It was a cold and dreary January day as I looked down at my poor abused feet and the years of destructive treatment poured back into my mind like it was only yesterday. From the grueling days on the family farm to the miles walked all over the world in defense of our great nation... It seemed as if the miles had taken a toll on them and that I would be plagued by pain for the rest of my days. Calluses so thick they were pushing into the muscles below, the jagged edges of the nails that I couldn't cut quite straight and a slight discoloration that I couldn't begin to understand how to return them to their youthful appearance. I decided that day to go try a pedicure. I mean the worst that could happen is someone might label me as none masculine but what if it helped. I entered "Tips and Toes" and they were very polite and a little shocked because I don't think they were use to men getting their services. As soon as they found out that it was for me I was escorted to a seat where the work began. As the technician worked I enjoyed the massage chair and listened to music. I'm here to tell you. It was like my feet were dipped into the fountain of youth. They were spry and really ready for what was to come!! Gentlemen it's not taboo or anti masculine.... It's maintenance pure and simple. Recently found this place and I will be coming back. Only downside is something the wait can be a little too long and seating is limited to wait but they do work pretty quick. This was my first visit to the salon, and I have mixed feelings. The tech who did my nails did a decent job. He started out polite. However, he became rude and borderline disrespectful when my hand wasn't positioned the way he wanted. This was minor, and should've been an easy fix, but he chose to be rude. Barring his obvious inability to handle life today, I did like the overall vibe of the salon, and everyone else was great. That guy just needs to get it all the way together! First I visited another salon that closed at 8, arrived at 6 pm and was told that I could get a pedicure but I could not get a fill in because they had too few manicurist. So I left and looked to see who ranked next on yelp. So here I am at tips and toes nail salon. I arrived and asked if I could still get a fill in and pedicure and even though they still were serving customers......they were happily and readily able to assist. I will never return to this nail salon or allow anyone I know to go there. First off the staff was not very friendly when I walked in. The guy who was giving me the manicure was very impatient and obviously aggravated by the fact that I needed a minute to pick out my color. When I did pick a color and he started to paint my nails the polish came out clumpy and streaked like it was old. He assured me this was just how that color was. I should have listened to my gut but I allowed him to keep using that color. I finished and paid for the gel manicure. Then only TWO DAYS later it was peeling and lifting off my finger nails! Something was definitely wrong with the polish. I work full time and am busy so it took me a couple days before I could go in and have him redo it. When I was able to go back 4 days later and show them. Then the man who I think was the owner challenged the fact that I had just been in there. He was rude asked me a lot of questions and tried to act like it was my fault that this gel polish had begun to peel and lift off just a few days after it was done! He then would not even look at me while I was talking to him, and just asked what he wanted him to "do about it". Side note I was not being rude this interaction as I just wanted them to redo the manicure with a color that wasn't defective. I was made to feel so terrible about this that I just had him remove the polish so I could leave as quickly as possible. I didn't trust them to paint them again. Beware of this place!!
