almost-2 year old daughter. She had a BALL. Everything was just her size, she loved going into and out of the buildings, and she loved the train. The place was big enough to keep a kid entertained for hours, but not big enough that it was hard to get around. We didn't bring the stroller, because this place was so interactive. It also wasn't crowded, although I'd imagine it gets more crowded in the summer months. This would be a wonderful place for grandparents to bring the grandkiddos. I'd definitely recommend it for any kids up until around 6 or 7. There was a tiny gift shop and snack bar, but we didn't venture over to try any of it (the child wouldn't sit still long enough to eat, anyway!). The train engineers are volunteers and obviously get a kick out of driving the trains for the kids- they were very grandfatherly, and our daughter loved them! read more

Tried to visit on Friday July 2nd. Called two times to confirm times of operation.. Website indicates open daily "weather permitting". It had sprinkled earlier so wanted to confirm. No one answered the phone either attempt. Made the trip (based on no rain and "open daily" info. When we arrived at 3:00 p.m. it was sunny but the girl was locking the door and going home. Three cars of families, two of us from out of state), were standing there shocked that it was sunny and during normal business hours and she was closing! Then, it gets better, on Tuesday-our last day in Denver- we again tried to call and surprise, surprise, no one answered the phone. Save your money, this business doesn't care if you come or not. We took the kids here last weekend and had such a great time. My 4 year old enjoyed looking into the smallest building and loved the larger ones that she could go into. The train ride was fun and the onsite playground located near the picnic tables allowed us to enjoyed a picnic lunch while the kids played. Some of the buildings are a little rundown but we saw people working on restoration. My only wish is that there was a small display about the history of tiny town for parents. Tiny town has such a long and interesting history and I think having this information more available there would add something for the adult visitors. read more

Tiny Town is a gem of the past when roadside attractions were the best! Gravity houses, World's largest groundhog, Jellystone, none compare to the marvel of Tiny Town. Arriving with my boys, ages 6 & 3, I was immediately impressed by the friendly ticket booth worker and found myself pleasantly surprised the remainder of our visit by the geniality of the train engineers, the relative variety of activities, and the cleanliness of the grounds. A number of the "buildings" have seen better days and aren't impressive by the standard of, say, Disneyland. But as a local diversion at a reasonable cost Tiny Town & Railroad is well worth the time. I did see a couple that did not appear to be paid employees working on one of the small buildings, cleaning the inside and otherwise attending to its maintenance. To expand on some details and reinforce what you may read or see in the photos, the overall facility is larger than I expected and how appeared from the road. There is a nice area with picnic tables shaded by tall pine trees, as well as another area with tables and benches adjacent to the playground (another pleasant, and very welcome, surprise.) There is actually a bit of history to Tiny Town, and if you're inclined to be interested in such things as I am, don't miss the photographs documenting key moments on large outdoor displays in the tall pines across the main path near the picnic tables. The main path iteself is asphalt (wood plank near the train depot/gift shop) which I would imagine makes it very accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, though there are some things that are surrounded by by dirt, rocks, or grass, a detail that might matter if you are visiting soon after a heavy rain or early in the year, since mud could be factor. Along those lines, the (free) parking is mostly dirt with one main cement path leading the crosswalk that takes you across a 2-lane backroad to the entrance to Tiny Town. I didn't visit the concession stand during our visit. It does appear outside food & drink is permitted from observing other guests with coolers. All said, from this initial visit I highly recommend Tiny Town & Railroad for families and visitors looking for a low-key, reasonably-priced local attraction. read more

This place is cute. It's located in the beautiful mountains, and it's the perfect size, not too big, not too small. Perfect for preschool age kids. According to the train conductor, there are about 130 structures, but the majority of them are not play structures, only for looking at. There's a playground at the end of the park, and plenty of shaded park benches and picnic tables. Lots of people bringing coolers. Yeah, bring your own food because the food for sale there is limited, mostly hot dogs and ice cream. No, no fries or nuggets. read more

Me and the girlfriend had to burn some time before another scheduled outdoor activity we wanted to do. We consulted Yelp and we found Tiny Town. We are definitely kids at heart, so we said, "Why not?" The location was not difficult to find. Plus, free parking! There is a small entrance fee, a little more if you want to ride the train. The place is a tiny town. Literally. There are small buildings, most of them you can look inside and see the time they invested to make the tiny buildings appear like there are small residents. There was this school with old school desks, a bar with Barbies sitting on their Ken's lap, and if I am not mistaken, another Ken is doing a surgery in a tiny hospital. My favorite building was the little windmill with all the kids playing on it and parent's taking pictures of their babies. They also have a play ground, just in case the kids need to burn off some ice cream that can be purchased near the gift shop. What makes this place so special are the people who work/volunteer there. It really feels like they really love what they do and you can feel how happy they are. This gives me hope in humanity. In the end, I am glad we stopped by at Tiny Town. I had fun and so did the girlfriend. read more

This place was pretty awesome! We took out 11 month old there and he really enjoyed it. It's fun to walk about and see all the details that have gone into all of the buildings. There's a playground at the end of the town with shade and picnic tables. We rode the train which was also fun in itself. You can see different parts of tiny town that you don't see walking! This place is so cute to take really small kids. My daughter was 15 months when we went. She was running around all over the place in awe of all the little houses. There were some Santas (like 20 of them, LOL) in the middle of summer, handing out red noses. She loved that. She would sit on all the little benches and just enjoy her time there. They had a train ride which was super cute to see the way the decorated it. When we were ready to leave we stopped to get ice cream. Just to let u know, the store is CASH only.. If you dont have cash you can go to the front and they will swipe ur card, then give u cash for no fee. :) read more

Website advertises that the park is open till 5pm and has train rides "about" every 30 minutes. We arrived at 3:42 to find a sign that says the last train leaves at 3:45.. And it had just left (a few minutes early) we thought that arriving over an hour before the park closes would allow us at least one train ride. The town was adorable and my girls love it. Be aware thought that the picnic tables at the front are for people who BUY food only. The unkind lady from behind the consession stand waited until I had my 2 and 3 year old unloaded, lunch out, to come tell us we had to move because I hadn't bought any food. Now there was a sign posted but there were 3 other family's with small children picnicking in the same area. She only asked us to love because we were in one of her only shaded tables. Those were her words. When I asked her if I could buy something so they could stay she said, No, I'm nice enough to let people even bring food. I don't have to do that." All other staff was super friendly but next time either tell us before we get unloaded or at least kindly let us know of your polices. If you want to be a family friendly establishment you need to be kind and accommodating to families with small children. It is so much work to get your kids happily out the house to only have the place you take your kids for fun make it harder. read more

This is a great place to take toddlers and small children. The well maintained grounds includes a railroad that circles the grounds that include over 100 miniature buildings that will intrigue your young ones. Many of the miniature buildings are setup either to crawl in or to view figurines and scenes from the outside. There is a reasonably priced snack bar on premises, picnic tables, and a large playground on premises. All of this is set in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. I would recommend this location for locals and visitors alike. read more

When we went there the first time we had walked to the counter and no one was there so we went to the website and it said it was open. so we went back to the car and this girl said they had just closed because it was sprinkling and she had called right before they got there and they were still open. So then we left and came back a couple days later and they were open. So we went straight to the manager Elvira, and were telling her about what had happened and she did not care at all! She was rude and mean. So we walk through and there were spider webs all over the houses and you could barely see inside the houses. Some of the houses had toys thrown everywhere and some had nothing in them but bugs and dirt. Some of the houses were even falling apart. It was not fun and not worth the money. read more

Cute place. It was very affordable. It was 19$ for our family of 4, including the train ride. We spent an hour and a half there. So we got our monies worth. We called in advance and they didn't answer, then we drove over and it had sprinkled a little about an hour before our arrival, right as we got there, the lady at the window had just locked up and gotten in the car and drove off. She wouldn't even talk to us. We called about 2 times a day later, they didn't answer. We arrived there and there was a nice guy at the window, and we told him our experiences and he let us in free. Then we asked to talk to the manager, and the manager was extremely rude and arrogant. We explained everything that had happened and she was barely paying attention. After that we walked through the park, and we came to the small buildings. They were run down and not taken care of at all. I had to use the restroom and they were horrid. Not cleaned. Ever. This was my terrible experience at Tiny Town. read more

Not a fan. Tourist trap. The tiny houses and places aren't proportional so if you try to envision yourself walking into a tiny bank, you'd have to re-envision yourself walking into the tiny saloon. It doesn't make sense. Keep it all the same tiny size and maybe someday your tiny town will become a tiny metropolis. read more

Kids ages 2 to 4 or so should have fun here. The highlights are the train and the playground. The houses are kind of sad and dilapidated, as if their hey day was probably 20 years ago. But there is definitely attention to detail, so that's nice. read more

We wanted to do something fun with the family after thanksgiving. Took a look on yelp and thought this would be fun. However, after making the drive from Denver we learned that they close in the winter. Make the call to check if they are open before making the drive. Looks cute from the outside though. ;) I put five stars because it made me choose a star level and I don't feel right putting anything negative when I have not actually visited. Originally built in 1915 - it is the cutest town on a child sized proportion. The train runs every half hour around the village. Many of the tiny houses are built so the kids can go thru them. There is a gift shop and a snack shack - both are very reasonable priced. This is a great place for the kids to have fun. read more
