Awesome place to grab park slice of pizza or a fancy treat. I have come here for years, and am always amazed at the quality and yumminess of their food. Watch for non-pizza specials. The market itself is alcoholic drink heavy: I am sure those who imbibe can find a special bottle of wine or beer, but the food alone is a reason for a quick stop. Tippens has been there forever, they've always had excellent specialty items like German potato salad--now they've expanded their deli section so that you can always walk in there and get a delicious home-cooked meal for a very affordable price. This is one of the Ann Arbor, Saline & Pittsfield staples. Offering one of the best wine/beer/liquor selections in the area. These guys are so good with their hand selected bourbon and tequila barrels that they are nationally recognized. Depending on your taste, the single barrels may overshadow the excellent food they offer. Everything from homemade baked goods, fresh fried chicken to their pizza. They even have pizza you can bake in the comfort of your own home. This store has everything from tomahawk steaks to organic chicken and everything in between. If you need sides, you will also find local favorites like Metzgers German potato salad along with their other selections. With this store being a small business themselves, they make a large effort to promote other local business's and donate to several charities a year. The store is well organized and clean, the quality is really good but the customer service is unfriendly and inattentive and the prices are really high. I just bought a 4 pack of a craft brew for over 20 bucks--yes, really! There were were no prices posted or I may have re-considered. Unique store with a wide variety of prepared foods, wine, liquors. A bit overpriced but what most galled me is the 3% credit card surcharge. Nowhere was it posted that purchases by credit card would incur such a charge until after it was made. I don't and won't patronize establishments that have instituted this charge. Credit card fees are a cost of doing business. As we all know if an establishment doesn't accept them, most likely they won't be around long. Passing on the fees, especially without notice, is unacceptable. What's next a surcharge for increased insurance costs, electric bills, or wages? Increase your prices if your costs go up! read more

Nice Market with Good Pizza, Sandwiches and Salads, along with Fine Wines and a decent Meat Counter. We stopped in for a Pizza and ended up with a slice of Mushroom and Cheese, along with a Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Wings and Mozzarella Sticks. They don't use much, if any, sauce on most of their Pizzas and offer a fresh baked Pizza dough sandwich. The wings were a little small, but nice and crispy with sauce on the side. Prices were a bit higher than we're used to, however the quality was above average. It's a bit of a drive for us, so it's not likely we'll come back soon. Went to grab a sandwich. Stood in front of the cashier and a coworker for a good three to four minutes while they were chitchatting about something and was completely ignored. Should have just walked out but ended up grabbing a sandwich, which was actually quite good. What to say, what to say! So for almost two years now, my wife and I have probably eaten something from Tippin's at least twice a week, and for a period of that two years, it was more like 3-4 times a week...and did I mention we'd grab lunch there too? LOL Diane makes some great homemade dinners during the week! The Shepard's Pie has got to be, our hands down favorite, with the stroganoff next up. Every once in a while they will make something special and it's always great. The fried chicken breasts are boneless skinless and lightly breaded with Panko so they are crispy and light - I love when they throw that one on the menu. Diane is also the baker and makes the best blueberry pie I have had since a visit to Maine. All the desserts are good, but the blueberry is my personal favorite They make these HUGE sandwiches on bread made with pizza dough-omg! One sandwich is two meals for me lol And the pizza, oh the pizza! And when we had our grand opening (FINALLY!) the helped with selecting wine and beverages, as well as snacks. I'm pretty sure that during the reno on the building, we would have starved to death without them, and we told them so ~ we love the food, and more importantly, the people; Rachel and Rocky are the best! read more

This place is a gem. I drove by it for years, then decided to go inside, because I knew Uncle D's Pizza was there. I wanted to see the source of the pizza I'd tried at a seminar in town. The market is impressive! Lots of gourmet stuff. Definitely don't overlook this place. A little pricey, but they have the regular and unusual, and it's oh so convenient to stop in for a quick errand on the way home from work. Oh, and if you want wine or spirits -- hey, I'm no expert, but I think they have an extensive selection. About half of the store space is devoted to potent potables. I know they do wine tastings occasionally. Maybe I'll try that someday. I get a mailer from them once in a while. read more
